He himself could not rival his own jealousy.
Whilst not an unfamiliar feeling to him, Lance was horribly ashamed of himself-
A man whose heart has been closed off to the world, now jealous of her?
No. Not of her. Of others.
It had begun when their destinies were intertwined, originating deep in the Viridian Forest. They understood each other, he could always find the simple pleasure of being around her healing, and they were happy. Even though they would spend countless days and countless nights side by side, it wasn't long before Lance could feel the jealousy flaring through the cracks.
She rambled about the days alongside her friends.
Hot afternoons resting on deep green rolling hills dotted with bright red blossoms, finishing with a sky painted by the setting sun, alongside a flowing blue creek that sparkled more than her eyes (so she said). The smiles Yellow bore speaking of such burned into his memory.
And when the nights and mornings found themselves empty, not a straw hat to be seen,
And when Lance found himself alone,
He knew where she was.
He knew whom she was with.
But for some reason, some prickling, acidic reason,
It hurt his heart to know that he could never amount to the love that they shared.
With the arrival of a new dawn, he set himself off on the perilous journey of confession, holding her hands (once delicate, before he had entangled her fate with saving this forsaken world).
He held her hands, bitterly telling her his woes- and with each syllable spoken, he found that it had hurt him more than he had once thought.
Yellow thought herself as emotionally strong,
but as he disclosed his sins to her,
she did feel something deep inside
faintly breaking.
But what held them both together was his shaking arms, her sparkling tears,
And every part of his body in woeful chanting.
"I'm sorry, Yellow."
A/N: a short piece about jealousy. could be whatever Grantedshipping you decide to interpret it as. A lot of it is supposed to be kind of vague- so up to you on what he said.
ALSO kind of weird formatting because I felt this wouldn't read as well in paragraph form? But I don't really think this would count as poetry either, so.
