Chapter 1

A/N: I know I probably shouldn't start another story…but I feel like there aren't enough Katekyo Hitman Reborn Fanfics in the world. So I have decided to rectify this. On another note if anyone knows the author for the Hibari X OC fanfic that was titled the Deadline, I have been looking everywhere for it. I just want to know if it was purposefully taken down or if it was moved to another site. I have the Summary for it but I don't remember the authors name.

"REBORNNNNN!"

'Was that Tsuna?! Why the hell is he running around in his underwear!'

"Oh Talia!" I whip around at the familiar voice calling out to me.

"Ah Mrs. Nana! How are you today?" I ask politely wondering if she saw her son bolting past.

"I'm doing just fine, I was actually on my way to the market. Would you like to join me?" I look back towards the direction Tsuna ran off in.

"Sure…I was actually on my way to the market myself." I smile as we begin walking side by side.

"So how is Tsuna doing in school? Do you still need someone to tutor him?" I ask as she turns towards the first vendor in the shopping district.

"Well….. He only scored a 15 on his last math test. Although I did hire a new tutor for him. He actually started today." She smiled sheepishly at me.

"Ah so you don't need me to tutor him huh?" I stated rather than asked

"Oh are you not taking classes this semester? There's no harm in him having more than one tutor if your available." She asks

"I decided to take a gap year. Its been a rough couple of months and I decided I deserved a break." I mutter as I look to the sky. "I am more than willing to help out if you would like. I don't plan on doing anything to exciting this year." I look to Nanas' smiling face with a smile of my own.

"Well, why don't you come by today after he gets home from school and we will set a schedule for his lessons." She smiles

"I will be there. I'll even bring by some of my famous cookies that I baked last night." I grin at her. "I am gonna get my shopping done then I think I will take a trip to the recreation center then I will stop by, is that okay?" I ask

"Oh its fine, and bring your appetite I am going to make a big feast to celebrate!" I look at her smiling face fondly. 'She reminds me a lot of mom' I think to myself.

"Ok! I'll see you then." I run off waving behind me.

I look down at my list and think about the best way to start getting my supplies.

'I think I will start with the new practice tights.' I think as I turn towards the local Mizuno. I wander around the clearance racks for a few minutes before I make my way to the padding and sparing tights. I grab a few pairs of varying colors before I turn towards the sports bras section to get some in the matching colors for the tights.

"Ah Talia! Back already?" A disembodied voice asks.

"Hm, oh Mr. Takeda! Yea I needed some new tights for sparing so I stopped in to get some." I say as the balding old man who runs the shop walked into my line of sight.

"Oh? What kind of sparing are you doing? Is it a new martial arts your learning?" He asks as I grab two bras in a teal kind of blue.

"No it's the same as always, I am working on refining my Aikido skills, I am also trying to get back into Naginatajutsu. I think my dad would want me to keep up with it." I say as I turn to walk to the register with him following behind me.

"I am sure he would. I was so sorry to hear about the accident. Are you ok? I know it hasn't been that long. Shouldn't you take some more time for yourself." He looks at me as he begins to ring out my purchases.

"Hm, I think if I spend anymore time alone I might go insane. I am hoping that this will help me cope in some way." I say without making eye contact.

"Well if your sure. Why don't you come on by sometime, I'm sure the missus would love to have you over." He offers as I hand over my debit card to pay.

"I will try. I just agreed to help Mrs. Sawada by tutoring her son." I say as I take back my card and grab my bag.

"Well if you find time, don't be shy now!" He calls out as I walk out of the store.

"I won't! See you later!" I call back while waving at him.

I smile fondly as I make my way towards my next stop.

"Whew. Finally done." I say as I drop my bags in my genkan. 'shopping took a lot longer than I thought, now I don't have time to practice.' I think as I glance at the clock on the wall. 'Well I suppose I will just polish my Naginata then head over to Nana's.' I think as I slide off my shoes and walk into the sitting room.

I settle onto the floor and pull out a tin box that sat on the bottom shelf of our custom shelves. I sit up on my knees as I grab the long-clothed weapon off the stand it sits on. A longing smile settles on my face as I think of the last time I actually cleaned and polished it. Memories flow rapidly through my mind as I untie the purple protective fabric. I think of my fathers gleaming smile and my mothers soft laugh. Tears fill my eyes as I grab the bag of cotton balls and the long tweezers. I then grab the pot of Choji Oil and unscrew the lid. Lightly dipping one of the cotton balls into the oil I begin to dab it onto the blade. I slowly slip inside my own mind as my body continues the once familiar repetition. It isn't long before I finish and decide that I might as well clean my daggers as well.

