"I just can't take it anymore." Skye rubbed her temples. She was in the lab with Simmons and Darcy, who was helping out at S.H.I.E.L.D.. Skye was sitting at a table that was covered in paperwork. "It's just paperwork day in and day out. Everyday we get more paperwork."
"I know, I know," said Simmons. "I'm not happy either. But it's got to be done."
"I wish HYDRA was up to something," said Skye. "At least then we'd have something to break up the monotony."
"I'm good actually," said Darcy. "This beats whatever I'd be doing with Dr. Foster."
"Really?" Skye raised an eyebrow.
"I mean I'd like a break too," said Darcy. "Though probably not by fighting HYDRA. I'd rather be at a beach somewhere. Or at Vegas."
"That's not a bad idea," said Skye as she filed away another piece of paper. "I wouldn't mind laying on a beach in a bikini with cute guys walking by. Sipping on a margarita. Somewhere nice and sunny."
"I know," said Darcy. "That sounds great."
"Too bad S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't assign us to go on vacation," said Skye. She went back to filling out paper work with Darcy. Simmons scratched her chin and went over to her computer. She began typing away.
By now the paper work was almost done. "Thank god, it's almost over."
"For today," said Skye. "We're going to get another load tomorrow and I bet it's going to be bigger than today's."
"Can you be just a little bit positive?" said Darcy.
Skye looked around the lab. "Hey, where's Simmons?"
"I don't know," said Darcy.
"My god, we've been busting our asses doing paperwork and she just goes and disappears on us," said Skye. "When she comes back I'm going to wring her neck."
"Whose neck are you going to wring?" said Simmons, who had just reentered the lab. In her hands she held a laptop.
"You wouldn't know her," said Skye, her face turning red.
"I've been thinking about the issue you two mentioned earlier and I think I've found a solution," said Simmons.
"What issue?" said Skye.
"First you have to follow me." Simmons walked out of the lab. Skye and Darcy got out of their seats and followed her. Simmons lead them down the hallway. It twisted and turned. Eventually they reached an annex that was near a supply closet. Simmons looked around, making sure no one else was there.
"So why are we here?" said Darcy.
"Because there are no cameras or listening devices at this location," said Simmons. "It's a total blindspot."
"Okay," said Skye. "So why do we need to be in a blindspot?"
"Well, what I'm suggesting we do is probably going to get us into trouble with the higher ups if they find out," said Simmons. She opened her laptop and showed it to the other women. On the screen was a website that advertised a hotel resort. It showed a picture of a luxurious looking building that overlooked the sea. "What do you think of this?"
"It'd be nice if we could go there," said Skye. "But we can't."
"But what if we could?" said Simmons.
"Well, it would be fun," said Darcy. "But we can't."
"But we can," said Simmons. "I think I found a way to get the three of us a vacation and have S.H.I.E.L.D. pay for it."
"Explain," said Skye.
"We just need to convince Coulson that there's a Kree artifact at this hotel and there we have to discreetly remove it from there," said Simmons. "You can suggest to him that we go undercover as resort goers to pick up the item."
"Alright," said Skye. "I can follow that, but how do we convince him that there's a Kree artifact at the hotel."
Simmons pressed some buttons. On the screen a map appears. At the center of the map was a blue dot. "I've already forged the energy signal. There's also a bunch of Kree tech that we still need to process. We can give Coulson one of those items and pass it off as something we picked up at the hotel."
Skye nodded her head. "Okay, that looks convincing. But I don't know if it will fool Coulson."
"You underestimate my abilities with the computer," said Simmons. "I can make anything look convincing."
"And what should I do?" said Darcy.
"Nothing," said Simmons. "Just enjoy our free vacation."
"I still don't think this will work," said Skye.
"Trust me," said Simmons.
Coulson sat in the chair in his office looked at the screen. "So, tell me what I'm looking at."
