One stormy night I was in my living room watching television.

I was watching the weather forecast.

"Tonight's weather is a bit of a storm so make sure you keep nice and safe indoors," said the weatherman.

"Of course." I said with a laugh.

Then I heard something out on my back porch.

It sounded like whimpering.

"Huh, what's that?" I asked.

I walked over to my kitchen and opened the back door.

"Hello, anyone there?" I called.

I heard the whimpering again but this time it sounded like it was on my back porch.

I looked by the table I had set up on my back porch.

I knelt down and saw a rust colored Rottweiler pup with brown eyes.

The pup gasped as it saw me.

"Hello there," I said in a small and quiet voice. "What are you doing out here, it's too stormy to be out here."

"I..I.. had to get out of the rain," said the pup.

The pup's voice sounded female and I also noticed it's eyelashes.

"Where are your owners, they must be worried about you." I said.

The pup sighed.

"Well, I don't have an owner anymore, they moved away." it said sadly.

I felt sorry for the pup.

"Oh, that's terrible you must feel so sad." I said.

"Yes, I am uh.." said the pup as she looked at me with a confused look on her face.

"Oh, I'm Adam." I said.

"Hi Adam, I'm Caitlin." said the pup.

"Nice to meet you Caitlin." I said as I rubbed her back. "Come on, let's get you inside and get you warm."

"Thank you Adam." said Caitlin in a less sad voice.

I picked up Caitlin and took her into my house.

When I brought Caitlin into the living room, I grabbed a towel and placed it on the couch so the rain wouldn't get my couch wet, then I placed Caitlin on the towel.

"There you go girl." I said.

"Thanks Adam." replied Caitlin.

"I'll get a pillow for you to rest on." I said.

I went to get a pillow for Caitlin to rest on.

After I got it I set it on the couch then Caitlin rested her head on it.

"Thank you Adam, it's nice and warm in here." said Caitlin.

"No problem Caitlin, I'm glad your warm and safe." I smiled.

Then we heard a growling sound.

"What's that?" I said as I looked around my living room.

"That's just my tummy Adam." reassured Caitlin. "I haven't had anything proper to eat for a few days."

"I'll get you a little something." I said.

I walked into the kitchen and came back with a plate of bacon I brought back from my parents that lived across the street.

"Here you go Caitlin." I said as I set down the plate of bacon on the couch. "Here's some bacon from my parents, they live across the street.

"Thanks Adam." said Caitlin as she munched on the bacon.

After she finished eating I put the plate back in the kitchen.

Caitlin cuddled up on the couch while I went back to watching television.

"So how did you get in my backyard Caitlin?" I asked as I rubbed her back.

"Well as I was walking along the sidewalk and it was stormy I saw a hole in the fence so I went through that." explained Caitlin.

"I'll have to tell my dad about that in the morning." I said.

A couple hours later I changed into my pajamas and took Caitlin into my room so she could sleep for the night.

The next morning the storm had passed.

Caitlin woke up on my bed and noticed I wasn't in my room.

"Where's Adam?" she asked.

Caitlin walked out of my room and went down the stairs.

Then she saw me in the kitchen sitting at the table.

"Adam." said Caitlin.

I turned and saw Caitlin.

"Morning Caitlin, how'd you sleep?" I said.

"Much better than when I was by myself." replied Caitlin smiling.

"Well that's good." I said.

I gave Caitlin more of the bacon I had from my parents.

Then I took Caitlin across the road to meet my parents and tell my dad about the fence.

I knocked on the door and my mom answered the door.

"Hi Adam." said my mom Angie.

"Hey Mom." I said.

Then Angie noticed Caitlin in my arms.

"Who's the pup?" she asked.

"This is Caitlin. I found her on my back porch last night." I explained. "Caitlin, this is my mom Angie."

"Hi." said Caitlin.

"Hi Caitlin," said Angie.

I walked into the house with Caitlin.

"So why are you here?" asked Angie.

"I need to tell dad about a hole in my fence." I said.

"Oh he's in the backyard, repairing the gate," said Angie.

"Thanks mom." I said. "Come on Caitlin."

I led Caitlin through my parents house and into the backyard.

Then we saw my dad Steve fixing the gate.

"Hey dad." I said.

"Hey Adam," said Steve. "Who's that?"

"This is Caitlin, I found her on my back porch last night." I explained. "Caitlin, this is my dad Steve."

"Hi." said Caitlin.

"Hi Caitlin," said Steve. "So what brings you here Adam?"

"Well Caitlin got in my backyard through a hole in my fence so I thought you could look at it." I explained.

"Alright I'll have a look at it." said Steve.

After he fixed the gate Steve,Caitlin and I went back to my house to look at the hole in my fence.

"So which hole did you go through?" asked Steve.

"It was right here." said Caitlin as she pointed her paw at a hole in the fence near my house.

Steve and I looked at the hole in the fence.

"That wood just needs to be replaced," said Steve.

So Steve and I replaced the wood in the fence.

Later I was planning to head to the Lookout to see Ryder and the pups.

