Chapter 1

Daphne awoke to find herself surrounded by a mountain of gifts. Each gift was so meticulously wrapped in metallic, plum-coloured paper. Sure, it was her favourite colour and it seemed whoever had sent these gifts knew exactly that. She rolled her eyes at the collection. They truly went overboard – most of these things would have to go straight to charity. How many were there exactly anyway? Twenty? Thirty? Possibly even forty?

'Happy birthday sis!' Her little sister, Astoria, called from behind the gifts.

'Thank you, Tori.' She said huskily. 'Where are you?' The mountain of gifts literally blocked her view of the room.

'I'm at the foot of your bed.' Tori called as Daphne reached for her wand to rearrange the gifts in a neat pile on the other side of her room. She had no idea why her parents had insisted on building a wall around her bed every single year. It was ridiculous. Once the gifts had been removed, she sat up and was bombarded by the sixteen-year-old who was giving her a hug.

'Tori. Seriously? Aren't we a little bit too old for this now?' She struggled against her. 'Where are mum and dad?'

'Business meeting. Said they were sorry they couldn't be here but will be back for dinner. We've got the day to ourselves. But guess what. It snowed! Finally! I bet Hogwarts will be snowy. I can't wait to go back in a few days.'

'You just want to see Draco.' She mumbled and extracted herself from her bed.

'I do not. But speaking of, is Blaise coming today?' She asked as she sprayed herself with her perfume from the dresser. Oh…Blaise. Her relationship with him was definitely on the rocks. Ever since the war had finally ended and Potter had saved the wizarding world (thank Merlin), Blaise had become distant. He wasn't writing. Nor was he visiting. He practically avoided her at school apart from class and dinner. She had a slight suspicion it might have something to do with another girl. But she wouldn't blame him for choosing someone else over her. She was starting to think that Blaise and her just weren't compatible. He just wasn't into the same things. Where she like quidditch, chess and having fun with her friends, he liked to sit alone and read books and write music and poetry. As endearing as having a musician/poet for a boyfriend was, his personality didn't extend much beyond that. He just wasn't that interesting to her anymore. She had spent the whole of Christmas break planning her breakup with him. The one time he did write her, he had wished her a happy birthday and said that his mother, her new beau, and him, were spending the holidays somewhere in the Caribbean. So, a visit from him would be off the table.

'So?' Tori pressed.

'No. He's in the Caribbean with his mum and her boyfriend.' She replied.

'Oh. That's a shame.' Tori said. 'Well, do you want to open your presents?'

Daphne sighed. She had supposed she had better get on with it. She may be there all day otherwise. 'Which one is yours?' She asked her sister.

'The one on top. I do hope you like it!' She jumped up and down in excitement as Daphne grabbed the one on the top of the pile. It was a small box with plum wrapping and gold ribbon and ripping the paper off revealed a miniature crystal figurine of a hippogriff which she had been eyeing off in Hogsmeade the last time she had been there.

'Oh, my goodness. How did you know I wanted this?' She asked her sister.

'Well. Um. This is going to seem weird but Potter actually suggested it.' She shrugged sheepishly.

'Potter? And since when do you talk to Harry Potter? And since when has he ever taken notice of a Slytherin like me?' Daphne scoffed, as if the world-famous Harry Potter would take notice of people like her. But then again, he had suggested to her sister that she get the hippogriff for her. Perhaps she wasn't as perceptive as she thought.

'Well. I think he must have been walking by when you were looking at it and when he heard me complaining to my friends about not knowing what to get you, he sort of just came up and suggested it.' Tori explained. Hmm. Well that did make sense. Anyway, she was very grateful for the gift no matter where the idea originated.

'Anyway, I love it. Thank you, Tori.' She smiled and went to place it on her shelf where it glistened in the snowy light. After a brief moment of admiration, she went about opening all the other gifts. There were books, jewellery, sweets, clothing, shoes and all the boring stuff which didn't really intrigue her. Blaise had actually sent her an antique chess set which was made of hazelnut wood. Just because they weren't compatible didn't mean he didn't care. She would have to thank him when they got back to school.

Forty minutes later and she was down to the last two gifts. One was from her favourite aunt, Aunt Porsha and the other seemed to be unnamed. The unnamed package intrigued her the most. It was wrapped in a silver and green package – very Slytherin like if she could say so herself – and it was a small rectangular box. There was a little note which read:

Daphne,
Happy birthday. Hope your day is magical.

