A lone pumpkin sat on a tree stump. The beginning of Autumn and all that entails in a quiet forest until a loud bang erupted creating a circular eye for the pumpkin. Another shot fired giving it an eye to match and then another for a nose.
A woman in a bandana, flannel shirt and jeans assessed the damage to her pumpkin and put her rifle away switching to a combat shotgun. she cocked aimed and fired splattering poor Mr. Pumpkin to bits and pieces scattering across the grass. The woman smiled seeing she has consistency and turned back around heading for the house. She got close to the property seeing two Rottweilers run at her and jump at her as she smiled and started petting the dogs they picked up last year. "Butch, Lou, they didn't do that much damage when I was gone did they?" She smiled giving the dogs one last pat on the head before throwing each a tennis ball a couple times before heading into the house.
She walked into the house and took off the bandana revealing a short minx haircut of black hair and smiled walking into the house and a plaque on the wall with four simple words and a mountain of pictures. 'Do it for her.'
The woman smiled seeing pictures of a baby with an old bald man. Her sitting with the baby. the baby asleep on the chest of a man with black hair who is also sleeping that she looks at with a smile. She turned and saw herself in a white dress with s grandfatherly figure with no hair and her cousin Kara standing next to her. She smiles seeing the man in the suit a younger bald man right next to him. She runs her fingers over that picture of the grandfather and quietly said. "We're gonna make you proud Dr. Loomis."
She went into the side room and put her weapons back on the wall and quickly locked it back down to make sure no one can get in that didn't know the code as she worked each of the five locks on the front door completely locking up the front door.
Jamie Carruthers-Kent walked into the living room and saw a sight that would never make her frown. She saw her husband Clark Kent awkwardly dancing with likely the one girl that could get him to. A two year old girl with blond hair. Jamie assumes the blond came from whoever the hell the baby's father was but they'll likely never know. Her name is Rachel Kent, Clark is the one who adopted her with a lot of help from his best friend Lex Luthor and that's the only father Rachael will ever need. Besides he's mostly been the one constant in her life since the day she was born besides her. What else would you want in a parent?
Clark smiled. "Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat"
Rachael awkwardly finished. "Pbut jelly tome"
Jamie smiled and clapped forcing the end of the song and Clark blushed in a bit of embarrassment as Rachel stuck her arms up saying. "Mama"
Jamie easily scooped her up with a smile showing muscles acquired over the past almost two years. "You up for another dance baby girl?"
Rachel enthusiastically nodded as Jamie set up a new song that all three danced to.
An hour later Clark was sitting on the couch an exhausted two year old sleeping on his chest.
Jamie smiled looking at the two. "Are you OK like that?"
Clark smiled. "I can stay like this for hours. You sleep here too remember."
"You're just comfortable." Jamie countered with a smile. "So... peanut butter jelly time?"
Clark innocently shrugged. "I needed something to distract her from the noises outside."
Jamie shrugged awkwardly it's on her and she doesn't exactly have a good defense. "I'm sorry it's just..."
"Seven weeks to the big two days?" Clark asked as if answering the question.
Jamie nodded she shouldn't be this scared for an occasion so joyful. "All time bliss followed by all time panic. So how's work going?"
Clark stayed where he was and just held Rachel. "I can't complain though I am going to miss those full time pay checks."
Jamie smiled. "Second day of senior year tomorrow for both us. How's it feel being a big senior after spending two years as a junior?"
Clark rolled his eyes thanks Dad he needed all those absences from the kidnapping/brainwashing. "I'll be fine as long as I only have to do it once."
Clark happily smiled and kissed hiss wife whom gladly kissed back. "Now, let's get this one to bed."
Jamie smiled watching Clark carry her daughter undisturbed. "You know she's going to walk all over you when she's a teenager with a bad boy."
Clark smiled at her. "Honey, she's not going to be dating. We're both going to be well trained MMA fighters thanks to Ted, a wall of guns that make it look like we should live in an army base not California. No boy is going to ever ask her out."
Jamie opened her eyes first thing in the morning and saw the mattress stupid farm grown programming depriving her of morning cuddling.
She got dressed in the her prep school uniform. She is going to kill Lex for this she's just not sure how yet for the prestigious school he got her and Clark enrolled into. She came into the kitchen and saw Clark and an older woman feeding Rachel eggs for breakfast.
Jamie took one look at Clark's prep school outfit and laughed. "Have a fun day at school little boy."
Clark looked up from his spot at Jamie in her catholic school girl prep school outfit. "Now young lady keep that up and I'll put you over my..." He turned to the older woman glaring at him. "on a pedestal."
