-Brick and Blossom start an unlikely friendship after bumping into each other at their dorm showers during a sleepless night. The two start hanging out and coming to each other during the night. Could it possibly be the cure for their insomnia?-
Brick tossed and turned on the small bed provided by his college dormitory. Lately the red ruff was hit by an incurable insomnia that would keep him up for hours. He had found one way to relax, but he really hated the thought of walking into those filthy ass dorm showers. They'd be empty now, he'd at least be alone. He looked at the clock on his nightstand and glared, it was 3:00 in the morning. He growled in frustration and ran his hands through his shoulder length copper hair now matted from his attempts to sleep.
He sat up and put his head in his hands, not really caring about the cleanliness of the showers now. He lazily threw his legs over the side of the bed and got up. He grabbed a towel from his closet and some new sleep shorts. He walked into the hallway and looked around. the building was quiet now and nobody else but him was awake. He walked in the direction of the community dorm showers, they didn't even bother to have separate gender ones because college students were the horniest people on planet earth. He hated the thought of standing where someone was getting previously banged that's for damn sure.
He opened the door to the showers and heard only one stall in use, it was empty enough at least. He entered his own stall and stripped down, turning on the water and sighing in relief. The hot water making his entire body relax. He tilted his head back, letting the water soak his hair. He hummed in approval and closed his eyes, he was almost completely relaxed until he heard someone start singing.
He opened his eyes and raised a brow, the voice was a woman and absolutely beautiful. He felt himself enjoying the sound and leaned against the shower walls. This was so damn relaxing and he felt himself start to fall asleep. He knew the song, but the voice was unrecognizable. She was singing the song creep by radio head, he definitely thought that voice did it justice. He started to hum the tune and eventually started to quietly sing along with her. He turned and pressed a hand against the wall, she was in the stall beside his.
She heard him and he heard her voice freeze in her throat, that wasn't what he was aiming for. He wanted her to continue. "Don't stop on my account... I'm enjoying the music..." He said tiredly. When she actually spoke is when her voice sounded familiar, a little too familiar actually. "Oh.. Um... Thanks... Whoever you are..." She said with a embarrassed sounding voice. "Can't sleep either?" He asked with a chuckle. "Not tonight I'm afraid..." She sounded shy and he couldn't help but smile a little.
"I wish they could find the cure to insomnia..." He said before chuckling. "It would certainly make life easier..." She sounded awkward now. "Am I making you uncomfortable?" He asked cautiously. "No... I've just never really had a conversation in the shower with some random person who heard me singing..." She said with a laugh.
"Would you feel more comfortable if I told you my name?" He never expected to be having a shower conversation this late. "If you want..." She said even more shyly. "I'm Brick... You have a very beautiful voice..." He wanted her to sing again, because that's the closest he's ever gotten to sleeping tonight. "Oh... It's you..." She sounded like she recognized him. "Do I know you?" He asked in confusion. "You could say that..." She giggled now, and he raised a brow.
"I'm curious now, who are you? Don't tempt me to get out and peek at you..." He said playfully. "I'd appreciate you not doing that..." She said with a laugh. "Then who are you?" He smirked, this girl was incredibly interesting. " It's... Blossom..." She said shyly and he looked at the wall in shock. "Oh... Hey there red..." He said with a chuckle, they didn't really feud anymore. They grew up and could coexist fine, in fact they were the only two who went to the same college.
"You come here to try and relax too?" He questioned and heard her hum in agreement. "Yeah, I guess I'm not the only one who takes a shower to relax..." Blossom giggled again. "We are counterparts..." He said with a smirk. "Yes indeed we are..." She turned off her shower and got out. "You leaving?" He asked with a voice that sounded like he didn't want her to. "I was yes... Do... Do you want me to wait here or something?" She sounded shy again. "You don't have to on my account..." He said before catching a glimpse of her through the foggy glass of his stall door.
She was in a towel and he felt his face heat up. "You sound like you don't want me to go..." She said and he watched her brush her hair at the mirror. "Probably because you almost put me to sleep with your singing..." He laughed and she chuckled. "Using me for a free lullabies are you?" She joked. He didn't know why he's never really hung out with her, the girl was actually quite fun to chat with. "I think you're the cure I guess..." He joked back. "Hmm?" She questioned him. "For my insomnia..." He said with a shrug and turned off his own shower.