Nothing. No signature. Who the heck would send a gift without signing their name? She shrugged. Oh well. It was the thought that counted. She ripped the paper off to reveal a brown-leathered journal with her initials monogrammed on it in calligraphy. She ran her hands along the cool binding and flipped open releasing the fresh scent of the paper. They smelt of a beautiful citrus smell and she immediately imagined sitting by the ocean at sunset. A wave of calmness rushed through her body as another note fell out of the book. She picked it up and read:

The journal is enchanted to calm you down. A friend of mine engineered it. Hope you like it. See you at school.

Again. No name. Well whoever this friend of this person, a he, she was assuming, knew exactly what they were doing. She was very grateful for this gift even if she didn't know who had sent it. It was someone at school though. Perhaps they would come forward and tell her when they went back.

'That is a beautiful journal.' Tori said. 'Now, what did Porsha get you?' Daphne sighed. Astoria had never been a patient person. She placed the book to the side and picked up the weighty box. She read the label.

Dearest Daphne,
My mother gave me a vial of this for my 18th birthday, I hope it will bring you the same clarity it did for me.
Lots of love,
Aunt Porsha.

She opened the gift to find a bottle of a strange looking potion. The glass vase was shaped like a butterfly and the liquid was a strange shimmering shade of teal. The antique label read:

48 Hour Potion
The drinker of this potion will experience their future without consequence for 48 hours. Intended to provide the drinker of some clarity of where their future is headed.
Warning:
The future is uncertain and this will only produce the most likely version as of the drinker's current situation. However, the future is subject to change.
Only take one sip as the potion is potent – greater consumption will not extend the life of the potion.
May contain traces of nutmeg and tree nuts

What a strange gift. She had never seen anything like it. The floo went off in the house and Astoria went to check on it, leaving Daphne to marvel at the gift. Never in her life had she been given such a powerful gift. She could see into her future without consequence for 48 hours. How far into the future would it take her? 5, 10, 15, 50? She had no clue.

'Daphne! Draco's here to see you.' Astoria called. Oh great. Trust him to be here so early in the morning.

'Alright. Be down soon, just going to change.' She yelled back, leaving the potion on her nightstand.

Once she was dressed, she made her way down to the ballroom, where she assumed, they would be and instantly regretting entering the room. Draco had his tongue down her sister's throat.

'Ugh, get a room will you two?' She diverted her eyes to the window, where snow was falling gently outside. Draco chuckled.

'If you hadn't noticed, you're the one who walked in on us.' He replied cheekily. 'Happy birthday Daphne.' He let go of Astoria and gave her a hug. 'Have you heard about Blaise?'

'What happened?' She asked not sure where this was going.

'Well it was more like his mother. Her new beau mysteriously disappeared like the rest of her husbands had when they were down in the Caribbean. He had no family so guess who gets all his money.'

'She does. Where in Merlin's name, does she pick these men up from? And I don't think they mysteriously disappear either. She's probably keeping them in amber or something.' She replied icily. On the few occasions she had met Blaise's mum, she had been thoroughly creeped out. The woman was a combination of gold digger mixed with voodoo and it was the scariest mixture.

'Whoa. Someone is living up to her name as ice queen this morning. What's got your wand in a twist?' Draco smirked.

'Watch what you say, Malfoy.' She hissed. 'I wouldn't want you to leave here unaware that your complexion is tarnished with boils now.'

'Reow. Kitty's got claws.' He joked. 'But seriously, what's up?' He looked at her with concern.

'Nothing. Just the birthday blues.' She sighed. He nodded with understanding and handed her yet another gift. 'Draco, you didn't have to get me anything.' She complained.

'Alright. Well if you don't want this limited-edition golden snitch signed by none other than Aidan Lynch himself then I'll just take…'

'Hey, wait a minute. I didn't say I didn't want it.' She countered. He laughed and handed the box back to her. 'Is it really signed by Aidan Lynch?' She couldn't believe it. A signed snitch from the most famous Irish seeker. She must have been dreaming. She ripped the box open and screamed in delight.

'Hah. I really don't know why you like him so much.' Draco mused.

'Yeah, he's no match for Krum.' Astoria agreed.

