Chapter 1: Another 'normal' day

Amity Park. It's a moderately large city located somewhere in the central United States. It looks like a nice place to visit, and it is. Of course, if someone was planning to live here, there going to have to deal with the pests. Unlike normal cities where they deal with rodents or bugs, Amity Park suffers a problem that's a little more… 'paranormal'.

'What exactly is it?' You're probably asking? Well, the answer to your question is this one word.

Ghosts.

I know, I know. I see you laughing. You all think I'm joking. And you'd be right at first. But then as you investigate the city's history, you would be surprised with the number of strange activity and events involving the subject in question. Of course, you wonder just how exactly did this town end up as the number one hot spot for ghostly apparitions and other paranormal activity? The answer is the building right around the corner.

Now this building may look like an ordinary two-story house but what stands out is what's on top of the building itself. On top of this house is what looks like an ops center, and in the center of it all is a sign reading 'Fenton works' to inform people as to who owns this house.

In one of the three bedrooms we see a young boy with black hair sleeping in his bed. A buzzing noise from his alarm clock was heard signaling it was time for the boy to get up. With that he shut the alarm off and sat up before rubbing the sleepiness out of his eyes and upon opening them shows that they were blue. The boy got up and stretched a bit before grabbing his cloths from his dresser and walking toward the bathroom.

After a quick shower the boy stepped out now wearing his cloths consisting of a white T-shirt with a thin red collar, red cuffs, and a red circle in the middle, light blue jeans, and red-and-white sneakers.

'Who is this boy?' You're asking? This is Daniel (Danny) Fenton. Danny walked down the stairs towards the kitchen where he was met with the sight of three other people.

One was a young girl with aqua blue eyes, and long auburn hair which reaches down to her hips. She wears an aqua headband, a black long-sleeve v-neck shirt, aqua pants, and a pair of simple, black flats.

This is Jasmine (Jazz) Fenton, Danny's older sister.

The second person who was at the stove cooking eggs was a curvy woman with shoulder-length auburn hair, deep red lipstick, and violet eyes wearing a blue rubber jumpsuit, along with black rubber gloves and boots. Her suit also has a belt, which has a pouch.

This is Maddie Fenton, Danny and Jazz's mother.

And finally, the third person who was sitting at the table working on a circuit board was a large and bulky man, with black hair with some white in the back and blue eyes wearing an orange jumpsuit with black gloves and boots.

This is Jack Fenton, Maddie's husband and Danny and Jazz's father.

"Morning everyone." Danny said catching everyone's attention.

"Good morning sweetie." Maddie said.

"Danny! Good morning son." Jack said as he got up from the table and placed a hand on Danny's shoulder.

"Morning little brother." Jazz said.

Danny sat down at the table and pored himself a bowl of cereal. After eating Danny walked back up to his room and gathered his books, notes, and homework and placed them in his backpack, before walking back downstairs. By the time he reached the bottom there was a knock at the door. Maddie walked over and opened it to reveal two teens. One a boy and the other a girl.

The girl was wearing purple lipstick, has fair skin, violet eyes, and short black hair with a small ponytail at the top and at the back of her head held by a green hair tie. Her clothes consist of a black choker around her neck. Her upper body consists of a black tank top exposing her midriff with a purple oval in the center. Her lower body consists of a black striped skirt with a green crosshatch design, purple leggings, and black combat boots. She also wears a pair of black bracelets around both of her wrists.

The boy had brown skin, turquoise eyes, black hair, and wears black glasses. He wears a long-sleeve yellow shirt, green cargo pants with a black belt, and brown boots along with a red beret.

These two are Sam Manson and Tucker Folly. Danny's best friends.

"Hey guys." Danny greeted.

"Hey Danny." Sam and Tucker replied.

"Oh Danny, before you head off with your friends would you do me a favor and grab my toolbox from the lab? I'd do it myself but I'm a little busy now." Jack said.

"Sure thing, Dad." Danny said as he walked down the basement.

Remember when I said the reason why Amity Park ended up as the number one hot spot for ghostly apparitions and other paranormal activity was this house? Well the real reason why is where Danny is heading right now. As soon as he reached the bottom of the stairs, he looked around the large room full of equipment and devices that are used for ghost hunting. But the one thing that stood out was what was on the far side of the room. At first, it looks like a door to another room and your half right. It is a doorway, but not to another room but to another world called 'The Ghost Zone'.

In truth Danny's parents are Amity Park's top ghost experts. The two have studied the subject since college where they built the prototype of the ghost portal (albeit there was a third person who was involved, but we are not going to talk about that. Yet.).

