A Slave for Her

Chapter Seventeen

(The End)

Raven's eyes flew open as she stared at the ceiling. A minute passed before she realized where she was and who she was.

Rolling on her side, she saw the sleeping face of Damian. She smiled, grateful that he was by her side. It had been a long year adjusting to her return to Earth, but Damian, their friends, and family had made it easy.

She jumped.

The smooth metal of Damian's wedding ring touched her back along with his hand as he pulled her closer to him. She snuggled against his chest.

"Did you see another one?" He asked. His voice sounded clear and alert despite the tiredness that she felt from him.

"Yes."

"A bad one?"

"An interesting one. The Raven from that dimension is currently in a throuple with you and Dick. I don't know how it ends, but they were having a satisfying threesome with a tied-up Raven when I woke up." She smiled as she thought about 'that' Raven with two husbands and three kids.

"Satisfying?" Damian pulled away from her, causing her to look up into his hooded eyes.

"That was how she described it in her head."

He studied her for a short while before pulling her back in his arms. "I'm lucky that this dimension has a more sexually tame Raven. I doubt that I would be able to share you with someone else. I'm already having a difficult time dealing with your bond with Grayson."

"Hmm. That Raven's Damian and Dick that had thought the same way as you, yet they had managed to share her as a wife...eventually."

"...Raven?"

"Yes?"

"You're not covertly into threesomes, are you? Most of the Ravens in other dimensions are in some sort of polyandrous relationship with two or more Robins."

"No. I'm not. And most Ravens are in a happy, monogamous relationship. You only notice the polyandrous ones. It might be you who are into threesome."

"I'm not. I simply can't comprehend why someone would want to share you. It must have been an eccentric dimension compared to ours."

She didn't correct him. That dimension had been more similar to this one compared to the hundreds that she had visited over the past year.

It was a side effect of her powers accidentally interacting with the mirror when they had passed through it. When she slept, her soul self would leave her body and temporarily merge with the Raven of another dimension.

Majority of the Raven whose lives that she had merged with lived difficult but happy lives while few had experienced horrible lives worse than her. There were a handful of Ravens who had beautiful lives with no hardships. However, there was only one other Raven whose soul self had the ability to gain insight into other Ravens' worlds as she did.

She had met 'that' Raven about a month ago. 'That' Raven was on a mission to save her planet from an evil threat. She was trying to gather Ravens from other dimensions - both good and evil - to help her. So far, she had only been able to communicate with her.

Like her, 'that' Raven could only see another Raven's world through their eyes without communicating with them. The two of them were trying to change that in order to save ''that Raven's world.

"So..." A sleepy Damian brought her back to the present. "Does this mean that Grayson and I are still tied?"

Raven smiled. "Yes, Damian, you both are still tied."

There was a common factor in almost all the other Ravens' lives that she had seen.

A Robin.

In some dimensions, a Raven would only meet one Robin while in others, she would encounter all four the male Robins. And, there were a couple of dimensions that only had female Robins.

Most of the time, a Raven would either be friends with a Robin or in a relationship with one or more. Sometimes, they would be enemies or complete strangers, only knowing each other for a second. Other times, they knew each other for a lifetime.

On the rare occasions when a Robin wasn't in the picture, that Raven would either have a short or unpleasant life.

Yet, of all the Robins that she would encounter, Damian and Dick were the two that she would enter into a relationship with the most, for good or for bad.

So far in her dimension, Damian's and her relationship had been amazing.

It had mirrored the dimension she just saw with a few variations.

Raven's eyelid fluttered until the sunlight that peeked through the curtains woke her up. She rolled on her back and touched her stomach. She bit her trembling lips as she moved her hands up and down her stomach, only to remove them to wipe away her tears.

She calmed herself with breathing exercises in the corpse pose. When she finished, she was ready to face the day.

Her feet touched the ground.

She hesitated, wanting to get back in bed, but deciding two days in bed was enough or else she would never get up.

She stood up then sat down. Two deep breaths later, she stood once more.

