Well this is quite the Predicament. Not only am I still a cat thanks to Kuiske and being hunted by Yasuotra's old boss but I'm lying on the ground a couple of feet behind the ONE PERSON I hate/love MOST was talking to said old boss wearing a white lab coat. Ever since I turned into a cat Yasutora has been taken care of me and gave me the name Hari I couldn't quite understand what they were talking about before I blacked out but I'm pretty sure that one of them mentioned what I really am.
A Couple Months Earlier.
Chad's POV
It had been a few months since my internship with Doctor Yamaki ended and I started my own research on Acceleration of growth in plants. Ever since I found out about him wanting to study more about the Angel Race. All I could think about is finding Angel and warning her about him. But so far I haven't even been able to reach her let alone find a single piece of info as to where she would even be. I haven't seen her since we graduated high school four years ago. Ever since that literal fight we had back in early middle school I'm not surprised that she won't even talk to me. I hurt her so bad that she had to be in the hospital for a week. I felt so guilty since then that I would wake up every night in tears whenever I'd dream about that fight. I look up at the sky as the snow started falling. Christmas was coming up in a couple of weeks.
My thoughts were interupted when I heard splashing comnig from the river. I looked over as I saw an unusual brown and white tabby cat struggling to stay afloat in the fast running water. I ran over as fast as I could reached into the river and pulled the cat out quickly tucking it into my coat for warmth. It looked no older than about eight months old. I took it home with me to warm it up and feed it. Poor thing appeared to be a stray. For now I wrapped it up in the warmest blanket I could find and placed it on a soft pillow on the floor in front of the fire place. I hope it'll be alright.
Angel's POV
I wake up in complete darkness but I felt warm and saw a blurry flickering light in front of me. I slowly moved towards the flickering light and as my vision cleared I see a warm fire in front of me. I looked down at myself. Yup. Still a stupid cat. I looked over my shoulder to make sure I still had the Medallion around me. Good Safe and sound. I overheard Ichigo telling Orihime and Uryu that Yasutora had lost it a while back and has been looking everywhere for it for a while now. He and I may hate each other now but I'm not heartless. I wouldn't be an angel anymore if I was. So I took it upon myself to find it and give it back to him. Besides he doesn't know I'm a cat so he'll never know it's me. Guess I should figure out where I am. I looked over as I see a bowl of water and a small can of tuna in front of me. Whoever rescued me from the river must've brought me home.
I ate the tuna and drank some water before looking around the room. I see a lot of Scientific things and plants strewn about the living room Must be a Botanist or something. I look over towards the front door as I see a large dark green coat with white fur on the hood lined with wool. Judging by how small the house looked it appeared to be an apartment small enough for four people at most to live here but I only see one pair of shoes at the door so I'm guessing whoever lives here is alone. I was still too tired and weak to wander around and explore so I tried to go back to sleep. Once I get my strength up again I'll have to give my thanks to whoever saved me and get the hell outta here So that I can give Yasutora back his necklace.
Chad's POV
I wake up the next morning with tears running down my face. Once again I had the same memory of that day. I look over at my wall at an old picture of me and Angel from when we were in elementary school. I miss her so and I just hope she's alright. I would never hate her and I never wanted to hurt her the way I did. She was my very first friend I ever had and I never wanted to purposely loose her. I wiped the tears from my eyes and got up. I needed to check up on the kitten to make sure it's alright. I headed into the living room where I see the tabby sleeping peacefully still wrapped in the blanket. I noticed that the tuna can was empty which is a good sign. I walked into the kitchen to make coffee walked back into the living room then sat down on the couch and turned on my laptop.
A couple hours had passed before I started to hear sneezing coming from the kitten. I noticed that as it sat up it sneezed into the back of its paw. I smiled as it yawned. "You're finally awake" I said. It jumped as I spoke as if it was startled by something. It looked at me and I noticed that it had brown eyes. The same color as its fur. I chuckled as it hid beneath the blanket then slowly peeked its head out. It hid itself back in the blanket as I heard a knock on the door. Must be Ichigo. He did say he was gonna come by for a visit today. I opened the door to let him in.
