A/N: Hello! I'm your author; I just wanted to say hi and explain a few things. First off, this is my first fanfic ever, and I'm just starting out. If you have feedback/reviews, please remember this and be gentle. If you have ideas/suggestions, please let me know through reviews, and I'll be more than happy to acknowledge them.

Title: Sugar Cube

Summary: Who knew getting Marinette and Adrien together would be so difficult. Unknown to Plagg and Tikki, taking on such a job turned out to have benefits of its own. Maybe, just maybe, with a bit of luck, each team could unknowingly help the other in their happily ever after?

That's it for authors' notes, folks. Remember, be kind. I'm really excited to start writing and am just starting out.

Chapter One:

It was night, and the stars were out. When everyone was supposed to be asleep, two individuals remained awake.

"Sugar-cube, what are you doing?" asked Plagg apprehensively with a tired yawn as he noted Tikki staring at Marinette. Before them, the teen was peacefully sleeping, unaware of those that remained awake. Releasing a sigh, Tikki answered with hesitation.

"I just wish I could tell them Plagg, she'd be so much happier, but I can't do anything…" Tikki let a tear fall over a small scar on her face. With another sigh and watery eyes, she continued to stare at Marinette. An unpleasant after-effect of falling onto the burning hot concrete the other day while not paying attention.

"Sugar-cube.. You're doing the best you can. You can't help her anymore. Remember, your cup is empty, and hers is half full, but at least it isn't empty. You can only give so much water to her before you run out.

As always, Plagg seemed to know exactly what to say as he flew over Marinette's tissue box and grabbed one. Handing it to Tikki, he watched her wipe away her tears. Even still, her cheeks remained bright red, and signs of recent tears remained visible.

"Thanks Plagg, your the best."

They both knew the feeling was mutual.

"You do know that I love you a lot, right?" Tikki asked playfully while giving a Plagg a hug that seemed to raise both of their moods instantaneously.

"Of course I do sugar-cube. No matter how much you argue about it or pretend to ."

With a chuckle and a playful grin, Plagg watched Tikki with interest as she began to change the subject to something far less sad.

"Now, how about that karaoke you promised me earlier?" Tikki asked Plagg as they looked at the starry night sky that in a few hours would sadly leave.

With a smile and promise of karaoke, Plagg nodded in agreement. Perfect. If nothing else, for now, she would try to pretend to be happy. For him. Despite still worrying about Marinette's problems, she couldn't also let Plagg down. And, the only way to do such a thing was for her to be sad or have someone tell him that he couldn't have the moist, soggy, fluffy, yellow circle that humans called Camembert cheese.

Silently, she praised herself. While she didn't exactly want to be dragged to karaoke, it beat the alternative-which was a sad Plagg. After everything he did for her, this was the least she could do.

? ンメノ? ? ンメニ? ンメユ ? ンメツ?

The sun had just risen a few hours ago, and with it came a new day. The pastel-colored sunrise brought out a new shade into Marinette's pink and black room. The clock in the house read 6:20 AM, and Tikki rubbed her eyes and let out a tired yawn.

"It's already morning, Mari?"

Marinette's response was quiet and soft, "I'm afraid so Tikki."

Both stayed silent for a while while they both slowly woke up fully.

"Do you know where Plagg went? He came over last night.."

Tikki asked abruptly as she rubbed her bright red and black eyes. When Marinette shook her head, Tikki pondered on the events of last night.

Somehow, she needed to help with this issue. If not, she would simply continue to feel this way and worry insensibly. Flying into Marinette's bag, she began formulating a plan.

For the entire day, Tikki let her thoughts come up with the best way to handle such as thing.

As Marinette walked to school, she contemplated.

As they arrived at school on time, Tikki knew she would need to ask for assistance in this mission.

The mission to help get them together.

It wasn't until Marinette got her test back from class that more ideas had come to Tikki.

How to best get them together.

How to best make everyone happy.

When Marinette informed Tikki of getting a solid B, both new congratulations were in order. Then, as if the universe heard her pleas, Tikki stared in disbelief as Marinette asked Adrien out for the first time ever.

Apparently, Alya would be a valuable asset in Operation Get Together.

Now, Tikki just needed to see how the date would go.

With crossing fingers and a plea to the universe, she hoped all would go well.
