Lily seemed to collapse in her sister's arms and Severus immediately rushed to her and helped her. Lily was grateful for the comfort even though they didn't know what was wrong. Her mother made her and Severus a plate of food and sent them up to her room before asking Lily if she could tell the family. Lily nodded yes that she could. Lily did not want to tell her father and sister about it. It was hard enough telling Severus. Would he hate her?
The two teenagers slowly walked up the stairs and sat down on Lily's bed. Something special must have happened because her father had ordered take out from their favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Even her upset stomach could not stop her from being hungry for this. She then realized she had not eaten anything at all today and began stuffing the food into her mouth.
"Lily what's wrong? '' Severus asked after she had finished eating. She took a sip of her water bottle and curled up into his side under her favorite soft blanket.
It was hard for her to speak. She could tell him. She had to.
"I'm pregnant Sev, we did something with the spell I don't know what" She said softly before breaking down in tears. The dark haired boy said nothing but instead crawled under the covers with her and held her.
"I love you Lily" he whispered in her ear a moment later.
"I love you too Sev"
That's how they spent the night, together in eachothers arms.
Lily was scared to go outside her room the next morning. She had to face her family who now knew about the little one she was going to have. Her sister would be there for her. Her mother would be there to love her. Her father would support her even though he would be disappointed, he loved severus like a son so he would be very angry but he wouldn hurt him. God She forgot James Potter was sleeping on their sofa, she didn't know how he would react. The persistent morning sickness gave her no break that morning either and her mother was sympathetic and brought her up some peppermint and ginger tea. It did not calm her stomach but it stopped the vomiting. Lily had decided that today with Severus she would go to Diagon Alley to purchase a few magical pregnancy books and some magical remedies for morning sickness.
Lily unfocuses her eyes as she sits on her bed next to Severus, she isn't ignoring the situation but it was nice to not think for a moment and just zone out. Lilie's mother joins them sitting on the side of the bed.
"I want you both to know that we are all here for you and we love you, I wish this would have happened to you both later in life but it didn't so we have to deal with what we have now, and we should all be happy"
Lily saw the wisdom in her mothers words and decided that she was right. Wasting time feeling sorry for herself was stupid. She would just be happy with the situation no matter how many people would disapprove of it.
"I know you must be scared to go down but everyone down there knows the situation and wants to see you and will support you and we also have some very happy news to discuss regarding your sister.
Lily's eyes lift to her mother and then back down to her cup of tea.
"Ok" the redhead responds before lifting her tired shivering body from the bed. Severus puts his arm around his love as if to steady her. They start to trudge down the stairs.
Everyone in the living room was awkward. They ate breakfast in complete silence.
"After breakfast Lily and I are going to go to Diagon Alley to pick up some school books and well as some magical pregnancy books"
"Ok have fun but there's something we need to talk about first"
Everyone looks at James and Petunia.
"Yesterday I made everything in my room float, I have magic like you Lily!"
Despite the worry and heaviness in her heart she felt overjoyed for her sister. They would have so much fun in the coming years when they both were going to hogwarts. Going through her pregnancy would be so much easier with her sister there for her.
"So If you're going to Diagon Ally I think it would be a good idea for Petunia to get robes and books and a wand and all her other school essentials" says James as he finishes the sunny side up egg on his plate and stands up.
Despite her circumstances Lily giggled happily, Petunia had never been to diagon alley, Lily knew she would enjoy it.
"First Lily and I are going to floo to Hogwarts and speak with Headmaster Dumbledore about the current situation" Severus says softly to everyone at the table.
"Ok, well how about we meet in Diagon alley at one o'clock"James replies.
"Sounds fair we will see you then" Severus answers before clearing the empty plates and helping Lily up the stairs to get ready.
Remus couldn't focus, he is a 16 year old boy, a gay one at that. Sometimes he felt horrible for secretly having a crush on one of his best mates but he had learned a long time ago that trying to change his feelings was ridiculous and never worked. Right now he didn't feel Horrible, he felt horny. He was 16 and his hormones were raging no one could blame him. At the moment he was sleeping over at Sirus's house. It was late in the morning, probably around 10, they were still in bed because they had been up playing exploding snap and eating the chocolate frogs till three in the morning. Remus at the moment was suffering. He was sleeping in the same bed as Sirus and the shaggy dark haired Grifindor that held Remus's attention never slept in night clothes. Underwear was his preferred choice. That almost killed Remus everytime they had a sleepover.
