A/N: Back to bringing angst to this fandom. Sorry, I haven't been that active here for a while. I've been working on other projects. I can't believe the first anniversary of my first complete work in this fandom is August first. It's been a journey. Thank you for staying with me and joining me. This certainly won't be the last fic for the fandom. In the words of King George, 'You'll Be Back.' Now, who's ready for some good old Lucy angst?
The Spier family was on their way home. They were on their way home from a soccer game. It was the last soccer game of the season. Simon got his family to tag along since it was the final game of the season. Bram had been asking Simon to bring his family to one of the games.
They stopped at a red light. "We're thinking about going out for milkshakes later," Jack said. "You should invite Bram. We'll pay as a victory prize."
"I will," Simon said. It wasn't their first time meeting Bram since they met at the school talent show the previous school year. Yet, his family still saw it as a big deal. He was Simon's first boyfriend.
The light went green, signifying it was okay for them to go. However, someone on the other side thought it was theirs. Their car swerved, making contact with the front of the car.
The family was escorted to the hospital. Simon and Nora were treated for minor injuries. Both of them were expected to be okay. Their parents weren't as lucky. Jack Spier was killed once his head made an impact with the dashboard. Emily was taken into surgery the moment she got there. She sadly died two hours into the surgery.
Leah, Bram, Nick, Abby, and Garrett arrived at the hospital the next morning. Bram was cuddled up to his boyfriend in bed. "I talked to my parents," Nick said. "They said you and Nora can stay with us for as long as you need."
"Thanks, Nick," Simon said. Nora was still asleep. She didn't get any sleep the previous night. Simon barely got any sleep since he was comforting her. He was crying himself, but he felt like he needed to be strong.
"Have you guys heard from Alice?" Abby asked.
"Yes," Simon said. "She's on the next plane."
A police officer entered. "Hello," he said. "We're still looking for the other driver, but we need to discuss another matter. You guys are both minors. Your uncle has offered to take you in."
"An uncle?" Bram asked.
"Yes," the officer said. "He lives in Ashley Courts."
Simon remembered his father having a brother. He came over a few times when Simon was younger. He hadn't seen him since Alice graduated high school. All he knew was that his father and he ended things on bad terms. Simon knew his father was a sensible man, so his uncle must have done something bad.
