(Before we start, I gotta tell you this.
I got into MLP (namely Equestria Girls, but I do tend to do FiM at times for a bit of backstory) back in June. Before then, I basically ignored it instead of hating it like some people. I'd been seeing some Equestria Girls artwork with human skin tones on DeviantArt (namely from a user called The-Park) and heard some comparisons between Rainbow Dash and Sonic the Hedgehog. And believe it or not, the blue blur actually helped me into the MLP fandom. Mainly Sonic Heroes and Sonic Forces, but other installments portray how the speedy hedgehog needs his friends to keep going. Crazy how both franchises have several things in common, huh?
So then I started getting into Sonic x MLP crossovers. I grew bored with most of them since they involved the same plot of Sonic (alone or with Tails) arriving in Equestria and having to save it from Eggman. I was really into one with a humanized Sonic in the EG-verse, so I figured I would give it a shot myself and write one just for the fun of it (and to get the concept outta my head, things stick easily). But rather than make my first one a collision of worlds (unlike my other crossover that will be put up alongside this), this is a little something I like to call a world fusion.
A world fusion is basically elements of both franchises mashed into one world. Aside from adding those, I've decided to make some changes to the Equestria Girls timeline of this story. They are as follows below:
Portals to Equestria do not exist and there has always been magic in the world. Magic-related issues are rare, as well as individuals who possess it.
Equestria Girls movie: Rather than being a bully, Sunset Shimmer has been the bullied. She was timid, frightful, friendless, had anger issues, and avoidant of others up until the Fall Formal, where the main cast (minus Twilight) took notice and made her warm up to both them and others.
Rainbow Rocks: occurs. The Dazzlings are a trio of roguish miscreants who utilize magic similar to their movie counterparts. Rather than Twilight assisting, Sunset was vital to their defeat.
Friendship Games: occurs like in the original timeline
Legend of Everfree: occurs like in the original timeline
Dance/Movie/Mirror Magic: occurs like in the original timeline, with the exception of Starlight Glimmer (instead of from another world, she is "the new girl" at CHS)
Forgotten Friendship: The Memory Stone is a relic from an ancient time, having thought to have been lost for centuries.
Rollercoaster of Friendship: occurs like in the original timeline
Spring Breakdown: The Storm King was a ruthless tyrant from the past, defeated by Twilight's ancestor after conquering an ancient kingdom. His magic remains, endangering the cruise ship. Everyone is brought back to the city by a teleportation spell discovered by Sunset.
Sunset's Backstage Pass: The Time Twister was a dangerous artifact locked away until Supernova Zap and Kiwi Lollipop discovered and took it from its underground site.
Holidays Unwrapped: occurs like in the original timeline
Additionally, events similar to Sonic 1, 2, and 3 have occurred (this will be explained in a later chapter).