"Jeez Chad you look like crap Did you not get much sleep again last night" He asked.
"Yeah I've been taking care of this kitten that I rescued from the river Other than having a flu bug I think it'll be alright While it's getting better I'm gonna try and see if it has an owner" I said.
"Does it have a collar or a name" He asked.
"I'm not sure yet I've been giving it its space since I brought it home" I told him.
"It You mean you don't even know if it's a boy or girl yet" He said. He walks over to the kitten and picks it up by the scruff. Bad idea Ichigo. "I'll see for you" I see the kitten squirm trying to get free before scratching Ichigo's face and he dropped it. "Ow What the hell you dumb cat" I grabbed the kitten just in time before it fell.
"Was that really necessary" I asked him as I gently set the kitten down in its blanket not taking my eyes off Ichigo. I here it hiss at him. "Now you've made it mad"
Angel's POV
Of ALL the people to have rescued me it HAD to be Yasutora. I hid in the blanket as he opened the door to let someone in. It sounded like Ichigo. Before I knew it I was picked up by the scruff and handled like child's toy by Ichigo. I scratched his face with my back claws and he let go of me. I was too weak and wasn't fast enough to even try to land on my feet but I feel a pair of strong soft hands catch me before I hit the floor. "Was that really necessary " I hear him say as he gently set me down in the blanket. I stared at Ichigo and hissed at him before hiding back in the blanket. "Now you've made it mad"
I hear Yasutora sigh as he stands up. "It was necessary to figure out if it's a male or female" I hear Ichigo say.
"But that isn't the way to handle a cat especially a young one...and judging by how it acted just now I think it's safe to say that it's a female" I hear him say with a bit of annoyance in his voice. Hey someone annoying him other than me. No shit Sherlock but how'd he figure that out so fast.
"Anyway have you been able to get a hold of Angel to warn her about your old boss" Ichigo asked. There was a long silence. "I'll take that look as a no" His voice sounded softer that time "You had that nightmare about her again didn't you" Nightmare The hell was he talking about. I peeked my head out from the blanket and looked at Yasutora as he was sitting on the couch with his face burried in his hands.
"I don't understand Ichigo Karakura is a small town she couldn't have just up and disappeared out of thin air...I've asked Rukia and Renji to see if she was in the Soul Society but even the head captain doesn't know where his great granddaughter is...I know for a fact that he's just as worried as I am that no one knows where she is that by now he probably has a whole division of soul reapers looking all over the world of the living and even the soul society for her by now...It's been almost five months since she's gone missing Ichigo...But I can feel it in my heart and soul that she's still out there somewhere...lost and alone...And with Doctor Yamaki out there looking for her I just...I wanna find her before he does...So that I can protect her" He explained. My eyes widened. Is he...Is he that worried about me...Why would he when he's the one who hurt me...And is he...Crying...And what did Ichigo mean by a nightmare.
Chad's POV
I feel Ichigo place a hand on my shoulder as he sat down beside me. "Don't worry Chad We'll find her no matter what and if you can feel deep inside your heart that she's still alive somewhere out there then by god we'll search everywhere until we find her and bring her home I know how much you want to say your apologies to her for what happened" He said as he smiled.
I gave him a half smile and wiped my eyes with my wrist. "Thanks Ichigo" I said. We talked for an hour before he had to go to work at his father's clinic as we said our goodbyes I notice the kitten run out and down the stairs.
"I guess the dumb cat needed to go" He said as we saw her hide under a bush. "Speaking of the cat...is it normal for cats to have brown eyes like that not to mention it looks like it hadn't bathed itself in months and every time it sneezed I saw it sneeze into her arm or the back of her paw as if she had manners"
"I did see her sneeze in the back of her paw earlier" I said as I looked down in thought.
"I think you should keep her Chad I noticed that she didn't have a collar which tells me that she's a stray and you could use the company and you can study her and figure out why she acts the way she does it is your job as a vet tech to take care of sick or wounded animals" He said.
"True I can make an appointment for her for a check up and see what kind of medicine to give her for her flu" I said I looked down as I see her walk back into the house curling up in her blanket once again.