Danny looked at the door and couldn't help but let the memories that happened ever since his parents first built the device flow, along with the one day that literally changed half his life forever. Danny looked around a bit before spotting the toolbox not too far from the ghost portal. With that Danny grabbed the toolbox and headed back up the stairs. He then handed the toolbox to Jack before he Tucker, and Sam left for school.

"So, Danny, were you able to get most of your homework done?" Tucker asked.

"Barely. Last night I had to stop six ghosts at once and by the time I was finished I nearly passed out from exhaustion near a dumpster." Danny said.

"Wow. Sounds like a rough night." Sam said.

"You don't know the half of it." Danny muttered.

"Look Danny, if you want, we can head to my place after school and study." Tucker offered.

"It'll be ok, but I'll let you know if I changed my mind." Danny said.

Eventually the three friends reached their school of Casper High. As they entered the building, they went straight to their English class. They sat down at their usual desks and at that moment a man entered. He is an overweight, bald, middle-aged man with green eyes and a goatee and is wearing a light blue short-sleeved dress shirt with a black tie, gray slacks, and black shoes.

This is Mr. Lancer. The vice principal of Casper High and Danny's teacher.

"Alright class, before we begin today's lesson, I would like to announce that we have a new student who has moved here to Amity Park from Brooklyn, New York." Mr. Lancer said much to everyone's surprise, Danny, Sam, and Tucker included.

"Quite a surprise I know, I was initially shocked as well. Class, meet Howard Milton." Mr. Lancer said, and as he said that a young boy walked in. He had light skin and jet-black hair that was everywhere (even with the help of a white hair tie forming a ponytail) and deep green eyes. His cloths consisted of a black T-shirt, blue jeans and a pair of blue and black Adidas.

"Hi." The new student said greeting everyone as he flashed a nervous smile.

"Now does anyone have a question for Howard here before we start?" Mr. Lancer asked the class but got no answer.

"Very well then, Mr. Milton, why don't you sit in the desk next to Mr. Fenton?" Mr. Lancer said, pointing to the only empty desk next to Danny.

Howard nodded his head and walked towards the desk Mr. Lancer pointed and sat down. He then felt eyes on him and looked to see it was Danny. All he did was simply smile at Danny and held his hand out.

"Howard Milton." He introduced himself.

"Danny. Danny Fenton." Danny introduced himself as he shook Howard's hand.

Danny didn't understand why, but upon looking into his eyes he noticed something… off about this guy. He decided to put it aside for now. And so, from there Mr. Lancer began his lesson for today and so far, everything was going well. By the time class ended Danny walked out literally with no trouble for once. The first half of the day went well until around lunchtime. Danny sat down at his usual table with Sam and Tucker.

"So, what do you guys think about the new guy?" Danny asked.

"I'm not sure dude, I mean he seems ok to me." Tucker said.

"Hey look there he is?" Sam said pointing towards the register.

The three looked to see true to her word Howard was walking out of the line and looked around to see where he would sit. Before he had the chance to move, he was approached by four students, two boys and two girls.

The first is a teenage boy with blonde hair and dark blue eyes. He is very muscular and fit and wears a red-and-white letterman jacket, with a black t-shirt underneath and dark blue jeans and white shoes.

This is Dash Baxter. The most popular guy in Casper High School, and quarterback of the football team, and the school bully.

The second boy is of Asian descent with short black hair and sea foam green eyes wearing the same cloths as Dash.

This is Kwan. Dash's best friend.

The next person is a light brown-skinned Hispanic girl with beautiful black long hair that has a pink hair clip on the right side, teal eyes, and wears a pink crop-top shirt, light blue capri pants, and white flats.

This is Paulina Sanchez. The most popular girl in school and head cheerleader.

The last person is a girl with waist-length dark blonde hair with spiky bangs and turquoise colored eyes. She has a model-like figure. She wears a white T-shirt with a thin orange collar, orange cuffs, and a backwards "P" in the middle, dark orange jeans, and white flats.

This is Star. Paulina's best friend.

"Hey, you're the new guy, right? I heard you're from New York city." Dash said.

"Yeah." Howard said as he began to get a bad vibe off this guy.

"Cool, names Dash. Dash Baxter. These are Kwan, Paulina, and Star." Dash greeted with a smirk, as he introduced the other A-listers.

"Howard." Howard introduced himself.

"So, what's it like at New York?" Star asked.

"It's everything you'd expect when you think about living in the Big Apple. Time square, Broadway, Central Park. You know, that sort of thing." Howard answered truthfully.

