Katsuki and Mirio emerged as the first children of Man and Woman. Their parents loved and cared for them far into adulthood. Katsuki and Mirio's relationship was that of familiar acquaintanceship and not one of deep brotherly love. Mirio was always open to building a bridge with his younger brother, but Katsuki was a man that preferred the company of himself.
Upon the word of Kami, his father relayed a message to give to Mirio. He was to go to the neighboring town of Shibu and marry a woman of Midoriya house, there he would become a king of kings upon the land.
Mirio acknowledged the word of Kami, and soon sought out the town. He met a woman named Inko. She was small and a few years older with a thick green braid flowing down her back. She was collecting water from a well when they first met. He was just asking for directions to a local inn, and upon introductions did she say her name.
He asked her if she had siblings and she said she was the only unwed daughter of nine. He took the day turning into night as an excuse to walk her home in thanks. When her father answered the door, he asked him for a moment of his time. There he explained the words spoken to him from Kami. The father, amazed and grateful to feel worthy of Kami, agreed, but with conditions. The man named Mirio did not have land, a home or food. The father offered him work for the next two years and a plot of land to be his upon completion.
An agreement was made.
For two years he worked, he bonded with Inko. Becoming enamored with her every day. He wrote home of his tales in Shibu. His parents were quite proud and even his brother offered congratulations. He learned his brother was working on an apprenticeship with a local blacksmith, his Mother told him, the flames enamored him.
LIfe was going splendid for Mirio, Inko and him were living on their own, and after two years of marriage, his wife was pregnant. He was currently in the good graces of the King. A trusted advisor to the royals and a trusted figure to the people.
When Inko was in her last month of pregnancy, his mother offered to help out. His father and even his brother, who just finished his apprenticeship, followed along. He hadn't seen his family since he left all those years ago and he was proud to show off all of the work he has been doing.
Mirio sat in his kitchen with his father and brother as they listened to the cries of Inko. His mother and two and Inko's sisters were in the bedroom. The screams were heard throughout the house, yet they talked of their studies. His brother, who barely saw the joy in most things, spoke so highly of his future plans as a blacksmith. He told the tales of what tools he has made. The travellers and warriors he has met.
"I am proud of you Katuski." Spoke Mirio. Bringing a goblet to his mouth.
"Hmm" Replied Katsuki. A smile on his face. Maybe it was a sign of maturity, thought Mirio. It could be time a true bond could be built. Mirio hides his own smile behind his goblet.
When he placed it down. He noticed it was quiet. Too quiet. Shouldn't his mother have been calling out to him. Joy ringing his her voice as their bae came to be.
Getting up. He walked to his bedroom. Knocking on the door. No one answered, yet he heard a small whimper. Turning the knob, he felt no resistance, the sight meeting him must have been the work of the devil for this could not be the path Kami laid out for him.
between her legs. Her sisters on the floor holding each other. Choking on tears that refuse to come. His mother, holding a bundle. Cooing at what he suspects to be his child.
"Mother?"
"Yes, my son."
His voice cracked. "Explain."
Placing the child in the open drawer lined with silk, she turned to her son. "It was her time."
"Time?"
"An angel came to her. She had completed her mission on earth. She was to return to Kami." His mother spoke with no emotions. As if used to Kami's ways. Of gold not always being treasure.
"Was I not blessed by Kami?!" Raising his voice.
"So was Inko. She gave birth to Izuku."
"A cattle being brought to the slaughter!" He looked at the corpse of his dead wife. A smile on her face. Her trademark braid was still in place.
"You agreed to the mission your father offered you all those years ago."
Crumbling to the floor. Tears finally falling. "Not at the expense of my wife."
His mother stared at him. Her first born. Her first piece of joy after being thrown out of Eden. She walked over to him. Kneeling down she hugged him.
A few hours later, Inko's family was notified and her sister's who helped in the birth, dressed her in her finest clothing as they did the burial. Katsuki, his father and his father-in-law dug up a spot in the garden under an apple tree where the ceremony was held.
Mirio finally met his son, Izuku. Green eyes and hair, ten fingers, teen toes. He loved him upon sight, but didn't know if he was strong enough to do this alone. His bed was thrown out, so he was sitting on the floor. Looking out at the night sky. That's how his brother later found him.
"So that's your son?" They left Izuku in the house during the ceremony. His sister in law watched him.
Pulling the blanket back slightly. "Yeah." He smiled.
"May I hold him?"
Not expecting that, he nodded. Katsuki walked over from the door frame and sat next to him. He received Izuku from his brother and just stared.
His gaze laid focus. Caressing the child's head, smoothing out the outline of his eyebrows. "Beautiful." He said.
"Aye." Said Mirio.