"What a weird cat makes me wonder if it's a dog trapped in a cats body or what...anyway I'll catch ya later Chad" Ichigo said as he waved then turned to leave.
Angel's POV
As I curled up in the blanket to warm up from being outside I heard Yasutora shut the door. I heard Ichigo say earlier that today was his day off from work...but if he doesn't have to work today then how come he's working on science stuff...Nerd...He always did try to keep himself busy even when he had nothing to do. During the next few days I was slowly recovering from the flu I had gotten from being out in the cold for too long. Yasutora tried to give me both dried and moist cat food and I tried it but I couldn't hold it down. I tried as best as I could not to make a mess in the house when I had to puke and tried to get outside when I did. He took me to work with him every day where I obediently fallowed the vet's orders. Guess the vet was his boss. I may be human trapped in a cat body but somehow even I have some cat instincts.
I can never resist the red laser pointer for one thing. The Vet was using the laser pointer to show Yasutora my X-rays to make sure I had no broken bones. While Yasutora and his boss worked I stayed in the room with them but in the corner chair letting the pets that came in know that everything was alright. I love being able to communicate to animals. Recently Yasutora has been calling me by the name Hari when the kids come in and ask them my name. They always asked him to give me treats. A couple days later however I was sitting on the chair in the corner of the room when a young couple came in with a kitten that looked familiar to me. It was the same kitten that I had rescued from a flock of birds when I was out looking for his necklace. He appeared to be in really bad shape. When they set him down on the table I hopped on the table stayed in the corner starring at him.
"Not now Hari" Yasutora said as he examined the kitten's wounds.
The kitten looked at me with fear in their eyes. As they faintly meowed. "W-What's gonna happen to me big sis" He asked.
I walked over to him and placed my snout under his. "You will be just fine Link Yasutora and the Doctor will take good care of you" I said. To the humans I only meowed. I laid down beside him and purred to calm him down.
"I think Hari knows this kitten Chad" The Doctor said.
"Maybe he's a friend of hers She did used to be a Stray" He said.
Link had told me that while he was out looking for food some older cats ambushed him all cause he trespassed onto their territory. He got beat up pretty badly and he would've died if it hadn't been for the young couple that brought him in. I think it's time that I taught those mean cats not to mess with my friend. I'll have to sneak out sometime tonight. I may still be recovering from the flu but I have just enough strength to beat some cats ass. At least I still have my abilities as an angel I just can't use Nikaku nor my water abilities. But I can still summon my wings whenever I want just as Kuiske said.
When Yasutora put him in a cage to heal I climbed into the cage and laid down beside him. "Hari I know you're worried about your friend but you can't stay with him He has to heal...Don't worry He'll be fine We'll take good care of him" He said as he looked at me. He held out his hand towards me. "Come on my shift is almost over and staying here with him isn't an option cause you're still recovering from the flu We will come back tomorrow morning to check up on him Alright"
I stared at him for a couple of minutes before I got up and walked out of the cage. He picks me up and places me on his shoulder. I can just tell by the look in his eyes that he hasn't been sleeping much. And he's been waking up every night crying. I wish there was some way I can tell him who I am.
Chad's POV
Once my shift ended I put on my coat as Hari laid down across my shoulders like a boa. I placed my hood over her and started walking home. As we got about half way home I notice her poke her head out as she stared down a dark alleyway. "What's the matter Hari" I asked as I gently placed my hand on her head. Before I could figure out what was wrong with her she jumped off of my shoulder and ran into the dark alleyway. "HARI" I called out for her. I fallowed her into the alley until I saw her surrounded by four adult Stray cats. She was not getting into a fight was she. She jumped into the air as the four cats that were surrounding her lunged at her. My eyes widened as I saw her back starting to glow and a pair of beautiful white angel wings sprouted from it.
No way! It's impossible! Cats can't become living Angels! Can they? I watched as she beat up the four cats with ease knocking them out yet not using her claws to hurt them. The way Hari fought seemed...Familiar to me some how but I couldn't place my finger on where I've seen it before. After the fight her wings disappeared like sparkles She stood in front of me looking at the other cats as they got up and ran off. She then sneezed into her arm. "Ha-Hari" I called to her. She jumped then slowly turned around towards me. She looked at me as if she was scared. Like she had gotten in a lot of trouble. I caught her as she started to fall. I quickly took her home to warm her up.
