Hello everyone, I'm here with a brand new story for ya.
For the longest time I too wanted to do my own take to MHA react/watch/view series. I want to cover stuff that not a lot of people want to do and such.
I like to give a big shout to lady_hoshigaki for helping me put this together, seriously thank you.
As for the timeline of MHA, this takes place after All For One is defeated and All Might retires.
Without further ado, I hope you enjoy.
The students of class 1-A sat in their classroom, talking among themselves as they waited for their teacher to arrive. But today, it seemed like Aizawa was late. This surprised the students, knowing that even though their teacher was a lazy guy, he was always at class on time. Standing from his seat and grabbing the rest of his classmate's attention, Iida readjusted his glasses before speaking.
"Since Aizawa-sensei is late, I'll head to the teacher's lounge and retrieve him," the class rep announced before attempting to walk towards the door. Kaminari was quick to get up and block the spectacled boy's way.
"Wait, hold on a minute. Why're you in such a hurry? Who cares if he's late? That just means there's less work for us," he said, trying to persuade his class rep. But his words fell upon deaf ears, there was no way Iida would listen to and comply with that.
"The sole purpose of attending school to receive a proper education, I don't understand why you would come to school not wanting to do work," Iida answered, Kaminari signing and returning to his desk. He knew that there was no way he would get through to him, Iida was the kind of person who reminded the teacher there was homework when they had forgotten. Continuing to make his way towards the door, something happened which made all of the students widen their eyes in shock. Suddenly the floor beneath them disappeared, causing everyone in the room to fall into the darkness below.
With eyes closed tightly, it took barely a second for the students of class 1-A to notice that they were no longer falling. One by one they opened their eyes, looking around with confusion after finding themselves in a place they'd never seen before. It was as if they were in a movie theater, there being a huge screen at the front of the room nd tonnes of places for people to sit. But instead of the usual cinema chairs, there were king-sized couches.
Todoroki was the first to move from his spot, nonchalantly walking down the aisles of couches before picking one and sitting down. Despite the situation they were in, he didn't really seem to care.
"What the hell is going on!?" Bakugou yelled, shifting all attention to himself. This is what really solidified everyone's panic, they were all extremely confused and wanted to know what was going on. They had somehow been teleported to a foreign place and didn't appear to have an exit. This basically meant that they were trapped.
"Everyone, let's calm down. This is probably the work of someone's quirk, it's best if we refrain from panicking and keep a level head about this," Iida announced, making a robotic movement with his arm.
"Do you think it's another villain attack?" Hagakure asked, looking around to see if there were any signs of an attacker. Yaoyorozu placed her hand gently on her back, rubbing it in hopes of calming her down.
"Let's not jump to conclusions, just try and keep calm," she assured the invisible girl. A majority of the class's attention focused on the two girls but was instantly stripped away by Bakugou's yelling once more.
"I'm gonna blow up this wall so I can get the hell out of here," the ash-blonde yelled, firing up his palms with a few small explosions. But he was instantly blocked off by Midoriya, who stood him his way, a terrified expression on his freckled face.
"Kacchan, you can't blow stuff up in here. It's too dangerous," he tried to reason, flinching when Bakugou came even closer. Yelling at the green bean to get out of his way.
On the other side of the room, Uraraka had separated herself from the group, doing some exploring of her own. Unlike Todoroki who had gone straight to the couches, Uraraka approached the big screen. Right now it was black, looking like any other screen in a movie theatre that was off. She took a moment to look around near the screen, hoping she could find some buttons. Unfortunately, the brunette had no luck and eventually gave up.
But her breaking off from the group attracted the attention of some of her classmates. Ashido was the first to skip over and see what was going on.
"Did you find anything?" the pink-skinned girl asked, her head slightly tilted out of curiosity. The girl with the gravity-quirk shook her head, looking disappointed.
"Nothing, I hoped there would be some kind of on button." Ashido giggled as she approached the screen.
"But what if it's a window instead," she joked, moving closer. Once she was right in front of it, she cupped her hands above her eyes and tried to look through the screen, her body leaping back as the screen lit up. It was now a bright white, illuminating the dimly lit room.
"Please select the multiverse you would like to view," an unknown voice announced. Class 1-A students shared unsure glances with each other.
"What was that?" Kaminari asked, walking over to join Uraraka and Ashido at the front.
"We don't know," the brunette answered, "Ashido touched the screen and it suddenly turned on." The blonde approached the screen and gently tapped the screen, this time a few options appearing.