I pull out a drawer and grab a black cloth. I set it down and unfold it, stored inside were 26 daggers. 2 were small tanto blades while the other 24 resembled flat custom kunai perfect for throwing. I cleaned them as well.

'man, if it weren't for dad I probably wouldn't have this kind of stuff. I guess I should appreciated his hobbies, they pushed us closer together.' I think as I finish he last kunai.

Once I was done I put the protective cloth over the Naginata blade and put it back onto the stand. Then I folded the black cloth and put it back into its drawer. I glance back at the clock and decide to make my way to the Sawada residence just down the street.

I ring the doorbell and wait for Nana to answer.

"Oh Talia! You're here! Perfect timing Tsu-kun just got home." She smiles as she steps aside to let me in.

"Barely? Its almost 6. I figured he would have been home sooner." I say

"Usually he would but he was out with his tutor after school today." She replies as we walk into the kitchen and sit at the table.

"Oh, I suppose I should probably meet him too huh?" I ask

"I thought the two of you could work out a schedule for Tsuna's lessons." She says as she gets up to call Tsuna down.

I slip into my thoughts as I wait for them to reenter.

"Ah! Talia, what are you doing here." Tsuna screeches at me.

"I am here to workout a schedule with your other tutor." I grimace as I look at him

"other?" He asks as a small infant wearing a suit and fedor walks in.

"Ciosu" The baby says as he hops onto the table.

"Uh…Whats with the baby?" I ask as said baby starts to drink a cup of coffee. I slowly look at Tsuna who is growing paler by the second.

"I am Reborn, dame-tsunas tutor." The baby says. A sweatdrop slips down the back of my head as I force a smile.

"Is that so? Nana also asked if I would tutor him. I guess we should work out a schedule." I mutter as a stare at the baby in disbelief.

"Hm, fine. You can come by once a week to check in on him. However, I will lead his tutoring." It almost feels like the baby is glaring at me.

"O…okay, um I guess that works." It was at that point that Nana came back with some plates full of food for everyone.

"Eat up!" She claps her hands together as she takes her seat.

"Thanks…" I mutter as I stare at my plate. Slowly I begin picking at my food. The entire time was a little awkward between the four of us. By the end of dinner I was ready to leave and never look back.

"Tsu-kun will you walk Talia out?" Nana asks as she starts doing the dishes.

"okay!" he calls back as he follows me to the door. We both slip on our shoes and walk towards the gate. At this point I can't keep quiet any longer.

"Hey Tsuna, is everything okay? Whats up with the baby?" I ask as I look at him

"Um, to tell you the truth. I don't even know." He responds.

"Well you know I am just down the street. If you need to get away for a bit." I offer as I pat his head.

"Thanks Talia." He smiles at me.

"Now onto more important things…" My smile turns cruel as Tsuna pales

"HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE TO SCORE 15 ON YOUR MATH TEST!?" I scream as I bash him over the head with my fist. "TSUNA YOU GIANT IDIOT! YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT I WILL WHIP YOU INTO SHAPE!" I hit him one more time for good measure.

"OWWWWW" He yelps as he holds his head and backs away from me. I glare at him

"I expect you to be at my house right after school tomorrow for some lessons! I only get one day a week with you so you better believe that I will use that time wisely. If I have to hunt you down Tsuna you are not gonna like what happens." I state as I start walking away.

"WHY ME!?" I hear Tsuna yell as I walk home.

'Well this should be fun' I smile as I enter my home to get ready for bed.

Little did I know that this would be the start of the rest of my life. Who would have though that in less than a year I would find myself tangled up in a rats nest of mafia families, conflicts and whirlwind romances far beyond my imagination. And all because I agreed to tutor my idiotic teenage neighbor.

A/N: So…. I plan to post once a week, I will post an episode that follows every 7 episodes or so until we get to a major arc like the Kokuyo are, and the ring battles. After that I want to start putting 7 episodes worth of content into one chapter. Don't forget to review and give this story a follow. I like hearing what you guys think and what ideas you have.
