Prologue

Everybody has that one best friend who's sort of like their sidekick at the same time as being their friend. For me, for a long time, I thought my Pokemon were the ones in that place, but here's the story of how I got my sidekick best friend.

I shut my suitcase and looked around at my room. It was just a nice, big guest room that the White Queen had provided for me with a canopy bed, two bedside tables with a lamp on one of them, and a bathroom off to the side. But just like my room back in Halloween Town, I'd spent many restful nights here, mainly after a harrowing adventure. But now, Alice and I were moving on from Wonderland and, once again, heading back to the real world. We weren't going to return to our expedition to China. We decided that we would have our own adventure somewhere else. Where, we didn't know. But we promised the people of Wonderland that we would come back and visit. After all, we'd been told that there were multiple portals to Wonderland all around the real world; we just had to keep our eyes open for them.

I heard a knock on my door.

"Yes?" I called.

Alice entered. "Ready to go?" she asked.

"Yeah." I grabbed my suitcase handles and followed her out of the room.

When we came out to the courtyard, practically everyone from Wonderland was there. They were all smiling, but I could see tears in some of their eyes. I soon spotted Coraline in the crowd and ran up to hug her.

"I'm sorry for leaving you again," I said, suddenly feeling like a jerk.

"Hey, you're an adventurer," she said understandingly. "As one myself, I believe I know how you feel."

I broke away from her, looking straight into her face. "Plus, I feel like I should be moving on, too. I've been away from home for too long. It's time I should be getting back before my parents begin to worry," she continued.

"But you'd only have been gone a couple of seconds," I explained. "That's how it was when we went back the other time."

"I know. So, I probably shouldn't keep them waiting another second longer."

We both shared a smile.

"I promise I'll keep writing to you every week," I said, stroking her cheek.

"I know you will," she said, taking my hand.

We then kissed.

After we broke apart, I ran after Alice. We soon ran into Hatter and the White Queen. They smiled at us, the White Queen having tears form in her eyes. We then all group hugged. None of us said anything, so I decided to blurt out the only thing that came to mind: "Thank you."

Alice, Hatter, and the White Queen had also said it at the same time I did. We looked at each other, smiling.

"Remember you two," I said smartly to Hatter and the White Queen, "be good."

They both looked surprised at my remark. They then looked at each other, then looked away, both smiling and blushing. I smiled at their shyness.

We then turned to everyone in the crowd.

"Thank you all for everything!" I called out, stepping forward. "Your hospitality and gratitude have meant so much to us. And it has been our honor protecting you all and this world many times …. We love you all."

Everyone clapped. The White Queen then handed us two vials of Jabberwocky blood. We both took swigs of it, the familiar grape juice flavor washing through my mouth. Everyone and everything started to become blurry, and soon, it all turned black.

When Alice and I opened our eyes, we were, once again, climbing out of the rabbit hole and into the meadow outside of the Ascot's property. We quickly ducked down beneath the bushes, not wanting to get caught by Hamish in case he was around. God, anyone but him.

"So … now where do you want to go?" I asked.

"I dunno," Alice answered. "Wherever you will go."

I thought for a minute, and then an idea popped into my head. I pulled out my time machine (which was currently in its pocket-sized form), clicked the button, and it grew to normal size. I opened the door and held out my hand to Alice.

"Shall we?" I asked.

She smiled and took it. We both clambered inside, I put in some random coordinates, and then, we were off.

Author's Note:

Hey everyone. I'm sorry that I'm late in uploading something. I got back from Florida and then school started. But anyway, this is my new fanfic that I've cooked up. Some things to establish first: I know that I made it seem like in the last fanfic that Pinocchio and Alice would be going on adventures in Wonderland, but I decided that this would be the next installment, so please no complaints, okay. So enjoy, and please remember to leave a review.
