One day I was spending the day with Jake and Everest up in the mountains.
Everest's left paw was healed and her stomach felt much better.
She and I were relaxing on the couch.
"You know Everest, I heard that Ryder and the pups went somewhere to help with something." I said.
"Yeah, I heard it too." replied Everest. "Wonder where they're going?"
"I don't know, cause I heard you and Marshall had a day planned." I said.
Then Jake came over to us holding a newspaper.
"Hey you two, look at this." he said.
Jake sat down beside Everest and we looked at the headline on the newspaper Jake had.
It said, "Mayor Humdinger elected Mayor of Adventure City!"
"Oh no!" gasped Everest.
"Ryder told me Humdinger is the worst mayor in the history of mayor's." I said.
"Yeah, we all know that." replied Jake.
"Maybe that's where they went." suggested Everest.
"Let's see." said Jake as he scanned the front of the newspaper looking for any other information.
Then he noticed something.
"Hey, look at this," said Jake.
Everest and I looked at what Jake was looking at in the newspaper.
On the headline it read, "Paw Patrol in Adventure City!"
"Adventure City?" asked Everest.
"That's what it says," said Jake.
"Aww, why didn't Ryder ask me if I wanted to come?" whined Everest.
I gently stroked Everest's fur to calm her down.
"Don't cry Everest." I said.
Everest was sad she wasn't asked if she wanted to come on the trip to Adventure City.
"What else does it say Jake?" I asked.
"It says here that Mayor Humdinger is making plans for Adventure City." Jake replied.
"So the PAW Patrol must be going there to stop him." suggested Everest.
"You might be right, Everest." I said.
"We need to get there and help them," said Everest.
"Well we don't know where Adventure City is." I objected.
"Actually I might have a way of how we can find it." said Jake.
He walked over to the computer and looked up a way to Adventure City.
"Adam, Everest, have a look at this." said Jake as the computer showed a map to Adventure City.
Everest and I walked up to the computer.
I sat down in a chair and Everest hopped into my lap.
Jake showed us a map from Adventure Bay to Adventure City.
"Woah! Is that it?" exclaimed Everest.
"Yeah it is." replied Jake.
He then printed out the map and showed it to me and Everest.
"Wow! That must be it." exclaimed Everest as she pounced up.
"Woah! Everest." I said.
Everest started to lose her balance.
"Woah!" she cried.
Then I caught Everest before she could fall out of my lap, fall on the floor and hurt herself.
"Gotcha Everest." I said, helping her back onto my lap.
"Phew!" exhaled Everest. "Thanks Adam."
"Now don't get too overexcited." said Jake.
"Sorry Jake," said Everest.
"And sorry Adam." she said looking back at me.
"Don't worry Everest." I said, patting her head.
"Now here's a map to Adventure City." said Jake as he showed me and Everest the map he printed.
"You just leave Adventure Bay, then go down the main road til you reach the highway, then I think you just follow that until you see the buildings of Adventure City." said Jake, looking at the map.
"Do you think that's the way Ryder and the pups took?" asked Everest, still sitting in my lap.
"I guess it could be." Jake replied.
"Well, let's go!" exclaimed Everest jumping out of my lap and wagging her tail.
"Woah Everest, where are you going?" asked Jake.
"To pack, for our trip to Adventure City." replied Everest.
"Slow down Everest." I said with a laugh. "You're just going ahead of yourself."
"Well we need to go help." objected Everest.
"But we can't leave like that." said Jake as he snapped his fingers.
"Shouldn't we tell someone where we're going?" I asked.
"Well I'm sure Ryder and the pups told Mayor Goodway about it." said Jake.
"We should also." I said.
"Well, when are we going?" asked Everest.
"Well I need to close the resort," said Jake.
"Yeah and we need to pack some things also." I added. "I'm sure Ryder and the pups did."
"Aww, how long will it take?" complained Everest.
"Well first I need to get the cabin tidy then I need to get my things packed." explained Jake.
