Here's my first story of the prequel series to The Yokai Hunter, Birth of the Hunter, based on the Gegege No Kitaro Universe created by Shigeru Mizuki ( all rights belong to him and Toei Animation ). Have a good reading !

(In the evening, in Tokyo, in a hideout run by Yakuza)

Section chief (arriving at the hideout): So, is there a problem?

Yakuza (1): We have finished transporting the cargo, as warned.

Yakuza (2): But we also found this little black girl spying on us in the distance.

Little girl: Let go of me!

section chief (seeing the little girl): A foreigner ...

Yakuza (3): And checking her cell phone, her address is in 75, Debouin Street.

Section Chief: Put her on a chair and bring a camera! I hope they get a good sum of money if they care about their life like this girl's.

Yakuza (4): Right away.

Yakuza (5, arriving with a colleague who was pierced by metal needles): Boss, guys!

Yakuza (2): But who did this to her?

Yakuza (5): I don't know. It happened so quickly and she ended up like this.

Yakuza (1, seeing the needles): Hey, look at this!

(the metal needles became pieces of hair that came loose from the Yakuza's body)

Head of Section: What ... What is it that just happened?

Little girl (seeing what just happened): No ...

Yakuza (6, injured): Do you know something about what attacked me, child ?!

Little girl: In my school, a lot of children talk about it. it seems that there is a boy who wanders in the city, night and day. He appears when someone is in danger and is said to have supernatural powers including using his hair as a weapon. (the yakuza looked at each other questioningly) We don't really know what he looks like but those who would have potentially seen him did this. (She showed a drawing of a small person with one eye visible but only the upper part of the body is well drawn while the lower part is completely scribbled.)

Head of Section: Are you kidding us? (the yakuza started to laugh) Are you suggesting that what attacked my colleague was some kind of vigilante or nocturne monster ?! Pfff, what a fertile imagination ...

Little girl: But ...

(The Yakuza started to laugh but suddenly some kind of projectile hit one of them and he collapsed to the ground. The projectile was made up of hair)

Section chief (taking out his weapon like his colleagues): Show yourself ! Whoever or Whatever you are ! (a silhouette passed from the shadows) Show yourself or we kill the little girl!

(Only, in no time, the figure grabbed and cut in half one of the Yakuza with what appears to be an enlarged hair held like a sword. In front of this, the chief pointed the gun at the little girl and ...)

? (appearing between the chief and the girl, shielding the latter from the bullet): Nurikabe!

Yakuza (5, seeing the gigantic block of living stone in front of him): But what is this thing ?!

(But barely, he wonders, the figure threw a hair at him in the form of a spear which pierced him and in confusion, while the chief and his colleagues tried to attack the block of stone, the sihouette appeared in front of them and pulled from his head his hair which turns into metal needles which pierced the chief and his colleagues who collapsed to the ground)

Little girl (seeing the block of stone and the figure turning towards her): Don't hurt me, I didn't do anything. I...

Nurikabe: Don't be afraid anymore, child. We have come to save you.

?: The exit is right here. Once out, the police will take you home. Go! (he was about to go out the window as Nurikabe passed through the floor but ...)

Little Girl: Wait! Who are you ?!

?: I am the one who protects humans from what is beyond them. Now go!

(He left and the girl left the hideout and was taken away by the police to go home)

( The day after )

?: Coralie! We need to talk !

Coralie: I'm coming! (she went downstairs) What do you want to talk to me about?

Grandma of Coralie: Regarding last night. Although we are relieved that you are safe, yet you were told to come back before sunset.

Grandpa of Coralie: Are you aware that it's dangerous to be outside late at night, especially at your age?

Coralie: I know. I shouldn't have stayed outside that long at night, so I was captured by the yakuza but they were doing some weird activity, which I wanted to keep in my mobile phone by taking pictures before my capture. Finally, I was saved and you will never guess by whom.

Grandpa of Coralie: Who?

Coralie: The one we call the Hunter among the rumors.

Grandma of Coralie: Oh, for heaven's sake ...

Coralie: He was lurking in the shadows and eliminated the Yakuza as if they were nothing and with his ally in the form of a giant brick ...

Grandpa of Coralie: ("small laugh) Or, it's just a person and a friend of his who came to save you in time.

Coralie: But ...

Grandpa of Coralie: Listen, I know that you are passionate about something, namely legends and that's not a bad thing. Only, it remains what they are: Legends, which do not exist in real life. You're still a child and you have the right to be interested in something, even that, but that shouldn't be the only thing you need to worry about, okay?

Coralie: Yes ... I imagine ...

Grandma of Coralie: And now, come eat your breakfast and get ready to go to school.

( Meanwhile )

Policeman: The 4th time this week.

Policewoman: Just Yakuza and we found hair everywhere.

?: Any idea from the person (s) responsible for this?

Policeman: The Ayano twins.

