Okay, so, TEDOG and I decided to post Sean's anime adventures in a separate story anyway, because it just doesn't feel in the right place if we post it under the other Sean story. Mainly because our goal for this story is to be more serious, and "fun with Sean" doesn't really sound serious lol
Anyway, hope everyone is still up for reading this story. First chapters will basically be a re-post, but that gives you a chance to get back into the story, right?
July 1st, 1987
Bruce looked back over his shoulder at Wayne Manor, worriedly. He and Alfred were about to go on their way to the airport to get onto the private plane to England. A friend of Alfred was in need of help. Going to the U.K was great and all but, why it had to be just him alone? Why couldn't the others come as well?
"I know what you're thinking, Master Bruce but, it's for the best," Alfred grumbled as he shut the trunk of their car with a loud bang. "My friend needs help and the last thing I want is for them to give him more stress with their antics."
Bruce pouted. "I know, but why can't Sean come?"
"I need at least one responsible person with an actual brain here at the mansion, to keep it save. Gordon is too busy lately and Bullock can't do it alone. Besides, it's just Miss Kyle and her writer friend they have to deal with, which I'm happy about. Jack and the others decided to camp out on the streets to experience what it's like."
Bruce sighed sadly then mumbled "If it's just Selina and Annie, I don't see why Bullock can't do it on his own…"
Alfred rolled his eyes and grumbled; "Bullock still has his job, meaning; I don't want those two girls blow up the mansion while he's chasing criminals. Now get in the car, will yah? The last thing I want is for them to find out and cause more delay."
Knowing there was no use to put up more fight, Bruce sighed one more time then stepped into the back of the car, sadly.
As Alfred drove off, a sudden very dark and weird looking shadow fell over Wayne Manor, awakening something. A portal which engulfed the entire manor for a moment with everything and everyone inside.
Sean woke up with a sudden jolt. The young teen looked around the room, half expecting Selina to be there sneaking up to him as he slept. There was no one but him. But there was something else out of the ordinary. He was in his room but, then again, it wasn't his room. Everything but him was, what was the right word…? It was like he woken up in some weird universe that had the similar art style as the anime Alfred, Selina, and Annie were addicted to.
Sean slapped his forehead. Of course this had to be one of Selina's antics where she asked Annie to write a weird antic. Sean clenched his fists in anger. This was his story, so what happened in HIS story was HIS call, not Selina's.
The young street billionaire kicked of his sheets then jumped into his clothes and sprinted outside the room. He was momentarily stunned by the settings of the hallway. It was 'drawn' in the same anime art style as his room.
"WTF?!"
Sean charged down the hallway then down the stairs, which was also 'drawn' in anime style. The same thing happened to the main floor hallway… and the kitchen as well. A kitchen with no Alfred. Weird.
That's when Sean remembered he and Bullock had to keep the mansion save during Alfred's absence. If he knew Selina was going to take over HIS story with one of her crazy ideas, he would have begged Alfred to let him join them to the U.K.
Angrily, Sean turned on his heels and stormed outside the kitchen. He had to find Annie and force her to 'write' things normal again. He found her and Selina in the study, which also had the same odd anime style, though, the two girls hung around on the couch eating bagels like the setting was completely normal. Sean rolled his eyes. Of course they pretended nothing was wrong.
"YOU!" Sean stormed inside the study, shooting dagger looks at Annie. "WTF did Selina ask you to do?!"
Annie looked up, swallowing her bite of bagel then replied; "What are you yelling about?"
"This!" Sean gestured at the entire room. "The settings! Don't pretend you haven't noticed it yet!"
Selina looked around for a moment then shrugged nonchalantly. "I thought this was your doings. I mean, it's your story after all."
"You're damn right it's MY story! So who gave you the rights to screw with it?!" Sean harrumphed with anger.
Selina, who was just about to take a sip from her orange juice, suddenly stopped mid-air then shouted back; "Me?! I didn't ask Annie to do this, though, I have to admit it's pretty funny. But I did NOT ask her."
"She's right, she didn't," Annie replied then pointed at her eye. "As you see this horrible infection decided to make its comeback. Writing is hard for me at the moment, besides, my laptop wasn't were I put it. When we woke up and saw this odd settings, I figured you had it, since it's your story and you love taking over from time to time.
