Full Summary:
In Aoba Johsai, students are divided by Class. Class 1 is only given to the King of the school, and his yet-to-be-chosen Queen. Class 2 are all the rich kids, the nobles. Class 3 are the normal, ordinary students, the civilians. And Class 4 is the lowest of the low, the ones who are the higher classes' pets, the peasants.
I am a Class 3 citizen, a normal student, the Villager B. So how did I get into this mess? This toxic connection with the King, Toru Oikawa? Framed for something I hadn't done, I'm forced to be the King's pet, his property, a Class 4 peasant.
And then he offers me a deal. Become his Queen, his girlfriend, and all the debt I owe him will be paid off. What choice do I have?

Chapter 1: Nine of Hearts
I was only supposed to be the Villager B in the background. I was only supposed to be that one random character in the crowd of a manga where the drawer didn't even bother to give me a face. I was only supposed to be a Class 3 civilian in Aoba Johsai, an insignificant person somewhere in the school.
I wanted that to stay the same. I didn't want to catch the attention of any Class 2 nobles or, even worse, the King. Toru Oikawa, the infamous King of the school, capable of anything, with an authority higher than anyone else.
The only other one with a power that came a close second would be his Queen. His yet-to-be-chosen Queen. Oikawa hadn't had a girlfriend for almost a year. Every girl's dream was to be his Queen, his girlfriend, his beloved. Everyone except me. I wanted to pass high school without a single incident. Without crossing paths with Oikawa or getting on the bad side of any Class 2 nobles.
But of course, that would be too boring of a life for me.
The first thing I noticed after entering Aoba Johsai was that Kindaichi had a new pet.
"Move faster, you lazy dumbass!" he yelled at her, giving her a shove forward.
Poor Asako, I thought, as she stumbled from the push, the heavy books spilling out of her hands and onto the ground. I watched as she hurried to pick them up, Kindaichi kicking the books further.
"Lay off, Kindaichi." Kunimi was walking beside him and was watching the struggling girl disinterestedly. "She's barely gonna last a month if you keep this up, you know? It's inefficient."
Kindaichi rolled his eyes. "She's never gonna learn if I don't beat some sense into her. Hurry up!" he added, spitting at Asako.
Kunimi shrugged. "Hm. I guess so."
I quickly looked away, proceeding through the grounds. That was how life was at Aoba Johsai. The nobles, Class 2, had the option of getting their own pet, their own peasant. Class 4. The lowest of the low.
Kindaichi's last pet had lasted for only three weeks. I wondered how long Asako could hold out for.
The second thing I noticed upon entering the building was the King himself, strolling through the hallway. Girls, nobles more specifically, were lined up outside, screaming and showering him with gifts. His best friend, Iwaizumi, was next to him, scowling at the fangirls.
Oikawa gave them a cheeky grin and a wave, causing a few of the girls to topple over into their neighbors. I knew his personality pretty well. Everyone did. Flirty and sweet one second, and then deadly and dangerous the next. He was double-faced, two-sided, but no one cared.
There was this one time where he'd had a super clingy fangirl. She always trailed behind him, offering him gifts and complimenting him. I had noticed the irritation in his eyes after a week. When she actually followed him after school, I never saw her again. Sometimes I still wonder what he'd done with her.
Oikawa looked over the heads of his fangirls and his eyes suddenly met mine down the hallway. I looked away immediately and walked into my classroom. With each step, something began unfurling in my stomach. I had a sinking feeling something was going to happen, something bad. After all, I had broken my first rule.
Don't make eye contact with the King.
The third thing I noticed was that my friend, Kotoe, was sitting with the nobles at the front of the classroom, giggling with them. Nah, she wasn't my friend anymore. She had left Class 3 and had recently been promoted to Class 2. She left me behind along with her old class.
I didn't really mind. Good for her. She could leave me alone now.
Kotoe's father had recently been given a really high-paying job, and that was why she was invited to be a noble. Of course, she took that opportunity. When she was a commoner like me, we weren't particularly close, but we still talked with each other, occasionally having lunch together. All of that was history now.
As I walked past them to get to my desk at the back, I caught a bit of their conversation.
"Did you hear? Oikawa's getting a pet soon!" A high-pitched voice said. Mai, I was pretty sure her name was.
A gasp. "Oh my god, really? About time too!" Lorena.
"I know, right?" A giggle. "But I don't think anyone would want to be his pet."
Ema bobbed her head up and down. "Yeah, I can totally see that. I mean, remember his last pet? Someone named Itsumi or some awful name like that?"
"I almost felt bad for her. I mean, she deserved it, getting on his bad side." Kotoe pitched in.
"Yeah, like, who dumps muddy water all over Oikawa, you know? She was so mean, and I was glad she suffered. No one can disrespect our King like that!"
"Riku told me that it was, like, an accident, but what she did was unacceptable. I mean, it was like she was practically begging to be his pet.
"You heard what he did to her when she was his pet?" Mai's voice was excited, awed.
"What?"
"I heard that he…"
I was out of earshot. I sighed before plunking down in my seat. I shouldn't have to worry.
Hah, wrong.

Heyooo thanks for checking out this story! This is just an idea I had, it's nothing too serious, so I might not update for, like, forever until I get another inspiration. Just a heads up TwT.
I KNOW this chapter is short. I usually post ones twice as long, but as I said, this is just a random idea I had. They're all gonna be this length sooo yeah, don't come at me T^T. Any feedback is appreciated though.
*Nine means new beginnings and Hearts mean the "childhood" phase of life.
Okie, that's all. Baiii.
