Notes: Flufftober Oct 14 - Slow Dancing

Dance the Night Away

Cisco had a plan. A ridiculous, probably terrible plan. But he was going to give it a try anything because, well... Harry wouldn't make fun of Cisco too badly if this went sideways.

Probably.

There is some prep work for the plan. Cisco has to set up a play list in advance on his phone and sneak in his bluetooth speaker - the one that has the pretty color projection field - and subtly hook that up in a place where it won't get noticed but has good coverage of the ceiling. The last piece of the puzzle is getting the lights in the room changed out for smart bulbs he could easily control with his phone. Keeping Harry from noticing that part of the plot had failed, but he'd liked the idea of being able to set light levels in the room and even changing the color of the lights, so it worked out in the end.

And if Harry could be seen playing with the light settings when he was bored, well, that was just a cute bonus for all Cisco's hard work as far as he was concerned.

But everything was set up now. Cisco had tested out his program settings the last time Harry was visiting Earth-2 and confirmed it was all ready to go. He just had to work up his courage to actually... enact the plan.

Planning was definitely the easy part in that respect. Even getting the rest of Team Flash to head out for the evening without Cisco is easy.

It's standing in the door, watching Harry tinker with some random piece of tech, that makes Cisco's mouth go dry and his well rehearsed speech leak out of his brain. Harry's pulled off the sweatshirt he was wearing earlier and the t-shirt underneath is a faded charcoal gray that probably started it's life as black, but time and both the washer and dryer have lightened the dye and also shrunk the fiber weave so that it rides up a bit too much on his stomach as he leans over the lab table and hugs Harry's shoulders and upper arms tightly so that every movement cause the fabric to shift and strain at the collar.

"Gonna keep standing there staring or have you got something to say, Ramon?" Harry asked, glancing over his shoulder and smirking at how visibly startled Cisco must look.

He had been staring, hadn't he? Though to be fair, who could blame him?

"I want you to come dancing with me," Cisco declared, grinning expectantly at Harry.

Harry leaned back in his chair and slowly swiveled around to face Cisco. "Pretty sure I made it clear last time I don't dance." Harry did that ridiculous little mockery of the robot Cisco had seen him do a few times before when he was making fun of the idea of Harry Wells at a dance club instead of a nice bar. "Go have fun with your friends, Ramon. I'll be here when you get back from the club."

"Who said anything about clubbing?"

Harry's eyebrow went up. "What else would you be talking about?"

Cisco took a shaky breath. He could still pass this off as a joke, but... he didn't want to. So he pressed the little 'start program' button on his phone before sliding it into his back pocket and walked forward and grabbed Harry's hands. Pulled Harry out of his chair as the lights dimmed and the music came on. Soft jazz, the kind that Cisco used to play when he was still in practice with the piano. The kind of music two people could sway to and call it dancing. Blue patterns shimmered on the lab's ceiling, like shifting light refracted through water.

Harry seemed stunned and a bit lost at first as Cisco tugged him close and placed Harry's hands on his own hips before shifting his hands slowly up Harry's arms to rest on his shoulders. He could feel the goosebumps that his touch set off along Harry's skin.

Almost of their own volition, Harry's feet started leading them both in a slow circle and, slowly, understanding dawned in Harry's eyes. "Cisco," he said, voice almost breathless, reverent. "You planned this."

"Yup. A little cheesy, I know. But cheesy is kind of my thing," Cisco admitted.

"It's sweet," Harry countered, firming his grip on Cisco's hips. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you're trying to seduce me," Harry added, giving Cisco an out.

And, no doubt, he'd try again. Cisco wasn't taking it. "I am trying to seduce you. How's it working?"

"All too well," Harry replied roughly, leaning their foreheads together as they swayed in slow circles to the music. "I know you've thought this through. To come up with this you'd have had to, but... I'm a grumpy old asshole who is overprotective and pushy and always thinks I know best. You give me an inch and I'll take a mile, Ramon. Are you sure you really want to do this with me?"

"Harry, this is me telling you I absolutely want you to take the mile. Or whatever, I'm probably messing up metaphors now." Cisco grinned and moved just that little bit closer to Harry, so that their chests were nearly pressed together. "Harry. I set all this up because I want you to kiss me. So kiss me already."

And, well, Harry was never one to disappoint. He leaned in and hesitated a moment such that Cisco could feel their mingled breath against his lips before, finally, Harry bridged the remaining distance between them. And Cisco wasn't sure if they were still dancing at that point or the room was spinning from the intensity of their kiss, but he didn't really care which the answer was. Not so long as Harry kept kissing him.