Darlene Carruthers smiled seeing her daughter and her son in law. These two deserve credit because no matter what fate throws at them they just keep pushing forward. Sadly whatever Wynn did in the paperwork her and Richard could not just reclaim Jamie as their adopted daughter. They never expected to see her again but Halloween almost 3 years ago she showed up on their doorstep a mess with Clark and a baby, explained everything leaving Darlene and Richard furious with the entire town and asked for their blessing when she told them she wanted to name her baby Rachel after Darlene's biological daughter and Jamie's sister. Both parents had no problem with it and produced ear to ear smiles. They even attended the wedding where Dr. Loomis and Richard gave her away and to their ultimate surprise despite not legally being able to reclaim her when she changed her name she chose to stop being Jamie Lloyd and chose to go by Jamie Carruthers-Kent taking Lloyd as a middle name and undoing Wynn's work anyway. When Clark and Jamie moved to California to get away from Judge douche her, Martha and Richard followed.
Jamie smiled looking at her daughter. "Thanks for watching her."
Darlene smiled taking her granddaughter out of her chair. "This is one job you'll never have to thank me for. So who's coming home to get her after school?"
"I am." Jamie answered. "Clark and Lex are still talking to Dr. Psycho."
Clark rolled his eyes. "She's well intentioned for the planet."
"Well intentioned extremist is more fitting." Jamie countered showing her opinion of Dr. Isly.
Darlene smiled and handed Jamie her backpack as Clark grabbed his. "OK, have a good day you two."
Jamie smiled and kissed her and Rachael on the way out. "Love you, love you."
Clark kissed his daughter goodbye and hugged Darlene. "Thanks again."
Jamie smiled seeing Clark struggle with the suit all the boys have to wear. "Oh come on Clark, you've always looked good in red."
Clark shrugged. "Doesn't mean it's comfortable. Feel like I'm changing into the Hulk and will rip through this at any second. Why did we come here?"
Jamie smiled. "Too many psychos in Haddonfield, getting away from the honorable judge pious prick in Chicago so you don't kick a field goal, and this will look good for college."
Clark looked at her yeah, bring logic into this. "Well, it's uncomfortable."
Jamie looked at the schedule confused. "Huh, why are we having the introduction assembly today. Seems like it should have been something done on the first day of school not the second."
"My guess would be the Principal was too bombed to do it yesterday."
Jamie and Clark turned to the voice seeing a 15 year old with black hair and his girlfriend with blond hair in identical clothes to Clark and Jamie. "John, that is so messed up man."
John nodded in agreement if she only knew. "But also sadly, very likely true."
Jamie shook her head in disbelief. "How would you know?"
"You'll know after the assembly." John replied.
Jamie smiled and turned to Clark. "Clark this is who I met yesterday, John Tate, Clark Kent."
John turned to him. "Nice to meet you Jamie's told me a lot."
Clark smiled. "Good things I hope."
"Only the best." John assured him as the bell rang and the group went to the assembly.
Clark sat fidgeting in his clothes. He hates this he has a feeling one day someone is going to get the uniform suppliers addresses and all the places will mysteriously burst into flames. And that day could very well be Friday with heat vision.
Jamie smiled seeing him struggle of all the things he can do and what he's done to her uncle the uniform is going to be what breaks him. She looks to the left and sees John with his friends and gives him a smile. She looked up and saw a sweet picture of a Grandma walk up the stage.
"Students of Hillcrest Academy my name is Norma Watson and I'd like to welcome all the new faces here. We wanted to do this meet and greet yesterday but Ms. Tate was not feeling well."
Jamie's eyes rose as she turned to John who just had a smug look on his face. Well that's one mystery solved.
Norma smiled looking at the student body. "But we expect incredible things from all of you this year. So let me introduce the principal of this school. Ms. Keri Tate.
Clark and Jamie joined the school in an almost sad obligatory applause as a short haired woman walked tp the podium.
Clark looked at her confused did she have John when she was Jamie's age.
Jamie absently minded watched the woman got to the podium god this is boring. She watched the woman turn around and address the student body. Jamie paid her words no attention and just grabbed Clark trying to hang on to him almost to anchor her down and prove she's not dreaming.
Clark turned to Jamie curious about the vice grip on his arm and saw her almost as pale as a ghost. If he didn't know any better he thought Jamie's uncle was paying them a visit. "Jamie, Jamie what's wrong?"
Jamie shook her head and quickly detached herself from Clark. "I-it's nothing."
"Jamie"
"I just thought I saw someone I recognized, I didn't OK. Never saw the woman before." Jamie assured him.
Clark accepted the answer knowing she's been spooked by fake close calls before.
Jamie turned back to the podium she didn't listen to a word Ms. Tate said. She didn't give a damn about one word that came out of her mouth. She wouldn't... she wouldn't... She took a couple calming breaths as Ted showed her and Clark to level off. She kept her eyes on Ms. Tate the resemblance is too much she can't handle this. Would it be a bit too much if she ran up to the stage drop kicked Ms. Tate in her false smile and say two simple words. 'Hi mom.'
Author Notes
It was recommended I add this to the story if I was trying to write it so you don't have to read the first story.
This started off as the epilogue for the last story but it was way too happy for Michael getting away.
Halloween Kills got delayed by a whole fucking year while VoD is a thing and I needed to vent. I'm not sure if the story will be this year or next year but we'll see.
Halloween is not owned by me and neither is DC. I'd say support the official release but you have to wait a year now because of the mighty $. And even worse someone hate leaked it for the delay.