Magic flowed through her body, erasing the tear stains from her face and the dirt from her body. She stared at the light that came through the curtains.

One minute.

Two minutes.

Ten minutes.

The smell of food cooking caught the attention of her rumbling stomach. She got dressed, using the clothes that Dick left for her, and followed the aroma out of the room to the kitchen area, where she found Dick at the stove.

Standing at the kitchen's entrance, her heart warmed at the sight of her friend. She missed him.

He turned around and threw her the boyish grin that he was famous for. "Hey, babe. I'll call you back. She's up...Ok, bye. Love you both. Give Elainna a kiss for me, and tell her, daddy will be home soon."

At his words, she noticed the earpiece in his ear. "Sorry, I didn't notice that you were on the phone. I would have come back later on."

"Don't be ridiculous. Come in and sit down." He nodded to the table. "I'm finished making waffles and pancakes."

"Blueberry?" She asked, sitting down.

His contagious smile widened at her before he turned back to the stove and removed the pancake from the stove. "Of course. You got me hooked. You know, for years I never knew why I decided to put blueberries in my waffles that day at the Tower. But now that I got my memories back, it all makes sense."

Her heart clenched. "I'm sorry...for altering your memories. I.." Her head dropped, unsure of what to say to him, as she felt his emotions coming through their bond.

The room was silent except for the sound of Dick moving around the kitchen. Soon the noise was replaced by only Dick's footsteps, then the sound of a plate of waffles being placed in front of her. She looked up to see Dick sitting across from her.

He said a quick prayer for them then poured syrup on his pancakes. "I was angry at you when my memory first returned. I couldn't understand why you didn't trust us to protect you or why you gave up so easily.

"Yet, deep in my heart I know the answer, and I hated it." His blue eyes met hers.

"I'm sorry, Raven. I'm sorry that we weren't strong enough to protect you then and for what you must have endured all these years."

Tears ran down their eyes. "It was worth it, knowing that you and our friends had happy lives."

"You deserve happiness too...and peace, Rae. Those are the two things that I'll always wish for you." He reached over the table to wipe away her tears before wiping away his.

"Let's eat before the food gets cold." He said, handing her the syrup. "And you can explain to me how you ended up in Damian's bed."

In this dimension, they were never lovers, only friends.

"I need to talk to Raven."

Raven glanced up from the book that she was reading to the door at the sound of the familiar voice.

Dick had warned her that he would track her down. Sooner than later. He had been right. It only took Damian a week to find Dick's safe house.

"Damian, I think you should give her some space. She's been through a lot."

"She can have some space after we talk. She left without me explaining everything."

"You can understand why? You betrayed her, and she lost her son."

"I didn't betray her!"

"She thinks you did."

"That's why I need to talk with her."

"You can't do everything on your time." He said in a gentle voice. "You know Raven, at least the version that you met on R'Fina. What do you think she needs right now?"

The hideout was quiet until she heard a knock on the door and Dick's voice.

"Rae?"

She got out of the bed, traipsed to the door, and opened it.

There was Dick with a smile. "Hey, dinner's ready."

"Where's Damian?" She whispered.

"He decided to give you some space, but I'm sure that he will be back tomorrow."

And he did. He came when Dick was away, running an errand. He came bearing a gift.

Raven blinked back the tears as she stared at the scroll in front of her. It was almost the exact replica of the birthday gift that she had left on R'Fina.

It swayed her heart, so she pushed it away.

While she didn't have a personal relationship with Damian before she altered everyone's memories, she knew that he didn't do anything without a reason. He was just like his father.

"What do you want, Damian?"

"I want you to come home with me."

"Home? The one where I was a prisoner?"

"That... that was a misunderstanding that I'm trying to clear up now. I could if only you would let me explain!"

"What's there to explain! You lied to me and used me to save your grandfather, and you wanted to continue to use me and my son for the League's mission!"

"The son that you decided to abort without asking me my opinion! I never lied to you, Raven. You knew I had an agenda before you took me into your body. I-"

Silence filled the air after she slapped him, shocking them both.