It had been a month since that day. Hari's been avoiding me like the plague since then and it's gotten me worried about her. She doesn't eat nearly as much as she used to only one small can of tuna every few days. Whenever I do see her it's only when she runs outside to go do her business. I've been noticing her weight and it doesn't look good. I've been doing what I can to help her but it's as if she doesn't want anything to do with me. I recently adopted her friend and she usually only hangs around him as if protecting him.
That night I started to dream about that day again...The day I hurt Angel. I once again tried to stop myself before swinging the first punch before-.
"Hey Stripes" I heard her voice. I felt a soft hand gently grabbing my fist. I look over to see her wearing her white strapless dress, her gold arm band around her right arm, her beautiful white feathered wings tucked behind her back, and her golden halo floating above her beautiful long brown hair.
"A-Angel" I whispered as tears formed in my eyes.
"Stop blaming yourself for what happened that day Besides I fought back...You know damn well that I can defend myself with or without you around protecting me" She explained.
"I-is it Really you Angel" I ask.
"Yeah it's me though I'm not physically here Kuiske gave me an item before I...Went missing...it allows me to go into the dreams of someone I know so that I can talk to them but I can only do this once...So I thought long and hard and...Well I decided to come to you" She said.
"Wh-Where have you BEEN Do you have ANY idea how worried the head captain and I are about you You've been missing for five MONTHS The head Captain has almost all but given up searching for you Thinking that you're DEAD" I explained as I looked at her Raisnig my voice every now and then indicating how worried we were about her. I look at her as my eyes widened. "Y-You're not are you"
She gives me one of her sweet smiles that I truly missed seeing and nodded her head no. "Course not and I'm not missing either...Well to you guys I was for four months...Come and sit with me and I'll tell you everything" She said as she leads me to a tree where she sat down beneath it. I sat down beside her. "Kuiske had already warned me about your old boss...Doctor Yamaki was it...so in order to...protect me from Yamaki he had to turn me into an animal so that I could lay low for a while" She said.
"So you've been at Kuiske's this whole time...That's a releif" I said as I sighed.
"I only stayed there for about three in a half months...I got tired if not being able to do anything so I ventured out a bit While in my animal form I saved some stray animals from predators and protected myself from them as well" She said.
I look straight into her eyes. "Where are you at now Are you safe You aren't hurt or in trouble are you" I asked. Just looking into her beautiful chocolate brown eyes reminds me of-. My eyes widened. No...She couldn't be...Could she?
"Yes yes I'm safe No I'm not hurt or in trouble And let's just say that I'm...a Lot closer than you think...Uhh...Stripes...A-Are you okay" She asks me.
"Hari...You've been Hari this whole time...it all makes sense now...The way she acted...That day she fought those cats...It was you this whole time...All this time...You've been right under my nose...And I didn't even know it" I explained as I looked down holding my head in my hand.
"Uhh...Y-Yeah...H-how did you know that" She asked.
"Your eyes...How did I not see it sooner" I whispered to myself.
"My eyes" She asked. I turn to look at her.
"Your eyes...Weather you're an angel or a brown tabby...You still have the same beautiful brown eyes that I love so much no matter what you are" I said. I see her blushing then she turns her head to the side.
"I-I should go My time is almost up" She said refusing to look at me. "But one more thing before I go...Take care of Link for me...He's like a son to me...And since you must know Link is the kitten that we brought ho-" I kissed her lips gently then a few seconds later I broke the kiss.
"Please Angel...Don't...Don't leave me again" I whispered as I touched my forehead to hers keeping my eyes closed to fight off my tears. "I don't think I can handle loosing you again"
I hear her sigh. "Just because I have to leave your dream doesn't mean I'll leave you in the waking world...Besides there's something I have to give back to you before I do leave the house There's an errand I have to do but I will be back" She said as I see her start to disappear. "You're starting to wake up which means I have to go now but You'll see me again when you wake up...Oh and one more thing before I go...Don't call me Angel in the waking world...not until I can turn human again which I'll have to figure that out myself...That and I can't communicate to you when I'm a cat cause you know language barriers and stuff...So for now just keep calling me Hari" She disappeared as everything went white.