Inspector Ayano (brother): We were given this case, sir and madam agents.

Inspector Ayano (sister): So do you have any idea who might have done this massacre?

Policeman: We think of a serial killer, inspectors, ...

Policewoman: But the only witnesses are the children who were hostages of the yakuza and the majority are traumatized. Poor little ones ...

Inspector Ayano (brother): We will talk to these children but before ...

Inspector Ayano (sister): We would like to know their names and the school they attend.

(At school, Coralie and the students in her class each draw a drawing for the drawing class)

Schoolgirl (whispering): It mustn't have been fun being a prisoner of the Yakuza. Especially since they are much more active lately and also this "Hunter" that the news are talking about ...

Coralie (idem): Exactly ... There is something that I am going to tell you and keep it secret but ... (her neighbor listened) I saw this "Hunter" with an ally of his and he spoke to me.

Schoolgirl: YOU TALKED WITH THE ...

Teacher: Is there a problem?

Schoolgirl: Uh ... No, no. It wasn't much, sorry.

Teacher: In that case, go back to your work. (the schoolgirl complied)

Coralie (whispering): A little more and everyone would have known that and I'm not in the mood to be the center of attention.

Schoolgirl (idem): Yes but still, speaking with the "Hunter", it is a rare chance that few people having discovered him did not have.

Coralie (idem): To be honest, I don't know. We didn't talk for long ...

Teacher (hearing the bells): All right, kids. The course is over, you can return your drawings to me.

(The students returned the pictures to her before leaving the classroom.)

Teacher: Let's see ... Coralie drew a very nice drawing. Her neighbor is not bad. The Ayashi brothers actually have a very handsome one each, ...

(she saw a strange drawing showing a dark figure of which only the right eye is visible and if the upper part of the body is well drawn, the lower one is scribbled but going through the drawings, she found the same as the one she saw )

Teacher: What the ..

(Towards the end of school)

Grandpa of Coralie: So, Coralie. It went well ?!

Coralie: It was fine ... Until the police arrived and questioned the majority of the students about the events of last night.

Grandma of Coralie: (sigh) It's starting to get tiring, this story ... What if we went to eat somewhere, at a restaurant, for example?

Grandpa of Coralie: That's a good idea. Are we going, Coralie ?!

Coralie: Let's go!

(In a restaurant, a young boy goes to the kitchen to get some food but is spotted)

Yakuza (1): Hey, you. This restaurant belongs to the Yakuza, you have nothing to do here. (no response) Hey, brat, did you listen to me?

? (grabbing his hand and cracking it when the Yakuza was about to put his hand on him): I heard you but I don't care!

Yakuza (2): You pesky little kid! Guys, let's go teach him a lesson!

(therefore, the young boy confronts the Yakuza in the kitchen and after a time when the latter has pushed back some of them, he uses a kitchen knife to attack again. On the side of Coralie and her family...)

Grandma of Coralie: Ah, here's a restaurant.

Grandpa of Coralie: And in view of the smell, it seems to smell good.

Coralie (noticed a boy leaving an alley with his stained vest and hood): Grandpa, Grandma. Look, this boy is stained with blood.

Grandma of Coralie (going to the boy with Coralie and her husband): Are you okay, little guy? Were you hurt to have that blood on you?

?: It's not really blood, it's gravy. It splashed and I got it on me.

Grandpa of Coralie: Are you going away with that cardigan in this state?

?: I'm going to go and clean it up at my place. Now if you don't mind, I have to go.

Coralie: Wait ... (she looked at the only visible eye of the boy behind the hood.

? (after a short silence): No, I've never met you before. Good day. (he leaves)

Grandma of Coralie: It's a special case, this little one.

Grandpa of Coralie: At least he has a minimum of politeness.

Coralie (thinking): Something is wrong.

Chef (arriving with his employees): Oh, hello sir and ladies. What can we do for you?

Grandpa of Coralie: You must be the cooks, right? We thought you were in the kitchen, because of the smell ...

Employee (1): What do you mean? We were in the middle of a break. And what smell? The kitchen is supposed to be unusable during this time.

Grandma of Coralie: So why is there this smell coming from the restaurant?

Chef (deducting what is happening): Someone broke in! Who has the key to the door?

Employee (2, opening the door with the key): I'll take care of it.

(They saw with horror some Yakuza planted on the wall by Asian chopsticks, another with a hole due to a bladed weapon on the back and another, disembowelled and therefore the intestines roasted on a grill causing the corpse to react)

(Several minutes later, the police put the building under investigation)

Inspector Ayano (brother): So, according to you, The Yakuza broke into your restaurant ...

Inspector Ayano (sister): And you found them in this state without knowing who would have done it?

Chef: Yes, we were in the middle of a break and at this time, the building is supposed to be closed.

Employee: We saw the bodies, along with the clients we were going to serve, namely this family.

