In a dark sewer, Lockdown and his team of villains explore the dank tunnels. "What are we doing down here again? Where did you even make me take you?" Marvin asked Lockdown. "I've made contact with a local of this universe. We're going to make a trade." Lockdown answered. "Whoever this person is, they must have similar tech to ours to even talk to us." Doctor Gross commented. "Are you sure this isn't a trap?" Doctor Morocco asked Lockdown.
"No." Lockdown answered before a laser beam violently flies past his face, to which he doesn't react, but the others do, taking defensive stances. "Show yourself!" C.Y.L.A.S. called out. Emerging from a tunnel ahead of them is a black muscle car with a roof-mounted blaster. It transforms into a lanky, yet menacing robot with similar aesthetic to Lockdown's old body, plus a skull-shaped mask on their red-eyed face. "You the guy?" the robot asked Lockdown with a deep, gravelly voice with a touch of authority.
"Indeed I am. Do you have it?" Lockdown asked. The robot presents a lead-lined crate with his two-fingered industrial claw. "Good. My package is already on its way to your secondary coordinates." Lockdown responded. "What's your name?" the robot asked Lockdown. "I'm Lockdown. Yours?" Lockdown asked the robot. "Quarantine." he answered.
In another universe's Tokyo, an evil black To'Kustar with triangular red eyes and a short head crest collapses before Way Big, Ursa Kildare sporting the Night Sword, and a To'Kustar with large triangular blue eyes and a red-and-black pattern all over his white body. "I'm sorry… father…" the other To'Kustar spoke in regret. The evil To'Kustar attempts to reach out to them, but dissolves into black particles until there is nothing left. "It'll be alright, Weba. That wasn't your dad, just a clone." Way Big assured the To'Kustar. Soon, Finn, Jake, and Jerry exit the mech on a hill when Way Big approaches them.
After a flash of green, he reverts into an 11-year-old boy with short brown hair wearing a green T-shirt with black shoulders with a "10" on the left breast, and cargo pants; a younger version of Ben 10. "Man, that fight got my vessels pumpin'! We gotta go on more giant robot fights with Ursa." Jake said excitedly. "Tell me about it! Fighting as Way Big is something else." Ben said. They feel tremors and turn to see Weba waving at them before he is covered in blue cosmic clouds and disappears into the sky. "I hope we see him again." Ben commented as a massive blue twin-rotor helicopter fly overhead before landing on the hill.
Exiting from the helicopter is an old man wearing a fishing vest and a Hawaiian shirt, an 11-year-old ginger girl wearing a light blue T-shirt and shorts, and Simon. "Ben, are you alright?" Gwen asked Ben. "Alright? I'm great! I was in a real-life giant monster fight like those Japanese movies, in Japan!" Ben answered excitedly. "C'mon, let's go home so I can cook some mac n' cheese! I got a gruyere wheel waiting to be grated." Jake said.
Finn opens a Multiverse Bridge back to his universe and the adventurers wave goodbye to the Tennysons before they leave. "Now that that's over, let's get back to our international vacation." Max said. "I feel like we're forgetting about something… or someone." Ben said. Meanwhile, a younger version of Kevin is trapped inside an advanced Japanese drink vending machine. "Ben warned me about fusing as Bootleg before timing out. Did I listen? No. Now look where I am." Kevin bemoaned his situation.
The adventurers return to their home universe victorious. "How did I do?" Jerry asked them. "Not bad. You made some bad jests, but you were pretty good overall." Jake said. "About that… when you sat down in the helicopter, I put flypaper on your seat again." Jerry said. "What?!" Jake said in surprise before looking at his rear, which a sheet of flypaper has indeed been stuck to.
Finn, Simon, and Jerry laugh it off as Jake's face reddens in anger. "Stop laughing and get it off!" he demanded. Minerva approaches them and yanks the flypaper off Jake's butt. Jake lets out a pained scream as he looks at his naked butt. "Uh, thanks, Finn's mom." Jake thanked Minerva.
"You're welcome." Minerva acknowledged. "Hey, Miss Campbell. I think I did pretty good out there." Jerry said. "I shall have to see about that. Return to the Dome for de-briefing." Minerva said. The adventurers walk back to the Hub Dome when Minerva stops Finn, Jake, and Simon. "I'm sorry, but something has come up that requires your attention." Minerva informed the three.
"But we just got outta a really tough adventure!" Jake protested. "What's the problem?" Finn asked Minerva. "According to reports from one of our parallel Voyager versions, Lockdown has been spotted in another universe." Minerva informed them. "Has he done anything yet?" Finn asked Minerva. "No, his ship was seen orbiting the local Earth." Minerva answered.
"Why don't their Finn, me, and Simon do something?" Jake asked Minerva. "Busy on another mission. They called us to handle this." Minerva answered. "If Lockdown's up to something, he can count on us to ruin it. Punch in the coordinates and we'll be ready to kick his skid plate." Finn said confidently. "Can I sit this one out?" Simon asked. "I'm sorry, but your insight into various pre-war media is too valuable to set aside. You are to resume your duty to advise Finn and Jake." Minerva declined.
"Don't get down just because you didn't know anything about Ben's universe. You're still a great adventurer to us." Finn assured Simon, who gave him a small smile. "Are you all ready?" Minerva asked the adventurers. "Heck yeah, we are!" Jake exclaimed. "Excellent. As usual, Afterburn, Chop Shop, and Bullhound are ready for deployment on your command." Minerva told them. She fires up the Multiverse Bridge once again and the adventurers face their newest adventure.
