Chapter 2

Ron waited for James Possible on the couch in the living room of the Possible house, Ann Possible entered the living room with a tray with soda and snacks, she put the tray on the small table, poured Ron a glass.

"Ron, tell me what happened." She began.

"Drakken took over Bueno Nacho and it looks like he's going to use those Lil Diablo's to take over the world." Ron said.

"Are you sure?" Ann asked him.

"Of course." Ron replied. "Now I get it, the attempted kidnapping of Nakasumi San, the kidnapping of Mr. P, Drakken the new CEO of Bueno Nacho. It's all connected."

"That's an excellent theory, but we have to wait for James to see what those toys have."

James Possible entered the room with the Lil Diablo that Ron brought.

"Well?" Ron asked.

"You were right Ronald, these Lil Diablo ́ s seem to be alive, and I have figured out why." James said.

"And what is it?" Ann asked.

"My Hephaestus project."

"So that's what Drakken stole the night he kidnapped you." Ron said. "But what does this Hephaestus project do?"

"The Hephaestus project allows these toys to self-repair and grow to great size." Mr. Dr. P explained, this generated a look of distress for both Ann and Ron. "But for that the toys must be activated by a command signal." he clarified.

"What about the Diablo toys?" Tim asked as he and his twin Jim entered the room with their Lil Diablo's in hand.

"Drew stole my invention to create those little Diablo's." James informed his sons.

"You heard, we're playing with stolen technology." Jim said waving his toy.

"I have to stop Drakken before he activates the signal and makes the Diablo's come to life, and I know where he is." Ron said. "Bueno Nacho's headquarters."

"But that's several miles from here, getting there will take you hours." Ann said.

"Not if we add our rockets to the scooter." Jim and Tim said together.

"Ok, you guys take care of my scooter, I'll go to my house for a few things." Ron said before walking away.

"Wait Ronald, you're leaving without Kimmie-Cub?" James asked.

"She needs a night to be a normal girl, Mr. P." Ron said.

"Does she even know about this?" James asked again.

"Yes, she does." Ron said averting his gaze.

Ann noticed something was wrong. "Is something wrong Ron?" She asked.

"No Mrs. P, nothing is wrong." Ron replied without looking at her.

"Ron, tell me what's wrong?" Ann said.

"Really Mrs. Possible, I'm fine." Ron said trying not to cry and not to raise his voice.

Ron immediately left the Possible house, the people in the house wondered what was wrong with Ron, they just hoped to find out as soon as possible.

Ron arrived home and dressed in his mission clothes. He came downstairs and found his parents, in the living room.

"Ronald, what's going on?" his father asked.

"It's Drakken again, out to try and take over the world."

"Do you really have to go?" His father asked again. "Can't someone else go?"

"No Dad, I have to go."

Ron's parents were confused at Ron's words, he had said 'I have to go' instead of 'we have to go'. Wouldn't Kim go with Ron or did she know about this?

Mrs. Stoppable noticed something on Ron's face, it looked a little irritated, when she looked closely she saw it was the mark of an open hand.

"What happened to your face Ron?" She asked.

Ron started to hide his face. "Nothing mom."

"What do you mean nothing?" His mother asked. "You look like someone hit you, who was it?"

"No one mom, nothing happened." Ron insisted.

"Ron please tell me what's going on and what do you mean you're going to go stop this Drakken guy, isn't Kimberly going?"

"KIM ISN'T GOING!" Ron yelled. "She's not going."

Ron's parents were shocked at how he had reacted to the mention of Kim.

"What happened Ron?"

Ron sighed, he ended up telling his parents what happened at prom, his parents were shocked at how Kim had treated their son, humiliating him in front of all his classmates.

"Ron...I'm really sorry." His mother hugged him tightly, seconds later his father joined in the hug. "You're in no state of mind to face this Drakken guy, ask that Global Justice agency to take care of it."

"No mom, I have to do it myself, I'm the only one who knows what's going on."

"But it's still too dangerous for you to infiltrate that Drakken's lair by yourself." His father said.

"Dad don't worry, I'll be fine."

"Ron..." His mother tried to speak but Ron interrupted her.

"Mom, I'll be fine, I promise."

Both parents stared at their son, they knew there was no way to change his mind.

"It's okay, Ron. Go then." His father told him.

Ron hugged his parents once more. "I promise I'll be back."

"Just be careful."

Ron nodded before heading straight to Kim's house.

Ron's parents stood watching their son as he left, they knew they hadn't been the best parents to Ron, but they both made a promise to each other that after tonight, they would start making things right.

The Possible family was outside their house with Ron's scooter modified with Jim and Tim's rockets. Ron ran up to the house and met the family.

"Is it ready?" Ron asked about their scooter.

"It's ready. You'll get to Bueno Nacho's headquarters in record time." Tim reported.

"I still don't think going alone is a good idea." James Possible said.

"There's no more time, I have to go now."

