Hello, everyone! Welcome to another new story. Like a lot of the other stories I've written, this idea just came to my mind and I had to write it immediately. I thought that I should write it since I haven't really seen many stories for this pairing. I hope that you'll enjoy it.

Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia or any of the characters.

Autumn in Japan was always a sight to behold.

Izuku Midoriya couldn't help but admire the area around him.

As the sun was setting, the area was bathed in an orangish glow, matching the leaves on the trees around him.

Midoriya stopped on a bridge, looking down at his reflection in the water.

As a leaf fell down, causing his reflection to disappear and the water to ripple, he didn't notice that someone was approaching him.

Itsuka Kendo, from his rival class.

"Midoriya." Kendo said.

Midoriya flinched and slightly jumped back, in surprise.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Kendo said.

"Oh, it's alright, I just didn't expect someone else to be here." Midoriya said.

Kendo chuckled at his nervous behavior and looked down at the pond.

"Yeah, everyone usually comes here in the morning, but I always enjoyed seeing the sunset a lot more." Kendo told him.

Midoriya let down his guard a bit, letting out a breath before he went to stand next to her.

"So, what are you doing out here?" Kendo asked.

"I just wanted to collect my thoughts and try to make sense of some things." Midoriya said.

Midoriya was hoping that his answer would be enough, as he had purposely made it vague.

"I can't tell her anything specific about my quirk but hopefully I'll be able to at least hold a conversation." Midoriya thought.

Thankfully for him, Kendo changed the subject.

"I can understand that, I needed to clear my mind too." Kendo said.

Midoriya noticed that she was clearly stressed out.

"Is something wrong?" Midoriya asked.

Kendo flinched as she realized how she had made it sound.

"No, not at all, it's just been a lot to handle lately, especially when you're responsible for everyone in class." Kendo said.

"Not to mention between that commercial and being tricked into competing in that pageant, I haven't exactly been showing what kind of hero I want to be." Kendo told him.

"That's rough, but I remember your display from the pageant and your combat abilities were amazing." Midoriya complimented her.

"Despite the situations you've been put in, you always put in the effort and it'll show when people see what you're capable of." Midoriya assured her.

Kendo was momentarily taken aback by his praise and sincerity.

"Thank you." Kendo said.

"Hopefully in the next sports festival, I can impress everyone." Kendo said.

"I'm sure that you will." Midoriya said.

"Maybe our classes will be more cooperative by then." Kendo said.

"Yeah, Bakugo does tend to cause a lot of unwanted conflict for the rest of us." Midoriya said.

"Monoma isn't any better, he's determined to take your class down." Kendo said.

The two of them sighed, as they hoped for some much needed solace.

Midoriya looked over at Kendo, noticing the look of contemplation on her face.

"I should probably try to lighten the mood." Midoriya thought.

Midoriya took a minute to try and think of a subject to talk about, aside from their classes.

Afterwards, he just blurted out the first thing that he could think of.

"Your hair looks nice." Midoriya blurted out.

Kendo looked at him curiously, noticing the look of anxiety on his face.

"Are you okay?" Kendo asked, with a slight chuckle.

"Yeah, I'm just not good at dealing with small talk." Midoriya admitted.

"Well, it was a nice try, though I don't know what you mean, my hair looks the same as it always does." Kendo said.

"Oh, I just meant how it compliments the environment around us and how you look so peaceful here." Midoriya said.

Kendo wasn't going to deny that she did find comfort here, but she was surprised that Midoriya took notice of it as well as somewhat comparing her to the seasonal changes around them.

Midoriya was writing down notes in his notebook as Kendo looked over at him.

"Did he just have that with him the whole time?" Kendo thought.

She noticed that he was writing in a page about her.

"He has notes on me and my quirk." Kendo thought.

Kendo was amazed at the level of detail and shocked by how much potential her quirk could have.

Finally, she saw the latest notes that he had added in.

"I should ask her to train with me since her quirk and skills in fighting could potentially help us both to improve." Kendo read.

"I think we can interact with each other and get along." Kendo read.

However, what got to her, was the last thing he had written.

"Hopefully, I'll have another friend." Kendo read.

Kendo couldn't help but smile.

"I've seen Midoriya in action and he always looks so determined and stoic, but I feel like he's hiding something and he's somewhat hesitant to get close to anyone." Kendo thought.

"If he's willing to try to be my friend, then this is an opportunity that I won't miss." Kendo thought.

"Hey, Midoriya." Kendo said.

Midoriya closed his notebook and looked up at her.

"Do you want to come back here another time and train with me?" Kendo asked.

"Of course." Midoriya said, with a smile.

Kendo reached out her hand for Midoriya to shake, only for her to activate her quirk.

Midoriya flinched and jumped back in surprise.

"Sorry, but I couldn't resist." Kendo said.

"Remind me to never get on your bad side." Midoriya said.

"Trust me, I watched your fight with Todoroki and your fight with Overhaul, if anything, no one should get on your bad side." Kendo said.

The two of them laughed and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

As the sun went down, the two of them began to make their way back to the dorms.

Kendo had wished that they could've talked a little more, but then again, there was always tomorrow.