On the other side, they find themselves in a city at night on one end of a large metal bridge over a river. "This place looks familiar." Finn commented as he looked at his surroundings. Simon walks to the bridge and examines the structure. "This is Chicago. We ended up near the same place we were during that time-travel accident!" Simon told them. "Chicago again?" Finn said.
"I don't think we'll see any Autobots fighting Decepticons." Jake commented, when glowing green fighter jet zooms past, followed by a white fighter jet chasing after it. "What was that?!" Finn said in surprise. Driving past them are a red motorcycle, a futuristic ambulance, a police motorcycle, and a blue A.T.V., all without drivers. "Did you see that? Those bikes didn't have any drivers!" Finn said. "They could be Cybertronians!" Jake suggested.
"I think it's something else. Those vehicles looked familiar, and I think I know where I've seen them before. Call Afterburn, we're gonna follow them." Simon advised. Finn opens a Multiverse Bridge to summon Afterburn. They jump in the car and follow the vehicles. Further into the city, the white fighter jet zips around the buildings, following the green fighter jet. "Who is this guy? Another Renegade that came to Earth?" the white jet's pilot communicated to the vehicles below.
"The last thing we need is another crony in Cy-Kill's crew. Especially one that can fly." The ambulance responded. The glowing green jet flips over to fly upside down to fire a missile at the white jet, knocking it out of the sky. The adventurers catch up with the vehicles in time to see the white jet falling. "Brake!" Jake exclaimed for Finn to do so. The vehicles in front of them skid to a stop before the fighter jet could crash.
Instead of crashing into the pavement, the white fighter jet rapidly transforms into a white robot wearing a fighter pilot helmet and breaks its fall with a roll. Unlike the Transformers, it is made of blocky, intact portions of its vehicle mode. "I was right! That's a Transformer!" Jake pointed. "No, he's something else." Simon smiled. The robot stands up up as the ambulance transforms into a white robot with a faceless head, with only a blue visor and a flat faceplate.
The red motorcycle transforms into a 7-foot-tall robot with exhaust pipes mounted on his back. The A.T.V. transforms into a blue, wide-framed robot with a blocky lower jaw, stubby legs, and four-fingered robot claws. The police motorcycle transforms into a blue robot slightly taller than the red robot, only with a sleeker frame, and a helmet like that of a highway patrolman, including sunglasses. "You okay, Leader-1?" the fat blue robot commented in a dim-witted tone. "I'm okay, Hull. Just need some quick welding." Leader-1 replied as he removes his mouthplate.
"Whoever this guy is, he's good. He flew backwards and upside down! It's like he doesn't obey gravity!" the red motorcycle robot commented in an oddly familiar voice. "If I didn't stop sooner, that civilian would've been hurt." Leader-1 said as he looked to Afterburn. He walks to Afterburn and crouches down. "We're sorry about that, citizen. Be careful on the road next time." Leader-1 apologized to the adventurers before returning to his team. "Let us return home and rest tonight." the police motorcycle said before they transform and drive away.
"Simon, who are they?" Finn asked Simon. "They're the Guardians. We're in GoBots Animated, a Two-thousand-seven cartoon about two factions of cyborgs that come to Earth to fight each other, rekindling a war that ended millions of years ago. The good guys are the Guardians, with this team led by Leader-1, a military officer tasked with Astro-Beam maintenance. The bad guys are the Renegades, led by Cy-Kill, a legendary warlord who was nearly destroyed when he crashed to Earth. He's either a severed head or hiding in a cave depending on what season we're in." Simon explained. "Sounds like the Autobots and the Decepticons back home." Jake commented. "What channel was it on?" Finn asked. "Cartoon… Network…" Simon answered slowly, remembering the strange pattern in their multiverse adventures.
"I think Jerry had a point. The universes we visit are based on shows on the same pre-war channel." Jake said. "And we still don't know what it means." Finn said. "Forget that. Let's follow them. I know where their hideout is." Simon told Finn. Simon takes the wheel and drives into the city. They soon drive to an abandoned factory somewhere in the city.
"Fun fact: GoBots Animated was released many months after the Battle of Mission City." Simon commented. "How much of the show did you watch?" Finn asked. "I've watched all of it. It was a must-watch for the fan base." Simon answered. They park Afterburn at the curb and walk to the factory. The entrance is closed with giant bay doors, which Jake pries open easily.
As the doors open, they briefly see light before it shuts off. They enter the factory and explore inside, finding rusted machinery and abandoned containers. Curiously, there are giant-sized furniture made from junk arranged in a corner. "Nobody's home." Finn commented. "Intruder!" a young boy's voice screamed.
Headlights shine upon them as they face the GoBots they encountered earlier. The lights turn on to reveal the five cyborgs and a teenage Pakistani boy with curly brown hair and glowing blue eyes wearing futuristic green clothes encircling them. "Who are you, and how did you find us?" Leader-1 asked them. "We come in peace!" Jake screamed.
Back in Ooo, The Barista, The Scientist, and The Astronaut stand atop a cliff overlooking the Desert of Doom at night. "Are we ready?" The Barista asked his team. He and The Astronaut extend their hands while The Scientist brandishes a silver remote-like device. They open a black portal in front of them floating off the cliff "Let's go." The Barista said before he and the other two step into the portal before it closes.
To be continued…
