Hello guys! Cal here! I'll keep this note short, you can read it or not: this is my first fanfic ever posted, and it's honestly me trying to find a way to spend my time and also to quench my rampant imaginative brain (I'm literally going crazy, jk but you know what I mean). So here goes:

Oh, and of course, recognizable characters are Rick Riordan's.

Prologue: But Of Course

Percy leaned his chin into the palm of his hand, gazing out the bus window. The streets, people, buildings blurred in a blend of color as he huffed a bit, thinking over again for the tenth time, what had happened that day.

Kacy Bull, of course, had happened. It was nothing out of the ordinary, really; she was a constant thorn in the side as well as a bully through and through. It was normal that she had been picking on him. It was normal that she had been picking on his one and only "friend" (really only an acquaintance from being victim to Kacy's name calling), but alas -

"Pshhh, she totally deserved it," Percy muttered into his hand as he thought about how he had decked her in the face. Of course, being the gentleman he was, he immediately, sort of, regretted it, but at the same time, he realized "screw chivalry in the face of bullying" because he was not willing to let shoving his friend's face in the toilet bowl slide. Besides, he thought. It wasn't like I was going to get through the whole year at that school anyway. He was bound to be expelled. It was like an unwritten law since the beginning of time, as if the fates had preordained Percy to be expelled from all nine of his schools since he was seven years old.

The bus slowed, stopping for a few people to get off and for others to get on. Percy perked up as a mom and her child walked on, the woman's stomach having a noticeable bump. He gestured to the mother who caught his gaze, and she thanked him as he stood and stepped to the side for her to sit down. Percy simply smiled brightly, ruffling the little boy's hair.

If there was anything Percy knew, it was that mothers were superheroes, so it was only natural that Percy felt himself feel light on his feet as soon as the bus restarted. Mom, he thought, face falling every so slightly. He gripped the bar a bit tighter.

I'm so screwed.

It was pretty short, but other chapters should be longer. Hope it was enjoyable? It might have been a bit cliche with Percy getting expelled again, but of course, it's just one of those perks that we all like about him among a billion others. Have a good and safe day :)
