Author's Note from Mat49324: Well, it's now time for my 15th one-shot. I know – "that was fast, eh?" Well, if you have been watching the Hallmark Channel on TV in your areas, you may have heard one commercial jingle that I find to be very catchy, so I could honestly see this being done for Totally Spies. This is on the Christmas in July event with Christmas movies being shown every day in July from 7/9 to 7/31. I've memorized that 30-second jingle thanks to finding the video on YouTube and putting it on loop. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger if there's anything he'd like to say.

Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: Christmas. In July. Sure, why not? We've done weirder, haven't we? I'd actually like some cooler weather at the moment, considering how FREAKING HUMID AND STEAMY it is here in Wisconsin right now! Let's get this one started before I get baked into a pie, shall we? ROLL IT!

Title: Christmas in July

Summary: There's a contest for fun going on around the Mali-U campus with the use of a Christmas jingle, and the spies decide to enter for fun. Just for the heck of it, the girls all decide to enter together. What'll happen? Read and find out.

11:53 P.M. – Malibu University

It was another usual day around the Malibu University campus. Currently, Sam, Clover, Alex, and Britney had just found themselves a free period for the day. Mat and Nick were in classes of their own for a few minutes more. Clover had told them both via texts to meet them in the lounge.

"Great, now we can get a little lunch for ourselves," Alex replied, sounding anxious for food.

"Yeah, I'm totally famished after Surf-ology myself," Clover stated.

"Paleontology can do the same," Britney laughed.

The four girls ordered some food for themselves and headed for the lounge.

"Pretty nice day today, too," Sam commented, looking at the sunny weather.

"You think we should head to the beach again, or back to our penthouse pool?" Alex wondered.

Nobody gave an answer because Britney noticed something else first. Sam was the first to notice Britney stop in her tracks, followed by Alex, and Clover.

"Christmas in July contest jingle?" Clover wondered.

There was a small monitor replaying the commercial over and over again.

"Christmas is like five months away, after all..." Sam chastised, knowing it was really the summertime and the spies were living on campus.

"...doesn't mean you can't start thinking about it now," another voice stated.

The girls looked to see Mat and Nick among them; said voice happened to be from Nick.

"I've seen that commercial and it's pretty catchy," Mat told them.

Sam and Alex came to their steady boyfriends for kisses hello.

"Blaine's still in class himself," Nick told Clover. "And then Beach V-Ball practice."

"I honestly love the jingle myself," Mat told Sam, who then remembered their last (on-campus) date.

"I could tell you did, bro," Nick commented.

They both then saw the contest that was going on. The student (or students) with the best video would receive the "grand prize."

"Hey, cool," Mat replied.

"And you were just saying the other day how fun a video that would be for YouTube," Sam laughed.

"He's got a point," Britney commented. "It does sound like fun after all."

"The only rule is no carbon copy of the video," one of the judges told them.

"I say we take a chance," Alex suggested.

"Sounds like fun," Clover commented.

Sam could only imagine her prancing on the beach in a bikini to the tunes of that jingle were likely about to become reality. They all signed up together as one whole group.

"And just to be sure ours is authentic, I say we just hold some DVDs for the 'movies all month long' part," Mat told the others.

"Makes sense," Clover commented.

"Something tells me at least 80% of this video is gonna be on the Mali-U beach," Sam deduced.

"That'd be a safe assumption, Sam," Britney laughed.

"I wouldn't be surprised, honestly," Nick quipped. "This sounds like it's gonna be very, very interesting."

"What's gonna be interesting?"

The spies spun around to see Bridget walking up to them, dressed in her track uniform.

"Oh, we're gonna do a video for a contest," Clover quipped.

"We're, specifically us, gonna try to recreate this commercial jingle that Mat's been seeing a lot of lately," Nick explained.

"Sounds like fun," Bridget replied. "Mind if I join y'all? Track practice just ended, and I need to get away from Zoey's over-protectiveness, even if just for a day..."

"She's still freaking out about that time you sprained your ankle, huh?" Nick chuckled.

"I swear, Zoey's always going on and on and on about how I'm the 'trump card', the 'ultimate weapon of the track team', acting like they can't win a race without me," Bridget sighed. "And, if you remember correctly, Nick, when I was recovering, they actually beat those stuck-up SoCal track guys!"

"That sounds like Zoey, from what I've heard," Alex giggled.

"I know she worries about me, but she could tone it down at least a little," Bridget quipped. "I just don't want her to get a panic attack just because I tripped that one time..."

After a few pit stops to get everything they needed for their shoot, the spies all met up on the Mali-U beach, discussing who was going to play which part.

"Ooh, this is gonna be fun!" Alex laughed.

"I'm definitely looking forward to it," Mat replied.

"You would, bro, since you're the one who came up with this idea," Nick replied.

"All right, then, is everyone ready?" Sam proclaimed.

"I am if you are, Sammy," Nick responded. "Let's do this!"

The spies took a listen to the jingle, and Nick and Mat were easily able to recite the it word for word. Simultaneously, Clover noticed Blaine walking towards them in regular clothes.

"Hey, what's going on?" Blaine wondered after he and Clover kissed hello.

