A/N:Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well! This story isn't something I made recently. With my PC getting shipped off to be repaired, I'll be losing my files, regardless if it can be repaired or if it'll have to be replaced with another one. Deciding to back up my files to google drive, I found some old stories I made years ago. I completely forgot about these to be honest. They've all been left exactly as they were years ago. So if you want to see how my writing was back then, here you go! This story in particular was written back in 2017.
Context:
Mortal Kombat: Takes place after Mortal Kombat: Special Forces(A terrible game btw. Unless you're trying to go through the entire MK story like I am, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. I haven't touched it since I beat it all those years ago, bc it was so frustrating to play and then get a game over bc of the awful gameplay, camera and controls). Fun fact: Sonya was actually supposed to be in MK: Special Forces as a playable character along with Jax before she, actual cutscenes, and everything else that would make this game good was cut for whatever reason(more than likely it was rushed I can't remember the real reason).
Batman: No particular timeline placement or universe. Just know that Batman is of course a member of the Justice League.
Everything after this point is exactly how it was all those years ago. I know, my formatting sucked back then, bc I was typing all of this on my tablet only back then. That and I just didn't know how to do it as I still type and write on that same tablet from time to time lol. I hope you enjoy!
-(laughing) "don't worry about me Gemini I'll be fine!" A brown skinned man said caressing his newly cut hair with one cybernetic arm while driving with the other. "I hope so. If the special forces wants you that fast, it's something important." Gemini, the man's date said. "I'll keep in touch. Jax out."

After a few minutes of silence while driving, Jax finally arrives at the destination: One of Special Forces' many bases. The special forces is a special branch for dealing with international crime and possible threats to the United States, which is not to be confused with the special forces for guerilla warfare. As he steps into the white building, machines whirring and people typing or working in some fashion to protect the American people, a man by the last name of Marshall with the rank of a colonel, welcomes Jax with a warm handshake. "Jax follow me. Somethin' important." An African American man along with a young woman with blond hair seemed to be in her mid twenties were talking. "Ah, Mr. Briggs. Your work in stopping the Black Dragon did not go unnoticed, my friend!" The man said. "Thanks. What's this all about?"Jax asked, eying the woman. "I'm your partner. Name's Sonya Blade." Saluting and then shaking hands with Jax. "With all due respect to Ms. Blade here, I can handle myself. You've seen what I've done with the Black Dragon! They're all but done for now." "True, but this next mission will interest you I'm sure!"The man said, smiling. "What's up?"Jax asked. "A member of the Black Dragon was spotted attempting to steal venom from a factory in Gotham, New Jersey." "I'm not really seeing the problem here. Looks like he's on a suicide mission to me."Jax said."This 'venom' is actually a super-steroid of sorts, giving the user an incredible amount of strength and speed. If even one member gets a hold of it, there is a chance that some serious damage could be done. Or worse." "I'm on it." Jax said. "You mean we're on it."Sonya said, correcting him. "Enough talk. Time to crack some skulls!" Jax said.
The Batcave, Gotham City, New Jersey
"My suggestion of the Batwave wasn't ignored, I see." Alfred Pennyworth said, surprised that Bruce Wayne even considered one of his ideas. "Yeah, and it looks like it won't have time for a beta test."Bruce said, staring attentively at the upcoming news story. "Thank you news: A man was caught attempting to steal venom from a factory in Gotham. While the perpetrator is unknown, surveillance shows that the man had a tattoo on his arm like the one shown here. Reports also say that while most of it was dropped, one tank is missing. With crime rates overall being reduced to 45% and crimes at night being reduced by 20%, thanks to Batman and the Gotham City Police Department, we reached out to the GCPD for comment.