Just as Howard was about to walk off, he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Now hang on just a sec." Dash said.

"Yes?" Howard asked, with the bad vibe he was getting from Dash slowly increasing.

"Just because you're from New York doesn't mean that your better than us." Dash said.

"Better? Why would I want to be better than anyone?" Howard asked slowly getting annoyed.

"You don't know it, but we call the shots around here." Dash said addressing himself and the other A-listers with a smirk.

"Should I be intimidated?" Howard asked sarcastically.

"Watch yourself 'Milk-ton'. We're the A-listers." Dash warned getting several student's attention. Danny Tucker and Sam's included.

"'A-listers'? What's the 'A' stand for Asshole-listers?" Howard joked causing a few students to laugh a bit.

"Oh, that was a good one." Tucker said, much to Danny and Sam's agreement.

"Oh, that's it!" Dash said and threw a punch before throwing a punch that Howard caught with little to no effort much to everyone's shock.

"Look I just got here alright? And I'm trying to be nice. So, could you please save the wedgies, locker shoving, toilet sloshing, and everything else you asshole-listers do for the next day." Howard asked.

And to add to his statement, Howard began to slowly apply pressure to Dash's hand causing discomfort in the school bully.

Thinking he's had enough Howard decided to let Dash go and lick his wounded pride. He looked around to see that everyone slowly resumed their conversations and decided to sit at the nearest table. Which just happened to be Danny, Tucker and Sam's.

"Oh, hey Danny. Mind if I sit here?" Howard asked.

"Sure, go ahead. By the way these are my friends Tucker and Sam." Danny said as he introduced his friends.

"Dude, the way you stuck it to Dash was awesome." Tucker said.

"Thanks. I lived in New York. Crime haven. High school bullies are nothing in comparison." Howard said.

"Is it really that bad in New York city?" Sam asked.

"From time to time." Howard answered.

From there the three were able to have a good conversation with the new kid who revealed that this wasn't the first time he moved and said that he was originally born in Mount Holly Springs, Pennsylvania.

"You're really from Pennsylvania?" Danny asked.

"Yeah, I lived there most of my life, before I moved to New York." Howard said.

"Hey Howard, what's that?" Sam asked as she noticed something around Howard's neck.

"Wha- oh you mean this?" Howard asked as he pulled out a necklace from under his shirt.

The necklace was that of a full moon and a star with a silhouette of a wolf's head in the center.

"Whoa. Where'd you get that?" Danny asked.

"I'd… rather not talk about it. A friend gave it to me before I left Pennsylvania. I wear it for sentimental reasons." Howard said with sadness.

"Oh… sorry." Danny apologized.

"It's alright." Howard said.

It was at that moment Danny suddenly felt a chill course through him, and a blue mist suddenly came out of his mouth, which drew the attention of his friends. They looked towards Howard who was still looking at his necklace and then around the cafeteria to check if anyone had noticed and was relieved that no one did.

After saying that he'd be back Danny made a break for the restroom and after checking to see if anyone else was with him. When the coast was clear a look of confidence appeared before his face.

"I'M GOING GHOST!" Danny shouted and a white ring appeared around his torso before splitting in two with one traveling up and the other traveling down his body. With the transformation complete Danny's overall appearance has changed. His hair became snow white, his eyes became glowing green, and his skin changed from light to tanned. Much like his skin, hair, and eyes Danny's cloths changed as well now donned in a black jumpsuit with white boots, collar, belt, and forearm-length gloves and wears a logo of a white 'D' with the negative space inside it forming a 'P' on his chest.

This is Danny Fenton's alter ego, Danny Phantom. A human/ghost hybrid or halfa as he calls himself and the protector of Amity Park.

Danny quickly took to the air and using his ghost powers he made himself intangible and flew harmlessly through the roof and up into the sky above the school giving him a good view of the city.

"Ok everything looks good so far but…" Was all Danny could say before he nearly got blasted by a beam of energy that barely sailed passed his head. This forced the halfa to quickly move out of the way and look towards the source of the blast.

It was a ghost wearing a weaponized robotic suit. He has electric green eyes, electric green flaming hair and goatee, and jagged teeth. The 'skin' of his suit is an off-white and his arms have metal seams. He wears a black tank top and pants, a dark gray shoulder guard on his left shoulder, and a dark gray belt that slings across his chest. He also wears dark gray gauntlets that have technological features in the wrists, along with a gray utility belt that has a blue 'S' on the buckle. He wears gray boots with blue laces and a necklace with a white skull on it.

