A/N: I'm back...I promised myself I wasn't going to do another WIP yet here I am. This is the 14th (holy hells bells) installment of the In Every Lifetime series and will fill the prompts for the Tan Lines and Tan Hands event by todaydreambelieversfic on Tumblr. This first chapter may not make a whole lot of sense if you haven't read at least The Unknown (the first story in the series).

Thank you, as always, to the wonderful and talented teddyshoney for her editing skills.

I have NO idea where this story is going to go. The tags and rating will be updated as needed.

Filling this prompt: Soulmate au where there's always a faint outline of a ring on your ring finger that gets more noticeable the closer you are to your soulmate. It turns a bright gold upon first contact (from milkyraegalaxies on Tumblr)

Benevolent: (especially of people in authority) kind, helpful, and generous

"Now that you're back, is there any type of place you'd like to go next?" Caphriel asked his two favorite infinites when they arrived back in The Unknown from their last adventure.

"I really don't know," Blaine said.

"Our adventures have been so amazing that I'm not sure either," Kurt agreed. "Can we look through the book?"

"Of course," Caphriel answered.

The boys spent a few hours looking through the book of adventures and talking about each option.

"I like the ring one," Kurt said.

"I do, too," Blaine replied. "I know that we're always connected by this," he said and pointed to the gold ring around them. "It will be nice to have that ring always there, though, that we can constantly see and that will tell us when we're getting closer to each other."

"I like that idea, too," Kurt said with a smile.

"So, this is the one?" Caphriel asked as he looked at the page they were on.

"It is," the boys said together with smiles on their faces.

With an equally wide smile, Caphriel sent the boys on their next journey.

"You have one of the most benevolent hearts I've ever witnessed, Caph," Karma said as she watched from the back of the room.

"I don't know about that, Karma," Caphriel said with a slight blush. "I want everything good for those two, and I know that this life will be wonderful for them. I've been waiting for them to pick it, and now that they have, I'm just going to watch them live it."

"I'm excited to see it, too," Karma said and watched as the boys were born into their new world.
