I release a big sigh as I exist the restaurant and stretch my arms.
The chilly morning breeze hits me instantly making me shiver
Well, that was a nice conversation I guess
Finally, after weeks I was able to meet the man named Hikigaya Hachiman. The guy who occupied my whole family's minds for the last weeks.
The guy who was supposed to be so interesting that he even garnered the interest of my wife and eldest daughter.
The same guy who also got hit by our limousine two years ago.
The guy who's currently dating my youngest daughter.
Every time I think about it, I have the urge to head back and punch him for getting his hands on my daughter
But surely, I can't do that since well it well be bad for a well-known CEO to punch a high schooler and my wife accepted him, so I have no say in that but to silently accept the new pawn for the yukinoshita's.
Thinking about it I should pity the guy since from now on he will deal with the three goddesses of the yukinoshita family…. plus, me.
Heh I guess we are now comrades in misery.
I really was tentative to leave them both, but I don't want to embarrass my daughter in her date
And so, I start walking in the direction of the station knowing that woman is already waiting there in the car.
No matter how I try she always see through me.
Of course, me suddenly leaving the house for a "walk around town" just 10 minutes before my youngest daughter who enthusiastically was getting ready to head out early in the morning in a holiday after speaking with someone over the phone only means one thing.
And who to blame me?
I'm just making sure my daughter won't be in trouble if she hangs out with shady guys. And thus, it's my duty to ensure that my family is safe. And of course, see the guy who occupied the minds of the whole family in person
And after meeting the guy, well not bad. Although his eyes are a bit concerning, I think it's for the better if he wears glasses to help conceal the rottenness in his eyes.
I reach the station and sure enough there was the black limousine parked on the side.
With a big sigh I approach the car and open the back door and hop inside the car.
"Hello dear, was your walk around town fun?" my lovely wife greets me with a provocative smile as I was making myself comfortable
"y-yes I was able to talk with hikigaya Hachiman finally" damn it why am I nervous?
"So, what is you impression on him?" she asks me even though she already know that I need to accept him anyway
"Well, he seems like a good guy, but he gets anxious rather quickly with people he never met before"
"that's true, Anything else?"
"I think he should start wearing glasses to help with his rotten eyes because it will creep people out"
"I believe yukino will sort it out"
"If that so then it won't be a problem"
My wife smiled in satisfaction then looked at the driver to address him
"Haruno won't be coming so you can go"
What?
"Huh? Haruno is here too?"
"Yes, she went to make sure everything was going smoothly" she shows me the screen of her phone and it shows the conversation between her and haruno.
Scary, my wife and daughter are scary
"Wait, where is haruno going?"
"She said she would check on yukino for a bit, then she wanted to meet one of her friends later" my wife replied in a calm manner as if I should already know the answer
Wait I also need to check on my eldest daughter too. I'm afraid for her too. In fact, I'm more afraid in the case of haruno since she's the outgoing type and thus she attracts more attention than yukino
"Dear?" my wife's cold voice stops me in my tracks and as always, my wife easily sees through me and stops me from getting out of the car.
"y-yes?"
"don't you think that you're overdoing it?" she spoke with her typical scary smile making me shiver in terror and her eyes are that of disapproval
"I-I just wanted to make sure she's not hanging with bad people" I try to reason
"don't worry she just going with some of her friends that I know, and if anything else they need to be afraid of her"
"T-That's true I guess"
As always, I can't win against her
"Since the girls are busy today and we have free time why don't we enjoy ourselves?" my wife scoots closer to me and rest her head on my shoulder
And automatically my hands clasp her hand with ease in the most natural movement I can do. It's a product from years of holding her hand tight
"That sounds nice" I smile "so, our usual spot at the port?"
My wife smiles and closes her eyes and tightens her grip on my hand "sure"
I smile in satisfaction, after all these years my wife is still cute.
"it's the one on the right" I say while tailing behind yukino after climbing up the stairs.