This is Skulker. The self-proclaimed greatest hunter in the Ghost Zone.

"This is what? The tenth time this month you tried to fight me Skulker?" Danny witted.

"You got lucky those other times whelp!" Skulker said in annoyance.

"And this time will be just like the others." Danny said as he blasted Skulker in the chest.

Skulker responded by blasting Danny but the halfa was quick to evade the attacks. Danny quickly returned fire and he got a few hits in before Skulker grabbed him and punched him in the face sending Danny flying across the area. Danny was able correct himself and pressed his feet on the side of a nearby building and using it as a springboard to launch himself off like a rocket. Danny charged up his energy into his fist and delivered a nasty blow to Skulker's head. The blow was powerful enough to knock Skulker out of the sky and crash into a nearby tree. It was at that moment that students and school faculty began to hear the noise of the fight (Sam and Tucker included) and ran outside and were shocked to see what was going on.

"Whoa it's Danny Phantom!" One student said in awe.

"Looks like he's fighting that one ghost that tried hunting him for the last few days." Another student said.

"KICK HIS BUTT PHANTOM!" Shouted Dash.

"Danny Phantom?" Came a new voice and some students looked to see that the voice came from Howard.

"You don't know who Danny Phantom is?!" Shouted one student.

"I'm kind of new here." Howard said.

"No surprise." Paulina said in annoyance at Howard's ignorance.

"Danny Phantom is the town hero. He protects this town from evil ghosts." Star said in equal annoyance.

'Well excuse me if I don't keep up with current events.' Howard thought sarcastically.

Back with the fight Skulker pulled out a blaster from its holster and fired several rounds but Danny quickly formed a shield and deflected them back at the hunter ghost. Skulker was able to avoid a few blasts but the last one knocked the gun out of his hand. Skulker quickly tried to grab it but Danny blasted the weapon effectively destroying it.

Angered by this Skulker lunged towards Danny but at the last second charged up his energy and delivered an enhanced roundhouse kick to Skulker's jaw knocking him flat off his back. With his foe down for the count Danny pulled out what looks like an ordinary thermos, but with metallic green and grey details. Danny pressed a button and the thermos fired a blue beam of light that enveloped around Skulker and sucked him inside.

"Well that takes care of that." Danny said as he flew off leaving behind cheering students.

"Whoa. I take it that this happens a lot around here?" Howard asked Sam and Tucker.

"Pretty much every day." They both said.

And from there they began to explain the town's history of ghostly activity that has happened, and Howard was really interested in what was going on.

"Wow this guy sounds really cool." Howard said.

"Don't hold your breath." Came another voice that belongs to a girl with long, curly hair and dark green eyes. She wears a yellow sleeveless shirt and orange skirt with white tennis shoes. She also wears an orange headband, yellow triangular earrings, an orange necklace, and has two bracelets on each wrist, one yellow and the other orange.

This is Valerie Gray. A former member of the A-listers.

"Danny Phantom is just as troublesome as all the ghosts he fights. For all you know he could have been in league with that ghost to make himself look good." Valerie bitterly said as she waked away.

"Ok. What's with her?" Howard asked.

"It's a long story." Sam said.

"Valerie hates Danny Phantom because some time ago he chased a huge ghost dog to Axion, a large laboratory facility where her father worked. When he tried to catch the dog, the two of them cause so much ruckus and damage, that her father lost his job." Tucker explained.

"She used to be part of the A-listers believe it or not." He added.

"Really? She doesn't look anything like the type." Howard asked in surprise.

"Yeah, but after that incident her popularity took a nosedive and the other A-listers kicked her out." Sam said.

"Huh. Sounds like they lived up to their names as the asshole-listers." Howard said earning a chuckle from the two as they walked back towards the school entrance.

"Hey guys. What happened?" Came the voice of Danny who was back in his human form as he walked towards his friends.

"Not much you just missed a fight between two ghosts." Howard said.

"So, what do you guys want to do now that they closed school?" Tucker asked.

"Wait. They close the school when this happens?" Howard asked in surprise.

"It's a new policy, every time there's a ghost attack the area involved is to be closed down depending on damages." Sam explained earning a nod from Howard.

"So what do we do now?" Danny asked.

"Well between you and me I might look around town a bit." Howard said.

"Hey, maybe we can give you a tour of the town. Show you what Amity Park has to offer." Sam offered.

Howard thought about it and nodded his head.

"Sure." Howard answered.

"Cool, meet us over there." Danny said pointing to a nearby tree.

"Alright see you guys there." Howard said and everyone walked inside and went their separate ways.
