Salem didn't want to be a superhero, hating the fact her father was one. She attended boarding schools simply because she was a Stark. With missiles targeting her school and a hidden agenda of HYDRA turning up, Salem had a sudden show of unknown powers forcing her father and the attentions of the Avengers onto her. Having a friendly neighbourhood spider did help the transition.

When I took the job at Bishop Security, I was convinced Kate Bishop would be my boss, nothing more. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd fall in love with her. Eventual Peter/Kate, with some Peter/MJ moments. T for now. Spoilers for No Way Home and Hawkeye.