"Please select the multiverse you would like to view," it repeated.
"What does it say?" Mineta asked, coming over to join his friend. At this point, everyone watched the screen, trying to see if anything would change. The screen seemed to be their best bet in getting out of there.
"Um… they're just a bunch of numbers and letters. One of them says TO647 and then there's another that says RB392, maybe they're the multiverses the computer lady mentioned," Kaminari suggested, this being his best bet.
"Should we choose one?" Uraraka asked, not wanting anything bad to happen they were to go along with what the computer voice had said.
"Let's do it anyway, we've got no other choice," Mineta answered, moving towards the screen and choosing one of the random options. Processing the choice, the screen flickered back and then returned to its white appearance.
"You have selected the multiverse 'SY608'. For the best viewing experience, remain seated throughout the viewing of this multiverse," the voice announced before the screen changed again. Not knowing what else to do, the students of class 1-A began taking their seats as they waited for the screen. Even Bakugou eventually gave in and sat down, huffing in annoyance since he didn't get to blow up the wall like he had wanted.
Suddenly something appeared on screen, the entire class being hooked in a second by the sight of a hero none of them had seen before.
"Wow, who's that? I've never seen a hero like him before," Sero said, looking around to see if anyone had any clue who it was.
"In this multiverse, you are currently viewing a hero whose name is Invincible," the computer voice announced.
"Huh, Invincible? I wonder what his quirk is," Midoriya gushed, reaching for his hero notebook but feeling sad after realising that he hadn't brought it with him.
"It's obvious that his quirk is flying, dumbass!" Bakugou called out across the room, making the green-haired boy slouch in his seat.
"Y'know, you really ruined my afternoon"
"I didn't even realise he was holding someone and it looks like they've got a bomb," Tsuyu added, her classmates agreeing with her.
"Well, now that I've got you all to myself."
1-A watched as the man strapped with the bob was thrown away from Invincible, a loud explosion following. Even though Bakugou didn't say it out loud, he liked the explosion and that had piqued his interest in whatever was going on in this multiverse.
"So is all of this happening now?" Jirou asked, immediately receiving a response from Midoriya
"Yeah, they're just universes that co-exist with ours and sure it was just a theory. But now that we're in this situation, this proves that it's actually real… Unless this is someone's quirk and we're all hallucinating this," he answered, letting out some awkward laughter at the end.
The class then watched as Invincible fell from the sky, landing in a pile of snow. Seeing that he had gotten out uninjured made a lot of them let out relieved sighs. Now that it had become apparent that this multiverse was real, they rooted for the hero.
"If I keep this up, I'm gonna give myself a heart attack."
The class watched in silence as the screen turned white before they saw the image of a completely different place. They were surprised to see the snow-covered tundra disappear, being replaced by a regular western-style house.
"What are we looking at now? Did he teleport or something?" Ashido asked aloud, saying exactly what was on the minds of her fellow classmates. And without a second interval, the computer voice was quick to chime in.
"What you are now experiencing now is a memory. Our multiverse database has many A.I collecting information throughout our monitoring server. It has come to our attention that you are unaware of the hero 'Invincible'. Another A.I within our database has come to the conclusion that it will be most beneficial to you if you're to experience what is noted as a 'hero backstory'." Hearing that the part he was enjoying was coming to an end made Bakugou huff and slide down in his seat.
"Just hurry up and get this over with!" he yelled. There was no further response from the unnamed A.I, the screen continuing to display the house and a raven-haired woman.
"If you keep that up, you're gonna give yourself a heart attack!"
"Jesus, Mom! I'm just reading a comic book. I'll be out in a minute."
"A shameful display," Aoyama commented, posing despite no one watching. Kaminari laughed from the row in front of him.
"No way, man. The guy's just going about his life."
"How old do you think he is? About our age?" Uraraka asked, turning to Tokoyami who was watching quietly beside her.
"We look to be similar in age, but I'm unsure of his age so I couldn't say," he answered, returning his attention to the screen.
Well you need to stop reading that comic book and start getting ready. You'll be late for school."
"So he's a student, do you think he goes to high school or junior high?" Hagakure asked, Jirou raising an eyebrow.
"Why do you care so much about his age?" she asked. Hagakure shied away, refusing to answer but pretending she hadn't heard the question. All eyes watched the screen as the teen left the bathroom and finally entered the living room, now ready for school. Seeing him turn on the TV, the students of class 1-A seemed to lean forward at the sight of another hero.
