Chapter 1: Moving In
U.A. High School is the number ranked school for those aiming to be the top hero. The prestigious school, located in Musutafu near the city of Tokyo, was originally a school where students went to everyday. After the several attacks on Class 1-A two years back, the school has transitioned into a boarding school with several dorms housing students from the hero course, support course, business course and general education courses. These dorms were called the Heights Alliance with strict surveillance to protect the many students that go to the school. Each of the buildings are separated by class and year, only a short few minutes to the main building. The dorms with 4 floors of rooms and two wings, and a common floor for everyone.
This year, everyone was in the 3-A Height Alliance. The 3-A dorms were a lot bigger than the 1-A and 2-A dorms. It was the same layout but the rooms much bigger than when they were 15. There was also a small training area located behind the dorm for those who wanted to train their quirks since everyone has passed and received their provisional licenses and were able to practice their quirk in public now.
The students of class 3-A were slowly trickling from their short Spring break. (Remember school starts in spring at U.A.) Luckily, the belongings for everyone were brought over to the new dorms during break so no one had to worry about fetching over anything from their old dorm. All that everyone had to worry about was decorating and emptying boxes. Uraraka Ochako made her way into the new 3-A dorm room floating a few pieces of luggage behind her. Her short auburn hair that she had in the first year was now a little past her shoulders framing her face and her bangs now sweeping slightly over her brown eyes. Her cheeks still rosy as ever, and her face looking more mature. She has tuned 17 a few months ago in December, almost an adult now reaching the height of 5'5".
She had visited her parents and even helped them out a bit doing some construction work since she had her provisional license. Her parents were super happy that they had some extra help since they've been busier than usual with many jobs. Ever since her match with Bakugou at the sport festival during the first year and being apart of the mission to save Eri from the clutches of Overhaul, she had developed a following and many people were watching her. She made a name for herself after working along her class and some of the pro-heroes in taking down the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army as well.
She opened the double doors of the dorm and was immediately greeted by Yaoyorozu Momo. The tall girl was even taller, now at 6'0", she had her long black hair down, wearing a light green off the shoulder shirt and some khaki pants. Placing the boxes that she had in her hand onto the floor she hugged Ochako with open arms. Ochako hugged her back and let go. She slipped off her shoes and placed it on the rack next to the door and slipped on some bedroom slippers courtesy of Momo's creation quirk. Living with Momo was like living at home. She made everyone comfortable and was almost like the mother of the dorms.
"Ochako! Welcome! I'm glad to see that you made it here alright. Come on in." She tugged Ochako and pulled her into the kitchen. "Please help yourself to some tea. I brought plenty from home. This one is a new mint flavor." Ochako nodded and grabbed a cup of the tea. It looked like Momo had been there for a few hours. Their kitchen area had already been neatly organized and stocked up. She wouldn't put it passed her to make sure they had enough food, especially on the first day back. Ochako sipped on her tea tasting the minty fresh taste in the back of her throat.
"So, has anyone else arrived yet or am I the first one?" She was curious. She hadn't seen anyone else in the last few minutes of walking into the dorms. Momo leaned forward on the kitchen countertop, elbows on the surface and her head in her palm.
"Well classes don't officially start back for another 3 days. Mina, Kirishima, Kaminari and Kyoka are the only ones here so far. Everyone is in their room trying to get settled in. I expect everyone to slowly arrive by Sunday. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't stay longer with your parents." Momo poured herself a cup a tea and sipped it.
Ochako smiled at her. "I wanted to stay longer and help out, but my parents insisted that I get back to school and have some fun before school started. You know how they are… they would rather me be a teenager than work and help them out." Momo was one of the very few people that knew about Ochako's family situation. It didn't happen until sometime during second year where Momo had walked in on Ochako crying after a phone call with her parents. After comforting her, Ochako decided to tell Momo about her situation. Though Momo didn't know what it was like to have financial problems, she did her best to help Ochako out. Even going as far as to offering to loan her some money, which Ochako refused.
"They're right though. You'll have all the time in the world to help them out after we graduate this year. We'll all become pro-heroes and we'll be far too busy helping others to have time for ourselves and with each other. We need to make the most of our time this year."
Ochako nodded. Momo was right. This was their last year of school. Their last year of being teenagers before they would be sent out into the world of being adults and pro-heroes. Ochako's thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the front door being kicked down.