The shock was enough for Raven to gain control of her emotions. "You're right. You did have an agenda and so did I. But I was the only fool in love to risk my safety for someone that I loved and who I thought loved me back."

"Raven, I didn't mean-"

She turned into her soul self and spirited away.

Raven spent the next few days flying across the country until Cyborg tracked her down.

"What's your next move?" Cyborg asked, coming into his office of his tech company with a tub of ice cream and a plate of fries.

He sat beside her on the couch as she placed her book aside. "I don't know...Earth has changed so much since I've been gone. I feel like a stranger in my own home."

Cyborg handed her a spoon and opened the tub. "It's been ten years. It will take some time before you get used to it again."

"I know... but… it would be hard to pick up my life again, especially work. And after everything that happened, I don't know if I can return back to being a..."

"You'll figure it out. If you don't want to work as a birth doula again, you can join the League until you figure it out." He ate some ice cream.

"Is Zatanna still in the League?"

"I guess that's a no. How about training the Titans with Starfire?"

"I think I'll pass." She placed a spoon full of ice cream in her mouth.

"Well, you have time to think about it. You're welcome to stay in the townhouse as long as you want."

"Thanks."

"But you have to explain to Willow and Star why you want to live alone after returning, instead of with one of your friends."

Raven groaned, knowing her friends would try to persuade her to change her mind.

"Speaking of returns, Dick told me, you returned with Damian Al Ghul."

Raven groaned again. "You two still like to gossip."

"You should be happy we haven't told Changeling about your relationship with him. It would be all over the news by now."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. Also, the butler called. He said that he had a stern talking with Damian. He won't bother you for a while."

"Hmm…"

That was a lie. Damian had been contacting her every night since leaving Nightwing's hideout. And she didn't know how to block him out of her mind.

"Will you please stop?"

Raven appeared in Damian's bedroom in a farmhouse in between Gotham and Blüdhaven.

She blushed and turned around. The moonlight entered the room, revealing a naked Damian.

"Can you put on some clothes?"

She jumped when she felt his arms around her."You came into my room... I miss you, and I'm sorry." He whispered in her ear.

She slipped out of his arms and put distance between them. "I came here to tell you to stop. Stay out of my head." For the last month, since she left the hideout, he would recite love poems to her. It was ... sweet but annoying.

He snapped his fingers to turn on the light, revealing his naked body. She kept her eyes on his face as he took the towel around his neck to wipe his hair.

"What? You don't like Haiku. Grayson said you did."

"Of course, he did." Dick always supported Damian.

"Give me the necklace," she demanded with her hand out. It had taken her a month to figure out that Damian was using the necklace to enter her thoughts and deliver his poems. It seems that the necklace had more abilities than she thought.

"I can't." He wrapped the towel around his neck, lifted up the necklace, dropped it, and revealed a burnt palm to her.

"You'll have to take it off yourself. The mages said so."

She observed him for a moment. "Keep it." She started to fade into the floor.

"If you don't like haiku poems, then what should I recite to you and our baby?"

She stopped. "Our baby?" She scoffed. "He's gone. The pool of blood that you found me in should have told you that."

He lifted an eyebrow. "I thought you knew. The mages saved our son. According to their words, you should be able to sense him now."

Her heart throbbed. She floated out of the portal and set her feet on the floor. "Damian, don't lie to me."

"I'm not. You can check for yourself."

She stared at him then gulped. She calmed her breath and closed her eyes. Her hands touched her abdomen. She felt the baby. She felt her son.

Tears fell as she was engulfed in her arms.

"He's alive. He's alive"

"I know. We're having a baby." Damian whispered, and Raven flew away. "Raven, stop running away from me. Please. I'm not trying to hurt you."

She shook her head. "I know you. Your family. You're not going to use my baby for the League's purpose." She still remembered the conversation that she had with Talia.

