The 17 Commander Of The Whitebeard Pirates

Summary: Luffy decides to join the Whitebeard Crew and in exchange he gets what he worked so hard to save… his brother Ace. AU/ Alive Ace, Alive Whitebeard.
Ace should of known something was wrong when he woke-up and he wasn't held hostage by Luffy's rubbery arms. That has been the norm since Ace almost died at Marineford a few weeks prier… saved only by the return of his supposedly dead brother. Ace scowled at the thought of the blonde; he still wasn't forgiven. Not because he forgot them, not because he was away for ten years either, heck it wasn't even because he almost died thinking he was leaving Luffy without a brother. No, what he still found it hard to forgive was that Sabo made Luffy cry when he tried to leave again! Sure, he argued that it was only for a few days until he got out of his command duty, but Luffy still cried. So, his fury was justified, and with that in mind Ace knock him out and got a wary looking Marco to watch over his captive.
"How long do I have to watch over him, Yoi?" Marco asked his barely heal, but crazy friend.
"Until, Pops talks to Dragon about Sabo's resignation." Ace said as he gaze at his captive with indifference.
"Didn't Sabo said he wasn't going to resign? He was just gonna ask for a vacation, Yoi." Marco stated warily.
"A permanent vacation from the Revolutionary Army! Sabo's joining either Pops or Luffy's crew." Ace stated firmly.
"So, no third option, Yoi?" Marco asked fighting a smile.
"Yes, he can always choose…Death. For making Lu cry. The punishment fits the crime." Ace said coldly as Marco quickly turns white and he let out a sigh.
"You made him cry too when you almost died, Yoi!" Marco pointed out helplessly.
"Not my fault. I was saving Luffy's life." Ace stated as he shrug his shoulders and began to walk away leaving Marco with a headache.
That was just yesterday and now Luffy is missing. Getting up from his bed and getting ready to track down his missing brother. He passed the halls of the ship with some of his friends yelling 'good morning, Ace!', 'What? No Luffy today?', 'Hey, Ace!' Ace just nodded his head and gave them all a warm smile; he then continue his search for Luffy. He went up to the deck and went over where Marco he was talking quietly with a tied and subdue Sabo. They both turned their gazes towards him; Marco looked at him with his usual bored expression and Sabo just gave him an irritated one.
"Good morning, Ace. I'm guessing you're looking for Luffy, Yoi?" Marco asked.
"Yep, have you seen him? I'm worried he trying to raid the kitchen again. Oh, hey, Sabo." Ace greeted casually.
"He is with Pops. They're having a meeting, Yoi." Marco stated.
"Seriously, Ace…just a 'hey, Sabo.' after you knock me unconscious and basically held me prisoner?" Sabo asked irritated.
"You wanted to leave and made Luffy cry. We're his older brothers, Sabo, we protect Lu against everything and anything. So, if keeping you prisoner makes Lu happy than so be it." Ace said firmly.
"Oh, great protector, guardian of our younger brother! If you're so careful with Lu… how come you lost him?" Sabo said while he rolled his eyes,
"I didn't lose him. You heard Marco! He is with Pops! Hey, why is Luffy talking about with Pops?' Ace asks as he turned his attention back to Marco.
"Don't know, but it looks like we're going to find out, Yoi." Marco said as he heard his father heavy food steps approaching.
Ace, Sabo, and Marco turned their heads to watch as Whitebeard and Luffy came to the deck. Whitebeard was walking slowly with his medical machines at his right side, still not at all heal from the war, and a serious looking Luffy at his left matching him step by step. The moment they both stop at the center of the deck and Luffy eyes met Ace's he gave a big grin while bouncing on his feet. Obviously, he wanted to throw himself at Ace, but he held himself back and stayed besides Whitebeard. Ace began to have a weird feeling that something was amiss, and he spared a glance at his bound brother. Sabo for his part seemed to have figured out what was going on, and he let a smug smile grace his face as he turns to face Ace.
"Seems I'm not the only one who will be taken prisoner." Sabo said amused and Ace just stare confused.
"My Children, seems we have much to celebrate today! Straw hat Luffy, captain of the straw hats decided to join in an alliance with us. They will bare our mark as one of our own, and they will be a part of us. My children, meet the 17 commander of the Whitebeards, Monkey D. Luffy!" Whitebeard loud and amused voice reached all over the ship and left all the members paralyzed.
"WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!" Voices from all over the ship scream at the same time as figures from all over emerge and surrounded Whitebeard. Luffy chuckle and seeing as Whitebeard had more people besides him in case he needed help… Luffy finally gave in to his need to throw himself at Ace. Wrapping his arms around a frozen Ace, and using the force to collied with him making Ace tumbled at the impact. But he manage to stay upright with a grinning Luffy now safely cuddle in his arms.
"Hey, Sabo! You're staying too? That's great!" Luffy said as he gave Sabo a grin and completely ignored his bond state.
"Luffy, I couldn't leave if I wanted too. Our crazy, overprotective, brother decided to take me hostage." Sabo stated with frown as he watched the whitebeard crew still surrounding their captain.
