Scorpio's Back
The door opened and the man saw two men pointing guns at him, he tried to close the door but Frisco blocked it then he and Sean stepped inside. "Hans Sohlmann, we want to have a word with you," Sean said as the door closed.
"What is this about? Who are you people?" Hans demanded.
"Oh, you are in no position to ask questions," Frisco told him.
Sean was looking around the room, "Where's your partner?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Mattias Sohlmann, your business partner. We got the impression he was in charge of this sick little outfit," Sean said.
Hans stared at the two men, who were they and why were they asking about them? "I'm here for a vacation, I swear I don't know what either of you are talking about."
"Really? You better start remembering pretty quick."
"I've heard you like hurting people," Sean said with an angry look on his face.
"That you get a sick joy out of torturing them," Frisco added.
"What are you talking about? I don't know anything about torturing people."
"Jack!" Frisco stated.
"Yeah, tell us about Jack."
"Who's Jack?" Hans asked.
"You remember Jack, he was your guest for what, twelve years?" Sean looked over at Frisco.
"Yup, twelve long years," Frisco agreed. "You weren't very nice to Jack, were you?"
Hans was starting to realize these men know way more than he thought anyone ever would. There was a look of panic in his eyes now. "Look, I don't know anyone by that name."
"Well no, you wouldn't," Sean said as Frisco opened the door.
Robert walked in followed by Anna and Hans froze. "Because I'm not Jack!" He grabbed Hans by the collar, "I'm Robert Xavier Scorpio! You tried to break me! I let you think you had. I have my life back in a couple short months. I have what you tried so hard to take away!" Then Robert shoved him backwards hard, Hans fell to the floor.
"No! You can't be here." This couldn't be happening, could it? How is he here?
"But I am."
Still laying on the floor Hans looked up at the four people now in his room. Who were these people with him? One walked over to him and pulled him up to his feet. "You should do yourself a favour and start talking."
"I'm not saying anything," Hans insisted.
"That's your choice but you are leaving here with us and you will tell us what we want to know," Frisco said as he held his upper arm.
As much as Robert wanted to hurt this man, as much as he knew the other did as well he knew they had to do this mostly by the books. Robert did walk right up to Hans and got in his face. "You tried to take it all away, she wouldn't let you." Then he grinned, "Consider yourself lucky. We could have let Anna in here first. You'd still be leaving in our custody but you'd also be leaving on a stretcher." At hearing that Hans looked at the only woman there. She looked furious. This must be his Anna. The wife he'd wanted to know was safe.
Anna glared at the man in front of her, blocking everything else out. Her rage focused on him. She wanted to hurt Hans, to kick him in the face, maybe break his nose. She wanted to make him feel the same kind of pain they had put Robert through. She wanted him to be covered in injuries that no one treated properly.
"Custody? Am I being arrested? On what charges?"
"Are you serious?" Anna said, finally stepping forward. "I know what you did to him. I've seen the results of your handy work!" Frisco let go of his arm, then holding both hands up stepped away from Hans. "Do you think Robert can't identify you? How do you think we found you so quickly?"
"Who are you people?" Hans asked as he stepped back not sure what was going to happen now. The men that had come in first were standing by the door while the woman looked like she wanted to harm him.
"I'm his wife! The one you would beat him for mentioning. The one you would burn him for asking about."
"Wooo." Hans had never had to face some he'd tortured before. Scorpio had been the longest but not the first.
"Don't try to deny it," Robert said, folding his arms. They had not spoken about what had been done to him but he knew Anna had seen all his scars, that she was right about what caused them.
"I was doing my job." Hans didn't see the spin kick coming and he sure hadn't expected it to be her that was standing over him. There was blood coming from his mouth where she had kicked him. She looked like she was ready to do it again and none of the men had moved to prevent it.
"Your job was to torture my husband? You were to continue hurting him until he finally forgot his life or you hurt him badly enough that his mind was gone."
"We couldn't just cause him brain damage," Hans admitted without realizing what he was saying.
"So you were to torture him slowly over time. You were to beat him until he finally stopped asking about his family."
"Yes."
The flying kick that followed broke Hans' nose, that was when Robert stopped her. "That's enough for now," he said with his arm around her holding her back.
Sean walked over and pulled Hans to his feet, as Frisco went to get him a towel for his nose. "I guess we should have warned you, don't mess with Devane," Sean told him with a grin.
Frisco handed him the towel, "So where are we holding him?"