"And I need to go back to my house and start packing my things also." I said.
Everest was upset and a little frustrated.
"Aww, you have to do all that." she whined.
"Now Everest, you have to pack also." I said.
"I'll start right away." said Everest as she ran off to start packing.
Jake and I laughed a little.
"She sure can get excited." I said.
"Yeah she sure can." replied Jake.
I started to walk to my truck to go back to my truck parked outside so I could go back to my house to start packing for mine,Jake, and Everest's trip to Adventure City.
Then Everest walked up to me.
"Hey Adam, could I go back to your house with you?" she asked.
I looked over and saw Everest in her PAW Patrol gear with some of her things outside her pup house.
"Oh hi Everest." I said. "Why?"
Everest pondered for a moment.
"Well just so I can help you with packing for our trip." she explained.
"Oh alright then Everest." I said.
First Everest told Jake she was going back to my house with me to help me pack.
Then I helped Everest into the passenger seat of my truck.
Then we went back to my house so Everest could help me with packing.
Soon we were back at my house and we went inside so I could start packing.
In my bedroom I started packing some clothes in case we spent the night on the road and if we stayed in the city for more than one day.
Everest helped me bring things over to my suitcase.
Soon my suitcase was all packed.
"Alright now let's see how Jake is getting on with packing." said Everest.
"So I put my suitcase behind the driver seat of my truck.
Then I helped Everest back into the passenger seat of my truck.
Then we went back to Jake's.
Soon we arrived back at Jake's cabin.
Then Everest went to finish the rest of her packing.
Soon she had finished packing.
"I'm all packed Adam." Everest told me.
Then Jake came out of the cabin.
"I see you're all packed Everest." he said.
"Yes I am." Everest replied.
"So am I." I said. "My suitcase is packed and it's in my truck."
"Well I still have some packing to do," said Jake.
"Aww, when will we leave?" complained Everest.
"Patience Everest." I said.
"I'm sorry." sighed Everest. "I just want to see Adventure City and to see how Marshall and the others are doing."
"It's alright Everest." I said.
Then I had an idea.
"Hey Jake, is it ok if I take Everest and we go on ahead since you still have a few things to do before you can go on?" I asked.
"Sure Adam, you take Everest and you two can go on ahead." replied Jake.
Everest was delighted
"Yes, we're going to Adventure City." she said as she hopped around.
Jake and I chuckled at her silliness.
"Let's go Adam." cried Everest.
"First let's get your stuff in Adam's truck," said Jake.
First Jake and I helped Everest put her stuff behind the passenger seat beside my stuff.
"Now, should I bring her pup house Jake?" I asked.
"Yes, please do." Everest pleaded.
"Yeah, you should take it, in case Everest needs it when you're looking for Ryder and the pups," said Jake.
First I made room in the back of my truck so Everest's pup house would fit.
Then Jake helped me load Everest's pup house in the back of my truck.
After we loaded Everest's pup house on my truck, Jake went to get a tarp to cover it from the weather if there was any rain on the way.
Soon he came back with a large blue tarp.
"This tarp will protect your pup house Everest," he explained. "While you two are on the way to Adventure City".
"Good idea Jake." replied Everest.
Jake covered her pup house with the tarp then he showed me how to secure it in the back of my truck so I could take it off when we needed to.
After that was done Everest and I made sure we had everything we needed.
"I have some extra clothes and some food if we need it on the road." I explained going through a list.
"Good idea Adam." replied Everest. "And I brought my bowl, some treats and some other things I might need."
"Oh, you can't forget to bring some food for Everest." said Jake as he went to get Everest's food.
Soon he came back with a bag of liver food for me to take with us so Everest had something to eat if we had to spend the night somewhere.
"Good thinking Jake." I said as I took the bag.
Then I put it by Everest's things behind the passenger seat of my truck.
"I think that's everything." I said.
"Yeah, that looks like everything you two need." replied Jake as he checked everything Everest and I packed.
