*bam* *thud*
Sam was sitting on the couch in his condo mindlessly scrolling through the apps on his phone when he heard the noises. Things were pounding on the ceiling above him. He looked up with a concerned furrow in his brow.
"McNally?" He shouted up to his wife. What was she doing up there? He waited a minute but got no response. "Are you okay up there?"
*thud* *crash*
"Honey!" He stood up and raced up the stairs to their bedroom.
He paused in the hallway and leaned against the doorway, grinning to himself. He couldn't get in the bedroom even if he wanted to. There were clothes and shoes, and other miscellaneous things all over the floor. Andy was crawling on her hands and knees inside their closet.
"Darling? Can I ask what you're doing?" Sam asked, rubbing his fingers into his forehead.
"Reorganizing." He heard Andy mumble. She sat up and reached to pull out a drawer. The track got stuck and she fell back on her butt. "Ow."
"Can you please be careful?" Sam tiptoed through the chaos and kneeled down next to her. "What inspired this need to trash the place?"
Andy sighed and leaned into Sam, as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "The moving truck with all of my stuff comes in two days and you've made no room in here for me." She gestured with her hand towards the closet.
Sam squeezed her shoulders and kissed her temple. "Sure I have. What about that corner over there?" He pointed.
She laughed and nudged him in the stomach with her elbow. "You know that's not enough space for me."
Sam stood up and reached out a hand to help her up. "Well then, how can I help?"
Andy put a hand on his shoulder and kissed him on the cheek. "By staying out of the way."
"Point taken." Sam nodded and backed away, hands up in surrender.
Andy walked back into the closet and started reaching up onto the shelves. She yanked down a cardboard box and brought it into the room, sitting it on their bed.
"You don't want to go through that one." Sam tried to stop her from digging through the box.
"Why? What's in here?" Andy started looking anyway. Her eyes landed on a cowboy hat and some beat up looking cowboy boots. "What are these?" She asked with a smirk, holding up one of the boots.
Sam chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. "Umm...those are really old. Not worth talking about."
"Okay." Andy nodded and laughed. She threw the boot back into the box and pulled out the tan colored cowboy hat. She reached up and put the hat on Sam's head.
"Howdy partner." Sam joked with a slight twang in his voice.
Andy grinned and stepped forward, wrapping an arm around Sam's waist. "I kind of like this look on you."
Sam leaned down and kissed her softly. "Really? Should I see if the boots still fit?"
"Only if you're getting naked first." Andy grinned with her tongue between her teeth.
"That can be arranged." Sam nodded with a smile, leaning down to kiss her again.
"Can't wait." Andy replied. "But first, I want to get this cleaned up."
"Okay. I'll see you later, cowgirl." Sam joked again, tipping the front of the hat forward.
Andy laughed and gave Sam a shove. "Go. And take those with you…please." She said, gesturing towards some empty boxes.
"Can do." Sam nodded and took the hat off his head. He placed the hat on Andy's head. "Looks good on you too." He winked and picked the boxes before heading out the door.