In the fifteen years that followed, his family moved to Shibu to help. The one that surprised him the most was Katsuki. He truly took to the title uncle and was often seen with Izuku following behind him, calling out Kacchan.
Mirio needed the help for the year that followed Inko's death, he was in a dark place. He still did his job with the king, but he questioned if following Kami's plan was ideal for his life. He started to come to better terms with it when he became King and learned how much a few deaths could help for the greater of mankind. He started to see Izuku less and less, but showered him with gifts whenever he was able to bond with his child.
He never took another wife. If Kami didn't ask, he didn't.
He did ask his brother why he didn't take a wife. As a blacksmith to the King and his brother, Katsuki was truly a prize in his own right. HIs brother would just shrug usually with Izuku somewhere nearby and say he already had a love.
"Why not go to her?"
"They're not ready yet."
"Is she married?" He's had his fair share of married women hitting on him.
"Something like that." Katsuki finished.
When Izuku turned sixteen, his parents died. The first Man and Woman were laid to rest in the garden where their daughter in law laid. His mother asked to not be buried near the apple tree though. The garden was enough.
Deciding he needed to mourn, he took the week off. He wanted to spend time with his in-laws and especially his son. Izuku was to take over eventually, so sixteen felt like the right time to begin.
Walking down the hall, he heard a noise from the room to his left. That room was usually used to store the weapons, so he didn't think anyone would be in there. He saw the door was ajar. The sight he saw was a close second to the day he lost his wife.
His brother was laying with his son. His brother's back was to him. Freckled legs covered with scars from the reckless adventures his son liked to embark on were wrapped around his waist. Moans that remind him of the times he laid with his wife rang in the room.
He stayed frozen, not believing the sight before him. How can one lay with their own blood? Inclinations like that existed? Was this a test from Kami?
He heard his son babble the name 'Kacchan' over and over again. Reaching arms over to pull his brother closer.
"Be quiet." Whispered his brother.
"I just love Kacchan." His son replied.
"I love you too, you Deku. You'll be mine when the time is right."
"Am I not already yours?"
"You've been mine since the seed was planted in your mother's womb." A hard thrust. "A promise."
A promise? Mirio thought. He saw his son turn onto all fours and found feeling back in his body. Backing away slowly. He went to his room.
A handmaiden was already in there collecting dirty clothes when he told her to stop and to draw a bath for him.
When the water was ready, he stripped bare and sat down. He saw the handmaiden grab a rag to assist, but he told her to go away. When the door closed, he sat back against the tub staring at the ceiling. He felt shocked, yet wondered why no anger came about. Did he not care that his son was being taken advantage of? His son was not to lay with man and was created to take over his own land, to continue their prosperous peace, to spread his seed so that their family may rule for generations to come.
The land and the people were of utmost importance.
The land that kami told him to rule.
The land that took his wife and made him neglectful of his own seed. A seed that laid with his brother.
A brother, who he was finally able to befriend. A brother who said something about a promise. Did he make a deal with the devil? He was led by Kami, so was Katsuki led by the devil? Only a devil worshipper would make his nephew spread his legs and take his own pleasure when options were so plenty.
Did his brother wish to kill him? He would defend himself if so, yet if he killed Katsuki, a curse would come upon his house. They were the children of the first Man and Woman. He couldn't ruin Izuku's future like that.
Yet. He looked over and saw the razor he often used. It's gold gleamed in the dawn filled sky. Maybe he should just kill himself. He could finally reunite with Inko. Inko. The first victim in this hell on earth's plan.
He picked the razor up. Placed it between his thumb and pointer. Kami could get another warrior. Another king for his crusade. His father always spoke highly of the Kami; his mother never said her thoughts out loud about them. His mother just wanted to return to her garden.
As the first child, he thinks it's his time to return as well.
Upon daybreak, Mirio's body was later found. The handmaiden that assisted him earlier told the castle.
The empire mourned a great loss.
Katsuki and Izuku mourned as well. Not knowing what could have caused their patriarch to take his own life. Katsuki would later know why when Kami cursed him for causing strife within Mirio. A curse that caused immortality. Kami needed more time with the first family and he wouldn't let Katsuki go until he said so.
Katsuki never told Izuku the truth. Even as he took over as King, and eventually gave it over to Izuku. Izuku laid with two handmaiden's so he could have heirs. Two daughters that were raised by Katsuki and Izuku. They had a relationship that was respected by the public, but no one ever knew the truth.
Katsuki watched Izuku grow old. He suspects Izuku knew he was cursed, yet never spoke up about it. Just always in a joyful mood whenever he was around his true love.
When Izuku died, he wanted to die with him. As a lad he always had dreams of green hair, green hair with a beautiful aura and he felt as if it was his destiny, a promise blessed to him by the lord, but instead it was a gold that wasn't a treasure.
