Author's notes: Funny how I publish these stories a day before Part 6 arrives haha. Anyways I hope you like these stories! Feel free to deliver any actual criticism that isn't about how romantic Jigen and Goemon's relationship is, just as long as it's expressed nicely.

Tick tock tick.

The slowness ran and ran as a distraction to Goemon's meditation. His teeth gritted with eyebrows furrowed as he tried to concentrate. It was almost as hard as trying to get a statue to move, and it wasn't helped by the fact that Jigen was all he could think about. His handsome face with dreamy bright eyes, his funky little chin beard and as ridiculous as his hat looked, Goemon also thought it looked adorable and didn't think Jigen would be the same without it. He kept on focusing on his love, waiting for him to return home so he can greet him and kiss him on the cheek. But he knew that wasn't going to happen for a while given this was a mission only Jigen and Lupin were interested in.

This was a regular thing that would happen. As much as Goemon loved Jigen, there were obviously certain instances where the adventures in mind appealed only to Jigen and his monkey-looking partner in crime. It was unfair, but he knew he couldn't force himself to go as that would be a waste of his time. However he also didn't have much to do by himself these days so he usually just spent most of it meditating, though it would get a little tedious doing the same thing over and over for a long length of time. Not to mention, he was also jealous.

He was jealous of how much time Jigen spent with Lupin instead of with him. It almost felt like to Goemon, Jigen liked spending more time with his longtime close friend instead of his other close friend whom he happened to be dating. Although he did feel like it was the fault of his own for not being willing to do things with Jigen when he was busy, he also was fearful to ask him if he could do those said things, out of fear of the heartwrenching possibility he would say "no". The revelation that he never loved him, that Jigen had fallen out of love with Goemon and was only with him to be nice.

Goemon tried to not ponder those thoughts. He tried to focus on his peaceful and absorbed activity of tranquility, when it was all of a sudden interrupted with a creaking sound coming from the front door. The samurai got up and ran to the door to see the monkey man and his partner standing in the doorway.

"Jigen! You came back…it felt longer than it should've been." Goemon said embracing his lover.

The warming embrace was returned with Jigen wrapping one arm around Goemon. "Did it really? Damn, you must've been real bored today."

"Um, yeah. I suppose you could say that."

Soba was a desired food by the three men, so that's what Goemon made for them all. Fujiko was busy at that moment, so she wasn't able to taste the beauty of made-from-buckwheat Japanese noodles.

Goemon decided then and there that this would be his chance. "Um, Jigen?"

Jigen just turned his head towards the samurai, not saying anything. Goemon still tried to find the right words to say. "Would you uh…"

"Would you like to go on a date with me? I was thinking we could go to my usual meditation area. It's very grassy, has a river and it's peace-"

Before Goemon could finish his sentence he had his mouth closed by Jigen putting his index finger on it. "You bet your ass."

Two emotions ran through Goemon's head when he heard Jigen say that: relief and joy. It was too much to be contained. He hugged Jigen once again. "Oh Jigen, you may be Lupin's partner, but in terms of romance you will forever be mine." Goemon said, following his statement up with a kiss on Jigen's cheek. Continuing his hug of embrace, it made Jigen's smile get even wider.

"Hey Lupin! Goemon finally wants to go out on a date with me!" Jigen proclaimed.

"I know! I can't believe it took Goemon this long to get this much willpower to ask you if you want to go on a date with him." Lupin replied. "But hey, I honestly knew it would happen eventually." Lupin had a smile on his face as he watched the two have their moment of love.

As much as Goemon appreciated Lupin and Jigen's friendship, he wanted to spend just as much time with Jigen as Lupin did with the gunman. Goemon loved Jigen about as much as Jigen loved him, and now would be the time he would start doing a better job at showing it. Their love was absolutely strong.