'Are you kidding? Have you not seen the game against Scotland? It was absolutely fantastic, the way he dived for the snitch. Sure, he gets dazed a bit from diving but you have to admit he is a superb player.' She replied.

'I thought you might say that, that's why I got us all tickets for tonight's game, Ireland versus Australia. Your parents included if they are not too busy.' He said.

'No way. That's amazing Draco! You didn't have to do that! The snitch was already enough.' She replied.

'I know. But it's been a while since we've all been out for a good time and I just thought what the heck, might as well splurge a bit.' He shrugged and he was absolutely right. They hadn't been out in so long.

'You, my friend, have just given me the best birthday gift ever.'

The stadium was a buzz with banners of green and gold versus green and white. They had seats somewhere in the middle of the crowd but they seemed to be the best seats in the house. Daphne was dressed head to toe in green and white, whilst Astoria was in green and gold. Draco had decided to remain neutral with a green and white scarf and a green and gold hat. He had bought binoculars for them all as they sat in anticipation of the game. Theo Nott and Pansy Parkinson had joined them whilst her parents had declined the offer – work was too busy and they hadn't even made it home for dinner like they had promised. Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy sat to the other side of Draco.

Narcissa leant over Draco and Astoria to talk to her. 'I hope Ambrose and Alexei wished you a happy birthday.' She said. 'It's terrible what is going on at Greengrass, Selwyn & Partners, you know after the war and everything. Newell Selwyn has practically put them in financial disarray. I wouldn't be surprised if your parents hadn't had a chance to…'

'Mother. Look it's Andrea Flint, why don't you go and say hello?' Draco glared at Narcissa, obviously picking up on her discomfort.

'Oh, so it is, will be back in a bit.' She replied and got up to walk down a few rows. 'Andrea!'

'Thank you.' She whispered to him.

'Don't mention it.' He replied. 'I know how hard it has been recently.'

She nodded in response but remained quiet as the announcer began to speak to the stadium.

'GOOD EVENING! AND WELCOME TO THE QUARTER-FINALS FOR THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP!' A roar rang out throughout the stadium, some cheering for the Irish, some for the Aussies. Nearby, Daphne couldn't help but notice three half naked guys which she assumed were Australia yell out, 'Yeah the roos' and splashed butterbeer on the ground. 'Shane, you idiot, you spilt the beer.' The one furthest to the right said.

'Yeah nah. It was Davey's fault.' He pointed to his mate on the left.

'Oi, nah it wasn't, it was Sonya's.' He pointed to the lady to his left who had beach blonde hair, a very overly made up face and a chest that looked like it had at least one enhancement surgery in its life.

'Onya Sonya.'

'Yeah onya Sonya. Now we have to get some more beer.' Another one argued. She giggled as Sonya got offended, tossed the rest of her beer onto the lads and marched up the stairs out of the stadium. The guy who had been next to her, Lance (as she found out from the other guys yelling at him to come back) had run up the stairs after her, yelling that they had just been messing with her.

Draco leant down to whisper in her ear 'You listening to those Aussies?' He chuckled.

'Yes.' She mused. 'They are so…' She trailed off. How would she put?

'Aussie?' He suggested.

'I was going to say dramatic but that will do.' She replied as the announcer announced the Australian team onto the field. Astoria, Theo, and Pansy cheered and Daphne noticed that Lucius seemed to have snuck off somewhere in the meantime.

The Irish team were called out next and both Daphne and Draco cheered for them as they flew onto the field. She nearly swooned at the sight of her idol, Aidan Lynch, who was on the big screen as he took a lap around the stadium.

'Hold yourself together woman.' Draco smirked and she elbowed him hard in the side.

'Ouch.' He feigned being shot but she just rolled her eyes.

'You're a drama queen you know that?' She retaliated to him.

'Me? Drama queen? I am offended you'd say that.' He gave her an overdramatic pose as she chuckled.

'Excuse me. Daphne stop flirting with my boyfriend.' Astoria glared at her sister but Daphne knew it wasn't anything sinister. She knew this was the way she and Draco talked to each other, even before Astoria had landed herself betrothed to the man. Their friendship had always been and always would be plutonic. Besides, the thought of her being with Draco in that way made her sick to the stomach.

'Ew. No offense Draco, but flirting with you, would be like flirting with my brother, if I had one.' She replied.