Angel's POV
I hear him wake up with a shock just like he usually does when he wakes up from his nightmares. I turn the corner and sit at the door looking at him as I see him crying yet again. I walk over to him but still in the darkness trying not to be noticed until I sit beside him. It took him a little while before he noticed me. I placed his necklace down on his futon then used my nose to push it closer to him. "An-Hari...Right You told me not to call you Angel when you're in this form didn't you" He said wiping his eyes. I meowed softly pawing at his medallion to get his attention.
Finally he noticed it. "Th-This is...My medallion...H-How did you...Wh-Where did you find this I've been looking everywhere for this for weeks" He said. I meowed again. He sighed as he smiled. "I guess I need to figure out how to communicate to you until we can figure out how to turn you back...And I think I know just the person to help" He said. I look at him in annoyance and meowed. I tried to hide a yawn but I hear him chuckle. He gently picks me up and sets me down on his chest. "For now let's go back to sleep We'll go see him in the morning Tomorrow's my day off from work anyway...Don't worry We'll take Link with us as well" He said as he closed his eyes keeping a hand on my back forcing me to lay down on his chest.
"Big sis" I hear Link Meow from the doorway. I struggle to get out of his gentle grip and walked over to him.
"What's wrong" I asked.
"I had a bad dream Can I sleep with you" He said.
"Of course" I said. I walked him over to the Futon and told him to lay down beside it. "For now can you stay with him There's somewhere I have to go but I promise I'll come back" I nuzzled his face a little with mine as I purred to calm him down.
"Where are you gonna go" He asked.
"Not far just down the road a little" I said. I stayed with them till Link fell asleep then I left walking towards Kuiske's.
When I arrived at Kuiske's Ms. Yoruichi was already standing at the entrance of the shop in her black cat form. "Welcome back Angel How was your...Adventure" She asked me.
"I found what it was I was looking for and have given it back to its owner" I told her.
"It looks to me as though in your current form you have chosen an owner...Or rather...maybe they have chosen you" She said as she smiled.
"O-Oh...yeah...F-For the time being that is" I said not looking at her.
"Judging by the spiritual pressure emanating from your collar I take it that Chad was the one that found and adopted you Correct" She asked.
"Y-yeah" I simply said not looking at her. "But for a while he never figured out who I really was...Until now"
"Until now...What do you mean" She asked.
"I decided to use the Dream Sphere to talk to him in his dream...or rather...His Nightmare...For the month he's been taking care of me in this damned form I've noticed that he's been waking up every single night in tears...I didn't understand why...Until tonight...He's been having that memory of that day edged into his mind Replaying it as a nightmare every single night since then...Because he feels guilty for hurting me...But I thought he hated me" I explained.
"He doesn't hate you Angel He would never hate you...You're his very first best friend...and his first love" She said.
"That would explain why he kissed me in our dream" I said.
"Wait He kissed you" She asked surprisingly. "That's very interesting I didn't think he would be the type to be so bold"
"What's THAT supposed to mean" I asked as I looked at her.
"Well now that he knows that you are in this form he is wanting to figure out a way to change you back to your normal self is he not" She said ignoring the question.
"Well yeah even though I told him that I would find a way myself" I said.
"To him that is out of the question...You have been missing for five months and during those five months he has been so worried about you that he barely sleeps at all but whenever he finally does get to sleep he dreams about that day...he didn't realize it until the day he found out about Dr. Yamaki's true scientific obsession that...He's madly in love with you" She explained.
"Wh-What...h-he's in lo-...But why...Why me of all people" I asked as my eyes widened.
"No one knows why our heart chooses who we fall in love with...You'll have to ask him that yourself" She said.