"OI, IS THIS OUR NEW DORM? YOU EXTRA'S IN HERE?" Ochako sweat dropped. She knew that loud explosive voice anywhere.
"Lord Explosion Murder himself has graced our presence"
"You're damn right. Bow down to your king"
Momo sighed and walked over to greet their obnoxious classmate with Ochako in tow. "Bakugou please. Keep it down."
Ochako peeked over to the side of Momo to see Bakugo's ash blond hair still spiky but much longer. His bangs now covering his eyes just slightly but his ruby red eyes still fierce as ever. He now towered over her. She guessed he was about 6'2" give or take a few inches. He wore a black hoodie and some jeans with rips in them. His signature orange "X" across the front of his hoodie and those two black dots on the "X" to indicate that it was the same support company that made their hero outfits. If she had to guess, Bakugou probably asked them to make a hoodie for him for the cold weather. His hands in the pocket of the front of his hoodie, just a backpack hanging off his shoulder behind him. Bakugou squinted his eyes and looked around Momo.
"Round face, that you?"
Ochako nervously laughed and placed her hands behind her back and scooted next to Momo. Her and Bakugou weren't really friends, well not officially. They talked here and there and to be honest, Bakugou knew quite a few things about her. He knew that she loved sweets, especially mochi and they often bonded over cooking. There was a time in second year were Bakugou and Kirishima made Ochako mochi cakes because someone had eaten all the mochi cakes that Momo had brought from her parents.
"Hey there Bakugou. How was staying with your parents?"
"Lame as fuck. Anyway… where's my room this year?" Bakugou kicked off his shoes and placed them in the corner.
"Oh yeah, Momo where's my room as well. I want to get everything settled before school starts." Ochako walked over to her luggage and touched them with the pads of her fingers. They started floating up. Momo brought over a clipboard.
"Aizawa-sensei gave me this. It looks like you'll be on the 4th floor this year on the east wing next to the elevators with Mina and Bakugou you're on the same floor but on the west wing. Kirishima is your neighbor Bakugou." Bakugou rolled his eyes.
"Of course, I'd be stuck with shitty hair again. 3rd year in a row." Ochako giggled.
"Hey, it could be worse. You could have Mineta." Momo shook her head.
"I'm on the 5th floor near the elevators if you need me. Aizawa-sensei won't be back until Monday. He's on a trip with Eri. So please be on your best behavior Bakugou."
"Yeah yeah. Whatever. Let's go round face." Bakugou started making his way towards the elevators on the other side of the floor. Ochako waved goodbye to Momo and followed Bakugou with her luggage floating behind. Bakugou pressed the up button on the elevator and waiting for it to come down to the first floor. Ochako stood there quiet not knowing what to say to the blond. Bakugou wasn't much of a talker unless provoked or picked on. The elevator doors dinged and the doors opened up. Bakugou walked in first and then Ochako followed. Of course he would go in first. Ladies first doesn't exist in Bakugou's head. The elevator doors closed and Ochako glanced over at Bakugou who was just looking at the numbers on top of the door slowly lite up with every floor that passed. Ochako couldn't take the silence anymore. She had to say something to him.
"So… did you do anything fun over break?"
"Nope. The hag just drove up insane. Tried to train as much as I could."
"Oh."
There was silence for a few more seconds. Ochako really didn't want to ask another question before he blew up and exploded the elevator because that's something he would do. His temper has gotten a lot better the last 2 years. Especially around Deku. They didn't have an intense relationship like they did when they first started out together. There would be occasional times where Ochako would see them training together with All Might watching over them.
"Hey round face. Did you not hear me? I asked how was staying with your rents."
"OH! Sorry. It was good! I worked a lot and even got to help them out. Anddd I made some money too. They've been really busy with contracts ever since our fight at the sports festival."
Bakugou smirked.
"Good, because you ALMOST kicked my ass back then." The elevator door opened on the 4th floor. "See ya."
Ochako stood there with her eyes widened. Did Bakugou just compliment her? Was that a compliment in Bakugou language? Bakugou rarely gave out compliments. The elevator doors started to shut and Ochako stuck her hand in the open space to keep it open. She shook the thoughts away and walked to her dorm room and opening the door. Her luggage still floating, she placed her pads in both hands together.
"Release."