"Paris," Sean answered quickly. "I know them there. He will be in good hands and if I ask them they won't tell anyone that we're holding him there." Sean knew they still didn't know for sure that the WSB or someone in the WSB was not somehow involved. He trusts his contacts in Paris though.
Hans stood there with the towel to his face as Frisco started putting his things in the suitcase he had found. Sean started looking behind pictures, under the mattress, in the drawers. They wanted to make sure there was nothing left behind. Anna had turned in Robert's arms, he stroked her cheek then kissed her tenderly, "That was amazing, thank you."
Anna smiled up at him, "I wanted to do a lot more than that." Then she turned and started helping Sean and Frisco collect everything in the room.
Robert stood there staring at Hans. He thought he would enjoy seeing him bleeding more than this. He wanted this man to pay for what he had done to him but he wanted the others involved as well. Hans had been one of the men that had tortured him but someone had hired them for that job. That was the person Robert wanted to find. "You are going to be the guest of the WSB for the foreseeable future. After that, I'm sure you will have a nice little cell somewhere. It'll be about the same size as that hole you kept me in for twelve years. Sadly, your cell will be nicer than mine and comes with regular meals. That's better than you deserve." His anger growing as he spoke.
Hans lowered the towel, "It was just a job."
"Like hell, it was! You sick twisted fuck!" Robert lunged at him and started hitting him in the face and stomach.
When Hans fell to the floor Sean and Frisco grabbed Robert and pulled him away. Anna stepped in front of Robert, putting herself between him and Hans. He was breathing heavily glaring at Hans over Anna's shoulder. "Hey, look at me. He will pay for what he did to you." She put her hand on his cheek, "Babe, come on, look at me."
Sean walked over to Hans and wiped away the new blood on his face then smiled, "I suggest you keep your mouth shut." Hans looked at him and nodded. Sean then put one cuff on Hans' wrist, the other on his own. Then he pulled Hans to his feet, "I'm the one that's least likely to hit you so we're doing it this way." Sean looked around the room once more. "Frisco, do we have everything?"
"Yeah, I think we got it all." Then he picked up the two suitcases they had filled up and walked towards the door.
Robert was still glaring at Hans as Sean dragged him toward the door as well. "Let's get out of here, shall we?"
Robert put his hand on Anna's back as the others left the room. "Let's go see our kid," then they started walking. He didn't know what Hans was going to tell them if anything. Now that they had him he didn't want to be anywhere near him. Sean and Frisco can handle the interrogation all he wants now, is what they'd wanted to take away from him. Time with the family he loves.
"She'll like that," Anna said as they followed the other, she glanced over at Sean as they got on the elevator then smiled at Robert. "We are claiming the private room as ours once we're on the plane." She knew Robert wouldn't want to be anywhere near Hans on the flight no matter how short it was so this was she would be able to distract him if needed.
…
Once they were on the plane Sean removed the cuff from his own wrist then cuffed Hans to the seat. He watched as Anna led Robert into the other room without even a pause, then looked over at Frisco. "I'll have to make a few calls but there will be agents waiting for us when we arrive. I'm going to go talk to the pilot first, find out when we can take off."
Frisco sat down across from Hans once they were alone, "I hope you enjoyed your vacation, you aren't going to be a free man for a very long time, if ever." Hans spit out some blood as he glared at Frisco but didn't say anything. "That's alright, we'll have lots of time to talk." Then Frisco sat back and got comfortable. Besides, he had no real interest in talking to this man until he actually had to.
...
Robert closed the door behind them and finally spoke. "I wanted to beat him to a pulp! I want him to suffer like I did. That piece of shit deserves a lot more than what he got, Anna." He had been holding that in since they had left the hotel.
"Yes, he does." Anna took his hands then started leading him over to the bed. She sat on the end still holding his hand and looked up at him, a softness in her eyes. Seeing that, he sighed as his shoulders slumped forward, then he joined her. Robert leaned forward, putting his head in his hands. Anna put her hand on his back, "Do you want to talk?"
After a moment he did speak, "I thought I would feel different. I thought having one of them in custody would mean I would feel like I was closer to finding out who did this to me. He's not going to tell us anything." Robert really didn't know how he felt about any of this. Seeing Hans has brought up so much again, things that had been done to him. Then to know that they have one of them but that he might not tell them anything. Robert let out a sigh, "Distract me, please."