He was then told of what was going on, and that Nick had signed Blaine up, too.

"I kinda figured you'd do that," Blaine laughed.

"Hey, it sounded like a lot of fun," Nick teased.

"We've got a beach video to take care of now," Alex giggled as she used her X-Powder to get into her classic yellow bikini. "How do I look?"

"Awesome," Clover quipped.

"Totally," Sam laughed.

"I guess we all gotta do the same," Bridget quipped.

With that, Sam, Clover, Britney, and Bridget herself used their X-Powders to get in bikinis of their own. Sam and Clover sported identical bikinis, except Sam's was white and Clover's was magenta; Britney's bikini was a blue tie-on and Bridget's was a regular green bikini. Nick, Mat, and Blaine were all in their regular board shorts.

"So, how should the order go?" Nick wondered.

"Well, regardless, I think it's a must that we all share the final line," Mat pointed out.

"Agreed," Britney quipped.

"Well, I say I sing the opening line while everyone else kinda dances around or something," Clover told the others.

"Sounds good to me," Mat commented.

"Mat and I can double for the movies line," Sam replied.

Mat agreed to it.

"And Alex and I could double up for another line," Nick added.

Like clockwork, Alex agreed to that, too.

"I guess I'll go after Clover," Britney stated.

Everyone else worked out their said lines and got to the beach to do the video. Nick volunteered to use his phone to set things up.

"All right, guys," Mat remarked. "Let's nail this..."

"Three... two... one..." Nick counted down. "HIT IT!"

"Deck the beach with festive cheer..." Clover sang first.

In the background, Alex, Sam, and Britney danced around on the beach to indicate the "festive cheer" part.

"Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la la-la," Alex sang next.

"Christmas in July is here," Nick joined in with Alex.

In the background, Clover and Blaine were kissing romantically.

"Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la la-la," Bridget sang next.

This time, Nick and Alex shared a romantic kiss.

"On your home are holiday favorites," Britney sang next.

"Movies all month long in July!" Sam and Mat sang together while holding some DVD movie boxes.

"Christmas in July is here," Mat sang next.

In the background, Sam, Alex, and Clover were sprinkling sand on each other as if it were makeshift snow.

"Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la la-la," everybody concluded together.

Sam and Mat concluded with a romantic kiss of their own.

"Well, that was pretty fun," Britney laughed when Nick stopped recording with his phone.

"Great," Nick replied. "Leave the edits to me and Mat... and we wait and see after that."

"Whatever happens... happens," Mat quipped.

With that, everyone raced back to their penthouse at West Coast Hall after getting into regular clothes so Nick could do the edits.

"When did they say the winner would be announced?" Alex wondered.

"End of the week – Friday," Sam quipped, remembering what the directions were.

It was thankfully a short couple days before Friday arrived and the results of the jingle contest were posted.

"Hey, I think they posted the results," Sam quipped. "Let's go take a look."

Nick was the one to open his laptop and surf to the Mali-U web site to find the results.

And there were quite a few interesting ones, especially that one by Mandy and Mindy (who'd have thought Mindy of all people could sing?) and that one from the swim team.

But right there, in first place, was the video that the spies had put together, and that made them very happy.

"YES!" Alex exclaimed. "We pulled off another one!"

"Nice work, everyone," Sam stated.

The "grand prize" the spies ended up winning was a set of iPads for each and every one of them, a 30% discount on their next bookstore purchases, and some candies for them.

"This all for a video," Britney laughed.

"With a catchy tune for the win," Mat emphasized.

"Totally, bro," Nick agreed.

"I gotta say, that was fun," Bridget quipped, having just joined the spies after another track session. "Nice way to get your X-mas cheer going."

A double beep alerted to Nick about a new message on his phone, and he checked it only to see a message from his cousin Dawn.

"What's Dawn got to say?" Bridget asked.

"...she saw the video," Nick sighed. They had posted it on Youtube, after all. "And of course, she's predictably laughing about the whole 'Christmas in July' thing. She thinks it's some form of blasphemy, especially considering some of the snowstorms we had to deal with back in Japan."

"I'm glad we rarely have to deal with that stuff around here," Alex admitted.

"Be thankful that you didn't have to dig Haruka out of a snowdrift," Nick teased, to which everyone had a good laugh.

Final Author's Note from Mat49324: And another one-shot has been completed. I hope this produced some laughs to you indeed. I have to admit that A LOT of TV has rubbed off on me getting the inspiration for this one. I have to admit that as a kid, this Christmas in July shindig was REALLY foreign to me, especially when I get no snow year-round living in Hawaii. Of course, people in the continental U.S. have it worse with the snow and temperatures in the negative range, but in Hawaii, ANY temp under 70 is considered "cold." But it IS also hard to believe that Christmas is a little over 5 months away, too. For now, stay tuned for my next one-shot, which may come a little sooner than usual, but that's for another time. Here's The Blue Time Ranger if he has anything to say.

Final Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: Some people might say it's blasphemy to be talking about Christmas in the middle of July, but what the heck, right? And when it comes to the winter time, I don't mind the snow too much, but can the cold just... I don't know, not?

Anyways, that'll be it from us for now, so until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, and we'll see you next mission!