'No offense taken, flirting with you would be like flirting with my sister, if I had one.' He mocked her and she just rolled her eyes at him again.

'Are you guys going to watch the game or are you going to sit there arguing about who's in a relationship with Draco?' Pansy asked.

In all that time, they hadn't realised the game had actually started and Ireland were in possession of the quaffle. Daphne lifted her binoculars and zoomed in towards Lynch who was searching the field for a sign of the snitch. The Australian seeker, Harold Dench, was sitting opposite and much lower in the zone where he could be hit by a bludger.

'Hey, you reckon Dench is sitting a bit low?' Nott asked looking out from behind his binoculars.

'It's an interesting tactic if you ask me.' Draco replied.

The Irish scored a goal and then the Australians were in possession. The game went on for a while, each team scoring an equal amount of goals whilst the seekers had no luck in finding the snitch.

An hour in, the scores were 250 – 240, Ireland's way, when a gasp came from the crowd.

Davey the half-naked Aussie yelled out, 'Oi Dench has found a stench.'

'YEAH, GO DENCHIE.' His mate Shane called.

She turned to Draco who had his eyebrows raised at her before they both looked onto the field where the Aussie seeker had turned to dive towards the bottom of the field, causing Lynch to counteract and fly after him. She lifted her binoculars to the action, hoping and praying Lynch would execute the dive without faltering and catch the snitch.

'OH NO, Lynch is going in for the dive. I can't watch.' Pansy said, turning into Theo's shoulder.

'Come on, Lynch, you can do it.' Daphne whispered to herself.

'AND AIDAN LYNCH IS GOING FOR THE DIVE, LET'S HOPE HE CAN HOLD HIMSELF TOGETHER THIS TIME. DENCH HAS THE ADVANTAGE, HIS OBVIOUS BEER GUT NOT KEEPING HIM DOWN AS HE ROUNDS THE EASTERN CORNER OF THE STADIUM AND I DON'T BELIEVE THIS, LYNCH HAS EXECUTED THE DIVE, FLAWLESSLY. THE COACH OF THE IRISH TEAM MUST HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH HIM ON THAT ONE AND WE ARE MIGHTY IMPRESSED, AREN'T WE FOLKS?'

A cheer of approval came from the Irish whilst there were boos from all the Aussies.

'DENCH STILL HAS THE ADVANTAGE BUT LYNCH IS CATCHING UP. THIS IS GOING TO BE A NAILBITER FOLKS. THE AUSSIES NEED TO STACK TO WIN TO GO INTO THE SEMI'S BUT NOT CATCHING THE SNITCH WILL COST THE IRISH THE GRAND TITLE OF QUIDDITCH WORLD CHAMPIONS, A TITLE THEY'VE HELD FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. CAN LYNCH MAKE IT A HATTRICK? AND AS LYNCH CATCHES UP, THE MCGOVERN SCORES ANOTHER GOAL FOR THE IRISH, THE SCORES ARE NOW 260-240. IT'S NECK AND NECK, FOLKS. THE SEEKERS ARE COMING AROUND THE SOUTHERN END OF THE STADIUM NOW AND YOU CAN REALLY FEEL THE ANTICIPATION IN THE AIR RIGHT NOW, ISN'T THAT RIGHT VIRGIL?'

'YES, THAT'S RIGHT SANCHEZ. THIS GAME IS NOT GOING TO DISAPPOINT. THE AUSSIES HAVE POSSESSION OF THE QUAFFLE BUT KEEPER, MCCALLUM KEEPS IT OUT OF THE GOAL PUTTING THE AUSSIES BACK INTO THE DEFENCE WHILST LYNCH OVERTAKES DENCH. DENCH SEEMS TO BE SLOWING THE PACE NOW, GIVING LYNCH THE LEAD, AS THE SNITCH TAKES THE GAME HIGHER INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. HANG ON. WHAT'S GOING ON? DENCH SEEMS TO HAVE STOPPED CHASING THE SNITCH. THIS COULD BE DISASTROUS FOR THE AUSSIES.'

The Aussies were yelling out angrily in protest.

'What's he doing?' Daphne wondered out loud.

'He's not going higher than the bludger zone. Something has to be wrong.' Draco said.

