Juniper took a deep breath.
She tried to calm herself down. It wasn't like Ah-Mah was going to hate her for the rest of her life if she tried to flirt with her and then make any future interactions extremely awkward whenever she was going to need help. Yeah, it was definitely not something to worry about whatsoever. Everything was going to be fine and she could always play it off as her joking around if it didn't work.
It didn't lessen her other emotions though. Juniper's heart raced, her hands trembled, her breath was heavy, all from feeling nervous. She didn't know how this was a good idea to act upon, but now she was here, she couldn't back out at this point. Taking one more deep breath, she grabbed the door handle and opened the door. She saw her grandmother inside. June was secretly hoping she wasn't there so she could convince herself she didn't have to do this today but some other time.
Juniper walked inside as she cleared her throat. Jasmine looked in her direction when she walked in. Juniper gulped before saying anything.
"Have you been covered in bees recently?" Jasmine raised an eyebrow at her. "I just assumed, because you look sweeter than honey."
She could only chuckle at her attempts. Juniper blushed, thinking that she wasn't doing it right even though she thought that was a good line to use. She quickly tried to think of another thing to say, hopefully something to sweep her off her feet.
"Hey uh, your eyes are bluer than the Atlantic Ocean and I don't mind being lost at sea!"
"...June, dear, my eyes are brown, I thought you would know this already. Is this how you flirt with everyone?"
"What, me? Flirting with you? Nah!" Juniper panicked, waving her hands. "I'm, uh- Just practicing! Oh, uh, I think this is going off so, um, I gotta take care of magical business! Uh, see ya, Ah-Mah!"
Juniper ran out of the house while her heart pounded and sweat dripped down her face. It was clear she wasn't going to make it out alive if she stayed there, so she escaped as fast as she could before she could make even more of a fool out of herself. Not only that, but if she stayed she might've made everything worse, which she didn't want.
On the other hand, Jasmine could only laugh. June was a terrible flirt, but it didn't mean her trying wasn't adorable and funny.
She made a mental note to teach Juniper how to properly flirt later.