"Oh okay" she replies rather enthusiastically as kamakura was walking beside her
Well after we somehow finished the dishes and dislodged myself from yukino after the kiss because she refused to remove her face from my chest, she d̶e̶m̶a̶n̶d̶e̶d̶ asked very gently that she wants to see my room
And of course, I am anxious since this is the first time someone entering my room and I'm even more anxious because I left my room this morning a little bit missy so I'm hoping that my mother cleaned it while I was away otherwise yukino is going to be disappointed with me and I really don't want that
"This one?" yukino's voice shook me out of my thoughts as she was standing right in front of my room's door
"a-ah yes"
"Hmmm?" yukino smiled mischievously "finally the secrets of hachiman's cave will be unfolded"
"it's not a cave"
"Yes, it is"
"meow~~"
"See? Even kamakura-san agrees with me" yukino smirks while crouching down petting kamakura in which the furry bastard purred in delight
I'll get you for this, you jerk
"Now without a further ado let's uncover the biggest mystery of mankind" yukino says in a weird, excited tone as she straitens up from her crouching and turn to me
Will someone is excited for this
"You make it sound like I am a mythical beast that is about to be uncovered"
"Well, that is true we are discovering the natural habitat of a beast"
"Really? Then what kind of beast I am?"
"a hachiman" yukino folds her hands and give me a provocative smirk saying as if it was obvious
"you're having fun"
"I sure am"
I drop my head down and sigh in defeat. My eyes catch kamakura scratching the door eager to enter
Great there is two cats that are eager to enter my room
"Just get over with it even kamakura wants in" I scratch the back of my head
"fufufu"
Yukino graps the door's handle and turn it to open the door. After a quick prayer from me the door was opened, and it was one of those little time that my prayers got answered
Yes, my mom did clean my room and I'm very grateful
Thank you, mom I'll be sure to clean my room on my own from now on
"Hmm? It's cleaner than I expected" yukino mused while she stood in the middle of the room looking at every detail valid interest.
"See? I'm not the beast you imagine" I say while I drop on my bed leaving yukino to take in the sight of the room
Even if she were to open the closet or any of the drawers it won't be a problem since I made sure to burn the secret stash and that cursed textbook that included the list of people I want to murder. Every time I think I about it I cringy eternally for the stupid stuff I used to do a year ago.
Who would've thought the girl who is now in my room acting freely was a girl who I put her name twice in my list of people to murder a year ago.
I am not the type of guy praise or think positively about himself, but I really did come a long way from I was a year ago. And big thanks go to sensei who put faith in me and of course the kitten who looks like she finished inspecting my room.
As she walked to me and sat down on the bed next to me
"So, find anything suspicious?" I tease
"Unfortunately, no, all I found is a bunch of light novels, video games and other form of useless media that would rot the persons mind" she spoke in a disappointed tone.
She casually insulted my favorite form of media and of course that annoyed me.
"I'll have you know that some of the 'useless media' is actually considered a form of art by many" I reply in a somewhat annoyed tone
"Hmm? That's a tall claim. Well, you have to show me how it is considered a 'form of art'" she smugly proclaimed
"Sure, I'll show you"
"That said" yukino continued with a grin on her face "I don't need to know any of these games to figure out they all don't need interactions with other gamers, right Mr. Antisocial?"
I but on my own proud grin and look at her "actually I do play games that have an online mode"
"But you play it lone wolf style I suppose"
"Is there a problem with that?"
Yukino chuckles "no I think that would be natural for you"
Finding that I have no other things to add on the conversation. I decided that it's best to let her test out a simple game since we just talked about it.