'AND IT APPEARS, FOLKS THAT THIS IS THE END FOR THE AUSSIES IN THIS TOURNAMENT AS DENCH RETIRES TO THE GROUND. AUSSIE COACH, BARNABY MCHOUSTON HAS JOINED US IN THE COMMENTARY BOX. WHAT APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPENED BARNABY?'

'WELL BOYS, THIS IS A DEVASTATING LOSS FOR THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNITY. I'M NOT SURE WHAT WENT ON OUT THERE BUT I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM GIVE 100% IN EVERY GAME AND I WILL BE TALKING TO DENCH ABOUT THIS STUNT AFTER THE GAME.'

'THAT WAS BARNABY MCHOUSTON, FOLKS. AND WE DRAW OUR ATTENTION BACK TO LYNCH WHO IS EDGING CLOSER TO THE SNITCH. HE ROUNDS THE EASTERN END OF THE STADIUM AS THE SNITCH TAKES ANOTHER DIVE. WILL LYNCH STICK THE SECOND DIVE OF THE NIGHT? OH, WHAT'S THIS FOLKS? DENCH APPEARS TO HAVE GOTTEN BACK ON HIS BROOM AND IS CHASING THE SNITCH AGAIN. WE'LL MAKE SURE TO TALK TO DENCH AFTER THE GAME ON HIS RATHER UNCONVENTIAL TACTICS. AND LYNCH HAS PULLED HIMSELF BACK UP IN TIME, HOW MIRACULOUS. THIS IS THE KIND OF FLYING WE LIKE TO SEE. IT'S ONCE AGAIN NECK AND NECK BETWEEN THE SEEKERS.'

'LYNCH HAS THE ADVANTAGE AND THEY ROUND THE WESTERN END AND LYNCH HAS DONE IT. THE IRISH HAVE WON THE QUARTER FINALS, 410 – 250. THEY ARE IN THE CHANCE TO WIN THE QUIDDITCH CUP TITLE FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW. WE NOW CROSS TO OUR ON FIELD REPORTERS TO TALK TO THE PLAYERS.'

Daphne screamed in happiness and hugged the nearest person who happened to be Draco. Her friends laughed at her.

'You're such a weirdo, Greengrass.' Theo said.

'Yeah, if it weren't for Dench's weird tactics, I reckon they would've won.' Pansy mused.

'As if, Lynch is one of the best seekers in the league.' Draco argued.

'Oh, come on, Draco. You're not taking her side are you?' Astoria whined.

'And you think Dench is better than Lynch? Come on, the guy gave up halfway through the chase. What kind of lame tactic was that?'

'HAROLD, CAN YOU TELL US WHAT HAPPENED THERE?' A female reporter asked.

'YEAH, I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH MY BROOM OUT THERE. I'VE BEEN HAVING MINOR ISSUES WITH IT EVER SINCE THE GAME AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA. I WAS HOPING IT WOULDN'T PLAY UP AGAIN TODAY BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY WISH WASN'T GRANTED BUT PROPS TO THE IRISH. THEY PLAYED A SOLID GAME. EVEN THOUGH WE'RE NOT IN THE FINALS, WE'VE PLAYED A GOOD SEASON AND I'M SURE WE'LL BE BACK NEXT YEAR SALLY.' Harold replied and walked off the field.

'Hah. Broom failure, I told you it wasn't just some tactic.' Astoria huffed.

'THANKS HAROLD. NOW AIDAN, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE IN THE FINALS AGAIN?' Sally asked.

'ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I'M ECTASTIC THAT THE LADS HAVE GOT US THROUGH TO THE FINALS AGAIN THIS YEAR. IT'S BEEN A BIT ROUGH GOING ESPECIALLY AGAINST THE BULGARIANS AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO PLAYING THEM NEXT WEEK. THIS GAME WAS A LESSON FOR US TO NOT LET OUR GUARD DOWN FOR NEXT WEEK. WELL DONE TO THE AUSTRALIANS, THEY PLAYED A GREAT GAME.'

The two seekers shook hands and the reporter signed off as people began to dribble out of the stadium towards the portkey and apparition points.

'So, was it worth getting the tickets?' Draco asked, once they were out of the stadium.

'Absolutely. It was one of the best gifts, I could ask for.' Daphne replied.

'Better than a signed snitch?' He teased.

'Nothing could be better than that.' She replied. 'Hey guys, do you want to go and grab something to eat? I don't know about you, but I'm starving.'