"H-How can I do that when I can't even communicate to any humans in this damned form like you can" I said as I looked off to the side. She tosses me a small velveteen jewelry bag that made a little jingle as it hit the ground. "What's this"
"Those are for you and your little kitten that you've been taking care of these past few weeks since you left...Those should help you and him communicate to...cirtin humans better" She explained.
"Bells...Do you want me to be found by Yamaki with this" I said.
"To normal humans it's just a regular bell but for us and humans such as Chad or Orihime they are communication devices you can speak to him all you want without ever making a single meow or even move your mouth" She explained.
"So I communicate to him telepathically so to speak" I asked.
"Somewhat but Sadly Kuiske and the others are asleep and it's far too cold for me to transform to put it on for you so in the morning you should ask Chad to put it on for you" She said.
"Thank you Ms. Yoruichi I should go now Link's probably wondering where I am" I said as I bowed to her then turned to leave. "Thanks for the bells"
"Be careful getting home Angel...I heard that Yamaki's been wandering around looking for you" She said.
"In this form my name isn't Angel...It's Hari" I told her before I ran back towards Yasutora's house taking the back alleys and avoiding Yamaki as he wandered the streets. Why the hell would he be walking around at this time of night.
Chad's POV
I woke up to the sound of...Bells? I looked over to see Link sleeping on the futon beside my pillow. But no sign of Angel. She did tell me she needed to run an errand. But to where? I see Angel walk into the room with a small bag in her mouth. "Where did you run off to Hari...And what's that you have there" I ask her. She walks over to me setting the bag on the futon nudging it closer to me with her nose. I gently take the bag and open it. Inside it were two small bells. One gold the other silver. I look at her as she pawed at her collar then looked down at Link. I look back at the bells and smiled as I put the silver one back in the bag then gently hooked the gold one onto Angel's collar.
She looked away in annoyance as I hooked the bell onto her collar. I see it start to glow as two tiny lights appeared and spiraled around her then disappearing into her neck. "I swear I'm gonna get caught with this bell someday and it's gonna be all Kuiske's fault" I hear her say in annoyance as the bell flickered as she spoke. My eyes widened. That was definitely Angel's voice. So that's what these bells are for. I chucked.
"He'll have to pry you from my cold dead hands and It'll be over my cold dead body before I let him take you away from me" I told her. She looks at me with a surprised look. "I take it these bells were the Errand you needed to do Hari" I smiled at her. She shakes her head then turns around.
"Y-Yeah...K-kuiske made them for me and Link so that we can communicate to you and the others But it also means that Yamaki can understand me with it as well since you know he's a Vizard" She said with her back turned towards me. I smiled at her as I gently picked her up holding her in my arms gently hugging her.
"I meant what I said Angel I'm not going to let him harm you...And I know that he's been roaming around the streets at night looking for you...but as long as I'm around I won't let him have you...I will protect you from him no matter what" I told her. I laid down setting her down beside me but still kept my hand on her back. I closed my eyes thinking about that day. "Besides...It's the least I can do...to make up for what I've done...I'm sorry...For everything I've done" I tried so hard to hold back my tears.
"I don't blame you for what happened that day so quit beating yourself up over it every night...I was the one that antagonized you in the first place...I got too cocky thinking that I could stand up to you...I stood my ground and fought back for a while So technically you know first hand that I can handle myself in a fight against strong men just like you" She said.
I gently pull her closer to my chest as I silently cried. "I'm sorry... Forgive me...For what I've done to you" I Whispered.
"As I said I don't blame you it was my fault for egging you on in the first place so I deserved what you dished out to me that day and I should be the one who should apologize So I'm sorry and I hope that you can forgive me for starting it...Anyway...The past is behind me now and you should do the same...So no more replaying that day in your mind anymore...it's becoming a broken record for you anyway...So go back to sleep We'll continue this conversation later" She exclaimed.
I smiled as I dried my tears with my other hand. When she told me that we would continue the conversation later. It reminded me of the days we used to play pretend in elementary school. Every time we played Royalty. She, as the Princess, would always tell me that. So I, as the Knight, would always answer her with. "If my princess wishes it Then so it shall be" I said as I closed my eyes.
"Oh you did not just go there Stripes" She said in annoyance.
