CHAPTER ONE
Nationals' was coming up for the glee club and the New Directions couldn't be more excited. This was the third time they had made it to Nationals and what better place to have their National competition other than National City. Everyone in glee club was excited for this competition, especially Marley Rose, who had recently re-joined Glee...
Marley's POV
"Marley!" Ryder called from behind me as I packed my bag into the cabinet under the bus. I looked up and smiled at my boyfriend, giggling. He walked up to me and gave me a huge hug like he hadn't seen me in months."I'm so glad you re-joined the Glee Club."
"Me too." I replied, our hands intertwined, "I almost forgot how much I loved being part of this team." Ryder grinned at me, then leaned forward, kissing my lips.
"Get a room!" A familiar voice shouted. I sighed pulling away from Ryder and looked behind me, seeing Kitty.
"Just ignore her." Ryder said as I turned back to him, "She's just mad because Tina got the solo for Nationals." He explained.
"I was way better than her at the sing-off, but I guess being a senior has its perks," Kitty commented, before walking past us. Ryder and I just looked at each other and I couldn't help but laugh a little.
"Hey, so have you given any thought to said earlier?" Ryder asked, making me look up at him. Ryder wanted to do a little exploring in National City before Nationals, but we were only going for the weekend and I wanted to focus on winning Nationals.
"I don't know." I answered, "Nationals is very important to me and I want to focus just on that." He nodded understanding.
"Then maybe a quick trip for coffee?" He suggested. I grinned and smiled, "Good cause I found the best coffee place in National City."
"Okay, everyone! Time to get on the bus!" Mr. Shue called out, "Let's head to National City!"
Kara's POV
"Supergirl!" I heard my adoptive sister, Alex shout through my earpiece, "You're running out of time! That pipes going to burst any minute!" She told me as I tried to break open the steel door to the steam room where a woman had gotten trapped inside.
"I almost got it!" I yelled at Alex as I used all my strength, trying one last time. The door creaked open enough for me to get inside, "Grab my arm!" I told the woman reaching my hand out to her. Just as she grabbed it, I heard the pipes whistling underneath us. I quickly pulled the woman out of the steam room and flew us up through the hole I made earlier in the ceiling.
As we went through the roof, the pipes burst, causing an explosion with all the chemicals used in the spa. It was so loud I knew Alex heard it through my earpiece, which came true when I heard her shout my name.
"Kara!"
I laid us on the street as the paramedics rushed over with a stretcher. I gently set the woman down on it and she looked at me, thanking me for saving her life. I gave her a hug smile back, then flew back up into the sky as I said to Alex.
"We made it out, Alex." I heard her sigh on the other end, "I just need to blow out the flames from the explosion." I told her, then used my freeze breath to do just that.
"Good job, Supergirl." J'onn said, "Now get back to DEO headquarters." I nodded as if he could see me, then bolted away heading back...
Once I got back, I walked into the DEO and Alex ran over to me, giving me a huge hug.
"You scared me to death, Kara." She whispered, then pulled away from me, looking at me with worried eyes.
"I'm fine, Alex." I tried to assure her, "And I got everyone out safely, which is Supergirl's job."
"I know Supergirl's job to protect people," She replied, "But Kara is my sister. I don't know what I would do without her."
"Kara is not going anywhere," I said, talking about myself in the third person, "And Supergirl will be more careful," I told her, which is what she wanted to her. She grinned at me and nodded, making me smile back at her.
"I'm heading out to meet Maggie now, does Supergirl or Kara wanna join us for a drink?" Alex asked after a minute and I shook my head no.
"I think both Supergirl and Kara need a nice relaxing night, curled up watching Friends," I replied and Alex chuckled at me, "We'll see you tomorrow," I added. She nodded and walked away from the balcony as I flew away.