Inspector Ayano (sister): Very well, thank you for your testimony.

Inspector Ayano (brother): We will take care of the family now.

(They walked over to Coralie and her grandparents)

Inspector Ayano (brother): Good morning, sir and madam and Hello again to your granddaughter.

Inspector Ayano (sister): Could you tell us what you were doing before discovering the bodies?

Grandma of Coralie: We came to pick up our daughter from school and then we decided on a place to eat.

Grandpa of Coralie: We had arrived in front of this restaurant and we smelled a smell coming from inside but we did not know that there were corpses in the restaurant.

Coralie: And before the staff arrived, we met a mysterious boy. He was stained with blood and left after a short discussion to see if he was okay.

Inspector Ayano (sister): A boy, you say?

Inspector Ayano (brother): And what did this mysterious boy look like?

Coralie: he was more or less my height, in the 1m30, he wore getas and a gray vest stained with blood whose hood hid the whole of his face and only his right eye is visible.

Inspector Ayano (brother): We see ...

Inspector Ayano (sister): Thanks for that info, kid. We will save this description for research.

Grandma of Coralie: What now?

Inspector Ayano (sister): We are going to deal with this case but we do not forget the problem of the Yakuza.

Inspector Ayano (brother): As for you, you can continue your activities but we advise you to stay out of trouble. We don't want you to be among the new victims.

(Coralie and her family left)

Grandma of Coralie: It had to happen.

Papy de Coralie: Too bad we couldn't be served because of that.

Coralie: But where are we going?

Grandma of Coralie: In another restaurant, of course. It's not like there's just one in a city as big as Tokyo.

Grandpa of Coralie: So, Coralie, are we going?

Coralie: Let's go!

(In the evening, near a metro stop)

Young woman (on the phone): Yeah, I know, honey. I will be here in a short time. I just have to take the metro and it's okay. Goodbye ! (she picked up but didn't realize the presence behind her)

?: Grrrrr ...

Young woman: Who is there? (saw the strange person) But what are you ...? (she noticed the stranger's hand which was anything but human) My god ...

(and there, directly, a young hooded boy rushed at the strange person who was about to attack the girl while the Inspectors Ayano heard in the distance what was happening. person against the wall letting blood flow and purple smoke from the corpse which subsequently disappeared)

Young woman: But .. what was that ?!

?: Something that is beyond you. If I hadn't intervened, who knows what he would have done to you.

Young woman: Wait .. (she opened a photo showing the Hunter wanted poster and looked at the boy) But it's you! Police ! POLICE !

?: No, wait ... (but seeing the inspectors arrive, he fled by the metro stop

Inspector Ayano (sister): We are here, ma'am. Inspectors Ayano, to serve you.

Inspector Ayano (brother): What's wrong?

Young woman: I saw the one named "Hunter", He passed by the metro stop

Inspector Ayano (brother): Please go and join a nearest agent to help you

Inspector Ayano (sister): We take care of this "Hunter".

(they went to the metro stop)

Inspector Ayano (sister): Hey, you! TMPD (Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department) Ayano inspectors!

Inspector Ayano (brother): Stay where you are!

(They chased the hooded boy into the metro stop. Once inside the station, the Inspectors continued to chase the boy through the hallways full of passers-by and even entering the shops inside to try to stop him. Finally, they arrived near the rails but as the boy was about to enter a subway, one of the inspectors shot at the ground next to the latter's feet and they pointed their guns at him)

Inspector Ayano (brother): That's enough, "Hunter". You put your hands in the air ...

Inspector Ayano (sister): ... And you immediately follow us to the police station!

?: And why ?!

Inspector Ayano (sister): You are wanted for murder and for self-justice.

Inspector Ayano (brother): Come on, my little one. Cooperate if you don't want to make your case worse!

?: There is another danger lurking in the city and it is completely beyond you.

Inspector Ayano (brother): If it has to do with the Yakuza, ...

Inspector Ayano (sister): We'll take care of it very well.

?: You don't know anything about what's going on, besides the Yakuza.

Inspector Ayano (sister): For the moment, you are the only one to think so.

Inspector Ayano (brother): Now follow us immediately!

?: Who tells you that I am always alone?

(And there, the little figure deactivated the electric generator at the subway station, turning off the lights and the power for the subways. The inspectors used their flashlights and crossed the tracks to try to catch up with the boy. The little figure reactivated. the electricity before coming back to the boy and the subways work again. The inspectors quickly got off the tracks to avoid one of the subways and saw, in a shadowy area, the only visible eye of the boy before disappearing)

Inspector Ayano (brother): He escaped us but not for long.

Inspector Ayano (sister): Let's step up the search! Sooner or later we'll get him.