'Yeah, why not?' Nott shrugged, dragging his girlfriend along.

'Great. How about we go to this burger place in South London?' She asked.

'Sure. I'm in.' Both of the men said.

'Ugh. Really? Just because you can maintain your figure no matter what you eat.' Astoria complained.

'Come on, love. It won't be so bad. You in Pansy?' He asked.

'Absolutely.' Pansy replied. Daphne told them the address as they walked up to the apparition point but not before she bumped into someone.

'Oh, I'm so sorry.' She looked up and recognised the person instantly. 'Potter.'

'That's ok, Greengrass x two, Malfoy, Nott, Parkinson.' He acknowledged the group.

'Watch where you're going Potter.' Malfoy sneered.

'Harry, come on. We've got to get back to the Burrow.' Ron called.

'Yeah, sorry. Will do.' He mumbled and went to walk away.

'Ha. Potter.' Malfoy mumbled in reply.

'You guys go ahead, I'll catch up.' Daphne said and she went towards Harry. 'Harry.' She called.

'Uh yeah, Daphne.' He turned around.

'I wanted to thank you. My sister told me that you told her about the crystal hippogriff. I loved it. How did you know I wanted it?' She asked.

'Uh. I saw you admiring it when I walked past.' He blushed and turned away.

'Harry come on. Hermione will be waiting for us.' Ron called.

'Um. I've got to go.' He ran his hand through his shaggy black hair.

'Oh yeah. I had better go too. Thanks again.'

'You're welcome.' He replied and ran off with Weasley as she made her way back to her friend group.

'What the hell was that about?' Draco asked when she returned.

'Nothing that concerns you.' She warned.

'Alright. Don't get your wand in a twist. Was just asking what you could possibly have to say to Saint Potter.'

'Can we just go?' She asked.

'Right. Burgers. Onward.' Nott said and they all apparated.

The night had turned out to be really fun. They had gotten burgers and had shared Christmas holiday stories. Draco had teased Nott about his little sister turning him into a pony for the day as he hadn't been allowed to say anything but neigh when she was in sight. They had passed banter back and forward all night and now as Daphne lay in bed, the only thing she could think about was Harry.

Why on earth had he been paying attention to her? Why in the world would he help Tori? They hadn't been the nicest of people all their schooling life. So why would he do such a thing?

She rolled over to check her watch. It was 2am. She wasn't going to get any sleep tonight at this rate. She groaned at the thought of the bags under her eyes. She turned the other way to look at the presents she had received today. Well, if she wasn't going to sleep, she might as well go and inspect her gifts closer. She picked up her wand and lit up the room, slipped out of bed and walked along the cool hardwood floors towards the pile.

The notebook she had received from the stranger caught her eye and she picked it up, once again feeling that sense of ease washing over her again. Whoever gave her this notebook, definitely knew what she needed. She always seemed to be stressing out over something, this journal was going to be a lifesaver. She wondered who the person could be. But as she racked her brains, she couldn't come up with anyone. She laughed audibly when she stumbled upon Harry's name again. Hah. As if he would send her a journal for her birthday. He hardly knew her and why would he care?

She placed the notebook down and picked up the little potion bottle her Aunt had gifted her.

She wondered if it would actually work, her aunt had said it brought her some clarity. Maybe it would bring it to her as well? She sure could use a bit of clarity right now and she didn't really need to do anything for a couple of days, so why not? She shrugged. It might be fun to see a different perspective for a bit. It was better than her dreary home life right now.

She unstoppered the bottle and sniffed the contents. It had a strange orange smell to it. Oh well, here goes nothing. She used the pipette attached to the bottle (how convenient) and dropped a drop of the orange tasting liquid onto her tongue.

Nothing happened.

Hah. She scoffed. Another one of my aunt's crazy deluded ideas.

She stoppered the bottle again and decided that she had had enough of the gifts even though she had only looked at two. She crossed the room again to her dresser. Brushed her hair out of her face and went back to bed muttering nox to turn out the lights.

Little did she know that her scepticism had just foreshadowed what she would wake up to in the morning.

This is my new story. I'd thought I would step away from Dramione and try something new with a Harry x Daphne story. I will still work on my other two stories as well. Hope you enjoy. Until next time. Zozo :)