"Well appears to be a Kree energy signature," said Simmons. "It's nothing too powerful. It won't end the world or cause any mass damage. I think it's some tech that just so happened to land there. We just need to retrieve it."
"What do you need for that?" said Coulson.
"Just me," said Simmons. She motioned towards Darcy and Skye who stood behind her. "And maybe a lab assistant. And protection of course. I don't expect anything major to happen. I looked it up and apparently the energy signature is coming from a hotel. Still, it doesn't hurt to be prepared."
"Of course," said Coulson.
"So for this mission I'll just need Darcy and Skye," said Simmons.
Skye sighed. "Look, I don't want to go on any missions right now. I've got a lot of paperwork to do. And like she said, there's a low risk for danger."
"Just because there's a low risk, doesn't mean there's not risk," said Coulson. "And if the problem is paperwork, I can get someone to cover for you."
"Really?" said Skye.
"Yes," said Coulson. "Now you three get to that hotel."
"Should we have some kind of cover?" said Simmons. "Maybe we should pretend to be guests?"
"Sure," said Coulson. "S.H.I.E.L.D. will pay for your tickets and any other expenses."
Skye, Simmons, and Darcy were all in the changing rooms of a department store. They'd decided to buy some new swimsuits, all on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s dollar. As Skye slipped into a bikini, she spoke. "I can't believe your plan worked."
"You'd be surprised how many people get fooled when you show them random data," said Simmons.
"Well I'm grateful that Coulson didn't look twice at your data," said Darcy.
Skye looked at herself in the mirror. "So girls what do you think?"
Skye strutted out of her changing room. She was wearing a black bikini. Simmons and Darcy peered out from their changing rooms. "That looks great on you."
"Thanks," said Skye. "Let's see how yours looks on you."
"Okay." Simmons walked out of her changing room. She was wearing a leopard print bikini. She awkwardly swayed her hips to the side.
"Not bad, not bad," said Skye.
"Thanks." Simmons turned around to go back to her changing room. Skye's eyes widened to see Simmons was wearing a thong
"Wow, you're wearing a thong?" said Skye.
"Yeah," said Simmons, her cheeks turning red. "Should I not have?"
"No," said Skye. "You're pulling it off."
"Oh thank you," said Simmons.
"I just didn't expect you to be the kind of girl to wear a thong," said Skye.
"So, how do I look?" Darcy opened the door of her changing room. She was wearing a dark blue one piece, that had a large circle cut out of the center, which exposed the underside of her cleavage.
"That looks good on you," said Skye.
"Uh-huh," said Simmons.
"Really? There aren't a lot of swimsuits that fit me." Darcy pointed to her chest. "I just picked the first one that did."
"Yeah, we figured," said Skye. "But you're pulling it off."
"Great," said Darcy.
"Well, I think we know what we're going to wear," said Skye. "Let's check out and remember to thank Coulson for agreeing to fund this."
"I can't believe you get to go to a hotel," said Fitz. He and Simmons were in the lab.
"I'm sorry," said Simmons. "But Coulson made us go. If it were up to me I'd be filling out paperwork with you."
Fitz raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
"You know it's true," said Simmons. "I can't stand the thought of you doing work while I'm off at a resort. Though I won't have too much time to relax. We have to recover a Kree artifact."
"Well stay safe," said Fitz.
"And don't work too hard." Simmons exited the lab. She found Skye and Darcy waiting for her outside. "I'm ready."
"Same," said Skye and Darcy in unison.
"Let's go then," said Simmons.
"Wait just a moment." The three all turned their heads to see Coulson standing behind them.
"Is something wrong?" said Skye.
"No," said Coulson. "It's just that you guys have been working hard lately."
"Thanks," said Simmons.
"We appreciate it," said Coulson. "And I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you to enjoy your time at this resort."
"Really?" said Skye.
"Yes," said Coulson. "Take your time with recovering this artifact. Take a few days if you have to."
"Okay," said Skye. "Thanks."
"Yeah, thanks," said Darcy. The three then walked off down the hallway.
