Back in the 70's
Hetty and Granger had been partners for a few years. One night, Granger asked Hetty if he could date her.
She was stunned. But she accepted his dinner offer.
At dinner
'You're quiet tonight.' Granger said.
'I have a question. Why would you want to date me? I'm not exactly the most normal woman. Secret keeping is part of my life, along with danger. And I look weird.' Hetty said.
'First off, you keep me safe. Well, you try to. You were there for me in the days after I was rescued from captivity. You're beyond courageous, you're loyal, a good friend. I want to get to know you more. And, you don't look weird to me.
Hetty was stunned.
'Oh. Well (blushing), thank you for your kind words.' She said.
Granger walked her home after dinner.
'I've thought of your offer. You're a nice man, and I'm touched that you would want to consider dating me. But, I'm worried that I might do something to displease you if we were to date.' Hetty said.
Granger chuckled. I'm worried about the same thing! Look, we're not going to know for sure how this'll work until we try it. So, dinner again tomorrow?'
'Okay!'
They dated for a while, before eventually growing apart. They eventually met up again years later, and rekindled their relationship