"That I can do." Then she turned and pushed him back on the bed and laid back beside him, leaving her hand on his chest. "We are going to get to see Robin this evening." She leaned in and kissed his cheek. "You are going to be sleeping in my bedroom tonight."
"Am I?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes, since at the moment I am technically living in Paris with Robin."
"Oh, that's right. I will be at my girls' home this evening." That made him grin. "While we're there we can start packing up your stuff."
"Where are we moving to?" Anna asked as her hand stroked his chest.
"I want to go home. It felt right being in Port Charles, I liked it. I think that's where we should be. That's if it's alright with you?"
"I'd like that too. You're right, it did feel right being in Port Charles, seeing our friends, being in a place I know."
Robert turned to look at her, "Anna, I just need to be where you are. It can be anywhere."
"Then Port Charles it is. I didn't want to go back before because it would have been too painful. Everywhere I went would have reminded me of you. Now I have you back and it's time to start making more memories in the place we both think of as home."
"That sounds so wonderful." He turned so he was more on his side, "Do we know when we're taking off?" he asked as his hand slipped under her top.
"No we don't," Anna said with a smile. "I plan on having my way with you later, don't you worry."
"I want to hold you. I need to know I have you back. That this isn't some wonderful dream I'm having back in that hole."
Anna leaned in and kissed him tenderly. "You are laying on a bed, in my brother-in-law's private jet and in just a few hours you are going to be with Robin as well. It's better than a dream, this is really happening." Then she kissed him again as their arms went around each other.
...
It was close to the end of her shift, Robin was at work. She was trying to keep herself busy so she wouldn't keep thinking about what her parents were doing, how the investigation was going. She knew they were following a lead but so far she hadn't heard from them. It was funny she thought, her father's only been back in their life's a few months and already her parents were off chancing down the bad guys.
She was looking over a patent's file talking to Maria, one of the nurses on duty, passing time. Robin liked her and since Maria spoke English fluently they had become friends quickly and knew a lot about each other's personal lives. "So no news yet, I take it?"
Robin looked up from the file and grinned. "No, but when they're busy working, calling in updates isn't always at the top of their lists."
Maria nodded, over the last month she had heard many stories about Robert Scorpio and some about Anna Devane she hadn't heard before. "I still can't believe it about your father. That he's alive as well."
"Yeah, it is kind of unbelievable but amazing too," Robin said with a smile then looked back at the file.
A few minutes later Maria interrupted her again. "Since when does your mother travel with an entourage of attractive older men?" Maria asked with a grin.
Robin looked up at her, to see that Maria was now looking past her. "Three men?" she asked already knowing who had to be walking towards them.
"Yeah," she said with a nod, still not looking directly at Robin. "Three very fine men."
Robin smiled, "That would be my dad and my godfathers, the team is all together for this one." She turned and smiled brightly seeing that she was right, "Hi Daddy." Robert hugged her as soon as he got to her, "I missed you."
"I missed you too, sweetheart." They just held each other not wanting to let go.
"Do we count for anything, maybe a hello?" Frisco said faining hurt feelings.
"I have a lot of hugs to catch up on," Robert said as he finally let her go. Then Robin hugged everyone else but went right back over to Robert and they both put an arm around the other. "Are we interrupting anything?" he asked.
"I'm almost done for the evening. What are you all doing here?"
"We have to wait until morning to talk to the suspect we brought in. He needed some medical attention and some rest. Frisco and I are going back in the morning to talk to him," Sean told her.
"What happened to him? Why aren't Mom and Dad going to be there?"
"Well, your mom broke his nose and your dad left him with several cuts and bruises, I think stitches may even be required. Frisco and I will be questioning him so he survives the interrogation."
Robin's mouth dropped open a little as she realized who they must have found. "Was it one of the men that did it?" Robin asked looking up at Robert and he nodded. "Good, I would have hit him too." Then she hugged her father, needing to know he was really there. "If you want to hang out for about half an hour we can all head back to my place together then."
"We could all use a meal too," Anna suggested.
"I'd like that," Robert said. "Go do your thing Dr. Scorpio, we'll be waiting."
Robin turned and gave him another big hug then she walked away with Maria, who asked with a laugh, "I guess there's no point in asking if you wanted to go for a drink after work?"
Robin looked over at her and smiled, "No there isn't, I am hanging out with them while they're here. It makes me so happy when I see them." Maria smiled back as they walked away, she was very excited for her friend and liked seeing her this happy.