( the day after )

Coralie (going to school): I find it weird, all these events. several Yakuza murders, those strange drawings at school, that boy we saw in front of the restaurant ... (as she passed the forest, she felt her satchel drop from her back) But what the hell. .. (she saw her satchel disappear into the forest) Hey! (she entered the forest)

(1h later)

Grandpa of Coralie (hearing the phone ring): I'll take care of it! (he picked up the phone) Hello ?!

Teacher: Hello, are you close to Coralie?

Grandpa of Coralie: Yes, I am his grandfather. There is a problem ?

Teacher: Yes, Coralie was not present today in class.

Grandpa of Coralie: I beg your pardon ?!

Grandma of Coralie: What's going on ?!

Grandpa of Coralie (turning to his wife): According to the teacher, Coralie is not at school.

Grandma of Coralie: What do you mean? The last time I saw her she was crossing the street and she looked like she was on her way to school.

Grandpa of Coralie: Weird ...

Teacher: Sir?

Grandpa of Coralie (answering the phone): Uh, yes ... We will take care of that and she will be at school, as soon as possible. Good day ! (he hung up the phone) I'll go get her. She can't be far, I hope.

Grandma of Coralie: I'm coming with you. Where did she get into trouble again ?!

( Meanwhile... )

Coralie (pursuing the creatures who took their things): Give me back my satchel! Are you deaf ?!

Ten (1): Hey, come get it, your schoolbag. (he threw it on the branch of a big tree)

Ten (2): Try to catch him now!

Coralie (trying to grab her things): No, but are you serious ?! It's no longer funny now!

Ten (2): Hey, watch how she jumps to catch her tool.

Ten (1): Humans are so fun to trap.

? (1, behind the two Ten): Give him his things if you don't want to get in trouble. (noticing the small figure behind the first one, the Ten ended up taking down the satchel so that Coralie could take it back)

? (2): And now, get out! (the Ten leave)

Coralie: Thank you. They took my satchel and they forced me to go into the forest ... (the old lady hit her on the head with her cane) Ouch!

? (1): It's very unconscious of you to go into the Gegege Forest on your own. You could even have been killed.

? (2): Nevertheless, you are safe. I'm Gegege No Kitaro, or just Kitaro, if you like. And, with Sunakake, we live here.

Coralie: Kitaro ... (she looked at him and seeing the only visible eye of Kitaro and his getas, she made a revelation) Wait ... It was you. (Kitaro looked questioningly) The "Hunter and the boy with the bloody hood, that was you. (She started to take Kitaro's cheeks, see them pinch) I can't believe you really exist. We are. talks about you a lot like an urban legend but the fact that you are in front of me in flesh and blood ...

Kitaro: Thank you, but can you stop pinching me !?

? (3, coming out of Kitaro's hair): Can you now let go of my son's cheeks ?!

Coralie (letting go of Kitaro's cheeks): Argh ! A living eye ... Wait, this living eye is Kitaro's father?

? (3): We can say that. My name is Medama-Oyaji and despite my small size, I remain a good guide for my son.

Coralie: Okay ... I ... My name is Coralie. I live here in Tokyo with my grandparents.

Sunakake-Babaa: I see but it is better not to stay there. Instead, let's go home to have a better conversation in safety.

Medama-Oyaji: Above all, don't take your eyes off us, Coraline. The forest remains dangerous.

Coralie: Oh, uh ... Ok ...

(Coralie followed Kitaro, Medama and Sunakake to their tree house)

Medama-Oyaji: There we are. here is our house

Coralie: A treehouse ? And in front of a lake, in addition ?!

Nurikabe (seeing Kitaro and co arrived far away): Ah, here they are!

? (ditto): And I also see that they brought a human child with them.

Nurikabe: Yes, Ittan-Momen, and I recognize her. This is the girl that me and Kitaro saved from the Yakuza. We will quickly find out why she is here.

(they entered the treehouse with Kitaro and co and chatted)

Coralie: So ... Your son and all of you are fighting the Yokais who attack humans ?!

Medama-Oyaji: And also some humans doing bad things but we agreed to just neutralize them (he turned to Kitaro) and not kill them!

Kitaro: The Yakuza were going to kill Coralie anyway and in the restaurant they wanted to kill me. I wasn't going to let them do it anyway.

Nurikabe: Especially since in the case of Coralie, we had little time to react.

Sunakake-Babaa: We understand but we agreed on that. (she turned to Coralie) Speaking of the Yakuza, was there anything other than just a ransom and because you were spying on them that they kidnapped you ?!

Coralie: Surely, when we arrived here, we felt disoriented because it was as if it was another world and one day ... We accepted a deal to have protection with people ... 'we knew a little too late that they were Yakuza.

Ittan-Momen: Did you do business with the Yakuza ?!

Coralie: Yes, but we didn't have a lot of choice. When we finally cut ties with them, we were afraid of what they might do to us afterwards. And the gang that took me prisoner was an isolated Yakuza group, but even we don't have much support after we no longer supported these criminals.