As I put my gear on and my badge Caitlin noticed me in the garage.

"Adam, where are you going?" she asked as she tilted her head in confusion.

"I'm going to the Lookout to see Ryder and the pups." I explained.

"Where's that?" asked Caitlin.

"Well it's near here." I said. "Do you want to come with me?"

"Ok then." said Caitlin.

We went out to my tow truck in the garage right by my normal blue truck.

I put Caitlin in the passenger seat and then opened the garage door.

Then we set off to the Lookout.

Soon we crossed over the suspension bridge leading to the Lookout.

"Here it is Caitlin." I said.

"Wow, it's tall," said Caitlin.

I parked my tow truck and Marshall and Rubble ran outside to see me.

"Adam's here," said Rubble.

I disembarked from my tow truck and knelt down to greet them.

Marshall and Rubble ran up to me and I rubbed their backs to greet them.

"Hey guys, glad to see you." I said.

"Great to see you Adam." said Marshall.

Caitlin saw them.

"Adam, who are those pups?" she asked.

I stopped rubbing their backs and looked up at my tow truck.

"These are my favorite members of PAW Patrol Caitlin." I said.

"What's the PAW Patrol?" asked Caitlin.

"Here the pups can tell you." I said as I helped Caitlin down from my tow truck and set her in front of Marshall and Rubble.

"Pups, this is Caitlin. I found her on my back porch last night." I said.

"Caitlin, this is Marshall and Rubble." I said as I pointed to the pups while saying their names.

"Hi Marshall, Hi Rubble." said Caitlin.

"Hi Caitlin, nice to meet you." said Marshall.

But Rubble was lovestruck by her.

He thought Caitlin looked beautiful.

"Hi..Caitlin," he said in a dreamy voice.

"Are you ok Rubble?" asked Caitlin.

"Oh.. yes." replied Rubble.

Just then Ryder and the other pups came out of the Lookout.

"Hey Adam," said Ryder.

"Hey Ryder, pups." I said.

"Who's this?" asked Chase.

"This is Caitlin, I found her on my back porch last night." I said.

"Caitlin, this is Ryder, Chase, Rocky, Skye, and Zuma." I said, pointed to each of them as I said their name.

"Very nice to meet you Caitlin." said Ryder as he rubbed her back.

"Nice to meet you too Ryder." said Caitlin.

"Hi Caitlin." said Chase as he and Caitlin shook paws.

"Hi Chase." said Caitlin.

"Nice to meet you Caitlin," said Rocky.

"Nice to meet you too Rocky." said Caitlin as they shook paws.

"It's nice to meet another girl." said Skye as she and Caitlin shook paws.

"Thanks Skye." replied Caitlin.

"Hi dude." said Zuma.

"Hi Zuma." replied Caitlin.

Then she and Marshall shook paws.

But Rubble kept his dreamy look on her.

"Rubble, are you sure you're ok?" asked Caitlin.

"Now that you're here, of course." said Rubble as she and Caitlin shook paws.

"So when will you have a home?" asked Chase.

"Well I don't have one since my old owners moved away." replied Caitlin.

"Oh that's sad." said Skye.

"Yes it is." said Caitlin.

Then I had an idea.

"What if I adopted you Caitlin?" I asked.

"Really? You would Adam?" asked Caitlin.

"Of course I haven't had a pup in like 4 years." I replied.

"What do you mean?" asked Caitlin.

"Well actually I was Rubble's first owner." I said.

Caitlin was surprised.

"Really?" asked Caitlin as she looked at Rubble.

"Yeah he was.." said Rubble in his dreamy voice.

Then he and I told Caitlin the whole story.

Caitlin was amazed.

"Wow what an amazing story!" she explained.

"Yeah it is." said Rubble as he nodded in agreement.

Then Caitlin noticed the badge on my uniform.

"What's that badge Adam?" asked Caitlin.

Then she noticed the pup's pup tags.

"And what are all those?" asked Caitlin.

"We're the PAW Patrol," said Chase.

"The PAW Patrol, what's that?" asked Caitlin.

"We help people all over Adventure Bay." explained Ryder. "I'm the leader."

And I'm the newest member and also the only human member of the team." I added.

"Each pup has their own special job that they're really good at." said Rubble.

"Ooh, how do you join?" asked Caitlin.

"Well, you need a skill to join." said Marshall.

"Oh, I don't have a skill since Adam just adopted me," said Caitlin.

"Don't worry if you find a skill you can let me know," said Ryder.

"Thanks Ryder." said Caitlin.

"In fact I have something you can use for a pup tag so you can keep in contact with Adam, me or the pups." said Ryder as he took a purple pup tag with a paw print on it.

"Thanks Ryder." said Caitlin as she wagged her tail. "I guess i'm kind of like an honorary member of PAW Patrol, just until I can get a skill."

"Of course Caitlin, if you can find a skill you can let me know and we'll see if the skill will be useful." said Ryder.

So Caitlin had become my new pup and also had made some new friends and had even become an honorary member of PAW Patrol until she could find a skill.

Caitlin was now much happier in her new home with me and my parents.
