The New Kid

I sighed as I fall flat to the ground, my entire body almost worn-down by chakra exhaustion.
I've trained so hard these years, I forgot to keep a balanced meal and rest.
But then again, I didn't want to impose on Mother. She's got enough already to worry about, her work in the neighboring village, taking care of the chores, our new-born Brother and feeding me.

Father and my older Sister rarely comes home, their occupation as Shinobi of Konoha kept them busy with who knows what. Though I do look forward to their arrival, after all Father promised he would train me between his spare time, and sister will help me with sparring.

I recall to the moment that I awoken my Dojutsu, at that time mother and I was going backs home from selling goods at the market. A lone thug approached us and tried to kidnap mother, saying she's perfect to keep him and his friends occupied for months.

I remember rushing him with what little chakra enhancement I learned at 4 and 1/2 years old, my swings had just enough power to pack a small punch. But I was no match against this thug and he shoved his soles in my face, as I was sent reeling back with a broken nose.

I didn't remember how it felt at first, but I awaken my eyes and I felt a second wind rush through me. I felt the power coursing in my limb, and I rush at him for a second time, my little legs carrying me faster than before. And as my fist impact his chest, I felt his rib cage shatter with a loud cracking noise.

After that incident, Mother contacted Father and Sister, and they returned home to check on us.
Upon seeing my development and Dojutsu, Father who was initially hesitant to have me trained as a Shinobi finally relent and taught me basic chakra control and other exercises to learn while he's away.

Shirayu, my Sister also gave me some shuriken and kunai, and some book on Taijutsu stances..
I picked up those lessons quickly and after two months I've learnt all I could from their lessons.

And now here I am, trying to advance my tree walking and water surface walking. Something that's most Genin probably still struggled with. I guess being a reincarnated soul with his memory intact give you that advantage, and my meta-knowledge of watching the Naruto anime show also helped.

I wipe off the sweat and grime and headed back home.
But I can't help to think nothing else but my predicament, my disposition in this world of magic and monsters. Am I the only one who found myself reincarnated.. Is there a mean to return back home?

Probably not, I vaguely remember getting into a traffic accident and carried in an ambulance, but nothing else. I couldn't remember anything past that point, and the next thing I recall was gradually remembering my past identity when I was 5 months old, and I remember more and more after that point until I reached the age of 2 years.

Thinking about going back, while I was raised by a dedicated and loving parents and have wonderful siblings in this new world left me feeling guilty. Even if they weren't my first family, what rights do I have to throw away their dedication and love under the pretense that they weren't my real Family?

After all, Family is the people that makes you feel at home.

Saori sat down once she reached the stall, order a plate of sashimi and a bottle of sake.
The server eyed her and asked "Aren't you too young to drink, lady?" his eyes glint with amusement.

"Sigh, just give me the food oji-san. You know everyone in this village is eligible to drink" her retort match the old man's vigor.

"Right, right, haha ha… I never realized you like my food that much though" said the old man with a chuckle. "Well, I didn't" she said, her face as impassive as ever.

"If you don't then you wouldn't bring your date here" said the man, his eyes on the door as a handsome girl stepped in and heads toward her direction.

"She's. Not. My. Date" Saori retorted, her expression crumbles into irritation.
The old man just chuckle and walks away, mumbling about youngsters these days.

"A pleasant afternoon, Saori-chan. It always is when you're involved in it" said the approaching girl with a wink. "Please keep your.. Hospitality to someone else, Ryuzashi-san" her reply was quick and abrupt.

"Heh, polite as ever. Any way let's get down to business, I've got the files over here. This newcomer comes from another world, thus his signature is very different than the rest. It took us 7 years to locate him, and we only succeed because he awaken his chakra and, we presume, begins his Shinobi training" the girl explained.

"Does he live in a hidden village? And is there anything noteworthy about this boy?" Saori passed a questioning look.

"We have pinpoint a powerful Dojutsu in both eyes, but that's the extent of our knowledge. Though it's signature unlike the Sharingan or Byakugan. Probably another case of mutation. For where he lives, he's near Konoha and his father and older sibling is a Shinobi of the hidden leaves, but no, they live on the outskirts of the village. About 10 clicks away" Ryuzashi finished her explanation.

"So he comes from a new dimension, possess an unknown Dojutsu, have Shinobi parents and unusual chakra signature? I don't understand why you task me with retrieving this boy, though" Saori stated.

"Well, for some unknown reason, our sensor thought that his chakra signature is very similar from you. Maybe he's from a neighboring dimension, or even the same dimension as you're from" told Ryuzashi.

Saori immediately choked on her sake, the burn and tinge of it in her throat doesn't distract her when she's too shocked to hear Ryuzashi's words. 'The same world.. Can he possibly.. K-know about this universe, perhaps, more than my limited knowledge?' she thought to herself.

"A-alright, I'll take this mission" Saori said quietly.
"Are you alright, Saori-san? You look almost pale just now" Ryuzashi asked.

"It's nothing of your concern. I'll take those file now, and I shall depart as soon as possible" Saori stated, calling over the server to pay her bills and ask for her food to be wrapped and taken home.

"If you say so.. Here's the file" Ryuzashi eyed her curiously.

Saori quickly got up and bowed politely, before making her leave and head back to her home.
She have much to prepare, after all, the journey to the land of fire can take months even to a seasoned prodigy like her. But if what Ryuzashi said is true, then she'll have to take that risk and travel get there as fast as she can.

The possibility of meeting someone from the same world cause her to shiver in anticipation.
It's her only semblance of the world she left unwillingly, and if everything goes right, maybe she can work with this boy to find a way home.