Kitaro: There is in Tokyo, the JAR (Japan Association for Refugies), an association that deals with refugees and their protection. You can go there so they can help you. (Coralie looked questioningly) You have to know the city well if you want to protect it.

Medama-Oyaji: Especially, in addition, to avoid the police who are not blind to the events. If not, where are your grandparents?

Coralie (started to panic): ... Oh no ! I should have been at school for a long time and they must have called them and they went to get me!

(In the Yakuza HQ)

Yakuza Leader (angry): Are you trying to tell me that a good portion of my men have been slaughtered by a kid, calling himself the Hunter, who is hiding behind a vest and hood ?!

Yakuza (1): Unfortunately, yes ...

Yakuza (2): And we also lost the little girl from this family who ended our protection.

Yakuza Leader: You fools ... out of my sight and come back to me when you have better news! (they left)

Bodyguard: All of our members have been energized since this Hunter has been active. It must be hard for you to put up with all this

Yakuza Leader: First the cops and their inspectors, then this family of strangers and now this. What will the next step be ?! That this Hunter has superpowers ?!

Bodyguard: Any suggestions, ma'am ?!

Yakuza Leader: We must strengthen our hideouts as well as the safety of these and our men. We haven't run this town for quite a while for a kid to decide he's a vigilante.

Bodyguard: I imagine .. Nevertheless, I have a proposal to ask you ...

Yakuza Leader: Well, go ahead. I wait.

Bodyguard (hiding a holster): Madam, I wanted to tell you that ...

Yakuza (3): Head! Sorry to bother you but ...

Yakuza (4): We saw the girl's grandparents in front of the forest. They must surely be looking for her.

Yakuza Leader: In that case, we know how we can bring this Hunter and get rid of him. Get the members together in the meeting room, I have something to say to all of you.

Yakuza (3 and 4): Right away, Madam.

Yakuza Leader: Once this whole thing is over, I'll be all ears to your suggestion.

Bodyguard: Of course, Chief ...

(On the side of Coralie's grandparents)

Grandpa de Coralie: Coralie? ! Coralie, where are you?

Grandma de Coralie: She will be in serious trouble if she ever comes back at night. Coralie ?!

(From Coralie's side)

Sunakake-Babaa (seeing Coralie leaving at full speed): Easy, Coralie. The forest is always dangerous.

Coralie: Sorry but I have to go quickly or things will go badly for me!

Ittan-Momen: Are you sure you don't want me to take you straight out of the forest?

Coralie: No, I can get out of it. Just tell me how to find the exit.

Medama-Oyaji: In this case, especially do not leave the dirt road otherwise you will find yourself lost in the forest and you could end up in danger.

Coralie: Thanks for the advice! I am leaving, goodbye ! (she follows the path and leaves)

Kitaro: And she's gone. Hoping she's gonna be okay.

Nurikabe: That's what I hope too ...

(On the side of Coralie's grandparents)

Grandpa of Coralie: What if she was in the forest ?!

Grandma of Coralie: I don't know ... It seems gloomy and I would be surprised if ... (she saw Coralie coming out of the forest) Coralie! Do you know that you must have been at school for a long time ?!

Coralie: It's just that .. My satchel was ...

Grandma of Coralie: No story! We'll take you to school right away !

Grandpa of Coralie: And after school, you will owe us explanations.

Coralie: Ok ...

(The grandparents took Coralie to school and school and during recess)

Student (1): Monsters in the forest, you say?

Coralie: Yes, they stole my satchel just to make fun of me and then there was again this Hunter who came to help me but he was not alone.

Student (2): It's still pretty crazy, your story. Especially to justify your delay.

Coralie: But he told me his name and it's ... Gegege No Kitaro, I think ...

Student (1), Student (1, 2 and 3): Kitaro ?!

Coralie: Did you know him ?!

Student (1): Maybe not personally, but we heard about the incident in a school where he was at the school party.

Student (2): It is said that he would have gone wild and started attacking those who would have hurt him for a long time, some of these people were seriously injured ...

Student (1): And then he left and when the police tried to find him, it was as if he had disappeared forever for this city.

Coralie: You sound like he's an urban legend.

Student (3): Mainly, because we have little evidence or traces of his presence. We'll keep this a secret, of course. However, good luck with your grandparents.

Coralie: Mouis ... I hope you are right ... Thank you ...

(After school, Coralie returned home with her grandparents and once back)

Papi de Coralie: Well, Coralie. Explain to us why you weren't at school before we picked you up ?!

Grandma de Coralie: And also, what exactly were you doing in the forest during this time ?!

Coralie: Well ... Strange creatures stole my satchel and then there was this Hunter and an ally of his who came to help me take him back

Grandma de Coralie: This story again ?!

Coralie: But that's not all. His allies are actually an old lady, a giant brick, a kind of giant paper that serves as a transport, and also his father, who is a little eye on a tiny human body. The Hunter even told me his name: it's Gegege No Kitaro ...