"...Using a dragon-like monster to enslave a portion of Taiwan. New reports reveal the blurred figure seen in the amateur photograph to be none other than Omni-man, Defender of Democracy."
"Omni-man, huh? I wonder what his quirk is?" Midoriya muttered to himself, trying to keep quiet so as to not disturb any of his classmates.
"Well, know you know where he is?"
"I hope he brings something nice for me, I've never been to Taiwan."
"So his dad is Omni-man? That's kinda like Todoroki, don't you think? I mean his dad's a hero," Kirishima commented. Todoroki ignored the boy with the hardening quirk, not wanting to bring his father into this.
The class then watched Invincible, who they had now discovered was named Mark, as he bid his friend goodbye, heading to his part time job. Everyone remained quiet until they watched Mark accidentally launch a trash bag high into the air.
"It's about time."
"But I thought his quirk was flying," Ojiro said, looking at the screen in confusion. Koda and Shoji nodded silently in agreement.
"It's also a little weird that he's only developed his quirk now, isn't it? I mean aren't you supposed to get it when you're around four and five years old?" Sero pointed out.
"I believe that this multiverse may be different in terms of quirks. It doesn't appear that many people have them," Iida thought aloud.
"The term 'quirk' is used only in your multiverse as a way to describe supernatural abilities. In this multiverse, there are only a select few who have these abilities, opposed to your multiverse which has a four to one ratio of special ability users," the A.I interjected. The class observed as the memory continued, trying to stay open-minded as they did. This multiverse seemed so similar to their own at first but now they had seen just how different it really was.
"Let's go ahead and start, it doesn't look like he's gonna be home anytime soon."
"I had a pretty interesting day-."
"Sorry I'm late. There was an enchanted flood in Egypt I had to deal with on the way over."
Class 1-A was surprised to see the sudden appearance of who they could only assume was Mark's father and the hero Omni-man.
"So he can run fast too?! He's like All Might if he could fly," Kaminari expressed, not being able to keep himself still.
"He's amazing," Midoriya added, "His quirk seems to give multiple abilities, so far flying, super speed and super strength."
"I wonder how he is able to have many abilities, it just seems too convenient," Yaoyorozu commented.
"How so?" Sato asked, seeming interested in what the raven-haired girl had to say. Glancing back at the screen at the family having dinner, she inspected the father closely.
"In our multiverse, a person only has one quirk which can have multiple functions. But they're usually related in some way unlike the powers that Omni-man appears to have. For instance, his abilities don't correlate like ours do. He's somewhat similar to All Might but in terms of his powers, he's more like All for one." Her classmates were surprised when hearing her words but it was difficult to disagree. The only person that they knew of, besides the brainless Nomu, that had the ability to hold more than one quirk was All for one.
"But I don't mean to say that makes him a villain or anything. It's just the only thing back in our world which I can relate to him too," she tried to justify, not having anything against the hero. Midoriya nodded in agreement with Momo's words, the class leaving her comment at the at.
A short conversation between Mark's mother and father ended on screen, attention of the parents shifting to the teen.
"So… how was your day, Mark?"
"Fine, I think I'm finally getting my super powers."
"That's nice, can you pass the potatoes?"
"What the hell?! He suddenly gets a quirk and the old hag doesn't give a shit?!" Bakugou exploded. Kirishima laughed, roughly petting his friend's shoulder.
"Come on, man. His dad's got a quirk so it's not crazy to think that Mark would get one too." Bakugou pushed Kirishima's hand away before slouching in his seat, continuing to watch the screen and occasionally glaring at the red-haired boy.
"Okay… Dad says it's a reflex… So if I can fly… It should just happen when I jump off."
The students observed as Mark now stood on the roof of his house, getting ready to test out his newly developed powers. Mineta gently elbowed Kaminari in the side, grabbing the electric blonde's attention.
"I bet you 1000 yen that he falls," the purple-haired pervert whispered. Seeing that there was a challenge, Kaminari nodded, offering his hand for his friend to shake in order to secure their bet.
"And 1000 to me if he flies."
"As long as I have my dad's invulnerability, this shouldn't even hurt if I hit the ground."
"He's invulnerable too, no wonder his name's Invincible," Ashido commented.
"But if I can't fly yet, then it's possible that I'm not invulnerable yet."
Mineta's smile widened, feeling like Mark's unease would earn him 1000 yen. They then watched Mark jump off the house, pausing in midair before he flew upwards, testing out his new ability for the first time.
"Whoa, too cool."
