Neo Romance – Ch 1

Crow woke up in a place familiar to him, but not his own. Taking a quick glance around the room he recognized that this is his home in the game 'Neo Romance.'

Looking at the clock, it was time for him to make his delivery rounds. Looking in the mirror, he made himself look presentable. Orange hair shooting to the skies, headband, stormy gray eyes, and face tattoos. The game had a lot of customization. This was him: Crow Hogan.

Before leaving he feed his pets, Blizzard and Gale.

Once outside it truly hit him that he was in the game Neo Romance. The skyscrapers of Neo Domino were visible from the spacious yard he called home.

'I am really inside the game…' He thought.

No point in dwelling on it. Not like he knew how to get out or if he cared enough to escape. Crow shrugged and made his way to work and his trusty Blackbird.

Neo Romance is a dating simulator with five characters to romance.

Yusei Fudo: Is the childhood best friend to the player character. He is a scientist and mechanic that lives in Satellite but has a home in Domino. He is chill and reliable.

Jack Atlas: The future king of Neo Domino. His parents were assassinated when he was young. Has been taken care of by Rex Godwin since then. Seems Crow does not have a high opinion of him.

Kiryu Kyosuke: Is a quite guy with a tragic backstory. Spearheaded a gang that started off with good intentions. Soon he got carried away. Eventually his teammates got sick of his unsavory ways. Some simply left. Others got revenge by turning him into Sector Security. He is very remorseful of his actions.

Akiza Izayoi: Is a lady with psychic powers and a troubled home life. She is involved with the game's resident cult The Arcadia Movement.

Bruno Borrelli: Is a mysterious one. He has amnesia and doesn't remember his life before coming to Satellite. He is good with machinery, so he is often seen at Yusei's shop.

There was also a sixth romance option named Shinji Weber. He wasn't added to the game yet. Apparently, he wants to end the mistreatment of lower-class people.

Crow was eagerly awaiting the Shinji update. Who knows, maybe he'll show up anyways.

These routes also had names.

Yusei's is Marked ending.

Jack's is Squabble ending.

Kiryu's is Distance ending.

Bruno's is Blue Bird ending.

Akiza's is Firebird ending.

The game developers reveled the Shinji's ending would be called Guardian ending.

There was also an inaccessible ending called Kizuna ending. Hackers and data miners found a code for it. Fans believe it has something to do with Yusei and Jack seeing as they are the only characters that you can raise affinity with at the same time.

Once a character gets to a certain affinity the other character's affinity stop growing. If Yusei is being romanced, Jack's affinity doesn't stop growing. This happens with Yusei when romancing Jack. When asked about this, the game devs pretend the 'problem' is not there.

Crow already thought about making the Kizuna ending happen, but he wanted to try something else.

Once the end of the day came Crow made his way to the orphanage in Satellite. Because the person he wanted to achieve his ending was in here.

"Rarw!"

As Crow walked in the orphanage he was greeted with the sound of screaming kids.

They were running away from a 'monster' wearing brightly colored Hawaiian shirt and yellow vest.

"Look Crow is here!" Yelled Taka.

"He'll protect us!" Shouted Amanda.

The children quickly gathered behind me. Ginga bravely held the 'monster' back.

"Not even Crow can help you!"

"Don't worry children!" Crow bolstered. "Crow the Bullet will keep you safe!"

Cheers came from the kids.

"No! The children's joyfulness is weakening me!" The 'monster' fell to his hand and knees. Ending his dramatic show of surrender.

The man standing in front of Crow is named Brave. Some releases call him Border which means brother.

"Not so tough now." Yoshi sneered.

"You were scared the most." Dachi pointed out. This caused Yoshi to blush in embarrassment.

The children all scurred around Brave, asking him for stories of his adventures.

"I'll tell you some next time." He spoke. "There are some things I need to do."

Walking up to Crow he beamed. "Are you trying to buy my wares before I open."

His smile made Crow's heart flutter.

"I'm not going to sell you anything until we get to the bar."

Brave was a treasure hunter. When he arrives in Satellite, he sells his treasures. These are just in-game items for the player to raise character affinity with.

"Maybe I just wanted to see you." Crow snarked. "Assuming such a thing, sheesh!"

"Tell you what," Brave started. "I'll give you a discount just for today. You are my most valued customer."

More like only customer, seeing as his prices are too high for Satellite residents and he can't be haggled with either. It's very tasteless. Seriously, what were the game devs thinking.