Sirius grumbles and turns over and faces Remus. His lips are perfect, the mousy brown haired boy thinks.
'If only I could steal a kiss' Remus thinks. Sirius has always been a deep sleeper, Remus saw no problem with just taking a quick kiss. And so he decides just to lean in a little bit just so his lips are centimeters from from the sleeping dark haired Gryfindor. Remus moves his face just a little bit further and his lips touch the other boys.
Sirius wakes to a warm pressing feeling on his lips. His eyes snap open to see Remus's face so very close to his, their lips connected. Terrified he jumps back, Immediately he sees the horror and embarrassment paint his friend's face. Sirius studies his friend's face for a moment trying to believe what just happened. Sure he had dreamed of this before so maybe this was another dream. Sure he had had girlfriends but they never made him feel happy and content. He had never labeled his feelings as a 'crush' on Remus. He had had dreams about being close and intimate with men, not just Remus, but mostly him. This new surprise situation excited Sirius. It seemed romantic and he wasn't entirely against fooling around. Being with a man had always been something he wanted to try anyway. So he pulls his body towards Remus and presses his lips on the other boys. Remus seems just as surprised as he was just a moment ago.
Lily closes her eyes under the warm torrent of water running from the shower head. She was still in shock from the previous day's events. Her body felt different. It felt like she was floating outside of herself. As if she wasn't in control of her body and its workings. It was interesting and slightly exciting. However the excitement she felt betrayed her logical brain. Everyone else around her would be urging her to kill her baby, everyone except her family and possibly close friends that is. The point being that it was looked down upon for a sixteen year old girl to be pregnant. She would be seen by some people as a whore even though she had only been with Severus twice. Some people would probably think she would never be successful. Some would support her of course, she wouldn't let her negativity bias completely dampen the joyful emotions she felt. Even though these happy feelings of peace and sometimes pure bliss felt so foreign to her. It was like a beautiful buzzing in her body that was just the most amazing feeling in the entire world.
Lily turned the nozzle of the shower and the water stopped its downpour. She ran her hands down her body and slicked off the water before stepping out of the tub to dry herself off. With the towel wrapped around her body she scurries off to her room to dress. To her surprise she finds Severus in tier sitting on her bed reading a book.
"Oh sorry," he says, "I'll be downstairs waiting for you"
"No its ok you don't have to, you've seen my body bare before which is the exact reason we're in this situation"
"Severus chuckles and sits back down on the bed and continues to read his book. Lily is slightly disappointed that he doesn't watch her dress however it's unimportant so she pushes it from her mind.
She is the most beautiful amazing woman he has ever seen in his life. She had dropped the towel from her body so he would see her beautiful backside. Severus watched intently as his beautiful lady love put on her underthings and a comfortable cotton dress. and a wool sweater. As soon as Lily turned he looked back down at his book, she snickered as she noticed his flushed cheeks. Softly she laid down next to him with her wet hair staining the sleeve of his shirt with a dark wet stain.
"I love you" She says softly, nuzzling her face into the crook of his arm.
"It's almost ten we should go love" He states checking his watch. The red head mumbles something and scoots further into his body feeling for warmth. Swiftly he scoops her up and sets her down on the floor. Lily giggles and wraps her arms around his chest. He responds by doing the same with his arms.
"I brought over some floo powder from my house," Severus says motioning to the little vial of green poder he had placed on her desk.
"Ok well let's not waste time and get this over with, Dumbledores expecting us" Lily replies softly. Severus knows she is nervous. After all she was one of the brighted witches in the school and she had made an accident that changed her life dramatically, she could only hope the headmaster would be understanding.
The couple walked downstairs and stood in front of the fireplace. James and Petunia were at the kitchen table drinking orange juice and talking about the magical world. Petunia seemed so excited and happy Lily was happy for her.