"Hey how about we play a game" I say already have the perfect game in mind
"Eh? I don't think I'll be able to enjoy a thing I don't know anything about" yukino look at me hesitant
"Please knowing you all you need is a couple of rounds, and you would be a master at it" I say while I start my console
"that's true but…"
Really? is she not sure about playing games? Might as well use the special card
"don't worry, I'll play with you it's a simple two players or more cooking game"
"would it really be enjo-"
"You can play the cat chef" I cut her off with the obvious bait I can use on her
And just as if she got imaginary cat ears and tail that perked up at the mention of cats her eyes turned serious that of a cat that is about to chase a prey
"Sure, I don't mind" she said almost mechanically, and I chuckle
I hand her the controller and sit beside her "don't worry it's a sim- "
"Just start the game already Hachiman" yukino ordered making me flinch
"Okay, okay I'll run it right now"
It's co-op game why the competitiveness?

Damn it she didn't even need a one round to get used to the game all she needed was one minute and she already going hyper mood. Level after level she carried me even though I play more than her
Even in the levels where there is a gimmick where the level itself changes did not stop her from getting perfect score. She even went as far as ordering me around and roasting me when I fell behind. A certain British chef would be proud [1]
And currently were in the middle of the second world after she absolutely blazed through the first one and I'm barely keeping up with her.
Seriously it's just a simple cooking game why the fiery competitive spirit?
"haaaah finally, can we have break please?" I say as I laid back on the bed
"agreed" Yukino place the controller down glance at me for a bit then hesitantly lay back beside.
Hmm yes that was cute, very cute
"I'm going to admit" yukino spoke while inching closer to me her smell invading my senses "that was a fun experience"
"Knew you'd see the appeal" I smirked
"Although it might give some people the wrong idea about cooking and how it works"
"that's might true" I chuckle "speaking of cooking, the bento you made was great. Just wanted to say that again"
Yukino smiled "why thank you. Ah, I wanted to ask you, do you have any preferences in regards for food?"
I scratch my cheek with my finger thinking of something easy to make specially for school mornings only to conclude that letting her decide on her own would be the best decision
"I would've said anything without tomatoes, but after today. Anything from you I would happily eat" I say while glancing at her and giving her smile
"Oh my, you flatter me" she smiled and closed her eyes "well then if I put poison and razors in your bento would you still eat it?" [1]
"I'll eat it with a smile" I reply already feeling every organ within me cursing at my idiocy.
Wait why did that sound like something a certain idiot love cook and moron mosshead would say?
"idiot" yukino giggles and grasp my hand with hers "I would never do that, since I'm the one who well be looking after your eating habits"
"The same way as how your mother took care of your dad's?" I wonder as I recall our dinner back then.
"Well, I don't see the problem in taking some advice from my mother …. or nee-san sometimes"
"No, it's not a problem apart from how you make it sound like you are feeding some wild animal"
"Well, I'm feeding the beast known as Hachiman" she giggles cutely and squeezes my hand tighter.
This girl… I don't when her insults that used to annoy in the past turned to something I smile to, but even when she's using me as her jokes, she's still cute.

After we rested a bit from yukino's gaming session it was time for her to leave stating that as much she wanted to meet my parents, she was not ready yet and I respected that. Meeting the parents of your partner is never easy and you could never be ready for it.
And after a short argument over me wanting to escort her back home and her refusing saying it was not necessary, we came to the agreement that I would only walk her to the station. And that's what we are currently doing me holding her bags in one hand her holding my other hand in hers.
I don't when we started holding hands normally but it's nice and warm.
And me walking her to the station now gave me an idea.
"Say yukino" I spoke gathering her attention.
"Hmm?"
"You come for school using the train, right?"
"That is correct" and in an instant she realized what I'm thinking about immediately "No, it's fine you don't need to go to such length thank you" she closed her eyes as if she's trying to state the obvious.
"I know but still, I'm not letting you ride alone. Who knows what perverts ride on the same train" I counter with the obvious reason.
A sudden smile appears on her face "sure with you around as their leader no one would dare to approach us"
I could only sigh at her roast
"But suit yourself" she continued "that if you managed to wake up early"
"don't worry no clock work better that the Komachi-clock" I give my proudest smile "I'll ride with Komachi until the near the station and Komachi will continue on bike while I meet up with you on the train" I explain my well-crafted plan.