"No one is going to touch, let alone use our child. Raven, you misunderstood the situation. I've been trying to tell you." When she said nothing, he pleaded, "If you don't believe me, take off the necklace and look inside my mind. You will see the truth."

She took small steps towards him. Once she reached him, her shaky hands removed the necklace from his neck.

Immediately, she was bombarded with emotions of love and longing and memories of the past two months.

She saw Damian plotting with Ben to release her from her prison and the League of Assassin's grip. His anguish over seeing her on the floor with blood around her. His panic and fear at discovering that she was gone. His frustration with Dick. The happiness that he felt because she was here.

And his love for her.

"Raven, I love you." His hands gripped her wrists. "And our baby. I would never hurt the two of you. Trust me."

"I thought you betrayed me."

He sighed. "There are rules set in place. Even though my grandfather and mother favor me and love me in their own way, I also have to follow those rules. If I would have left with you then, like I wanted to, we would have been on the run for the rest of our lives. I didn't want that for us or our son. I wanted to tell you everything, but the prison walls have ears, and the necklace wouldn't come off. When I saw you in the cell, after…" He closed his eyes and opened them. "I regretted not visiting you once. I'm sorry..."

Her lips touched his.

He pushed her against the nearest wall.

She pulled away. "Dick's right. I do like haiku poems."

"Let's talk about that later." He whispered against her lips. "I don't like you mentioning another male name before, during, and after we copulate." He devoured her lips, and they spent the next two days in bed.

Five days later, they were married.

"Raven."

"Hmm?" She kissed his chest and snuggled closer.

"A drop of your love, is enough for a lifetime, several I long for"

She smiled. "Who wrote that one?"

"My feelings for you."

Her heart warmed. She blushed. "I wish I could spend several lifetimes with you as well."

She meant it. Being with Damian had brought her more happiness than she could imagine, even with their difficulties.

"... Should we kill the Flash and all the speedsters?"

At his tone of voice, she pulled away from him and sat up to look at him. "Damian, tell me you're not serious."

"The thought may have crossed my mind once...or a hundred times."

"You can't kill them."

"Why not? They already destroyed several timelines where you and I were a couple. That's why Grayson and I are tied. I simply want to ensure that they don't destroy this one. Besides, it wouldn't take that much effort to get rid of them."

"No."

He huffed. "It was only a thought."

"No, it wasn't."

"Maybe, but I have another thought for the moment." His eyes became heated as he stared at her. "Come here." He grabbed her head and pulled it down to kiss her.

He shifted their bodies so that she was on top of him. His hands roamed her body, setting off fireworks under her skin. His hands grabbed her breasts, and-

The sound of a baby crying caused them to stop.

Damian groaned. His hands left her body. "Your son is insufferable."

"My son?" She laughed, getting off of him and the bed. "He was our son when he was in my belly."

"He wasn't preventing me from making love to his mother then." He grabbed her by the wrist. "Go back to bed. I'll check on him as well as have a heart-to-heart talk with him."

"He's only five months old. He's not going to understand you."

"He's my son. His intelligence is unmeasurable for his age. He will understand."

Raven shook her head as she watched him leave the room, wondering how long his talk would take.

"Raven!" She clenched her head. "Raven!"

A portal opened, and the Raven, who she could communicate with, stood before her. "Raven, I need your help. Come with me."

She was pulled into the portal before she could respond.

Twenty minutes later, Damian kissed his wife, who slept peacefully on the bed. Unaware of the adventure that she had gone on.

A/N: Thank you for reading my story and sticking with me until the end. :) I hope that you all enjoyed it.

The flashbacks in this chapter were actually from the original outline for this story. However, I quickly got bored with it and thought it was too predictable although it was sweet. And while I liked and definitely enjoyed the outline that I posted, it was difficult to wrap this up without having to make this story into a second part. There is no second part... As of now. But thanks for reading.

To be honest, the reason why I enjoyed the second outline is because of you all's reactions and support for Raven's happiness, whether she was with Damian, Dick, or herself.

Thanks, this story will be the blueprint for my first novel. :)
