Summary:

Tayen hasn't always been the best person in the world, considering she was raised in a mob. But after meeting Lucifer and finding out she's a reincarnation of his daughter with Eve, she takes his name and a magic bean to start a new life. She lands in Central City just in time to watch it explode. After starting a job for the person responsible, Tayen helps bring S.T.A.R. Labs to its full potential and tries to atone for her previous sins with the new family she's made for herself. But her past keeps coming back to haunt her, not to mention the insane Nephilim that keeps whispering in her ear that it's all for nothing, and she quickly figures out that it's going to take more than changing her last name to keep her life from spiralling out of control again.

Prologue

Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. – Genesis 6:11-13

Seraphim sits in her prison, like she has been for so many eternities, simply for being the World's First Bastard, when she feels the rush of life overwhelms her. It makes her skin itch, and her head spin. It's leaving her breathless, after so many years of imprisonment, boredom, and silence. She stands and wraps her fingers around the gold bars of her gilded cage, her fingers burning from how cold they are. "Hey! You!" She calls to the guard standing post right now. He turns to scoff at her, and she sees it's the Angel of Righteousness, but she can't remember his name. Zack? She tries it, and he stalks toward her. "Zadkiel. What business could you possibly have with one of God's Angels, Abomination?" He demands. She clicks her tongue and wags her finger at him, "That's no way we speak to Demigods that can break out of here easily, is it?" She asks as if she were a teacher admonishing a student.

He points a staff at her throat, but she only laughs at him. She sees that the laugh sends shivers down his spine, and the thought fills her with even more joy. This day can't get any better. Her plan is working brilliantly, and the Angels are still scared of her. Zack pulls out a dagger, and Seraphim admires it with a grin. "Oooh, pretty. Is that a birthday present? I mean, it doesn't make up for all the years you've missed, but I'm not materialistic," she says with a scrunch of her nose before she quickly pulls it out of his grip. Here, where her power is almost limitless, Zack can't stop her. As she walks backwards and flips the blade in the air, she can feel its power almost vibrating the metal and the air around it. Zack's face is pinched, his eyes bouncing between 'Oh crap, I just started the end of the world' and 'Oh shit, Dad's gonna kill me.'

Seraphim holds the blade up in front of her, and she strokes the warm metal with a fingertip. "It's like holding Death itself in my hands," she whispers. She drops her hands and tucks the blade into her sleeve. "Be a good boy, Zack, go fetch me someone that actually matters." She orders him. When he just stares at her, she holds her hands up, "We'll make a deal of it, yeah? You go fetch; I'll stay put." She offers slowly. He hesitates, but he eventually walks away from her, then leaves. Sera claps her hands together and squeals, "Oh, this is a good day," she congratulates herself, since she knows no one else will.

Zack returns with Amenadiel, and Sera almost deflates at the sight. "Oh, you brought me someone boring," she whined. "We are not here for your amusement, Seraphim," Amenadiel snaps at her, and his booming voice echoes in Sera's prison. "Gabriel keeps me in the loop," Sera mutters to herself, scuffing her bare foot against the smooth floor. Amenadiel clenches his jaw, "You are on very, very thin ice here, Sera. Tell me what you want," he orders. Sera crosses her arms, "It's starting. You gotta put me in soon, Coach. The other side is cheating," she tells him the last part in a whisper as she walks back to the bars. "Who's cheating? Sera, I don't have time for riddles," Amenadiel shakes his head. But the excitement is becoming too much for Sera, she can't think straight anymore. Which side is she on again? All she knows is that she's winning still. "The Queen of Hearts is Alice, and she's coming to Wonderland, Your Honour." Seraphim announces proudly. "Born of the darkest of magics, and under the fullest moon in the sky, the most prized of her possessions will bring forth the end of times." Sera recites with her eyes closed. The words, when breathed to life, make her fingers and toes tingle.

Amenadiel and Zack are just staring at her, and she doesn't understand why they aren't leaving. The blade pokes the pad of her thumb, and it makes her realize maybe that's what they're waiting for. She pulls it out and holds it handle first to Amenadiel, "You need to be careful where you keep your sword there, Strongman. Don't want it to get into the wrong hands again, eh?"

Amenadiel grabs the blade and glares at her in exasperation, "What do you want, Sera? Really? Because these games are getting on my nerves." Seraphim sighs and wanders around the edge of the cage, "The girl just wants her soul back. The whole thing, instead of these cancerous shards that live other people's lives and stab her," she sighs sadly. She turns to stare at Amenadiel and rests her head on a bar. Amenadiel's gaze almost softens, before he catches himself and hides behind a wall of absolution, "We're not the ones that shattered your soul, Sera. You did that all by yourself. Now you have to wait for the shards to come back."

Sera looks at the other end of her cage, "Those are the old rules, sir. And the old rules don't apply. That's why I changed them." She sniffs.

She turns to see two Angel Popsicles, and there's almost an entire brain between them, trying to figure out what she means. She smiles, joy once again filling her as she enjoys their stillness for a while.

This is going to be fun.

AN-

Hey guys, thank you so much for reading, I hope you'll enjoy it. I first thought of this fic all the way back when I first watched Crisis. It started a small fix-it, basically a way to make Purgatory work for both Arrowverse and Lucifer. I left it, forgot about it, and then remembered it last year. The later drafts started when Tayen met Lucifer, which would be just after Lucifer came to Earth in 2011, but that didn't pan out as I wanted it to. So, I deleted everything after about 6 chapters and left it again.

For the last few months, however, I've been playing around with the characters and writing short scenes to be put in chapters later, and the whole thing started piecing itself together in my head. It felt like I was solving a puzzle while I was writing; I had to mix both shows and the Sera/Tayen plot lines, while also maintaining a story that was both interesting and made sense. I've just finished editing the outline, and I'm excited to see if it works out like I'm expecting without creating plot holes and such.

This is looking to be around three parts altogether. Part One will be from 2014-2017, Part Two will be from 2017-2019, including Crisis, and Part Three will be after Crisis. Parts One and Two will mostly remain canon-compliant, with a couple of exceptions, but Part Three will just be following a rough outline of both shows later seasons.

I would also like to apologize in advance for the 'First Pancake Arc.' The first few chapters will be... slow, but it's getting better, I promise.

Again, thank you for reading, please review and such if you can