The luggage neatly fell on the floor in front of her door. She looked around her room, her bed and desk already placed in a spot that she liked. Everything else was in boxes in front of the sliding door leading to the balcony with her name written on it. Ochako placed her hand on her hip keeping her pinky finger pointed outwards to prevent her from floating.
"Well, lets get started on the room makeover." Ochako walked over to the boxes and started unpacking things and placing them where they belong. After a 2 hours, she had finally finished unpacking everything and her room looked like a room. There was much more space than her previous room. Maybe she would use the money that she made over break to treat herself and buy some cute things for her room… then again maybe she should save it for a rainy day. She would thing about it later. There was a knock on her room door and she walked over to the door opening it.
"OCHAKOOOO"
She was tackled by another girl with pink hair and skin. She knew that cheerful voice anywhere.
"MINA!" Ochako hugged the girl back and started laughing. "I'm so glad to see you!"
Ashido Mina, one of Ochako's best girl friends while attending U.A. Mina was always loud, excited and smiling. She's the best girl friend anyone could ask for especially when it comes to hanging out. Mina was her sister and confided in her all the time. Having her on the same floor was going to be trouble.
"Oh my gosh. Guess what? Kiri is on the same floor as us!"
Oh right. Mina and Kirishima were a thing. Kirishima had saved Mina during the attack on the Meta Liberation Army and its been history since then. The two had been dating for the last almost 2 years. Mina had told Kirishima to man up and ask her out after the fight was over with, and Kirishima did just that. After they won, he asked her on a date and they've been inseparable.
"Bakugou too."
Mina's ears perked up. "Did you say Bakugou? Don't we have an all star floor." Mina walked over to Ochako's bed and sat down swinging her legs off the side. "So, Kirishima and I took a step in our relationship. We went all the way baby!"
Ochako's face turned red. She was not expecting THAT to come out of Mina's mouth.
"L-like… s-sex" Ochako stuttered. Poor innocent Ochako. She wasn't prepared to hear what Mina was about to tell her. She never had these types of conversations before. Not even with her parents. She knew what sex was and the basics about it, but to hear it from her friend? Her ears started heating up. She knew Mina wasn't scared to talk about it and was open to her about anything.
"Duh. Girl, let me tell you. It was great. 10 out of 10. Kiri's di-"
"NOPE. NO. MINA I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT." Ochako covered her ears and instantly started floating towards her ceiling.
"Ochako, sweetie. You're doing it again. The thing you do when you get flustered and start losing control of your quirk. Sheesh. I'll be quiet then."
"Release!" Ochako floated back down and sat on the chair by her desk. "I'm sorry Mina. I just… I'm really happy for you and Kirishima, I just don't want to hear THAT about my two friends." Ochako sighed. She was 17 and never had a boyfriend or even kissed anyone. Well there was that one time she kissed Kaminari because of a dare, but that was a quick peck on the lips.
"Are you still hung up about Midoriya?"
"What? No! We talked about this before break. He's just too busy with trying to be a pro-hero, especially since he's All Might's successor. He has a big role to fill. He doesn't have time to date anyone. He's the new symbol of peace in training. He took down Shigaraki and saved everyone. I'd be a burden."
"Don't say that! You're not a burden. There are other guys in our class and class B who are eligible bachelors. We're not 15 anymore. I'm sure someone has noticed how much you've grown and how sexier you've gotten." Mina walked over to Ochako and sat next to her and poked the side of her boobs. "You're definitely not a C cup anymore" Mina giggled and Ochako swatted her hand away.
"MINA!"
"All I'm saying is that we have lot's of guys just walking around here. There's Shoji, Sato, Sero, Iida… okay scratch Iida… Bakugou. He's single and hella cute too. Plus you guys are somewhat close. Remember when he and Kiri made you mochi cakes? Bakugou doesn't do anything for anyone, yet alone make mochi for a girl."
Ochako blushed and shook her head. Sure Bakugou was… cute in his own way, but she would never ever consider him to be a potential boyfriend. Besides… he was too busy trying to be the number 1 hero. He wouldn't have time to date anyone. It would be the same situation as Deku.
"I can see the gears in your head turning. You're thinking about ittttt"
Ochako stood up. "This is Bakugou we're talking about. He doesn't care about anyone or anything except being number one. Plus this is the last year and I really need to focus on passing all my exams and being the best pro-hero I can be. I don't have time for boys."
But boy was she wrong. Mistakes were about to be made.