"I did Have a problem with it My princess" I said.
"N-No...J-just go to sleep Okay...We'll talk more later" She tried to say.
I chuckled. "As you wish" I said.
There was silence in the room for a little while. I opened my eyes when I feel her snuggle up to my chest with her back still towards me. "I-...I really missed you...Y'know" I hear her say. She sounded like she was sad but I hear her purring.
I smiled picking her up and placing her on my chest as I turn onto my back. "I've missed you too...And you have no Idea how much I've missed you" I said.
"I think I have a pretty good Idea" She said sadly. She gets off of my chest then snuggles up to my neck as she purrs. "Enough talking Go back to sleep" She yawns.
I raised my hand and placed it on her head gently petting her. "Alright then" I said.
The next day I get up to take a shower then gently pick up Angel and Link, who only Angel is still sleeping. I gently place Angel over my shoulders as I gently hold Link in my arm as I make some coffee. He looks up at me meowing. Or rather...Maybe meowing at Angel...She said that he was like a son to her...That must be why she comforted him while we were examining him...Alright First things first. Feeding the three of us then off to the store to get Link a collar of his own so that I can put his bell on...I guess while Angel is out and about with me I may have to take hers off so that if I ever come across Yamaki he won't suspect that she's not a normal cat. He won't suspect that she's not a cat at all. If it means protecting her from him...I would do anything for her. Just as usual Angel wakes up to the smell of breakfast cooking about an hour after I started making it. I look down to see Link meowing at her. He seems happy that she's awake now.
"Calm down Link I'm okay as I told you last night I had to go somewhere and I'm here now so why are you so worried" She said tiredly as she yawned.
"Do you think he can understand me" I asked.
"All animals can understand humans but humans cannot understand animals meaning if you say something to him he'll be able to understand you without the bell but you will not be able to understand him when he speaks back" She said as she jumped down from my shoulders walking towards the door. I smiled as I fallowed her and opened the door to let her out leaving the door cracked so that she can come back in.
I look down at Link and smiled. "Your name is Link right...Don't worry...Hari is just fine...After the three of us eat the three of us are going to go to the store to get you your very own collar" I told him. He looks at me as if with stars in his eyes. I think that means he likes that Idea. I look over as I see Angel shutting the door behind her with her paws. Before I found out that Hari was Angel I was always confused as to why she would always go outside to do her business rather than use the litter box. At first I thought that she was a dog or something else trapped into a cat's body. But...Now that I know...Who she is...I no longer needed to question it.
Angel's P.O.V.
Great just great bad time to go into heat. I guess for the next few days I have no choice but to use the litter box...That and I'll have to explain to Link about the birds and the bees soon...Man I am NOT ready for that yet...This is the only thing I hate about being a damn cat...But why am I in heat now...I'm glad that Tora doesn't live anywhere near any stray cats. That would be a big problem to explain...Then again I should probably keep my distance from Link for a little while until I'm no longer in heat. I walked back into the house using my front paws to shut the door behind me. I shut it as best as I could but it still didn't shut all the way. I don't want to bother Tora to shut the door for me so I walked away from the door till I was about six feet away from it Then I turned around and charged at it. I jumped into the air and kicked the door shut using all four of my paws.
"What did you do that for big sis" Link asked me.
"I'm not quite strong enough to shut it so I had to put a little bit more force into my kick in order to shut it all the way" I said.
"Hari you could have just asked me to shut it for you" Yasutora said.
"Sorry I didn't want to bother you since you were busy making breakfast for yourself" I said.
"Wait he can understand you" Link asked. I nodded my head yes then tapped on the bell on my collar.
"It's thanks to this bell that Yasutora can understand me I brought you one as well you just need a collar to hook it on" I said.
"The big man told me that after we eat he was gonna take us to the store and he was gonna get me my own collar...What does that mean exactly" He asked.
"It means that you will become a Sado meaning a member of this family" I said.
"What's a Sado" He asked.
I giggled a little. "Sado is the big man's Last name And soon it will be yours as well" I said as I smiled a little.