"My roommate was having sex when I left, that's why I couldn't sleep..." Blossom said with a annoyed sounding voice. "I bunk by myself actually... So I wouldn't know what that's like..." He said before drying his hair and draping the towel around his waist. "That must be nice..." Blossom said turning to him as he was getting out. "Yeah, but it gets lonely as fuck sometimes..." He said while meeting her eyes. "I would appreciate anywhere but mine right now..." Blossom sighed.Should he offer her to bunk with him or something? "You wanna go chill with me in my dorm then? I didn't plan on having sex tonight so you're safe to sleep in there..." He joked, he knew she'd probably say no. "Actually... That doesn't sound like a bad idea... Especially because that girl can go all night if she wanted to..." Blossom said and he looked at her with a look of surprise.
"Uh... Yeah... Just gimme a min to get dressed and shit then..." He said with a shrug. She nodded and both separated to get their clothes on. He finished and came around the corner to the sight of her putting a shirt on. He saw her chest in her bra and quickly covered his eyes to not piss her off. "Oh... Uh... Sorry there..." He said and Blossom laughed again. "It's okay... I know that wasn't on purpose... Most people in here just walk around nude, but I'm not one of them..." Blossom blushed as he uncovered his eyes. "Yeah I'd rather not have my junk oogled by strangers..." He said jokingly and Blossom laughed.
"I'm not a stranger though..." She joked and he cocked a brow playfully. "Are you saying you want to look at me like that then?" He asked playfully. She blushed and he rolled his eyes before smirking. "I'm not that bad actually..." He said with a laugh. He then looked at her and saw she was scanning his shirtless torso. He ,now looking at her, saw she was certainly someone who would be considered attractive actually. He thought she was actually pretty hot too so he didn't mind at all. "I was joking, but look all ya want..." He said and she blushed before taking her gaze away from him.
"I didn't mean to stare..." She said shyly. "Really?" He asked the playfulness returning. I'm serious..." She said with a deeper blush. "Then why did you?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest. "I don't know..." She blushed even more. He shook his head and chuckled "Let's go to my dorm..." He said nodding towards the exit. She followed behind him as they walked to his dorm. She was looking at her stuff in her arms nervously. "Look you don't have to come if you don't want..." He said before opening his door. "I don't really have a choice, so I'm fine thanks..." She said and he nodded before stepping aside to let her in. She walked in and looked around, there was an empty bed, and Brick's bed. He kept the place clean and she mentally appreciated that.
"I got an extra sheet and blanket, I'll let you use one of my pillows if you're comfortable with that..." He said and noticed her looking down shyly. "Thanks for offering your room to me..." She said and he shrugged. "I'm sure you're not gonna make me regret it right? Just let me know when you're up so I can lock the door when you leave..." He said and Blossom nodded before putting her stuff on the desk by the door.
Brick quickly made the empty bed and she sat down on it. She was shivering and he looked at her with concern. "You alright?" He asked and she shrugged. "Are you cold?" He asked and she nodded. "Will the blanket be enough?" He asked and she nodded again. "I'm not used to hospitality like this so you gotta tell me if you aren't comfortable..." He said and Blossom smiled. "I'm okay... really... I'm just awkward because it's like I know you, but I don't... Ya know?" She said and he tilted his head before nodding. "We could get to know each other until one of us falls asleep..." He said sitting on his bed and leaning against the wall.
"That actually sounds really nice..." Blossom said with a smile. "What program are you in here?" He asked laying down and facing her. "Lab technician..." She replied and laid down too, he smirked. "I'm here for the business program, I'm hoping to start my own business so I can do the shit I've always wanted to do..." He said and Blossom nodded. "That's interesting... What are you looking to start?" She asked and he thought for a second. " I've wanted to get into world trade and shit like that, starting up new things in engineering... I always have so many ideas for things that could make the world a better place..." He knew that was crazy.
"What are your ideas? I'm curious..." She said with intrigue in her voice. "Power efficient buildings, self cleaning public washrooms, door knobs and showers to prevent the spread of illness... Shit like that..." He said with a shrug. "That sounds like great ideas actually..." Blossom smiled and he blushed. "Thanks... My brothers say I'm boring as shit..." He said with a laugh and Blossom giggled. "My sisters say the same thing..." Blossom said with a half assed smile.
They ended up talking for quite awhile. He was starting to relax and enjoy her company even more than before. "We should sleep..." He sighed and Blossom agreed. He didn't expect her to start singing again and he closed his eyes. Not long after, both fell asleep.