Papi de Coralie: Coralie ... Kitaro is only a recent urban legend of this country, nothing more. Maybe it was the boy from yesterday who was walking with some of his friends and helped you get your schoolbag. However, it doesn't change the fact that you were more than 1 hour late for school

Coralie: But ...

Grandma de Coralie: No but, young girl! We no longer want to hear about this story of monsters, Hunter, urban legends or even this Kitaro.

Coralie: Very well ... Since you don't believe me, that's your problem. I told you the truth but you only distort it. So, good night and you can forget my part for dinner, I'm not hungry!

Grandpa of Coralie: Coralie, ...

(Coralie went up to her room, annoyed)

(on Kitaro's side, during the evening)

Kitaro: Once again, Father, whatever method I use, there are some people who don't deserve to live, especially if to them life is worthless.

Medama-Oyaji: Kitaro, I was satisfied with the fact that you want there to be justice for humans as well as for Yokai and that one day there will be coexistence between the two but this violent method can also put you in danger, including us.

Kitaro: And what do you want me to do? You have an idea ?

Medama-Oyaji: I would like to know if, at least for humans, you promise to just neutralize them without killing them.

Kitaro: You know very well, Father, that you offer me a promise that is difficult to keep?

Medama-Oyaji: I'm aware of that, Kitaro, but I don't want you to get caught by the city police even with the help of Ittan, Nurikabe, and Sunakake. Well ?!

Kitaro: ("sigh") I don't see how I could do it but ... Alright, I'll do it.

Medama-Oyaji: I am glad that you are understanding, my son, and I know that you will get there.

Kitaro: I know, Father .. I know ...

(On Coralie's side, in her room)

Coralie (bored and trying to study): ("sigh") I can't study. I'm just thinking about what I told them earlier. Maybe I should apologize ... (She was about to leave her room when she heard voices, not appearing to be her grandparents. She opened the door slightly and left) But what's going on, down there ?!

(She looked discreetly to see what was going on and noticed her grandparents being held hostage by a group of Yakuza)

Yakuza (1): They refuse to say where their granddaughter is.

Yakuza (2): Maybe we can insist even more until they crack ...

Yakuza (3): Or in this case, we will be forced to check the floor above and go through everything with a fine comb, even possible hiding places.

(Discreetly, Coralie, seeing that going down is not a good idea, she decided to go through her bedroom window to get out of the house but ...)

Coralie (receiving the wind on her and slamming the door of her room): Damn, the wind!

Yakuza (2, hearing Coralie's voice and the door slamming): It was from the floor above

Yakuza (1): She's up there!

Coralie's grandpa and grandma: Coralie, save yourself!

(Coralie passed the window as the Yakuza entered her room. She lowered the pipe but fell to the ground after her hands slipped on the pipe for a little while. Coralie fled, with the Yakuza after her, and walked towards the forest)

Coralie (arriving in front of the forest): Here is the Gegege forest. I can try to orient myself with the light of my mobile phone but how do I know ... (she remembers the advice Medama had told her before she left the forest) Of course, the dirt road! I must I must follow the path so as not to get lost!

(She walked through the forest following the dirt road using the light from her mobile phone while the Yakuza tracked her. Coralie tried to get rid of the Yakuza by using the environment, like stones or by using the branches, but that was only temporarily. After a while, Coralie hid behind a tree and tripped her pursuers with her foot and they fell into a pit that was hidden and resumed her journey)

Coralie (seeing the tree house): Kitaro's house is here, finally. Not a moment to lose!

(After a little while, on Kitaro's side)

Medama-Oyaji (hearing someone hearing knocking on the door): Kitaro? Kitaro !

Kitaro (waking up): Father, what's wrong?

Medama-Oyaji: Someone is knocking on the door. Let's go see who it is.

(while there is still a knock on the door, Kitaro quickly puts on his clothes and goes to open the door)

Kitaro: Coralie ?! What are you doing there in the middle of the night ?!

Coralie (desperate): Kitaro, Medama. You have to help me!

Medama-Oyaji: Calm down, Coralie. What's the matter ?!

Coralie: The Yakuza ... They kidnapped my grandparents and they almost did the same with me!

Kitaro: Okay. Do you have any idea where they might have taken your grandparents ?!

Coralie: Well, .. Either in their HQ or in the docks, since the majority of their nocturnal activity takes place there.

Medama-Oyaji: It is not much, but it is sufficient for research. We should start with the docks.

Coralie: But it's madness. This place is very well guarded by the Yakuza. With just the two of you, you won't ...

Kitaro: Say no more! We're all gonna come help you.

Coralie: Really ?! You all ?! In that case ... I guess I can help too. Well, discreetly, of course. Because I certainly managed to sow some of them but if I get out of the forest, there is a risk that I will get caught and if I stay here, I will remain easy prey for the Yokais around.