"Really? That's nice! Hey, Ace can we eat meat now? I'm hungry." Luffy said not really paying any attention at Sabo, as he turned his thoughts on food and cuddle closer to Ace while tilt his head to give his famous pleading stare.
"W-W-Wait, Lu, you join our crew? But what about your dream of being Pirate King?" Ace asked bewildered.
"Yep! Pops and I talked… he offered me something in exchange for joining his crew! I couldn't say no! I got my treasure! I'm still going to become Pirate King… Pops, doesn't want the crown. He said I could have it. So, I have my treasure and I get to keep my dream." Luffy stated brightly.
"TREASURE?!?!" Now the whole crew turned towards Luffy, and asked excitedly 'Oh, did you get an island?!', 'The Gold we got from the mermaids?' 'The expensive sake we got from…' shouts of excitement was silenced by Whitebeard laughter.
"He was quite the negotiator that brat. He manage to get everything he wanted from me." Whitebeard voice held affection.
"What did you get, Lu?" Ace asked curiously.
" I got Ace!" Luffy cheered.
"Oh, you got… ME?!?!" Ace almost fell forward in shock and Sabo gave an amused look.
"Him? Seriously?" "Straw hat, seriously? You wanted Ace instead of beer?" "Pops, would have given you your own island, Stupid." People we're mumbling their disbelief and Ace was having an irked look on his face as he practically burst into flames.
"I'll have you know I'm a prize! Worth more than beer or a damn island!" Ace stated with fire in his eyes.
"Says who?"
"Wow, Ace, you certainly got an ego. I would have taken the beer."
"You? A prize? Ace, I love you, but calling you a prize… that's something else."
Mummers of agreement and his so called friends obvious disbelief made Ace marched towards the center and look at all of them with murder in his eyes, but the intimidating image was damaged by the cuddled boy in his arms that pouted at all of them.
"You all went to war for me. See, I'm a prize." Ace said victory etch in his tone.
"More like BECAUSE of you. There is a big difference, Yoi." Marco said with a smirk as Ace turn red in anger.
"Hey! You all stop picking on Ace! My Ace is more valuable than One Piece!" Luffy said as he gave them all a scowled. Silence, before everyone (except Ace, Luffy and Whitebeard) burst into amused laughter.
"Fuck you all! Except, Pops and Luffy!" Ace said as he began stomping away in the direction of the kitchen before he set the whole ship on fire.
Sabo was chuckling with the rest of the crew and was feeling much better on his predicament. He could get used to being on this ship, and after he manage to escape to find a communicator he could convince Dragon for some time off. He had two brothers to look after, and knowing them their are bond for more trouble. They would need him and after so long without them Sabo needed them too.
"You know… there is always room for another member in our crew, Yoi." Marco said as he spare him a glanced.
"I think I don't have a choice. Do I?" Sabo said resignation clear in his tone of voice.
"You do have a choice, Yoi?" Marco asked bored.
"Yeah, the choices are me becoming a member or staying a prisoner, Ace is fine with either." Sabo snorted as he rolled shoulder and flex his arms.
"Ace, did say you were the smart one. I guess he wasn't lying, Yoi." Marco said smiling lazily.
"So, are you going to untie me or what?" Sabo asked casually.
"Sure, right after Ace calms done and comes back with Luffy. I don't want to be got off guard in case you try something, Yoi." Marco said as he relaxed.
"And you're afraid I can take you on, Marco the Phoenix? Me? I'm just some member of the revolutionary Army versus a commander of the whitebeards pirates." Sabo said fighting the urge to grin.
"Some member? From what I heard from Pops… you're the chief of staff, Sabo. Besides any brother of Ace and Luffy is destine to be a monster just like them. I would rather not have to fight you, we just got this new ship, Yoi." Marco said as he closed his eyes.
"Well, you're right about that. I'm a monster just like those two idiots, but so is also everyone in this crew. I would like to have a friendly match with you someday though. I think it would be fun, and we brothers do like to have fun." Sabo said fondly.
"Noted. Yoi." Marco said as he began to rest lightly.
"Some guard." Sabo mumble as he too closed his eyes for a nap.
Meanwhile Ace was getting some breakfast for Luffy, and watch fondly as he ate everything while staying close to his side. Luffy move slightly to the side as he grab more meat, and his red vest move to reveal a bit of skin on his shoulder. Ace stared as he saw a bit of the ink flesh before moving his hand to yank at his brother vest. There on his left shoulder was a small insignia of the whitebeards. Marking Luffy as one of them; he was a new commander and a known troublemaker. Ace didn't know If he should be worried for his crew or Luffy. But as Luffy gave him a small nudge away and gave him a pastry with his eyes shinning with adoration he figured his crew could learn to live with his adorable, reckless, loyal, and idiotic little brother. Or they could die.
Ace was fine with whatever.

4. Luffy is going to be a commander for the Whitebeards, and decided to join. He will still have his crew and he will become Pirate King since whitebeard doesn't really care about the title.
5. Luffy is both; a commander for the whitebeards and the captain of the strawhats. Think of it as having two different branches of the same company.