"Since you already have a collar does that make you a Sado as well" He asked. How can that one innocent question make me blush. I turn away from him clearing my throat.
"Uhh...Th-that I umm...not sure" I stampered to say.
"What's wrong Hari Kitten got your tongue" Yasutora said in a Teasing tone.
"Sh-Shut up You don't even know what he asked." I said.
"I may not have understood what he said but I think I have a pretty good guess" He said as he chuckled.
"Oh you would love to know what he said wouldn't you Stripes" I said as I glared at him puffing up my fur.
He chuckles again as he raised his hands up in defeat. "Alright Hari you win I won't tease you anymore about it" He said. W-Wait...He was TEASING ME...Th-That's nothing like him.
"What's wrong with you You never tease anyone Don't tell me you're going soft in your old age Stripes" I said.
"I'm making an exception in your case" He said.
After we had eaten our breakfast Tora was telling me that he had to take off my bell so that if we ever crossed paths with Yamaki he wouldn't suspect anything. That sounds like a good Idea. I asked him if I could stay home so that he could get some time alone with Link to get to know him. He questioned why but I didn't want to give him the real answer. I don't care if he's a vet tech He doesn't need to know about my female problems. I keep telling him that I'm okay but he doesn't seem to believe me. I was starting to get agitated with him.
"Are you sure you're alright Hari Maybe I can take you to get a check up" He asks worriedly.
"I. Said. I'm. Fine" I hissed.
He looks at me seriously. "You sure don't sound like it If you don't tell me what's wrong I'll tell the Head Captain where you've been hiding for all this time" He said.
"Why haven't you told anyone about me in the first place" I asked as I glared at him.
"Because the others don't need to get involved...It's my mission and mine alone to protect you and keep you safe until Yamaki is taken care of...But if you don't tell me what's wrong then I will tell the Head Captain Where you've been all this time" He says as he looks straight into my eyes. I looked off to the side as I mumbled. He didn't hear it. "I couldn't hear you"
"I'M IN HEAT OKAY ARE YA HAPPY NOW" I hissed puffing up my fur again bearing my fangs. He looks at me for a few seconds before he started Chuckling. "What's so Funny Stripes" I asked.
"Is that all...Seriously Why didn't you just tell me that sooner" He said as he continued to chuckle. When he calmed down he looked at me in a weird look that I've never seen him look at me before. That look made my heart skip a beat for some reason. "I understand that these kinds of conversations can be awkward between females to males...But you forget I'm a vet tech so I know about a female cat's body and what they do as well as the female human body...So you don't need to keep things like that secret from me...But I'll tell you what If you come with us and help me pick out a collar for Link I'll help keep the male cats off of you You'll stay on my shoulders the whole time alright" He explained.
"I still think it's a better Idea if I stay here" I said as I looked off to the side pouting. I thought for a little bit then sighed. "Fiine I'll help you pick out a Collar for Link" I said in Defeat.
He picks me up and holds me in his arms holding me close to his chest. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you" He whispered. My eyes widened when I felt him kiss my forehead.
"W-what was that for S-stripes" I asked him as I looked up at him. He puts me on his shoulders as he walked towards the living room to put on his coat and shoes.
"Are we leaving now big sis" Link asked me. I nodded my head yes as Yasutora picked up Link placing him in his coat for warmth.
"You didn't answer my question Stripes" I said.
"You should already know by now why I did it Hari" He said. He takes off my bell before we left the house and places it in his pocket for safe keeping.
"Big sis Why do you call him Stripes" Link asked.
"It's only to tease him but when I was human I always called him that ever since he and I got into a fight in middle school" I said.
"Did you guys always fight when you were human" He asked.
"No...to be honest that was the first...and last fight we ever had...We were more like brother and sister when we were kids...but...I don't know what to think of him now" I said.
"Is he your human form's mate" He asked. How can that simple question make me blush. I turned and laid my head on Yasutora's Shoulder.
"I...I dunno...Y-You shouldn't even be knowing about things like that yet" I said shyly. I feel his hand touch my head quietly shushing us.
"I sense Yamaki nearby Hari close your eyes and pretend to sleep" He told me in a low almost whispered tone.
