Author's notes: Hi! thank you so much for reading and for sending me your reviews. As this is my first fanfiction and my first piece of writing I have shared I would love to know what all you liked, what I could improve on and where you would like this story to go, I do have some ideas on what I would like to happen but any suggestions would be helpful!
Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of the legend Stephanie Meyer! Although I do own Christian and Mila!
Enjoy! :)
Prologue:
Everybody sees something different when they gaze into the mirror. So, it begs the question; what do I see when I look at my reflection?
Answer: I see a monster.
Physically, I am perfect. No, I'm not arrogant, I am simply telling you the truth.
I am perfect.
My wavy, dark brown hair cascades down my back and touches the top of my hips. I have extremely pale skin, that somehow compliments my soft features. My lips are full and blood red, my teeth are pearly white. I have a flawless nose, arched eyebrows, a heart shaped face and prominent cheekbones. When you look at me, you see an angel, that is what I look like, an innocent, gorgeous young girl. But have you ever heard the expression don't judge a book by its cover? Yes, you would never expect that behind my pretty face lies a monster. A tiny thing I forgot to mention – my eyes. I have blood red eyes.
Oh, and I forgot to mention I am a vampire.
I place my pale, chalky hand into the slow-moving stream. It's the middle of winter so you would expect the water to be freezing cold. Yet I feel nothing. I don't feel the cold. I'm an unfeeling monster. I draw circles in the water with the tip of my pointer finger before I angrily splash away my perfect reflection and turn away in disgust. I look around at my surroundings, and look up to see the huge, towering trees all around me, their branches blocking the view of the sky. As I listen carefully, I can hear the beginning of a storm brewing, the little bugs crawling everywhere, birds chirping in the distance and the swaying of the branches in the harsh wind.
I sigh. Besides the bugs and the birds, I am alone. Although Christian and Mila are somewhere in the dense woods; they asked for alone time and that's what I'm giving them. Living amongst a mated couple is difficult, although I am the leader of the coven, most of the time it feels like I am following them around – Mila goes wherever Christian goes, and Christian goes wherever Mila goes. I just follow.
I stuff my hands into the pockets of my jacket and rock back and forth on my heels. Dammit. I have been here for no more then twenty minutes and I am already bored. I would run south to meet up with Mila and Chris, however I don't want to even think about what they are doing right now, and I would rather not curse my eyes again. I purse my lips, I guess I can just run around a little bit whilst I wait for Mila and Chris to finish up 'mating time'.
With that decided, I begin running north. After jogging north for twenty minutes, trying to enjoy the passing scenery, I smell it.
The unmistakable smell of another vampire, not 1 vampire though, but 7.
There you go! I hope you liked it! I know it's not long, but it's just the prologue and I promise the next chapter will be a lot longer! please review and tell me where you want the story to go! And ooh who do you think Bella has smelt?
Thanks for reading!
Review!
Until Next time,
Evelyn :)