Yukino looks at me with amusement dancing in her eyes I guess it's natural since the Hachiman-clock isn't working" and she finish it with a cute giggle.
I only chuckle at her remark.
We kept walking and the station is finally visible. And as we walk, I feel yukino's mood shift and her grip on my hand tightens.
Hmm? Is something wrong?
"Hey, Hachiman" yukino's voice was that of sad and that made me stop and look at her with worry.
"Is something wrong?" I squeeze her hand hoping to ease her worry
yukino only kept looking at our clasped hands "I think yuighama-san is going to talk to again soon"
her words were simple, but I instantly knew what she meant.
Yuighama is going to confess to me again.
"Did she tell you?" I join in at the staring contest we have with our cuddled hands.
"No but I have a feeling she would, because normally she would've bugged my phone about the holiday, but she didn't" yukino's voice was full of worry and I don't blame her.
The only friend she knew going after her partner would send anyone into a distressed state. And I need to do my part as her partner. Not just for yukino's sake but for yuighama's since I pulled her into this.
It was my own fault that I didn't but a closure to her feelings.
I left yukino's hand and put it in my heart and yukino looks at me puzzled.
"don't this time I'll be sure to end it" I give her my best soothing voice
Yukino steps closer to me and rest her head on my shoulder just like that time on the bridge
"Thank you" her beautiful sincere voice reaches my ears.

We finally reached the station after remembering that we were in plain site for the public although it was embarrassing but seeing the hatful glares from the jealous guys was good.
Yukino took her bags from me and placed it on the ground then proceeded to take both my hand in hers.
"Thank you for today it was fun" her smile was so bright it would set a record for brightness
Feeling the heat rise to my cheeks I fumbled my reply "a-ah I enjoyed it too"
She giggles at my awkwardness and proceeds to let go of my hands
"Well then see later master of awkwardness"
And with one swift motion she gave me a kiss on the cheek and took her bag and left in hurry
Wh-wha?
I stood there in the middle of the station dumfounded, blushing heavily and pretty sure looked like an idiot.
And before she went through the corner, she turned to me and gave me wink with a smile and scurried away
Whaaa?
Since when did she take haruno's advice?
No good that was so cute yet so embarrassing that I need to go back and scream my lungs out to my billow.
Or that what I wanted to do if not for the three heads poking around the corner like some cartoon characters that they appeared as soon as I turned around.
And they belong to Komachi, my mother and my dad.
Komachi had her signature toothy grin on her face
My mom had her hand covering her mouth with a surprised yet happy look on her face.
And my father had for a proud look on his face, the same on that I thought I would never see again on that old bastard's face.
Oh god this situation is getting worse.
The best way too deal with such situation? Easy, stuff your hands in your pocket and walk away.
And walking away I did, ignoring their presence is best course of action.
And of course, they followed me and bombarded me with questions.
Fist was Komachi who crashed into me "hey, hey oni-chan I never thought you had it in you but I'm so proud Komachi is seriously crying from joy"
My mom followed shortly after "hey who was that beauty? Is she my future daughter-in law? Hey when are you going to invite her to dinner so we can talk to her probably?"
And lastly my dad with the most bizarre statement "good job son I'm proud of you" he continues to pat my shoulders "today you are drinking with me"
"But I am a minor" I try to remind the old fart.
"Nah don't sweat the boring stuff, I started drinking when I was at your age" he said with his chest buffed in full proudness
Me and both my mom and sister just stare at him blankly.
Sigh
Today's dinner is going to be noisy and interesting to say the least ….am I happy?

Finally, back from the dead…. hopefully.
Now, I really apologize for the late half chapter, but shit happens and I'm really sorry for the people on discord whom I said that I would update soon
And you ask why? Well because as soon I finished, I did a reread on what I thought first when I was done was "holy shit this is cringe" so I had to rewrite half the damn thing
As I said before trying to make the characters as much as possible less OOC is really hard.
Now for the next chapter is the long waited confrontation
When I'm going to finish it? God know lol