"Ok lets go" Severus warns as he throws and small pinch of floo powder in the tiny place and said, "Headmasters office, hogwarts"
All the fireplaces in the school were no floo connected, ever. It was a safety measure to make sure no bad people came in and to make sure students don't sneak out. The only fireplace connected to floo was the one in the headmasters office. It was the office that LIly and Severus had just appeared in.
"I was expecting you, sit have a caramel peanut" Dumbledore says kindly immediately after the smoke clears.
They do sit down but they do not eat the sweets he offered. Severus doesn't feel properly eating them before he shares bad news and LIly is still nauseous.
"If you're coming on behalf of your sister Miss Evans, you need not fret. She is enrolled at the school and we are all set up for her."
"It's not that" Lily says with her eyes shifted down. Dumbledore cocks an eyebrow once before his face goes back to his normal unreadable expression.
"We are expecting a.. Um baby… Severus and I"
"Oh… how exciting, despite your young age, congratulations"
Both teens are grateful how easy this conversion is going.
"This won't be the first time we have had this situation in hogwarts. The last time this happened it was my first year as headmaster, we are prepared for things like this so don't worry Miss Evans you won't have to leave school"
Both Lily and Severus sigh in relief, Lily loves her education she would be devastated if she had to leave.
"We are prepared for these things, there is a commons room, One with a private bathroom, two bedrooms and a nursery, We are prepared for the birth of a child here as well'
Severus and Lily sigh and calm down. Things would be easier like this.
"Now I am sorry to cut things short however I have an extremely important meeting in a few minutes. Have a nice day my friends," Dumbledore says, showing them to his fireplace. Severus took a pinch of green powder from the vase on the top of the fireplace and spoke of their hoped destination. Both teenagers jumped though and landed in Diagon Alley. Lily promptly threw up.
" I forgot that floo makes pregnant women sick. I'm sorry love" Severus says, rubbing her back. With a wave of his wand he cleans up the mess she had made on the sidewalk.
"It's ok but before we go and do anything can we please go and find some potions for morning sickness" Lily asks. Sev nods and leads her through the crowd of people to the aprochethy store. Therethey would give lily potions and he could buy the ingredients and ask for the recipe to make them himself.
The young couple enter the building and look around for a few moments. Severus soon retreats to the back looking for a few ingredients for the pepperup potion one he had read was good for pregnant women when they had the sniffles.
"Can I help you young lady?"
Lily freezes terrified, what will this woman think of her asking for a morning sickness potion at sixteen.
"Oh um do you have nausea potions?" Lily asks quietly.n
"What kind of Nausea hun. Flu, food poisoning, we have a million different nausea potions for many different things' ' The shopkeep lady asks.
"Oh um… morning sickness… you know pregnancy" Lily elaborates.
"Oh yes of course" She says, retreating into the back. She comes back out with a pack of 14 little vials., "One of these is good enough for a day for comfort, take it every morning at the same time" The lady explains.
"Ok well I am a student so I can't come ehr every two weeks to purchase more so I will have to brew my own. May I please have the instructions on how to make it." The redheaded witch asks.
"Yes of course I will order the ingredients for you would you like we to order 9 months worth of ingredients for you I can send them to your house when they have come in"
"Thank you that would be lovely but only 8 months worth of ingredients please"
"Ok then that will be 7 galleons I will have your ingredients on their way shortly"
Ok thank you" Lily says handing her money. Severus had insisted on giving her a little bag of coins in case she found something she needed when he wasn't there. She wouldn't spend all his money, she would spend half his and half hers so it was fair. She would feel bad if she spent all his money.
The redhead Grfindoor exits the store and sees Severus waiting for her outside.
"When did you leave? I never saw you go through the door" Lily asks
"Oh I left almost as soon as I went in because I could not find the ingredients I needed" Severus explains. He reaches behind him and pulls out a jar filled with olives. Lily's stomach grumbled. AShe loved olives and sev knew that.
"Thank you" she says, popping open the jar lid and reaching in to grab the delicious pickled vegetables, "I do love you you know" Lily says as she drops one into her mouth, she smiles as she discovers they are filed with garlic.
Severus smiles and puts an arm around her, one thing he had always known about Lily: if you gave her food she loved, she would be forever content.
