The grassy riverbank looked picturesque and Annabeth hated it. Her parents had sent taken her book away and sent her out of the house because they told her that she was spending to much time alone and never went out with friends. So there she was at Lilly Jean's picnic, bored out of her mind simply because her family wanted her to be a well-bred English sixteen-year-old lady.

A girl with pale skin and lovely black hair walked up to her and smiled. "Annabeth, so delightful to see you again," Emma said.

"Yes," Annabeth agreed, faking a smile. "It's nice to see you too, Emma."

She smiled at Annabeth and made her way towards the throng of girls all sitting on the large picnic quilt sewing, laughing, chatting, and squealing over Lilly Jean's boyfriend, Ernest.

Annabeth didn't join them and instead sat against a tree, away from the other guests in their frilly dresses. She wished she could wear pants like a boy but her parents wouldn't allow it. So instead she was dressed in this stupid blue party dress with oiled black shoes and white tights and a black ribbon around her gold hair.

As she leaned against the tree, something white caught her eye. A rabbit holding something gold and shiny. Annabeth crept a little closer, to see he was holding a pocket watch.

A pocket watch?

Intrigued, and wondering whose pocket watch it was, Annabeth stood up and started followed the rabbit. It started running faster and faster, hearing her footsteps but she was fast too. You don't grow up with two brothers and not learn how to run. She kept chasing this white rabbit, not caring that the girls from the picnic were staring at her. She just kept running.

But then the rabbit stopped and disappeared. And before she could stop, gravity took hold of her. And then suddenly she was falling.

It's a strange sensation, falling straight down through a hole. It's terrifying and exhilarating and seems to take forever. Annabeth started to scream until her voice was hoarse. Surely the other girls would hear it and come find her.

Annabeth tried to recollect her geography lessons as she fell and figured that she might end up in New Zealand or Australia if the hole went straight down forever. But it didn't go straight down forever. It must not because it was not becoming insufferably hot. Nothing like she would imaging the center of the earth to be.

The rabbit looked up and Annabeth could almost hear him curse. But rabbits don't speak. Then again, rabbit holes don't go on forever. Suddenly, she felt the hole level, and instead of just falling, she was sliding.

"AH!" she screamed.

And then the hole flooded with sunlight and Annabeth landed on her butt on the grass. The rabbit was nowhere in sight. Then again, she couldn't really see anything, blinded by the sunlight of it. It was so warm and bright.

"She just followed me," a male voice said.

"She's not a Wonder. She's a human," another boy's voice said. "How'd she slip into this world?"

"Maybe she was meant to come here," a girl's voice said. "Maybe Wonderland wanted her to come."

"Regardless, I think she's unconscious," another girl's voice said.

And then everything faded away.

Percy liked to think he was calm under pressure. But now they had a passed-out human in Wonderland where she definitely didn't belong and no clue as to how or why she got here.

"Percy, your house is closest. Let's take her there," Piper said.

"Piper's right," Hazel agreed. "We can't just leave her."

Frank ran his fingers through his hair and looked at the pocket watch. "This had better be the magical item we were looking for."

As some of the youngest spies in the White Queen's army, they were often entrusted with the sneakiest missions. Retrieving the watch was one of those missions.

"The White Queen Athena said it was," Percy snapped. "And I trust her and the chess army with my life. I'll carry the girl to my house. Piper, you tell the white queen about her. Frank, you go with her and take the pocket watch. Hazel with stay with me and the girl."

With that, Percy scooped the girl up in his arms and started walking on a beautiful path through the woods to his house. Along the way, all sorts of fascinating and wonderous things tried to distract him. But Percy managed to ignore them all.

But there were three thoughts that kept plaguing his mind: 1, this girl looked kind of like the white queen. 2, this girl was extremely beautiful. 3, she was wearing a blue dress that was the same shade of blue as his top hat.

"She's from a place in the human world called London," Hazel said. Her wooden staff glowed with a golden light as she held it over the girl. "Annabeth Chase is her name. Sixteen years old, same as you Percy. Daughter of Frederick Chase and…huh."

Hazel stared at her staff and then at Annabeth. And then he heard her cast a spell. "What is it?" Percy asked Hazel.

"It's telling me what her mother's name is. I can see it," Hazel said with a frown. "But something is keeping my brain from processing the information or saying it. This is powerful magic, Percy. Now, I don't like bragging, but there are few people who can keep knowledge from me with magic. I've tried uncovering it and it's just rejecting the spell. Someone very powerful doesn't want us to know."

"But why? What's so important about her mother? She's just a human. Why does it matter?" Percy asked her, finding himself confused and worried.

"As I said before, it's powerful magic. But maybe we should keep an eye on Annabeth here. It's clear she's got some secrets," Hazel said.

They reached the cottage and Percy felt himself beaming with pride. Percy's cottage was his pride and joy. It was dark wood with blue accents. The first floor was wide with many windows. Attached to one side was a tower and a water mill on the other. The second floor had gorgeous blue sloped roofs. Every window had a flower box filled with blue flowers.

In the back, there was a porch that was connected to the dock. Percy loved the water and jumped in the lake the moment his father gave him the keys to the house, two months ago.

Hazel opened the door for him, and he carried Annabeth inside. He walked into the guest room and sat Annabeth down on the bed.

The two of them stared at her for a moment. "I'm going to start researching ways to get her home to her own world," Hazel said.

"If you can't come up with a way, then no one can," Percy said. Hazel was one of the most powerful sorceresses in Wonderland. Taught by Captain Hecate and the White Queen Athena, she had some of the best teachers to ever live.

"I might get help from Private Iris," Hazel mused. "She's the best at communications and traveling magic. After all, she did invent our main messaging system."

Percy was about to respond when he heard a female voice say, "Where am I, who are you, and why am I here?"

Whoo! First chapter is up! I've been toying with this idea for months and finally posted. I just want to give a shoutout to Multi fandom geekerello who is the best beta reader EVER and puts up with all of my craziness.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day.
