This story line occurs within the 'The Decoupling Alternative Book 2' and focuses on Leonard and Penny's daughter Sarah.
Chapter 1
"LEONARD!"
Leonard was startled when he heard his wife scream from the bathroom. He stood up from the couch in the living room and saw his wife holding a baseball bat, going into his general direction.
"I'm going to kill you! You jackass!" she said coming closer to him, with the baseball bat at the ready.
"Woah honey! Calm down and put that bat away before you hurt yourself!" he said while putting some distance between him and Penny, wary of her flaring temper.
"Oh, you're definitely gonna get hurt this time mister!" she yelled as William saw the confrontation between his parents. William ran and picked up his plastic toy bat, joining his mother, thinking they were playing a game. "That's right sweetie, we'll beat up your daddy this time." Penny said, encouraging her son.
"Wait a minute! I don't even know what I did this time!?" Leonard yelled as he circled around the living room, trying to keep away from his wife and son.
"I'll tell you what you did, you jackass!" Penny yelled as she reached into her pocket and threw a plastic stick towards her husband. Leonard picked up the piece of plastic and saw it was a pregnancy test with two lines on it. Leonard laughed upon seeing that he's going to be a father again when all of a sudden, William ran to his side and managed to hit him on the arm with his plastic bat.
"Ow! That hurt!" he yelled as his son ran away, hiding behind his mother. Penny smiled and looked at her son.
"Good job sweetie." she said, smiling at William.
"Okay honey, this is not funny anymore! You need to calm down and put that baseball bat down." he said as he slowly walked towards his wife. William ran towards him and hitting him on the arm again before quickly returning to his mother's side.
"That's my boy! Good job!" she said giving her son a high five.
"You two need to stop right now!" he yelled as he took a hold of both bats and pulled them away from Penny and William. He then hugged his wife as Penny began to cry on his shoulder. "Honey, this is great news! William will have a brother or a sister!" he said trying to console his wife.
"I'm gonna get fat again!" Penny said, still crying on his shoulder as William held on to her mother's side, curious as to why his mother was crying. Leonard kissed his wife on the cheek as she slowly calmed down, wiping her tears off. "I'm scared Leonard." she said.
"What are you talking about? We already did this before." he said, reassuring Penny.
Penny took a deep breath, looking at her husband. "I know, but I don't want to get sick again." she said.
"Honey, this baby is a blessing for us." he said smiling at her. "Look at our son. When you got pregnant, you got cast on your TV show, we bought a house, my career got better." he said.
"Mommy, why are you sad?" asked William.
Penny touched her son's face and smiled at him. "I'm not sad sweetie." she said.
"Then why are you crying?" William said.
Penny sighed. "Sweetie, I'm pregnant. You're going to have a little brother or a sister." she told her son.
"Really!" William said as his face slowly lit up with excitement. "Then why are you angry at daddy?" asked the child.
"l'm angry at you father because he did this to me." she said. Without warning, William quickly punched Leonard on the crotch. Leonard fell on the floor, wincing in pain as he tried to catch his breath. Penny then took her son's hand and led him into the bathroom. "Good job sweetie. Come on, it's time for your bath." she said.
"Can I play on the tub mommy?" he asked his mother.
"Sure thing sweetheart!" she said as Leonard held on his crotch, looking at them.