Seeing that he had lost the bet, Mineta sighed in annoyance before reaching into his pocket to pull out the money he owed Kaminari. The blonde happily took the money, sliding it into his own pocket with a satisfied grin.
"Boy, we really screwed that one up"
"We?"
"Oh so it's my fault the cops showed up so quick."
Seeing a new setting, the students were intrigued. Especially Midoriya who was staying at the large man who appeared to be encased in what he could only describe as some kind of sand or clay.
"Who do you think these guys are? Villains?" Uraraka asked, watching the scene unfold.
"Seems like it," Jirou answered, not being too sure herself.
"It was a diamond heist! We knew there would be cops there! Why do you think we brought you along?!"
"You were supposed to take care of the cops so we could calmly make out get away. You weren't supposed to run with us you idiot!"
"Just because bullets bounce off me doesn't mean they feel like back rubs! There were at least six cops back there ready to open fire!"
"His quirk sounds kinda like yours Kirishima," Hagakure thought aloud, grabbing the attention of the redhead. Rubbing the back of his neck, he sheepishly smiled.
"I guess so but it's not all that nice being compared to a villain, y'know." The invisible gave a quiet apology before returning her attention to the screen ahead.
The class watched as the larger guy picked the two others up and leapt over a fence only to be struck in the face with who they recognised as the younger Invincible.
"What happened to his hero costume?" Ojiro asked.
"Well, this is his origin story so I don't think he would have hero costumes at his disposal. In the world they don't have schools and companies for heroes and hero costumes or support items," Iida speculated.
"Who the hell are you? Are you trying to stop us or rob us?"
Class 1-A was mesmerised during the fight, finding the action to be exciting. Even those who were trying to act like they weren't enjoying this, mainly Bakugou, couldn't help but lean forward in their seats. Invincible finished the villain off with a strong punch to the face, breaking off the dirt-like armor he wore.
"Sorry about that, I guess the outfit could be a bit misleading. I'm sure my intentions are clear now."
"What in god's name are you wearing? Isn't it a little early to be doing this? You've had your powers for what… a week?"
The students were surprised to see the appearance of Mark's father, Omni-man, due to how suddenly he had arrived.
"Two weeks actually, I'm still getting the hang of it. I've been wearing this while I've practice flying so no one would recognise me. I spotted these guys and just couldn't let them get away."
"Does that mean that they're technically considered vigilantes?" Todoroki asked, keeping his eyes on screen as he awaited an answer from one of his classmates.
"I believe so, this society doesn't appear to have any regulations on heroes," Iida informed.
"Well I can't have you running around looking that ridiculous. It looks like the police are here to pick up these sleeping beauties, so come on. I'm going to introduce you to a guy that can help you out."
"Awesome," Sero enthused, "That means he's gonna finally get his hero costume, right?" Aoyama winked, striking another unseen pose.
"Now he can finally look presentable being out of those rags, I hope he picks something sparkly."
"Sorry to let you down, Aoyama. But we've already seen what his hero costume looks like," Jirou interjected. Although she was right, Aoyama ignored her comment, still holding hope in seeing him wearing something sparkling.
"Prom dresses by day, nuclear powered suits of armor by night. With your standard spandex number thrown in every now and then for good measure. I've had this secret workshop here forever."
The students were interested in the introduction of this new character.
"I guess because being a hero isn't as common in their universe they need to keep this kind of thing quiet," Yaoyorozu added.
"Yeah, it looks like when people in this multiverse are heroes or work with hero related things they also have a day job. Being a hero is like a secret life for them, it's not a real profession," Tsu thought aloud.
"Well, how does it feel?"
Don't know about this orange and yellow. I mean it sings... but I don;t think it's the tune we're looking for."
"It somewhat looks like Sato's or maybe even Koda's hero costume," Ashido said, turning to the two boys for input. Sato let out a small amount of awkward laughter.
"Maybe the yellow, other than that I don't see any other similarities. The same goes for Koda's too, he has the yellow but that's paired with red while Invincible's has orange." Koda nodded in agreement, not wanting to verbally say anything.
"And what's with all the weird disk things?"
"They're solar batteries. I designed that costume back when I was under the impression that you and your dad's powers were solar power based."
"Imagine that, I wonder if anyone in our world has a quirk that's fueled by solar power," Midoriya muttered to himself yet being loud enough to be heard by his entire class.
"I'd think so, 80% of the population in our world has a quirk and there is still so much room for diversity of quirks," Uraraka speculated.