Sean clenched his jaws. "Then who did it?! The only ones here are us three!"
"Really? Where's Bruce and Alfred?" Selina looked around, confused then gasped; "Oh, No, maybe whoever stole your laptop and wrote this story made them disappear!"
Sean rolled his eyes. "No, they just left to the U.K to help out Alfred's friend. They left this morning."
"Good thing they left without you." Selina breathed out a sigh of relief. "I wouldn't know what to do without both my kitty toys."
Sean grumbled; "I wish they did take me with them. Then I wouldn't be stuck in one of your crazy chapter idea."
Selina opened her mouth to defend herself but was interrupted when everything around them glitches for a moment. Both Sean and Selina glared at Annie and shouted at her to stop with whatever she was doing to cause the glitches.
"It's not me," Annie answered as she looked around the room, wide eyed then mumbled; It's like some strange power is doing this."
Selina frowned. "An electrical surge?"
Annie shook her head. "No, something else. Something far more powerful-I c-can't really explain it. I'm sensing a powerful force here at work, and I'm not sure if it's good or evil."
Selina gasped dramatically. Sean rolled his eyes.
"Cut the crap, you two! I know this is you and—
Sean was suddenly cut off by multiple loud voices. They sounded pretty nearby. The tree teens shared confused looks then rushed outside to where the loud voices came from. They froze at what they saw.
Everything they were familiar with was gone. The garden. The gate and the large wall in the distance. There wasn't even a road to see. It was like one of those movie characters who land into an entirely white room, except this space they just found themselves in was entirely grey. As far as their eyes could see. The only thing they recognized was the mansion they just exited.
Suddenly they saw some movement. The teens looked over and saw hundreds of different anime characters. They also turned out to be ones who had done the shouting earlier. They seemed very pissed.
"Whaa...?" Sean's jaws dropped speechless.
"What's that…?" Annie asked, barely louder than a whisper and pointed at something at their right. Both Sean and Selina looked and saw something that could only exist in a syfy movie. "A portal...?"
"That could be our exit to our universe!" Selina shouted, a little too loud. The crowd of angry anime characters, who first seemed not aware of their presence, suddenly saw them. Sean could sense that things would go wrong. The portal in the distance glitches for a moment, and so does the settings that surround them.
"Run!" Sean yelled. "Go through the portal, quick! I will keep them away!"
Selina stopped Sean before he could attack the crowd of anime characters then shouted; "Are you crazy? We don't need to fight them! We have Annie, remember?"
"That's right. Hop on," Annie chimed in and took her 'ready to leave' position.
Before Sean could object, Selina hurled one arm around Annie and the other she used to grab the back of Sean's collar. Annie started to run, and run, and run, and run. Selina suddenly cleared her throat.
"Ehm, is it just me or we moving at normal pace? Or better yet, are me moving even slower than a normal person runs?"
Annie shot a dagger glare at Selina then said in defence; "Hey, I like to see you run while holding two persons at the same time!"
Selina stroked her chin; "I don't get it. What happened to your speed?"
Annie sank through her knees and sobbed; "I'm a normal human in this universe with normal speed!"
"Uhm…no offence, but you are even slower than an average person."
"Shut up, Cat! Can't you see I'm feeling miserable about the fact I lost my special power? It's NOT working in this universe. What are we to do?!"
"HOW ABOUT, RUN?!" Sean yelled.
Annie leaped back to her feet with confidence and nodded; "Sean's right! I want my speed back so all we have to do is run back to our universe! You are coming with us, Sean! …Sean?"
"Sean…?" Selina looked at her hand where the back of Sean's shirt should have been, but it wasn't. Without their notice, Sean had struggled himself free and decided to not waste more time and attacked the anime characters while Annie and Selina were busy arguing.
The two girls looked around and saw Sean in the distance, fighting the anime characters, punching one after another. Annie pouted; "It's NOT fair! Even in this universe, Sean has still his strength and I run like an average person."
"Slower than an average person," Selina grinned then ignored the stink-eye her friend gave her and sighed, dreamily; "Is it weird to think he looks VERY HAWT when fighting?"
