"Most of them aren't use to sleeping during the day," Luke said, only mildly embarrassed, watching his students trying to settle in in the throne room. He wasn't about to let them be separated in the Palace, as even their reluctant host wasn't entirely certain of what traps might left over from Jabba's reign that might be sprung by overly curious younglings. He was seated on one side of Boba Fett's throne.

"You don't say?" Fett side-eyed him hard, not that Skywalker could tell with his helmet on. He had expected there to be a bit of a minor siege on his palace, once the Hutts had gotten themselves together enough to protest his taking over what remained Jabba's old criminal empire, even more so after he had started to dismantle certain aspects of it. What he had not expected was for a Jedi Master and gaggle of wannabe Jedi younglings to come visit just as it happened.

Fett hadn't had the heart to turn them out.

Fennac had just laughed.

Skywalker had claimed he merely was showing them where he had grown up and to visit the hut where Kenobi has lived for so many years. He had stopped (stopped by?!) Boba's palace on the very off chance Din Djarin was visiting so Grogu perhaps spend some time with him. Din was there, but that was more due to Din just wanting to some breathing space while he figured out what his next move was regarding Mandalore. Din was also looking for information regarding the possibly location of any of his Covert survivors.

Of course, at that moment Din and Grogu were blissfully asleep, possibly the only ones that were.

"It is fascinating how many species in the galaxy are diurnal," Luke nodded, looking quite innocent. Fett wasn't buying it for a moment, "it takes quite a bit to get us to go against that. I remember being very against the siesta when I was little."

"You want me to sing you a lullaby, or something?" Boba asked with a snort.

"It might help," Luke replied, not expecting Boba to do just that.

The new Crime Lord of Tatooine rose from his throne, cleared his throat and started to sing. His voice was a bit rough, but otherwise very good. Luke didn't recognize the song or the language, but it was a calm soothing sound.

"Hmm, either he's decided he likes you, or you're not making it out this place alive," Fennac said leaning over to Luke from her side of the throne, "it's a fifty-fifty chance."

The song came to an end, and it had had the desired effect. The younglings had settled down and some even appeared to be asleep.

Fett sat back down.

"What song was that?" Luke inquired, sensing Fett's mood had taken a turn towards melancholy.

"Don't know the title, just something my Father use to sing to get me to sleep," Boba answered after a moment, "it's in an old Concord Dawn language. Apparently, parts of it aren't appropriate for kids, so he was going to tell me what it was actually about when I got older."

That Jango had never gotten the chance was left unsaid.

A quiet "ah," was Luke's only response.

Author's notes:I think it would be a crime if Boba doesn't sing in The Book of Boba Fett but somehow I doubt I'll get my wish. Also, if the word and substance Chocolate can exist in AGFFA, then so can the word and concept of Siesta.
