Later Sonic was in the van driving to Floating Island.

When he got there he jumped down and heard alarms go off.

"Oh come on!" he said and jumped.

"Sees fire! He's friendly!" he heard Knuckles said and they went away. "Hi Sonic."

"Hey Knux."

Then Knuckles looked around.

"Where's Sonia and Manic?" he asked.

"We thought we ended Robuttnik but somehow he got away and while we did that they were killed."

Knuckles gasped.

"I'm so sorry!" he said.

Sonic nodded and looked at him.

"He's still alive. He got away and I was at his base checking to see him yelling at Sleet and Dingo then Roboticized them and someone named Snively now works for him." he said. "I'm going back to Knothole and need your help."

"You know I can't leave."

"Please Knuckles, you're the best I have right now."

Then Knuckles' great grandfather came getting them to jump.

"He's lost his only known family members and will et you help him. "I will take care of the Emerald." he said and they nodded.

"Thank you." Sonic said and looked at Knuckles. "Ready?"

"Let's do it." Knuckles said and hopped onto the van then headed to Knothole.

A few hours later they were there and Sonic looked around to see no one so pulled do a rope and it opened a root.

"Whoa!" Knuckles said.

"Calm down! It's how we get down to hide out." Sonic said so Knuckles nodded and slid down then Sonic did the same.

'Please let me come back.' he thought.

A few seconds later they were in a patch of hey and heard people gasp.

Then they popped their heads up.

"Ulg, I never was a huge fan of this hey. I'd get hey in my hears sometimes!" Sonic said.

"Sonic?" someone said and they looked at them to see Sally.

"Hey guys." Sonic said and they slid down. "I have a new Freedom Fighter with me."

"Really? Who?" Bunnie asked.

"This is my friend Knuckles."

"Knuckles? As in guardian of the Chaos Emerald?" Sally said and they nodded.

"Yeah. I worked with Sonic, Sonia and Manic a few times." Knuckles said.

"Who?" everyone asked.

"My brother and sister." Sonic said and explained everything except being the son of Queen Aleena.

They all nodded.

"We're so sorry Sonic." Sally said.

"That's OK. I have you guys. I came back to end him for good." Sonic said and they nodded.

"OK. You can stay here and don't have to go back into hiding."

Sonic sighed in relief then smiled and nodded.

"I'll probably just keep my medallion on but not use it. But if I have to I will." he said and they nodded then headed to a free hut letting Sonic and Knuckles to have.