The class then watched as the father received a message before blasting off and out of the room, leaving only the hero costumer maker and Invincible.
"Sorry about that, you get used to it after a while."
"You don't have to apologize to me, I've been working with your father for years. I know he has bigger priorities than looking at silly clothes. So what do you think of the costume, be honest."
"I don't know, it just doesn't seem… Iconic. Do you know what I mean?"
The class watched in silence as their conversation carried out, seeming interested when something specific was mentioned.
"Have you decided on a name yet?"
"But doesn't he already have a name?" Kaminari asked. Jirou snickered, placing her hand over her mouth so as to not be too loud.
"It's a memory, he's just received his quirk, idiot." The blonde was quick to turn to the girl with earphone jacks hanging from her ears, poking his tongue out at her.
The screen then showed a change in scenery, mark now appearing in a classroom at school. The teacher finished the lesson before the students were let out, Mark now appearing next to his locker. From there they watched someone beside Mark being picked on by a much larger guy.
"Hey man, why don't you listen to the guy and leave him alone? What are you trying to prove?"
"What's the matter? You feeling left out or something? Well I'll make sure I can make you feel included. How's this?"
"What an asshole, he just pushed him!" Ashido expressed loudly, looking annoyed by the bully's behaviour.
But her mood was soon changed after Mark shoved the bully harshly into the lockers, leaving a big dent where it had been hit.
"No way, that was awesome!" she cheered.
"It's not good to encourage violence," Iida lectured, making Ashido quiet down.
"It wasn't because of that, I just thought it was cool."
Attention remained on the screen as it appeared that Mark was now in the principal's office, being lectured by him.
"You're not invincible, you know."
Hearing the principal finish, Midoriya smiled widely after seeing the enlightened expression on Mark's face.
"So that's how he came up with his name," he thought aloud.
The scene then changed to another, showing what the students observed was a bank. Multiple people wearing ski masks and holding guns littered the area, surrounding a group of hostages that sat on the floor. Taking the money from one of the bank tellers, the criminals began making their way out of the bank and to their getaway vehicle.
"Damn, where are the heroes?" Sero thought aloud.
"I guess because there are so few of them it would be hard to deal with multiple problems at once. Because we have so many heroes in our world we never really run into that kind of problem," Kirishima added.
"Come on, the cops must be on their way by now."
The criminals continued to run, stopping when they noticed their getaway driving running towards them.
"Steve?"
"You must be looking for this."
"Wow, he's gotta be super strong being able to hold up that car whilst flying," Mineta gushed.
"Drop it, freak, or we'll blow you away."
"I wouldn't try that… I'm Invincible."
The class then watched as the screen faded to black, that being the end.
"It felt like I was in the movie theatre, minus the popcorn," Kaminari said, standing up to stretch.
"Yeah, but now that it's over, what are we supposed to do?" Sato asked, looking around.
"I don't see an exit anywhere, maybe we could try the screen again?" Tsu suggested.
"Thank you for your patience, we hope that you enjoyed your time screening another multiverse. Unfortunately, your time for today has run out," the A.I said, still leaving everyone confused.
"Then how do we leave?" Uraraka called, hoping it would respond.
"The same way you arrived here," it answered. Barely a second passed before the floor disappeared, the students of class 1-A beginning to fall once again. And then as it had happened last time, the sensation of falling disappeared suddenly. All opening their eyes they were greeted with the sight of their classroom, everyone seated at their desk.
"What the hell was that all about?!" Bakugou yelled. A few of his classmates opened their mouths to answer but were cut off by the sound of the classroom door opening, Aizawa entering.
"Sensei, you're late," Yaoyorozu commented, hoping to get an excuse from her teacher. The scruffy-looking male looked to the clock on the wall before returning his gaze to his student.
"What are you talking about? I'm five minutes early," he answered, looking both annoyed and confused by the question. But he wasn't the only one feeling that way. Everyone in class 1-A couldn't help but remember how they had been teleported to that strange cinema, watching another multiverse and the story of the hero, Invincible. But it seemed so unreal, so much so that they pushed thoughts of it aside, trying to convince themselves it was just an abnormal dream.
And that's a wrap.
So yeah, Class 1A will be taking a look at Image Comics Superhero Invincible. Not a lot of people are aware of Invincible comics so I'm hoping people can get interested enough and check the story for themselves.
Class 1A will view other stuff in the future but for now they will be looking at the story of Invincible.
If you like to support this story, leave a comment or review which is very much appreciated.
To anybody and everybody, take care.