Sean, dodging fists and weapons screamed back; "I AM NOT HOT, SELINA! STOP SAYING STUPID THINGS AND GO TO THE PORTAL BEFORE IT VANISHES!"
"Yes! Yes!" Selina replied obediently then a worried thought entered her mind. "But Sean, I can't leave you here! I have to fight and protect you!"
"NO! RUN!"
"I will kill them all with my razor sharp kitty-cat nails!" Selina shouted as loudly as she could then before anyone could stop her, she ran towards the crowd of anime characters. But then something unexpected happened. Selina hit an invisible wall, with force. She stumbled on her feet then tumbled backwards on the ground. She rubbed her forehead and scolded; "What…?!"
Annie ran over to Selina then helped her back up her feet. Selina instantly stepped forward to attack, but something invisible was in the way.
"I think an invisible force field stop us from helping Sean," Annie said.
Selina's face turned red in anger then shouted; "Force field my ass! I will find its weakness and tear it down! Stupid force field won't stop ME!"
"JUST RUN!" Sean shouted as he fought off some anime characters then also started to make his way to the glitching portal. "RUN BEFORE IT'S GONE!"
When she saw Sean also run for the portal, Selina decided to leave the force field for what it was and ran to the portal as well. Annie did the same thing. So did Sean and a very long trail of infuriated anime characters. Not wanting them to follow through , through the portal, Sean halted for a moment and readied his fists for who decided to be the first to try take him down.
The anime characters attacked Sean one by one and for the first time in his life it was hard to fight back. Some were pretty strong and Sean experienced some difficulties dodging their weapons. He was stabbed at multiple places by either a sword or wounded by other weapons he could not tag a name to as they were not weapons he was common with. Luckily for the him some wounds were minor and not lethal.
Others were still pretty easy to defeat, like they were still beginners in whatever universe they came from. Sean really wished he had paid at least some attention or had watched a few anime with Alfred. It would have come quite handy knowing their level of strength. Know which one to fight full on, and which one to run away from as far as possible.
"The portal!" Sean remembered then gave the nearest character a full on kick in his stomach then turned and ran towards the portal, which now seemed very weak. He could still make it if he ran fast, right?
Sean suddenly felt a strong hand grab his jacket from behind and pull him back with force. He didn't hesitate for a moment and rounded on one leg while using the other to kick his attacker. The attacker seemed aware of this and grabbed Sean's leg, mid-air and grinned.
Sean was shocked for a moment but then used his other leg, the one still on the ground, to jump himself forward towards his attacker and grabbed the man's head who instantly released his other leg. Sean then didn't hesitate for a moment and gave the man a few full on 'knees' to the stomach until he sank through his knees, gasping for air.
Sean instantly turned around, back to the portal and ran as he had never run before. The portal was weak and closing. Hoping he could still make it, Sean leaped forward, not caring about the horrible 'face-plant' he would make in his own universe. All he cared right now was to get there.
Sean fell on the ground with a painful thud. He instantly got back up and rounded on his feet, taking in his surroundings then saw he was completely and utterly alone, still in the completely grey universe. He had been only a mere second too slow.
In complete anger and devastation, Sean clenched both his fists, threw his head back and roared an angry scream then sank through his knees, back to the ground. He had failed to get back in his own universe. He had failed in so many ways.
Sean opened his eyes, slowly. He couldn't remember when or how he even had fallen asleep, or even where he was. He then remembered and sat up straight quickly, hoping to see his own bedroom and that the grey universe had been nothing but a bad dream. But it turned out it wasn't.
Sean emitted a heavy sigh. Where or what was this grey universe? Who even got them there to begin with? But more importantly, how was he ever getting back to Gotham?
Suddenly the young teen heard a soft sound. A tingling sound? No, more a crackling sound, like the closing portal he tried to get through, earlier.
Sean instantly jumped to his feet and scoped the grey area. There it was, not further than 200 miles, another portal.
"YES!" Sean cheered in his head and ran as fast as he could. He was determined to not let this one close down before he got through. Sure, he didn't know where it would lead him, but it couldn't be worse than this grey nothingness, right? Maybe he was lucky and it lead to normal, familiar Gotham.
Sean accelerated his speed and disappeared through the portal, which closed barely a few seconds later.