"Well let's go." said Everest excitedly.
"Wait, you need to know the way to Adventure City," said Jake.
"Oh right we almost forgot." said Everest with a giggle.
"I'll make a copy of the map so we each have one to show us the way." said Jake.
We went inside the cabin and Jake went on the computer again to copy the map he showed Everest and me.
He also copied the map of Adventure City so we each knew our way around the city when we got there.
Then Jake printed the copies he made of both the maps.
"Here you go Adam." he said, handing me each a copy of the maps.
Then Jake grabbed his maps of the way to Adventure City and of the city so he knew his way around like me and Everest.
"Ok, I have my maps, so now I need to close the resort and pack my bags then phone the mayor to tell her where we all are, then I'll be ready to head to the city." said Jake.
I knelt down by Everest and we studied the maps.
"Hmm, this is a big city." I said.
"Yeah it's a big city on the map, I bet it's even bigger in person." agreed Everest.
"Marshall told me that Chase has a history with Adventure City." I said.
"Yeah, I think he told both of us," said Everest with a worried look on her face.
I looked at my watch,
"Well I think we should get going Everest." I said. "It might take a while to get there."
Jake looked at the time on the computer.
"It's afternoon right now, so you might have to spend the night, if you do at least." he said.
"Yeah, we should go." said Everest.
"How long will you be Jake?" I asked.
"Well first I have to tell the mayor so we can all get the all clear." replied Jake. "You two should wait until we get the all clear because I think it's bad enough with Ryder and the pups gone."
Jake went to the phone and called the mayor.
Me and Everest sat on the couch planning our route on the map.
Soon Jake hung up the phone.
"Mayor Goodway said we can go to Adventure City if it's to help Ryder and the pups." he said to me and Everest.
"Great, looks like we all have a long journey ahead." I said.
"Now, I just have to close the resort and pack my bags then I'm ready to head to Adventure City." said Jake.
"How long will that take?" asked Everest with a confused look on her face.
"Well it might take a little bit, since it took a little while for you two to pack." replied Jake.
"Ok I guess we'll go ahead." I said.
We walked outside and made sure we had everything Everest and I needed for the trip to Adventure City.
"Ok." said Jake as he went through everything me and Everest had packed. "It seems like you have everything you need."
"Great, I think we're ready to head to Adventure City Everest." I said to her as I looked at my watch.
"Great, let's go!" cried Everest.
"Ok, so I'll close the resort, pack my things and I'll call you when I'm on the road." explained Jake.
"Ok Jake, and I'll call you if we're staying at a hotel." I replied.
"Ok, and I'll call you if I stay at a hotel as well," said Jake.
"Yeah, we'll get some lunch on the way cause it's about lunchtime." I said checking my watch.
"Yeah, good idea Adam, I'm pretty hungry." said Everest as her stomach growled.
"Ok Everest." I said as I patted her head. "We'll get some lunch on the way."
"Also we should use the bathroom before we leave." added Everest.
"Of course." I said as I went inside the cabin to use the bathroom.
Everest went by the cabin to do her business.
Soon I came back out of the cabin.
"I'm ready to get some lunch Everest." I said.
Soon Everest was finished and came into view.
"I'm all done Adam." she said.
"Alright, let's get something from Mr. Porters before we set off." I said.
"Ok Adam." replied Everest.
I opened the passenger door of my truck and helped Everest onto the passenger seat.
"Have a nice journey you two." said Jake as I buckled Everest's seat belt.
"Thanks Jake, and we'll call you if we need to." I said.
"Yeah, like if we're staying at a hotel, like Adam said." said Everest.
"Ok, I'll close the resort then I'll pack my bags, and I'll catch up to you two." replied Jake.
Alright, bye Jake." I said as I went over to the driver side of my truck.
"Bye Jake." said Everest.
"Bye you two." said Jake.
I turned the truck around and set off down the mountain ready to start mine and Everest's journey to Adventure City.
