Dexter Detention: The Alternate Ending

The exam had just begun and Dexter had written down the correct answer for three of the questions. He was going to get 100 for sure.

Unfortunately, he was rudely interrupted.

"Psst," said a student sitting next to him. "What's the answer to Number 1?"

Dexter tried to ignore him (But he was annoyed at this student) and covered up the answers.

"Psst, what's the answer to number 1?" the student asked again.

Dexter felt more annoyed but still tried to ignore him.

"Psst, what's the answer to number one?" The student asked, yet again.

Dexter could take it no longer.

"287!" He yelled, and realizing what he had done, he covered his mouth in embarrassment.

Miss Wimple was shocked at she had seen. "I.. I think I'm going to faint!"

And she did too!

"Miss Wimple!" cried Dexter, running over to her.

"Oh, the disappointment! not you!" wailed the Teacher.

"Miss Wimple! Miss Wimple!" cried Dexter, grabbing her.

"Dexter? Is that you?" Miss Wimple said, opening her eyes.

"I'm sorry I shouted out the answer, Miss Wimple!" said Dexter in a remorseful tone. "But there was a student bugging me for it!"

"Oh, was there indeed." said Miss Wimple, recovering slightly. "Which student was it?"

Dexter pointed to the student that was sitting next to him, but there was no need as all the other students were all pointing fingers at him.

Miss Wimple recovered properly and gave Dexter an understanding look. "All is forgiven, Dexter," she said. "You can go back to your desk."

She then toughened up and pointed an angry finger at the student that been bugging Dexter.

"Young man, for attempting to cheat at the test," she roared. "You will sit in the corner for the rest of it!"

"Aww man," the student complained. "I was just trying to make the test easier for myself."

"That's no excuse," replied Miss Wimple. "When the test is over, I will decide what to do with you."

The student stomped over to the corner in annoyance.

The exam went on with no further incident and Dexter went home pleased that he had passed it with every answer being the correct one.

As for the student, Miss Wimple made him stay in the classroom over recess and he wasn't allowed to sit next to Dexter ever again.

Serves him right, don't you think?