"We are doing the best we can to assess and investigate the situation to help us find and take down the perpetrator. We have had some of the most peaceful months in the history of Gotham and we intend to keep it that way." Commissioner Jim Gordon said during an interview. "With the winter olympics in Pyeonghang being a success at easing the tensions between South and North Korea, the President seeks to further push the envelope towards denuclearization in the Peninsula. He is planning to meet with North Korean Leaders face to face in the DMZ, but could this be beneficial more to the US, or North Kore-TV Shuts off
"Looks like your vacation is over Master Bruce."Alfred said. Bruce Wayne AKA Batman has been gone for 3 months. Possibly more. Now that crime rate was reduced, he still did his nightly patrols and watches but nothing more. For the first time ever, his city was safe to be in at night. The batman wasn't needed anymore. The Bruce Wayne side of him and the batman side for the most part was happy. His purpose for taking on the dark Knight persona was fulfilled, and his parents were avenged. Bruce expressed in multiple ways to Alfred,his friends (some of them really listening to his ramblings just for his money), and his team, the Justice league with clark kent doubling not only as an ally but as his best friend(even if Bruce wouldn't openly admit that) how boring the life of Bruce Wayne, millionaire playboy sometimes he wouldn't tell anyone though was that a small part of him was excited for this. "Time to suit up."As batman put on the cowl, batman grinned in a way that he hasn't since his early years. He then sped off on his batmobile to the crime scene.
*30 minutes later*
"I'm trackin' him down now."Jax said to Gemini. "He should be in there." As Sonya and Jax crept up to the warehouse, they heard the faint sound of automatic weaponry and men screaming. Jax and Sonya bust through the door with their m-44 pistols in their hands and drawn. "Oh man, I think we just stepped into the bat's territory." Jax said acknowledging the presence of the caped crusader." "How about instead of standing there with Gaga-eyes we help out?"Sonya said. "Why you!"A thug said cooking back a shotgun aimed at a pre-occupied Batman. As the shots were being spread Jax grabbed the gun and pointed it upwards, quickly disarming him and butting him with the back of the gun. Sonya was already occupied forming pink energy from her fists and leaving her enemies both stunned and in awe. "More on the way."Batman said to Jax and Sonya. "Bring it on!" Was all Jax had to say. With the three about to be surrounded, Jax decided to use his ultimate technique: his ground pound!As the ground shook from the force the thugs were all knocked down, Jax noticed the man he was looking for. "Hey sucka, you're not going anywhere!" The man just smiled which puzzled was up. "Who said I was runnin?" He then immediately took some of the venom. Jax was able to shoot it out of hands, but not before half of it got into his system."Now to get rid of you fools and get Kano out of prison!"He started to bulk up as his muscle size expounded. "We need to stop him now!If the venom is used for too long or too much, it could kill him." Batman began to raise his fists again for another ground pound. Batman stopped him."Not a good idea. Doing it again could cause the entire place to go down." "Any ideas?" Jax asked. "If we attack him now, we have a chance. He's only at half strength." Batman said. "Even at half strength head-on I'm still willing to bet he'll lay us flat." Jax said. "I have an idea."Sonya said. As the half man half monster charged at them. Sonya flipped over his head causing him to run headfirst into a metal pole. Disoriented and enraged, he screamed and charged again, this time with batman rolling and knocking him into another pole." Batman then threw a batarang on the ground. Now gaining his bearings, it seemed as if he had gotten stronger, lifting a table and throwing it at sonya, but to no avail as she broke through it with her energy rings. "Lead him here again!"Batman said pointing to the pole behind him. "I can handle that!"Jax said."Distract him!"Within seconds sonya was able to stand on her hands and immediately leap kicking him towards tapped on the thug's shoulder before he immediately picked up Jax. "I have you now!"Was all he was able to say before getting blinded by a bright light being created as Jax slammed his knuckles together. "Now Sonya!"Sonya performed the hand leap kick move again and knocked the monster into the batarang giving him a painful electric shock. While at first it seemed that he somehow survived the electrocution unharmed for a few seconds as he walked towards batman and sonya, Jax knocked him in the head, leaving him out cold. "Try gettin' up from that chump!"Jax said against his defeated opponent. "Looks like our mission was a success!"Sonya said pleased. As jax and sonya brought him outside, Jax was about to call Gemini for a vehicle back. "If you're looking to question him, leaving him like that won't get you any answers." "What do you suggest?" "Let me cure him first." Once the venom is out of his system I'll bring him to you." Before batman could disappear, Jax called "Hey!"Batman turned. "Some say you're a vigilante. I just think you're a guy in a cape tryin' to help his city." "If you ever need anything or want to help tell us we'll be waiting!" With the thug and batman speeding off in the batmobile, batman couldn't help but grin.