"Ron, please be careful." Ann told him.

"Don't worry Mrs. Mrs. P; I'll be back." Ron said before getting on his scooter and setting off on his journey.

After he left, the Possible family was left wondering what had just happened.

"Does anyone else think Ron is hiding something from us?" Ann broke the silence.

"Indeed, but we don't know what he could be hiding from us." James replied to his wife.

"I don't know, but I think whatever I know he's keeping from us, Kimmie must be involved."

Deep in the hills of Japan, inside the Yamanuchi school, Master Sensei was meditating when I felt an aura inside Stoppable-San, this time it was different, there was pain, suffering and loss; I knew Ron's final test was imminent, but unfortunately he was at his worst.

"Master Sensei, is something wrong?" Yori bowed as she entered her master's chambers.

"Yes Yori, Stoppable-San's final test has begun, unfortunately he is not at his best."

"What do you mean?"

"He is not in the right frame of mind for this moment, Kim Possible failed Stoppable-San."

"Are you saying she hurt Ron-kun?" Yori said with anger in her voice.

"Exactly, Yori. It's possible that it clouds Stoppable-San's judgment."

"Then there's nothing more to talk about. I will go help Stoppable-San." Yori said.

"No." Sensei said. "You can't do it, no one can do it, that's something Stoppable-San must do on his own."

"But what if..." Yori couldn't finish her question when her teacher interrupted her.

"I have faith that Stoppable-San will be victorious and make the decisions, but that is something he must do alone."

Yori had her doubts, but she had to have faith that Ron would come out with the victory, maybe later she could go see him. "Hai Sensei." She sighed.

The Prom had quite a different feel to how it had started, needless to say why.

Many people had their opinions about what Kim had just done, others just didn't care.

Tara and Felix were in a corner talking until Monique appeared.

"So how did it go?" the blonde asked the brunette.

"Not good, she thinks I made the right decision." Monique replied.

"Well, you tried." Felix added.

"You may have held back, but I didn't." Tara said.

"What are you going to do?" Monique asked.

"I think you know."

Tara made her way through all the people dancing until she reached Kim and Eric, she grabbed the redhead by the arm and pulled her away from her date.

"Tara what's wrong with you?" Kim protested.

"I'm asking you the same thing too, Kim." Replied the blonde.

"Look, I don't know what you're up to but..." Kim couldn't continue because Tara interrupted her.

"I think you well know what the Sitch is, how can you be loyal to your boyfriend and not your best friend?" Tara said to her. "Ron came to you and you humiliate him in front of everyone just so you can beat Bonnie."

Unbeknownst to the two cheerleaders, people around them started pulling out their cell phones and began recording the confrontation.

"Tara, he was embarrassing me in front of everyone, I had to stop him." Kim tried to justify herself.

"And that justifies you treating him like dirt."

"Tara I..."

"He asked you for help and you spit in his face." Without a second thought, Tara slapped Kim.

The event caught the attention of the other students. Kim held her hand to the cheek that had been slapped.

"You don't feel good, do you?" Tara asked. "Well that's how Ron felt, you abandoned him under the justification that you wanted your night like a normal girl, instead he gave up everything to help you, why weren't you able to do that for him just once?"

Kim was paralyzed, she didn't know how to respond to Tara.

"I see you're not so different from Bonnie after all, you only care about image and the food chain. Ron spit blood for you, he put you before anything even of himself, and you abandon him for a pretty face. What a disappointment Kim, what a disappointment." Tara said before walking away.

The rest of the people watching the discussion slowly went back to their business. Kim just stood there.

Tears started to roll down Kim's eyes, a hand stopped on her shoulder, Kim turned her face and saw Eric who was giving her a weak smile.

"Is everything okay?" he asked her.

"No, nothing is fine." Kim shook her head and ran to the bathroom, she locked herself in there for several minutes.

"What have I done?" She thought. She was sorry for how she had treated Ron, even if he was making it all up, it was no reason to treat him the way she had. Tears were streaming down Kim's face, she just wished she could have the chance to apologize to Ron, and to get her friend back.

A/N:Sorry for the delay and that this chapter was a little short, I hope you enjoyed it.

I wanted to try something different for this type of story, instead of Ron telling his family instead of Kim's family is something I wanted to experiment with, mainly because I'm sick of the typical disgusting treatment some writers give to Ron's parents, while I am aware that they are not the best parents I feel that they can be made to improve, because if people create a kind of redemption for Bonnie I find no reason not to do it with them too, but it seems that Ron's parents along with Josh Mankey are the most hated characters in fanfics (or at least from my point of view).

The Tara thing is also something I wanted to try, since it's usually Monique who confronts Kim, this doesn't mean I'll be shipping Ron/Tara, at least not for now.

I honestly don't know how long it will take me to write the next chapter, but anyway I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2022 and for my Latin and Spanish speaking readers, a Happy Three Kings Day (Dia de Reyes - January 6th).