Medama-Oyaji: It's clear whether it's over there or here, you would still be in danger. If you also want to help, it is better if you are accompanied during the rescue. Kitaro, you can call Ittan.

Kitaro: Okay, Father. Ittan!

Ittan-Momen (arriving): Yes, Kitaro?

Kitaro: Tell Nurikabe and Sunakake that we're all heading for the docks! We have to save Coralie's grandparents.

Ittan-Momen: Right away! (and he quickly went to get Nurikabe and Sunakake)

( Much later )

Coralie: Here we are! Here are the docks.

Sunakake (observing) -Babaa: Mmmm, indeed. The place is very well protected by the Yakuza.

Medama-Oyaji: Their nocturnal activity is therefore human trafficking, which explains the kidnappings.

Nurikabe (indicating a group of Yakuza bringing prisoners): Look over there! They seem to be bringing people into this container.

Ittan-Momen: Well done, Nurikabe. But this is the part best kept by the Yakuza.

Kitaro: We will have to divide into two groups. Ittan, Father and I will take care of the guards above the containers and you 3, you take care of those below and reach the container.

Sunakake: You can count on us.

Nurikabe: We won't leave any Yakuza in our path.

Coralie: Uh ... Kitaro, ... Be careful though.

Kitaro: Same for you. Here we go.

(So they took action)

(on the Yakuza side, on the docks)

Yakuza Leader (calling his men with a walkie-talkie): Are the prisoners put in the container?

Yakuza (1, ditto): Yes, ma'am. They are all in it.

Yakuza (2, ditto We will be able to make the delivery shortly.

Yakuza (3, ditto): Wait, I see something. Looks like a ... Hey! (bzzzzzzzzzzzz)

Yakuza (4, ditto): Itō, are you there ?! What is ... (she is surprised) Hiiiii! (bzzzzzzzzzz)

Yakuza (5, ditto): Uh, Chief! I think we're getting ... (gets blown away) Argh! (bzzzzzzz)

Yakuza Leader: (sigh) Fools!

Bodyguard: A problem ?!

Yakuza Leader: Someone attacked them and destroyed the communications.

Bodyguard: Could it be this Hunter who bit the hook ?!

Yakuza Leader: There's only one way to find out. After all that, we can come back to your proposal.

Bodyguard (discretely holding his case): Of course, Madam.

Yakuza Leader: Hunter or whatever your name is! Is this the best you can do ?! Stay in the shadows like a coward ?! For a hero who is supposed to have powers, that doesn't give you a good image. So show yourself! Either way, we're going nowhere and if you're really that powerful we're suggesting, well, show yourself and come fight!

Kitaro (behind her and her bodyguard): I'm right here!

(From Coralie's side)

Coralie: Looks like we got rid of them on the ground.

Sunakake-Babaa: And also no more guard on the containers.

Ittan-Momen: Now we'll have to find the container where the prisoners are, but let's be careful, you never know.

Coralie (whispering and searching): Grandpa ?! Granny ?!

(On Kitaro's side)

Yakuza Leader: So you are the Hunter ?! Just a kid !? I expected more imposing than that but too bad ... Yakuzas, eliminate it!

(The guards attacked Kitaro but the latter quickly overpowered them with his powers)

Bodyguard: He's as powerful as your men described to us.

Yakuza Leader: Maybe ... (she turned to Kitaro) Alright, Hunter! We're going to settle this, man to whomever you are! You know how to use your powers but can you beat your opponents without it ?!

(the Yakuza brought a katana to their leader)

Leader of the Yakuza: You, block all the exits and do not let anyone come or enter!

Yakuzas: Yes, boss!

Bodyguard: He won't run away, ma'am!

Leader of the Yakuza (turning towards Kitaro): On guard, Hunter!

Kitaro (removing a hair from his head): Hair Sword! (the hair lengthened and became sharp like a blade and Kitaro took it like a saber )

(While Kitaro and the Yakuza leader clashed, Coralie and co continued to search)

Coralie: Grandpa, Grandma! Where are you ?

Yakuza (1, with others): Hey, you! Stop!

Sunakake-Babaa: Stay behind us, Coralie (she used her powers to send a torrent of sand on the Yakuza)

Ittan-Momen (wrapping around the Yakuza): Hey, you. Can't you see we're busy ?!

Nurikabe (protecting Coralie): We will hold them back, keep looking for your grandparents!

Coralie: I'm going! (She hurried to look for her grandparents but a Yakuza came towards her direction. Her first reaction was to take a wrench which was there)

Yakuza (2): You really are a little idiot! Like it's gonna protect you. (By reflex, Coralie threw the wrench on the Yakuza's head. Sunakake, Ittan and Nurikabe heard the shot of the Yakuza's pistol which missed its target and the latter collapsed, knocked out)

Coralie: Ok ... Okay, my grandparents, now.

