Olivia blinked her eyes open in an attempt to get rid of the last moments of sleep. Her heart was filled to the brim in content. It had been a month since the incident; a month since she had finally confessed her feelings to Amanda, she had felt an enormous weight being lifted off of her shoulders. At first, she blamed herself for not doing it sooner, cursing her fears and hesitation resulting in getting lost inside her head and staring off into space until Amanda noticed.
Amanda sat her down and prompted her to talk, reminding her that it was how they had met in the first place; not to mention how good it felt to talk to another person. When Olivia explained what was going through her head, Amanda smiled and took her hands between her own. "You can't let actions of the past eat you away, darling. We can't turn back time." She had pointed out and had captured her lips in a soft kiss. "We have the present and the future now. Yes, we've missed a few days, weeks, months but now we can make sure that we won't miss any more." she pressed her lips on the back of Olivia's hand and pulled her up from the couch. She had led her in the bedroom and showed her how important it was that they were together now, proving her point without trying much. They fit together so well, so effortlessly, like two pieces of a puzzle.
Olivia turned her head slightly and smiled. Amanda was curled around her, snoring softly with her head lodged against Olivia's neck. Her soft breaths tickled Olivia's skin but she enjoyed every moment of it. It took her a few seconds to drift off again, pulling Amanda closer unconsciously.
The next time Olivia woke up, she did so in an empty cold bed. She shot up alarmed looking around for Amanda. Her mind immediately went to places she never wanted to visit again, like the night she thought she had lost Amanda forever. At times she was still struggling to put that behind her. She visibly calmed down when she noticed the clothes strewn around the room. She glanced at the ring on her finger and rolled her eyes at her silly panic. The sunrise reflecting sun rays against the silver of her ring felt like mocking her. The incident had shook Olivia to the core so much that two days after her confession, she asked Amanda to move in with her. The blonde hadn't hesitated. In fact, shortly two weeks later, Amanda had asked Olivia to marry her.
A noise from the kitchen aroused the suspicion of where Amanda had run off to and Olivia, ever the detective, stood to investigate. She barely contained a chuckle when her gaze fell on Amanda's back; music playing from Amanda's phone in low volume and Amanda shaking her body to it as she prepared something, Olivia couldn't see from where she was standing.
She padded closer and wrapped her arms around Amanda's waist. "What are you doing?"
"Oh sorry, baby. I got hungry. Did I wake you?" the blonde asked worriedly. She turned and placed her lips against Olivia's cheek.
"No, darling. What are you making?" Olivia nuzzled the blonde softly and pressed a few kisses on her neck, until she noticed the t-shirt Amanda was wearing and she was not interested in the food anymore. "What are you wearing?"
Amanda grinned sheepishly. "My favorite t-shirt?"
Olivia took a step back and scoffed. "No. That's my favorite t-shirt. I only loaned it to you when you got hurt that day. You never returned it to me." She glared at her accusingly.
"Tough break, Benson. You are not getting it back."
When Olivia kept glaring at her, Amanda groaned. "Watch my eggs for a bit." she instructed and walked back to their room. When she returned, she thrusted a green t-shirt in Olivia's arms with an evil smirk painted across her lips.
"I should have known." Olivia chuckled when she saw the snake and the "Slytherin" printed across the shirt. "It makes so much sense now."
"That's such a Gryffindor thing to say." Amanda grinned, puffing out her chest a bit, teasing Olivia with the Gryffindor logo of her "borrowed" t-shirt.
The two women chuckled, pulling each other closer and sharing a soft kiss. "What do you say we do a Harry Potter marathon since we both have the day off, today?" Amanda suggested, chuckling.
"Breakfast, coffee AND a love for Harry Potter? How lucky am I anyway?" Olivia chuckled, capturing her lips again. A bark cut their affection short. "Someone is jealous." The brunette chuckled and reached down to play with the third member of their little family.
Amanda moved back to her eggs, sparing some glances towards the other two with the fondest smile on her lips. "I am the lucky one, Olivia Benson." she whispered under her breath. Frannie barked again as if she was agreeing with her.
