Outside, it was a sunny day, but the rabbit was less than sunny as usual. Cheese the Chao sighed, for his friend seemed upset about something.
"I just don't know, Cheese. Maybe I'll go talk to Tails." Cream said.
She dressed up out of her pajamas into a more suitable outfit and headed to Tails' house after locking her house door. She knocked and said, "It's Cream, please let me in."
"Okay, Cream. I'll buzz you in." He responded as he pushed a button nearby to unlock the door.
"Pardon the intrusion." Cream said, noticing the apartment was cleaner than the last time she had entered, which was a month ago.
"Sorry for not answering myself; I was caught up in a new invention for Sonic." Tails said. He then washed his face which was covered in oil.
"What can I help you with?" He asked her.
Cream had sat down on the couch and said, "I feel like I'm not a good fighter like you or Sonic, even Amy's gotten better at it. Cheese does all the work and I just feel so bad for him."
How do I comfort her? Do I give her a hug, reassure her or both? Tails thought, but was brought back to reality as he saw tears in Cream's eyes.
"Please don't cry, I know there are some things that you can do that others can't, like staying positive or not giving up; that sort of thing. I'm sorry if I'm not super helpful right now, would you like a hug?" He asked.
"A hug sounds very nice, thank you Tails." She said, wiping her eyes.
They embraced for a few moments, noting each other's warmth.
"I feel much better now. Thanks a lot and see you later!" she left his apartment, waving him goodbye.
Waving back, he said, "You're welcome, anytime."