(On Kitaro's side, he clashed with the Leader for a long time until the two were disarmed. They resumed the fight but with bare hands and after a little while the bodyguard went to help his boss and seeing resistance from Kitaro, the bodyguard took an iron bar to defend himself. The fight continued for a while until Kitaro finally neutralized the bodyguard but the Leader gave him a blow that knocked him off balance.)

Yakuza Leader (calling for his bodyguard): Come on ! (She turned around but noticed that her bodyguard was badly injured by the iron bar that was stuck in him. The latter collapsed and became unconscious, dropping his holster, revealing a ring inside. The Yakuza Leader therefore went mad with rage and started beating up Kitaro before catching him by the throat)

Coralie (continuing to search): Grandpa, Grandma ?!

Prisoners (hearing Coralie's voice): Is there anyone ?! Come help us, please !

Leader of the Yakuza (holding Kitaro by the throat): We are less clever by retaining your powers, eh ?! You may want to help these prisoners and this little girl's family and have all these powers, but in real life, you are nothing but a nasty, repulsive little kid!

Medama-Oyaji (emerging from Kitaro's hair and throwing himself towards the Yakuza Chief): I forbid you to say that about my son !

Leader of the Yakuza (struggling in front of Medama on her face which hit her): Let go of me, you dirty little one ...! (she picked up Medama and threw it against one of the containers) So where were we ?!

(But straight away, Kitaro, boiled with rage at his past where he was called repulsive and also that the Leader hurt his father, threw himself on her. He started to punch the Leader hard in the face until break her nose. The Leader counterattacked but Kitaro stopped her and gave her the final blow by sending her against the container where the prisoners are, breaking the entrance and rendering the Leader unconscious. aside, the Yakuza fled when they heard police sirens in the distance.)

Kitaro (walking towards Coralie and co after having picked up her father and checking the Leader's pulse): She's alive but she won't wake up for a while.

Sunakake-Babaa (seeing Medama sounded): Medama, are you okay ?!

Medama-Oyaji: Stunned but I should be fine!

Sunakake-Babaa: It reassures me ... We have found the container where the prisoners are.

Coralie (hugging Kitaro): We succeeded, Kitaro! And thanks to you, my grandparents will be safe and sound!

Kitaro: You're welcome, but ...

Ittan-Momen: You are a faller, Kitaro.

Nurikabe: ("laughs")

Kitaro (embarrassed): Uh ... Well, we should get the prisoners out before the police arrive.

(After Coralie drops him, Kitaro walks over to the container)

Kitaro (opening the dented entrance to the container where the prisoners were): Get out! The police will help you once you leave the docks. (the prisoners, grateful, got out of the container and walked towards the exit of the docks)

Sunakake-Babaa (seeing Coralie's grandparents praying): Sir, madam? Are you Coralie's grandparents ?! You are out of danger now!

Coralie's grandfather (ending his prayer like his wife): Right. Thank you, young man as well as madam and ... a giant brick, some kind of living paper and a little eye? Won't you be ...?

Kitaro: Gegege No Kitaro, sir and madam. With my father, Sunakake, Ittan and Nurikabe, we came to save you.

Medama-Oyaji: In general, we mainly deal with Yokai dangerous to humans but your granddaughter was terribly worried for you that she asked for our help.

Coralie's grandmother: So Coralie wasn't lying about you ... Is she ...?

Coralie (throwing herself towards her grandparents): Grandpa! Granny!

Coralie's grandfather (holding his granddaughter in his arms with his wife): My granddaughter, you're fine.

Sunakake-Babaa (initially moved but stopped when he saw that the police are near): Without wanting to disturb you, the police will be there in a short time. We will therefore have to leave.

Coralie's grandmother: Oh yes, it's true ... Thank you again for your help.

Coralie: When can we meet again?

Kitaro: Only time will tell. Come on, get out of here. We say goodbye to you.

(And so, Kitaro and co left while Coralie and her family came out of the docks to be escorted by the police)

(The next day, in the tree house)

Medama-Oyaji: So, Kitaro, how was your round in the city?

Kitaro: Quiet. There are still Yakuza but they are much less active since their leader is in prison with her bodyguard.

Sunakake-Babaa: What about Coralie ?!

Kitaro: She's with her family. I saw that they followed the advice I gave her regarding the association that could help them but it remains to be seen if it will work for them in the long term.

Sunakake-Babaa: I hope too. On the other hand, I also hope that Nezumi-Otoko does not do bad shenanigans, in addition to his scams.

Medama-Oyaji: He will risk being severely punished if he does. (he saw that Kitaro was using his Yokai Antenna, making a hair rise and grow that stood up like an antenna) Is there a problem, Kitaro ?!

Kitaro: A dangerous Yokai to humans is nearby. It's time to take action!
